Restoring Tablespace in different location from the original location
Dear Experts
We are doing an Restoing of production database in to an another server. where the production database runs on Windows and the sap directories has been stored in 6 drives but in the second servder which has only 3 drives but high capacity. we want to restore the files from the production database (hich will have the drive reference ) to the new server ( which has 3 drives only) by referring only the sap directories so that it is safe to pull the data
in brrestore how the comman / syntax should be?

Hi,
You will have to follow a redirected restore procedure for oracle rather than a normal restore.
For this you will have to do the following:
1. Take a full offline backup or an online consistent backup of your production database.
2. Backup control file to trace on your production server.
3. Display the back<SID>.log summary log in production and identify the u2018affu2019 or 'anf' file that was created for the production backup.
4. Copy the back<SID>.log and .aff/.anf files to the sapbackup directory of quality.
5. Now use the brrestore redirected option:
brrestore -m all,<source drive 1>=<target drive 1>,<source drive 2>= <target drive 2> -b <file-id>.aff
This performs a redirection of the file during brrestore operation.
6. Manipulate the control file trace you created above and change the drives accordingly. Rename it to control.sql
7. Then do the following:
>sqlplus /nolog
>connect / as sysdba
>@c:\control.sql
>shutdown immediate
>startup mount
>recover database using backup controlfile until cancel;
The recover part is only required if you have used a online backup.

Serialized Assembly has different MVID from the original assembly
I need to create serialized assembly for my DLL. At first I did it by turning on 'Generate serialization Assembly' option in the Project Properties in Visual Studio. I checked the resulted serialized assembly's MVID using ILDASM and the MVID is different

I then resort to create the serialized assembly using sgen.exe but again the MVID of the serialized assembly is different than the original assembly.
I do not call/do anything to the original assembly that would cause it to be recompiled, so I don't understand why the MVID of the serialized assembly is different.Hello,
Did you update the .NET Framework, for example, install a service pack for .NET? If so, it will cause assemblies recompiled and update the MVID.

Tried to post a question about restoring my i mac from time machine, but this new format makes no sense to me. I want to restore my i mac from time machine after I reinstall the OS from the original disk. Will a time machine restore only restore the applications and data or will it restore the current state of the OS. I bought a 160gb iPod classic every time I try to put music on my external hard drive only copy up to 1500 songs and then freezes Itune me and I can not close, asks me to restore the ipod as factory, and do nothing . I try to close the program and itune will not let me, I try to turn off the computer and I can not shut, I looked to see if the iPod disk errors and says it's okay. I restored it about 8 times and I've put music and videos but I always delete everything. I crushed and Selection Menu to enter diagnostic sistemade or ipod and I put the manual test where I enter the IO and q tells me everything is fine. I have already given several Format directly from the Windows 7 and anything either, I always delete everything from passing over 1300 songs and I congeal whole team. No longer have to think of this company because Apple gives no solution has this issue.

I have made a burn folder with photos exported from I-photo. It now shows in information, that the date created and modified is different from the original digitized date. How can I get the original date to show in the info from Finder?
The Finder reports File information. The date and time of the photo are in the Photo's Exif metadata. The Finder has no awareness of this. All photos apps on any system do.

Why does a new desktop creation unexpectedly initiate with a background differing from the originating desktop? How can I control or eliminate this behavior?
CT, I suspect that I either mistated the question or don't understand how to set the default back ground. In any case, with the background that I have set in system settings, and this is the background to which my sessions consistantly boot, new desktops come up for the second or up to the third background with this initially set background. Then in the third or fourth desktop creation (I seldom go beyond four), the background for the new desktop, is one that I was using one or two months ago...

Running 10.4.11 and trying to restore OS9 as well as iLife etc. I tried to install iLifer from the original disc and the computer doesn't open the install program with the .mpkg file extension. Can you help?

I hope that you aren't complaining about dropped calls INSIDE your condo because no amount of switching or upgrading devices will solve that.
VZW will not guarantee service inside of any structure. There are just too many factors. If the problem is inside then you might want to look at one of the following:
1.) Network Extender (may cause issues for others in a condo or apartment style setting)
2.) A Google Voice Number (Free with a Gmail email address), downloading Google Hangouts Dialer and forwarding your calls to the GVN so that you can make and receive calls over Wi-Fi. -

right... Your "result" indicator is an I16, it goes from -32768 to 32767... so that's not enough, before the 2 for loops, just after the Integer to colour value VI you should place a convertion node to convert to i64 and also change you result display representation to i64.

If I reinstall my FCE 3.5 from the original discs, will I be able to get the updates from Apple?
System has begun crashing (dropping-windowshade, message to shut down computer) during attempted capture or render. Hardware has been checked out and is OK. Other OS functions seem to be working. I have a bootable clone from the most recent period of good function, and also my original install disc for FCE.
If I need to try reinstalling FCE, are the updates still available from Apple?
If I can't restore FCE 3.5, is there anything I can use with my OS 4.11 MBP that will be able to access my FCE 3.5 project files? My 3+TB of underwater clips, stored on external drives as QT movies?
Any guidance appreciated. This forum helped me out a lot when I first started - didn't expect the end to come so soon & hope there's a feasible workaround!

Here is an article on how to Uninstall FCE HD You could also use FCS Remover (note there are different versions depending on what version of OS X you have - be sure to select the correct version)

Also, the "burn playlist to disc" command has disappeared from the File options. I downloaded the latest version of iTunes but that only restored tracks I'd bought from the iTunes store. I also tried setting up another logon.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be copied & renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to an earlier state. Look for a recent .tmp file that is similar in size to the .itl files in the Previous iTunes Libraries folder. If it has happened repeatedly you may want the earliest such file generated since the last iTunes upgrade.
If applicable, see iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
I've noticed more of these missing library posts of late and a common factor to most since I started asking is AVG Anti-Virus. It seems in some cases it might be at least part of the reason why the library file disappears. Try excluding the iTunes folder from any AV scanning process.

I have moved my iTunes library to a new Windows 7 PC and cannot transfer music from the new iTunes PC to my iPhone 4S. The iPhone will only accept music transfers from the original iTunes PC. I have come to understand that an iPhone can have only one "daddy" iTunes PC, but have not been able to find out how to change the "daddy". I have done a backup of the iPhone, and a "Restore to Original Settings". Then I restored the content using the new iTunes PC. My Apps and contacts, etc. are back on the iPhone, but it still won't accept music from the new iTunes PC.

How do I output the smoothest video when changing or mixing frame rates from the original footage?
I have been experimenting with various Media Encoder settings, and wondered if there was anything else I can try to get the smoothest video output possible, especially when changing frame rate and possibly resolution. For clarification, let me start from the beginning and explain what I'm doing and what I've tried so far. I'll try to be as brief as possible, but if I do go into too much detail, I apologize.
My original footage is AVCHD 1080p - 60fps. (my camera only does 60fps...specifically 59.94fps) We're not talking interlaced video here, I'm staying away from that. This is definitely full frame, progressive video at 60 frames (not fields) per second. My output will ultimately be for the web. I have been keeping my output codec (H.264) and bit-rate (VBR 2-pass, relatively high-bitrate) consistent, and have been trying numerous output options and even sequence settings to see what would yield the best results. I am using Premiere Pro CS5.5 along with Media Encoder. Here's what I've done and the results I've observed:
1. I created a sequence with 1080p - 59.94fps settings to match my original footage. I then output both 1080p and 720p versions at 59.94fps, and at 29.97fps. The 59.94fps output files looked absolutely great, as would be expected. Extremely smooth. The 29.97fps output files were generally smooth, but not near as smooth as the 59.94fps. This is expected since it's half the frame rate as my original footage. However, my question is this: What exactly is Media Encoder doing when "down converting" from 60p to 30p? From a technical stand point, is it dropping every other frame? I'm just curious to understand exactly what it does. I tried the Frame Blending option as well, and that only yielded a bit more blur to the images which wasn't desirable for any of the output files.
2. Just to see what would happen, I created a sequence with 1080p - 29.97 settings. I then output both 1080p and 720p versions at 29.97fps. The video was much more choppy in these cases, even with Frame Blending on. Now, I know not matching my sequence settings with my original media isn't ideal, but I again just want to understand why this yields less smooth video than the 29.97fps options above. Why does cutting the sequence settings frame rate in half from the original, then outputting the same frame rate as the sequence yield video that is not as smooth?
3. Next, I wanted to try mixing frame rates to see how Premiere and Media Encoder handled the footage and output files. Premiere handled it great, no issues there. However, I had some interesting things happen when I output the files. Here's what I did: I created a sequence with 1080p - 59.94fps to match my original footage. Then I took the same exact footage that was in my sequence, copied it in my project panel and interpreted it at both 23.976 and 29.97 fps, yielding slow motion video. The slow motion video looked great in Premiere, so I went ahead and just added it to my sequences, along with the original 59.94 footage. I also created separate sequences for the 29.97 and 23.976 footage respectively, each with matching sequence settings, then added a nested sequence to another original footage sequence (with 59.94fps sequence settings) to see which yielded the best results. Basically, I'm trying to output 59.94fps that match my original footage, but also throw in some slow motion footage at different framerates. I'll explain my results in a moment as they are a bit convoluted, however, here is my question: When mixing frame rates and trying to output the smoothest video, am I going about this the right way? I would assume you would use your sequence settings that match the original footage (which is what the majority of the footage will be), then bring in a nested sequence for the slow motion (as oppose to just dropping the slow motion video directly into my main sequence), and then output to the same frame rate of the majority of the footage, in this case 59.94fps. Is there a better workflow for this?
The results to #3 above were as follows. Initially, it looked like it didn't matter if I nested the slow motion sequence into my main sequence, or simply dropped the actual slow motion video into my original 59.94fps sequence. It seemed to produce smooth results either way. Frame Blending blurred the video a bit, but didn't seem to make much difference, and quite honestly I like the footage without Frame Blending in general. However, when I closed down Premiere, and opened the output files later (opening in Quicktime), the footage looked choppy. In fact, it would go from choppy to smooth and back, almost like it had an irregular cadence (don't know if I'm using "cadence" in the right context here). I would then open up Premiere again, import the output footage into my project panel, and play the footage in Premiere, and it would play back smooth again. Is this a Quicktime issue? I was playing 1080p 59.94fps files when this happened, so maybe it's just because it's a large file. Doesn't seem to have issues with the 720p files I created. But it sure threw me off with my testing because I then started second guessing the settings I was using. My iMac is the latest 2011 model with plenty of RAM, so I wouldn't think it's the computer. Thoughts?
4. Next, I noticed on ALL my output files (again, using the H.264 codec from Media Encoder) that the color of my video seemed to flatten quite a bit. It seems that the original footage has more contrast and saturation than the output files. I figured maybe this was just how it was, but when I re-imported the output files back into Premiere, they looked IDENTICAL to the original footage. And in Media Encoder's Source/Output windows, I don't see any difference there either. Is Quicktime again the culprit here, doing some odd things to the color of my videos?
5. Regarding Frame Blending, when is the best situation to enable this option in Media Encoder? I've read it is when mixing frame rates, but I honestly didn't see too much of a change except for a bit more blur, which I didn't care for.
6. Lastly, my conclusion is that 60fps yields the smoothest video, which is an obvious conclusion. However, I know that 60fps isn't the best or easiet frame rate for web delivery. It seems 30p is more the standard. Are there any integrated web players that would play 60fps? Can you get 60fps video on YouTube/Vimeo? If yes to any of these questions, can they do 720p and 1080p at 60fps?
Those are all my questions. I hope I am clear enough without being overly wordy and hopefully I didn't put too many questions into one post. I tried to rename a file, it gave me an error message (can't remember the number - 43??) and then the file disappeared from the original folder. When I do a search, the file comes up under the new name, but it does not show a path, and even though preview shows the contents, I can't open the document (Powerpoint) and I can't move the document. I tried "Copy" and paste but it doesn't work. I tried "Share" with Airdrop and iChat, but the file is inaccessible. When i try to rename the file, it says the filename is too long.
When I try to open it, it says the alias is not good, and asks if I want to fix the alias. I'm afraid to do that and lose all access to this document.
Right now, it feels like a ghost document - it is on the computer intact, but it is in an undisclosed location and inaccessible.
Please help!!I was able to resolve this by repairing permissions, even though no permissions error was listed specifically for that file.
I could also have recovered it through Time Machine, but I'm interested in knowing how not to have this happen again!
I was afraid of rebooting and possibly losing track even of the ghost.
I did not try EasyFind - I'll keep that in mind next time.

To restore the MacBook Pro to factory settings:
1. Make a backup of your files because everything will be erased.
2. Insert the Snow Leopard disc and press the C key while your Mac is starting to start from the DVD.
3. Go to Utilities menu > Disk Utility, select Macintosh HD on the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the disk.
4. Close Disk Utility and install Mac OS X -
What's the point of a virtual copy if it can't be in a different folder from the master?
When I spotted "Make virtual copy" on the context menu, I thought "Great - I can organize my photos in different ways without wasting disk space by using aliases!"
But when I tried to move the virtual copy to another folder, LR said Nope!
So I moved the master - and the copy moved with it.
What am I missing? I've seen the reference to Smart Collections, but they seem to be based on ratings or flags, not arbitrary subject-matter groupings.
So I created a "dumb collection" (my term, in distinction from the automatic groupings), made virtual copy and copied the virtual copy to the collection.
Then I then went back to the original folder and deleted the virtual copy from the original folder.
It vanished from the collection as well.
Is a virtual copy merely a way to make and save an alternative edit of a photo - but only in the same folder as the original?A virtual copy is virtual. It is a record of the processing settings you made held in the database. LR never makes changes to the original files and does not create copies of original files (except on import if you so choose). A new file is created on export with the processing settings recorded in the database. The folder structure is irrelevant to LR other than LR needs to know where the file is on your computer.A virtual copy does not make an actual copy anywhere on your hard drive. It takes up no space as it is just a few lines of metadata recorded in the catalog. Hence virtual copy.
The point is that you may require several different versions of the same image file, different crops, different processing settings etc. These can all be recorded in the catalog and when you require the particular version you export it. On export it can be sent anywhere you like.
I would suggest you have a look at the LR manual through the help system (press F1 when LR is open) and have a look at some of the video tutorials in order to understand the basics of LR
