Restrict group of articles in a total planning while using reorder point pl

Hello Experts,
Iu2019m in the process of setting up MRP for my customer. I have about 70 plants in the system and roughly 14.000 articles. Not all articles are planned in all plants but in at least one plant all articles are.
Some articles need to be planned every day, others only ones a week. We are planning to use automatic reorder point planning.
Do I understand it correct, that when I do a total planning in the back ground the planning calendar will only be taken into account when I do time phased planning? In other words, all articles will be planned every planning run when I do a total planning using reorder point planning?
IIf my understanding is correct, is there a way to restrict the group articles in a total planning run while using reorder point planning?
Kind regards,
Rudy

The MRP run is executed either at plant level or MRP area level
And all materials within such level (which do not have the ND)  are considered in the MRP run.
It is is possible to exclude materials or restrict the MRP run based on a user exit (see the user exit field in the lower part of MRP run selection screen)

  • Use Reorder Point Planning and see VSE Requirements in Long Term Planning

    Hello,
I would like to use reorder point planning short term and something similar to MRP planning long term. I am trying to drive actual production off of consumption and plan long term for capacity, inventory and BOM components.  Our plan is to delete the near term forecast and leave the long term forecast in to show requirements for LTP.
I'm configured for Reorder Point Planning as follows:
MRP type V1, Reorder Point Planning with External Requirements
    Planning Strategy 52
    HB Max Stock Level
For the longer term forecast requirements I'm configured with:
Independent Requirement Type VSE, Planning without final assembly.  This is creating non convertible planned order independent requirements.
The reorder point planning is executing perfectly, but how do I get the VSE planned order independent requirements to show up in long term capacity and inventory planning? What am I missing?  Is it something with MRP type, am I missing an option in the long term planning setup?
This has been a tough issue and I would greatly appreciate any advice on this.
    Thank you,
    Wes

    HI
check the planning scenario in MS31 and the PIR assignment in MS31 also check the plant assignement.
Check In MD61 you have enter PIRs in simulation version and the same version is to assigned in planning scenario
Also check T code OPU5 for LTP setting for planned orders

  • I would like to know why we're are being charged on our data plan while using wifi?

I was told by a customer service rep that we must turn OFF data while on WiFi otherwise you are charged for data usage. What?? I thought that was the point if automatically connecting to WiFi, now my one line is almost at capacity and the service rep was no help. We've been Verizon customers for close to 10 years and were NEVER informed this tidbit of information.  It's ridiculous

There are data connections being charged while at home on Wi-Fi.  We have even matched date and time to text messages that are being sent from that phone, again charged to data when that phone has unlimited text messaging.  So in our opinion everything is going on data – while on Wi-Fi, sending text messages, etc.
Customer service rep said that we must turn off data while on Wi-Fi – ridiculous what’s the point then?!?!  Obviously frustrated and appreciate your continued assistance.

  • No Planning happening with scope of Planning for total Planning

    Hi SAP Gurus,
The Scenario is for Consumption based planning and MRP run.
I have created a  New Entry under Scope of Planning for total Planning run and entered the required two plants under sequence of Plants.
I have also entered manually consumption values for trial materials in those two Plants. I maintained MRP and Forecast View.
I then ran MD01 using the Scope of Planning created. But when I check the MD04 results for trial materials, no Planning has happened.
I shows a message  "Pl carry out Forecast for material xxx in Plant xxx "
Then using T.Code- OMDO, I created a variant for each Plant and also Scheduled. But after then also with MD01, No planning is happening.
When I check under T.Code - OMDU, the respective Plants were activated
Pl guide me the steps for Creating of Scope of Planning and then how to set up planning file and what could be the reason materials are not getting Planned.
    thanks and regards,
    R.Velmurugan.

    Dear Mariano,
MRP type VV (forecast based Planning) is used for these materials.
I defined Scope of Planning for Total planning and included Plants in sequence.
Then I created new Variants for Planning file entries for these Plants (T.Code - OMDO).
Then I created new Variants for Planning file entry consistency for these Plants  (T.Code - MDRE)
After then I executed Mass Forecast (T.Code - MP38) and then carried out total planning run using T.Code - MD01.
Now the materials are getting planned.
    I missed Forecast run earlier.
I found the reason for the problem, hence closing the thread.
Thanks to Mariano and Daniele for your inputs.

  • Reorder Point Planning via SNP heuristics based on ACTUAL stock

    Hi All,
In R/3 there is the option in reorder point planning to take into account external requirements (MRP type V1) or not to take into account external requirements (VB). When using reorder point planning in APO SNP Heuristics, the reorder point is being determined in time based on the PROJECTED stock (so taking into account external requirements) so the result is the same as in R/3 when using MRP type V1. In the future horizon, everytime the projected stock goes below the reorder point, a replenishment is triggerd via a planned order or purchase requisition.
I would like to know if (and how) it is possible to perform reorder point planning in APO SNP via heuristics (can be location or network) only taking into account the ACTUAL stock (and no external requirements in the past or in the future). So, the same behavior as the MRP type VB in R/3. The difference is that only on the short term, 1 time replenishment is triggered (via planned order or purchase requisition) if the current stock is below the reorder point.
Remarks: this needs to be able to be set product specific, because not all products at the location will need to use this logic.
Any help or thoughts for a solution direction (preferably without programming or user exits) are appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dennis

If you really just want a pure re-order point scenario based on current stock, I'd suppose that you'd want to create a new data view and modify the total demand macro so that it doesn't generate any sort of future requirements (total demand will essentially be zero).  Then the reorder point will be the only thing driving planning when compared to the initial bucket SOH, which is presumably calculated through the standard macro and according to the stock cat. group you indicate in the location/product master.
You could set some specific filter in the material master using the MATLOC freely definable attributes to create selection profiles and govern in which data view you process the planning for certain materials.  That is to say, you'd assign all materials which are pure current stock ROP and tag them with some attribute and use that to create selections for your Heuristic variants.

  • MRP with reorder point and safety stock and planning calender issue

    Hi,
We are using currently MRP type PD and using Scheduling agreements and after the demand management changes when ran MRP the delivery quantities are fluctating in higher range and vendor complains about it so to avoid this we are constantly changing GR Processing days in material master? how can we avoid the drastic changes on the order quantites on scheduling agreements with out changing GR processing days.
For example : we constantly manufacter 480 vehciles per week and some time because of holidays it will be 320 or 560 per week then the forward scheduling agreement quantites instead of 480 parts week(twice a week delivery) goes up and down and vendor needs a at least a range for his prodcution?
I was thinking to use Reorder point but when i changed the MRP type VB then i cannot see forward scheduling agreements at MD04? does MRP type VB or V1 will allow forward scheduling also like 120 days ahead of planning?
    Appreciates everyone time and help.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Siva

you can use MRP time fence to restrict the changes in planning data for specified horizon. For example If MRP time fence = 30 days, no changes in planning data will be allowed for coming 3o days unless you manually intervene.if any new requirements came in this period , they will be planned automatically at the end of this period only.

  • Difference :Automatic Reorder Point Planning and Forecast based palning ?

    Dear MM Guru's,
As we See in throtical Concepts that
Automatic Reorder point planning and Forcast Based Planning Used the prevuious Historical Data.
Please explain what is difference Between them.
    regards,
    A. S.

    Hi,
    Reorder Point Planning: -
    Use: -
In reorder point planning, procurement is triggered when the sum of plant stock and firmed receipts falls below the reorder point.
    Features: -
The reorder point should cover the average material requirements expected during the replenishment lead time.
The safety stock exists to cover both excess material consumption within the replenishment lead time and any additional requirements that may occur due to delivery delays. Therefore, the safety stock is included in the reorder level.
The following values are important for defining the reorder point:
    - Safety stock
    - Average consumption
    - Replenishment lead time
The following values are important for defining the safety stock:
    - Past consumption values (historical data) or future requirements
    - Vendor/production delivery timelines
    - Service level to be achieved
    - Forecast error, that is, the deviation from the expected requirements
    Manual Reorder Point Planning
In manual reorder point planning, you define both the reorder level and the safety stock level manually in the appropriate material master.
    Automatic Reorder Point Planning
In automatic reorder point planning, both the reorder level and the safety stock level are determined by the integrated forecasting program.
The system uses past consumption data (historical data) to forecast future requirements. The system then uses these forecast values to calculate the reorder level and the safety stock level, taking the service level, which is specified by the MRP controller, and the material's replenishment lead time into account, and transfers them to the material master.
Since the forecast is carried out at regular intervals, the reorder level and the safety stock level are continually adapted to the current consumption and delivery situation. This means that a contribution is made towards keeping stock levels low.
    Forecast-Based Planning: -
    Use: -
Forecast-based planning is also based on material consumption. Like reorder point planning, forecast-based planning operates using historical values and forecast values and future requirements are determined via the integrated forecasting program. However, in contrast to reorder point planning, these values then form the basis of the planning run. The forecast values therefore have a direct effect in MRP as forecast requirements.
    Features: -
The forecast, which calculates future requirements using historical data, is carried out at regular intervals. This offers the advantage that requirements, which are automatically determined, are continually adapted to suit current consumption needs. The forecast requirement is reduced by the material withdrawal so that the forecast requirement quantity that has already been produced is not included in the planning run again.
    Reducing Forecast Requirements
    - Reducing forecast requirements by consumption
If consumption is higher than the forecast requirements in the current month, then the system also reduces future forecast requirements.
    - Reducing current forecast requirements by consumption
If consumption is higher than the forecast requirements in the current month, then the system does not reduce future forecast requirements.
    - Average reduction of the forecast requirements
The reduction of the forecast requirements is based on average daily consumption. Actual consumption data is not relevant.
The system calculates the average daily requirement first using the formula forecast requirement/number of workdays in the forecast period.
The forecast requirements are then reduced by the quantity resulting from the following formula: number of workdays worked x average daily requirements.
    Period Pattern and Forecast Periods
You can specify the period pattern for the forecast (daily, weekly, monthly or per accounting period) and the number of periods to be included in the forecast individually for each material. It is possible, however, that the forecast period pattern is not specific enough for planning purposes. In this case, you can define per material that the forecast requirements should be divided according to a finer period pattern for planning. You can also define how many forecast periods are to be taken into account during requirements planning. The splitting indicator is defined in Customizing for MRP per plant and per period unit and is assigned to the material in the material master.
    Example: -
For a monthly forecast, the requirements date would be set on the first workday of the month because, for planning, it is assumed that the total requirement must be available at the beginning of the period. You can then divide this monthly requirement into either daily or weekly requirements.

  • Lot quantity to order for a material set as reorder point planning

    Dear All,
Suppose the requirements of a material are as follows:
    Week1 Required quantity - 100
    Week2 required quantity - 150
    Week3 required quantity - 300
    Week4 required quantity - 500
This material is set as "VB" (Reorder point planning in the material master)
    My questions is:
Can we use periodic lot sizing procedure for a material planned based on reorder point planning , so that MRP run will consider the requirements of a month (1050) and use that as the lot size to order material.
We want to plan the material if it falls below the reorder level, but we want the system to dynamically calculate the quantity to order based on the actual demand (and not on either fixed lot size or maxmimum stock level).
    with regrds
    Laxmipathi.G.V

    Hi
         Use Anyone of the following
    1. Use automatic reorder point with forecast planning requirment.Where ssytem will calculate reorder point automatically based on weekly /monthly Forecast req.In this case Lot size you can use EX itself.
    2. Use Planning type PD and lot size EX and Instaed of ROL use safety stock so that system will consider weekly sale req. and  also safety stock according to that procerement proposal will be created.

  • Regarding Tcode S_ALR_87013018 List:Total Plan/Actual/Commitments

    Hi All,
I have to write a Z Report which will be substitute of the transaction S_ALR_87013018(List:Total Plan/Actual/Commitments.) and need to add 2 new columns in the output of the current transaction.
I am stuck up for the logic of retrieving the following columns in the output list by providing the value of internal order/order group on the selection screen :-
    1) Overall plan---The overall summary plan value for the life of the order.
    2) Actual----
Total expenditures recorded against an internal order.
    3) Commitment-Total commitment recorded against an internal order.
Please provide me the logic and table names from where I can retrieve these values on the basis of internal order numbers.
    Your responses are appreciated.
    Regards,
    Amitanshu

    Hi,
As far as I can see all three columns you have mentioned are included in standard report. So why donu2019t you simply copy report 6OPL-001 to your own report via TA GRR1.
Btw, you should also create your own report group as it is not advisable to include customer specific reports in SAP standard report groups.

  • Restricted Group as like as domain admins

I have configure Restricted Group in GPO in mydomains.com.
So I added a group called 'ABC_Support' and on the second box (This is group is a member of) was Administrators.
in ABC_Support group, there is one user called 'tech_admin'.
Result: GPO was successfully pushed into workstations, and ABC_Support is a member of local administrators and tech_admin can able to administer the workstations.
Problem: The problem is that, in domain controller, you will see the ABC_Support is also a member of built-in   Administrators. The tech_admin is able to access domain controller remotely and can create users and really like domain admins.
Is there any solutions that prevent the problem?  and is this behaviour is normal? is restricted group designed like that? I know there is a GPO under user configuration "local users and group".

    Hi Ben,
As others suggested, please make sure that the Restricted Groups setting was not applied to domain controllers. To do this, we can link the GPO to the OU where all workstations reside,  or we can use security filtering or WMI filter to filter out domain
controllers if we link the GPO to the domain scope.
Besides, as you know, instead of Restricted Groups, we can also use Group Policy Preferences Local Users and Groups extension to make a domain user a local admin. In this way, we can use GPP item-level targeting to apply our settings to specific targets.
Regarding this point, the following article can be referred to for more information.

    Best regards,
    Frank Shen
I have applied the GPO of ABC_support (restricted group) with WMI filtering and it is not applied to domain controller. On Domain controllers OU, I made another GPO to deny this group to remote desktop and login locally so that the group will not able to
    do unexpected activity.
However, I found that that the "\\mydomaincontrollers\Anydrive$ such as \\c$" can be accessible from workstations ou. If I deny the terminal service in GPO on Domains abc.local, it will apply to all computers and shared folders '\\servers\example' cannot
be accessible if I deny login through terminal services. why is that? suppose network and shared map folder use different ports and remote desktop/terminal service use different ports.
there are lot of thousands workstations in computerOU with different child domains and parent domains as well I need to manage. so it's really hard for me to move to another ou.
    please advise

  • Adding users in Local Administrators Group using GP Restricted Group

    Hi Experts.
I have approx 200 servers. There are user1, user2 and user3 which I have added in
Local Administrators Group using GP Restricted Group in all 200 servers. This works fine. In Add Group option I added "Administrator" and Added user1, user2 and user3 in "Members of this Group". Now all 3 users are reflected as a Local
    Administrators member.
Now there is a need that user 4 should be in Local Administrators Group using GP Restricted Group for certain servers only. Lets say 50.
In Add Group option I added "Administrator" and Added user4 in "Members of this Group". BUT it doesn't work.
    Any idea?
    Regards Suman B. Singh

    Hi,
    How is it going? I agree with Martin. To do this, we can configure the setting in two different GPOs. For instance, in GPO1, we add user1, user2, and user3 to the local admin group; in GPO2, we add user1, user2, user3, and user4 to the local admin group;
and then we can use Security Filtering to apply the specific GPOs to specific computers.
Regarding security filtering, the following article can be referred to for more information.

Besides, in addition to Restricted Groups, we can also use Group Policy Preferences Local Users and Groups to do this, in which way we can configure two Local Group items in one GPO and utilize Item-Level Targeting to apply the specific items to specific
    computers.

  • Sales order - show total plan costs (from production order) on sales order

    Hi all,
    I have the following question/scenario:
We create prodction order to collect cost (hours) for a service. There exists also a material master for this service.
The confirmed hours are posted on the production order and then setteld to the respective sales order (settlement rule SDI).
What to I have to maintain/customize to show the total plan cost (for the service) on gthe sales order?
If I check the sales order via VA03 --> environment --> cost report , I can see the planned sales revenue but no planned costs?
(the actual value flows work so far, postings via settlement or billing document).
I hope the topic is understandable. Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
Planned costs from prod order can not show on sale order.. Both are 2 separate entities in their own respects
Unless you calculate sales order cost estimate on your sales order, you cant see planned costs on sale order...
To calculate sale order cost estimate, make settings in your requirement class...
    1. Go to procurement tab of sale order
    2. See whats the requirement type
    3. Go to IMG > Controlling > Prod cost Contr > Cost Obj Contr > Prod Cost by Sales Order > Control of Requirements
    4. Here you can see mapping of req type to req class....
    5. If you want to have sales order costing and have sales order as CO object inorder to have sales order wise profitability, you should have following settings in Req class...
    >Acct Assignment Category should be E
    >Costing: Either Blank or X
    >Costing Id and Costing Method: As per your requirement

  • Drive restriction group policy causes error message when accessing Open and Save As Dialog Boxes on Windows 8.1

We are running Windows 8.1 Pro x86
I am really curious as to why the drive restriction group policy causes the error message to pop up:
"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."
It does not prevent from actual saving so functionality is not lost but it really annoys our end users and we're getting a lot of complaints. We cannot use the workaround of hiding drives instead of restricting as this still presents security issues. This
is happens when saving (or clicking on a button like "Browse" that opens the 'Open' dialogue box) in all Office 2013 applications, Internet Explorer, Paint, Notepad, and probably most others. I've looked at many forums and no suggestions for workarounds
have succeeded for us to get rid of this error message and in fact, I read a post that stated that someone contacted Microsoft and they said this was by design and there is no workaround. I find this very unfortunate that we either have the choice of compromising
security or annoying our end users. It seems to me like the new dialogue box in Windows 8.1 (and maybe 8?) attempts to access the local drive under the logged in user's account before it actually opens up the dialogue box which conflicts with the group policy
that restricts access to the drive.
Has anyone at all had any luck getting this to go away without removing the restrictions? It seems like the answer is either buried in the Windows code or somewhere in the registry.
Thank you in advance for your time!

Thank you for your time and response! Unfortunately, we have the machine locked down pretty tight (they are public use computers that require heavy restriction) and it is set to restrict all drives so access is limited to the local profile. We did try
testing your method, however, by adding the Desktop as an allowed location in the Office policy (which would not solve the issue for the other applications but was good for a test) using the path %userprofile%\desktop. When choosing that location, it does
not throw the error but unfortunately, it does not remember like it did for your with the E: drive so it still always throws the error when first loading the dialogue box no matter what I do. If you're able to confirm that this is simply by design and we're
just expected to inform our users to click through the errors, then I guess that's the accepted answer. Although, do you think that there might be a registry key value that is set after you save to the E: drive for the first time? Maybe we could set that value
to %userprofile%\desktop if it's doing the redirection after the first save through registry. Thanks again!
