Result of the query is not filtered as value given in Select Option variabl

Hello ,
A Select option Variable is created on Navigational Attribute( ZINV_PROG) of 0WBS_ELEMT.
The Compound Key for object ZINV_PROG(Investment program) is APPR_YEAR( Approval Year)
This ZINV_PROG object does not bear Master data.
The values in the field get populated as you load Master data of 0WBS_ELEMT.
The values for this objects is as shown below:
APPR_YEAR ZINVPROG
2005 ESCCCAPS
2007 ESCCCAPS
2008 FIRE
2006 CAPITAL
A select option variable is craeted on this Navigational attribute.
When you execute the query , On the selection screen of the query..
If you provide i/p for Investment programm field as 2007 ESCCCAPS, the data should ideally be filtered for this values only.
But the result of the query shows data for both values 2005 ESCCCAPS and as well as for 2007ESCCCAPS.
Let me know how to sort this issue.

My Question is if Approval year is a compounded key of ZINV_PROG object why data would not get filter out directly.
I mean on the screen for this particualr variable i take help - F4 to see values there you are able to see all the values of Investment programm along with the apprroval year.
If i select value as 2005 ESCCCAPS from the help F4 screen then ideally data should be fileterd out for this particular value. But it is not happening so.
Is that so in Query desgining that if you creating a variable on Nav Attribute, and that particular Nav attribute has a compound key then if you want to filter out the data for this Nav attribute correctly you would also require to create a variable for Compound key also.

I have a problem. when I execute a query, and see the results, it doesn't match. The query calculates some things. I have a sort of formula, when I execute it on database level I get a other result and when I execute on query level I get other results. The problem is that the wrong results that I get, is for a couple of days. only couple of days are wrong. Where should I search because I don't know it anymore.

Check the data of your cube from LISTCUBE TCode. And then apply the formula (what you have applied at the query level) on the Cube data.
And then compare the data if it is matching.
And if you find that data in Cube is wrong then you will have to hig in to its source data.

The Query Could not be saved due to a problem in Transport

we move the data from DEV to QAS but in the QAS when you are going to save as query giving this error

Sidharth,
When you create a transport request for queries in Transport connection, what is the grouping condition you have taken and also please be ensure that all the query elements have to be selected to transport that query.. Please check whether all the elements have been selected or not.. You can check this out in SE09 under your request.

Supress the "Overall Result" in the Query

Is there a way of supressing the overall result in the query? I do know that i can supress results by characteristics, but I would like to supress the results on a query level.

This error is in Validating Measue object in IDT.
It is not throwing error for dimensions objects but only for measure objects.
My BO version is 4.1
Backend is Teradata 14.1.

I have a folder with 10 folders inside it, 8 of the folders will not function when I use "show view options".

I have a Folder with 10 Folders inside it, 8 of the Folders will not function when I use "show view options", they always default back the default. The "show view options" works on all my other Folders in my system, even on the first two of the Folder in question. How can I correct it? I have tried every thing I can think of, even deleting the Folders & reintalling them. For some strange reason the "show view options" only does not work on the last 8 Folders in the Folder in question.

Error while using selection option variable in the selection screen

Hi All,
I am facing an issue while using selection option variable in the selection screen for one of my reports.
Scenario: For the field "Region From" we need to have wild card logic () in tes selection screen, for example if we put "BE" in the selection screen for the field Region From then the query should be executed only for those "Region From" values which begin from "BE".
Approach: For the above requirement I have made a selection option variable for "Region From". This allows use wild card
But when the report is executed we get the following error:
"System error in program CL_RSR_REQUEST. Invalid filter on ETVRGNFR".
(ETVRGNFR is technical name of the info object Region From)
Though the report is executed it displays all the values for the field "Region From" irrespective of the selection given in the selection screen.
Please give suggestions / alternate solutions to crack this issue.

Hi,
Try to use a variable of type Customer Exit and do the validation inside the exit to display according to your request.
This is just my view, i am not sure if u are already using this or Char. Variable.

Two selection option-variables for the same object

Hi,
I'm using two selection-option variables for the same characteristic in my query:
One is authorization variable and the other is used for restrictions (filter) in a selection screen.
I get an error: SELOPT/Query variable .... does not allow any further selections.
If a selection option-variable is used, no additional selections can be specified for this characteristic in this element.
Is there a way to overcome this problem?

Hi,
I have solved the problem by changing the authorization object (in RSECADMIN) from range to single value and also the variable in BEx from selection single value.
To be more clear:
object in RSECADMIN was: infoobject BT var1 - var5
I have changed it to:
infoobject EQ var1
infoobject EQ var2
infoobject EQ var3
infoobject EQ var4
infoobject EQ var5

Clearing the displayed value for a SELECT-OPTION

How do I clear the displayed value of a SELECT-OPTION?
I have 2 SELECT-OPTIONs on my screen (standard basic report program screen). I use code like this to populate the drop-down boxes for each one.

AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR s_prgrp-low.
PERFORM fill_prgrp_values.
AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR s_prctr-low.
PERFORM fill_prctr_values.
=====
The value the user picks for the first SELECT-OPTION will affect what values I put in the drop-down list for the second SELECT-OPTION.
If a user enters a value for the second SELECT-OPTION, and then goes back and changes the value of the first SELECT-OPTION, then I want to do two things:
1. Create a new set of values for the drop-down list for the second SELECT-OPTION (no problem; working fine);
2. Clear the displayed value from the second SELECT-OPTION that the user entered previously. That value became invalid when the user picked a new value for the first SELECT-OPTION.
How do I clear that second displayed value?
I have tried CLEAR and REFRESH for the second variable using the formats s_prctr, s_prctr[], and s_prctr-low. They will erase the values of the internal table or part(s) of it, but the displayed value stays on the screen.
I need to clear out the displayed value so the user will either leave it blank or enter or select a new value.
I am using F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST to build the drop-down lists, and it works fine, but I do not see any function module to clear the displayed value off the screen.

Sorry, but calling DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE did not work. This is how I coded it.

I have discovered that CLEAR and REFRESH of s_prctr will clear it somewhat. If I enter multiple values, ranges, etc., they will all be cleared, EXCEPT for the one single value that is displayed on the main screen. It is not cleared and it remains if you push the button to display the pop-up to enter ranges, etc.
To devrath.sampat -- Thanks for your example for building the drop-down list, but that is not the problem I am having. I am already able to build it just fine.
To repeat my problem, if I:
1. first enter / select a value for the first SELECT-OPTION s_prgrp
2. then enter / select a value for the second SELECT-OPTION s_prctr
3. And finally go back and select a new value of the first SELECT-OPTION s_prgrp from its drop-down list,
     when I do, the program needs to clear the value displayed on the main screen for the second SELECT-OPTION s_prctr (any additional values, ranges, etc., are cleared by CLEAR and REFRESH, if I go look; but not the value shown on the main screen).

Retriving the vaue given in select options in an internal table.

I have a requirement of using & printing the multiple values of country given in Select -options by the user.
I have given the select -options statement as :
s_ctry           FOR v_country obligatory.         (for selection screen)
SO now i want to work on the values (input by user on screen) given either in the multiple selection tab(the arrow option that will come on screen) or in the range option(that too will come on screeen when i give the above statement)
I will be putting these screen values in a work area and then will append into an internal table like this:                wa_country-country = s_ctry-low.
                            APPEND wa_country TO it_country
How to retrive these values (values of s_ctry) so that i can work on them.

The basic form of the SELECT-OPTIONS statement is as follows:
SELECT-OPTIONS <seltab> FOR <f>.
It declares a selection criterion <seltab> that is linked to a field <f> that has already been declared locally in the program. The names of selection criteria are currently restricted to eight characters. Valid data types of <f> include all elementary ABAP types except data type F. You cannot use data type F, references and aggregate types. If you want to use the selection criterion to restrict database selections, it is a good idea to declare <f> with reference to a column of the corresponding database table. It then inherits all of the attributes of the data type already defined in the ABAP Dictionary. In particular, the field help (F1) and the possible entries help (F4) defined for these fields in the Dictionary are available to the user on the selection screen.
The selection table, which has the same name as the selection criterion, <seltab>, is usually filled by the user on the selection screen or by calling programs. You can also process the selection table like any other internal table in the program.

Query Result in the APD displaying zeros insted of values

Hi Experts,
I am working on APD Concept i am using 2 querys as source and trying to feed the result of these querys result into a transactional ODS.
My problem in the query i have used formula variables for calculation in the columns under key figure structure.
in the bex analyzed it is giving the right results like
100,000.00
0.00
100,000.00
0.10
0.10
when i keep this query in the APD and checked the data by right clicking it is giving the results like :
0,0000000000000000E+00
1,0000000000000000E+12
1,0000000000000000E+00
1,0000000000000000E+12
9,9999900000000000E+05
Pl.Let me know whether we can use the formula variables for calculation in query whcih is going to used in APD.
this is urgent for me pl. give me some idea if any b'dy faced such situation.

Analyze in which layer the differences occur. At every level of the above layers, you have the option of displaying the data as a test. Check in which layer the data no longer corresponds. Proceed as follows:
Use Transaction RSCRM_BAPI to display the data on the OLAP BAPI layer.
If the data is correct -> this is a program error in the analysis process. Continue with step 2.
If the data is incorrect, continue with step 4.
2. The query used contains hidden key figures
Yes -> see Note 792671.
3. Is the query execution partitioned?
Yes -> see Note 914782
No -> create a problem message under the BW-EI-APD component.
4. Use Transaction RSRT2 to display the data from the OLAP processor layer.
If the data is still incorrect -> check the normal execution of the query again. If there are still differences, this may be due to a program error in the Business Explorer, and you should create a problem message.
If the data is correct -> this is probably a problem in the OLAP BAPI layer.

Limit the result in the query's varible selection.

I have many reports involed the requirment that in the query's varible selection we only want the users could see the calmonth demanded by me such as 200903,200902,200901,200812 and 200811 before the current system date (not include the future calmonth),and after we make these confirguration it should not influent the accumulative indicators which add the values include such calmonth as 200810,200809 and 200808. Actually in these info providers and master datas they exit past and future calmonth we dont want see in the query's varible selection. For the requirement we have consulted many SAP channels but they could give us any avarable advice,how could i do?

After I create a variable for calmonth,its named var_calmonth which is customer exit and variable is ready for input,how is the variable representing? interval,single value or multiple single value? If it is single value,u could not APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range in customer exit.If interval or multiple single value the upper is worked but u could not get the correct input GUI.The list is my coustmor exit code for the variable which is interval or multiple single value:

CHAR's value in the query but not in the report??

Hi all,
I loaded master data and crm transaction data from ODS to Cube. The data is in the cube but there is no value in my report when running it. EX: there are some CHARs in my report, I checked those CHARs have value in the query but it shows 'not assign' in my report when I run it. What happen?

If a navigation attribute is used in an aggregate, this aggregate has to be adjusted using a change run as soon as new values are loaded for the navigation attribute (when master data for the characteristic belonging to the navigation attribute is loaded.) This change run is usually one of the processes that are critical to the system performance of a production BW system. This is why, by avoiding using navigation attributes or not using navigation attributes in aggregates, you can improve the performance of this process. On the other hand, not using navigation attributes in aggregates can lead to poor query response times. The data modeler needs to find the right balance.
