Result Recording via PDA

Hi guys,
Is there anyone here who ever has the experience of using PDA tool to record the results for inspection points (03-in-process inspection)? At the moment my client has this tool and a system to record thier inspection results however would also like to interface the information to SAP. Currently the system is able to generate an output file in Excel or TXT format stored in the local PC or server.
As far as i understand from my research, you can use BADI to upload the results for the inspection point, but i am not sure if there are other better solutions.
I would really appreciate if you can recommend the solution for this requirement.

IDocs will send from external system, including Plant, Material, Batch, Storage Location, Charateristic. We want to read these IDocs, according the fields value to find the Inspection Lot of the specify Characteristic via QE51, then do the results recording.

MESSAGE CONTROL (USING EDI / ALE)
For Purchase order (Message control using EDI and message type ORDERS) STEPS
Settings to be done in the Sending system
From NACE
Choose Application EF ( Purchase order), press on condition record
Output type NEU Purchase order / double click ;choose Purchasing output determination:Doc type/purc org/vendor . Key in the data (Purchasing doc type NB, Purc organisation 0001, Venor vendor11) execute. Key in the data (vendor vendor11, name name1, partner function - VN, Partner Vendor11,Medium 6 (EDI), time 4(send immediately), language EN).
Press on output types , choose NEU Purchase order, double click, Access sequence 0001(doctype/purcorg/vendor) tick mark the access to condition, go to default values (dispatch time send immediately, Transmission medium EDI, Partner function VN)
Create RFC destination from SM59 (ZNARA_ALE_EDI).
Create a port from ZNARA_ALE.
Create partner profile vendor11 under LI and not LS. PARTNER NUMBER SHOULD BE SAME AS THAT OF VENDOR SET IN THE CONDITION TYPE.
In the outbond parameters of the partner profile Vendor11 key in the data (Reciever port -> ZNARA_ALE,
Basic type ORDERS05, Message type ORDERS ) Go to the message control and key in the data (Application EF, Message type NEU, Process code ME10, Transfer immediately )
Create a purchase order from ME21 with data (Purchasing doc type NB, Purc organisation 0001, Venor vendor11). System will generate an outbond Idoc automatically which can be seen from WE02.
For Purchase order (Message control using ALE and Message type ORDERS) - STEPS
To transfer the idoc from Client 555 to 500
Settings do be done in 555.
From NACE

From BD 64(distribution model), create a model view with Technical name ZNARA_PO (message type ORDERS, Sender ZALESEND_N, Receiver ZALERECV_N). Generate partner profiles. Distribute.
Note that partner profile will be generated under LS.
Settings do be done in 500.
From NACE create two logical systems and assign them to the respective clients (ZALERECV_N 500, ZALESEND_N 555).
From BD 64(distribution model), keep the cursor on Technical name ZNARA_PO. Generate partner profiles. Note that partner profile will be generated under LS. Change the process code to ORDE in the inbond parameters .
Now in client 555, Create a purchase order from ME21 with data (Purchasing doc type NB, Purc organisation 0001, Venor vendor11). System will generate an outbond Idoc automatically which can be seen from WE02. The purchase order details will be updated in 555 thru the inbond idoc.
IMP data for message control in Sales order creation.
Partner profile to be created under KU.
Outbond parameters in the partner profile (Message type ORDRSP, Basic type ORDERS02, partner profile - SP) In Message control (Application V1, Message type BA00, Process code SD10)
Notes:
Check the entries in the NAST table to see whether outbond idoc has been created successfully or not
If you have choosen collect idocs in the partner profile, use trans code BD87 to process them

Error in operation level result recording

Hi,
I need held; result recording of inspection type =03 (operation level Quality inspection)
A product manufacture via three operations (10, 20, 30)
All operation quality inspection active let operation no-10, all products reject and confirm as rework.
Next operation level quality record is done but confirmation not allow Reason is operation -10, rework quantity, (Actual quantity is more than planned quantity)
How to add the quantity after reworks for next operation quality inspection?

As per your more clearence , As per Example production order Quanity =1, passes 3 operation10,20,30
Operation=10 require rework as per quality ,
Operation =20 system raise the error message = Operation =10 rework .
If want to operation =10 ok Quantity =1 then system raise error messges =Actual quanity more than planned Quanitity
( 1 Rework + 1 Ok ) .
Supose rework order create and confirm then next 20 & 30 operation how complete .
Real scenerio :- Rework on operation =10 then again Quality check then goes to 20 operation Quality check pass / Rework if rework then again quality pass then goes to next operation level

For the upload to the SAP-System, the function module BAPI_INSPOPER_RECORDRESULTS will be used with the following mandatory input parameters:
-     Inspection lot number
-     Inspection operation number
-     Inspection point number
-     Partial lot number
-     (SAP-)batch number
-     Characteristic results (for characteristics with summarized result recording)
-     Single results (for characteristics with original result recording).
The transfer between subsystem and QM is done asynchronously. The mapped result data will be send as IDoc to the SAP system, or via direct call of the BAPI_INSPOPER_RECORDRESULTS via RFC.
If the data is send as IDoc, the BAPI-ALE interface must be setup to process the BAPI_INSPOPER_RECORDRESULTS at receipt of a new IDOC.

Problems during result recording

Hi,
I am facing a problem in the result recording in the transactions QA11 for sample management. I make a sample from QPR1 and generate an inspection lot, then go to QA11 or QA32 for result recording. I record the results and save, the status of the inspection lot updates to RREC. But when i display the results or want to change them, the system shows me a blank screen to record the results again. Although the results are saved in the database table QAMR for the lot and the status of the lot is also RREC but on QA11 the system is not showing those and asking me to enter again. One thing is to be noted that this behaviour is for some materials' lots, for other sample management lots all is O.K.

For Physical semple, when u r going to create any inspection lot Via QPR1, than u r very well known abt this that inspection point always use as far as physical sample is concern.
So, whenever u execute physical sample inspection lot via QA11, than during RR system ask u for a new inspection point values and its valuation.
once u feed the results than lock ur lot by providing UD.
if lot is opened and u want to feed new data against same lot than system allows for new inspection.

About results recording in QM

Can anyone tell me about the flow of results recording in T-CODE:QE51,I want to know the flow in detail and related tables in the process.Thanks in advance!

You can record in QE51 (QE51N) the results you get during quality inspection.
According the selection screen the system will show you a list with the inspection lots.
Choose one inspection lot and do the result recording for the operations. Or for the lower level: per sample.
Depending on the characteristic you choose a value with F4 help or key in a value (eg. length, diameter). After key in the necessary data, you CLOSE the operation (see the pushbutton ICON_LOCKED). Go to the next operation/sample.
Once you are leaving the QE51 you can go to make the Usage Decision via QA11 for the inspections lots you did the result recording before.

Results recording menu - QM02

I am unable to branch to the results recording screen from transaction QM02. The 'Inspection Processing' menu has an item which says Results > Display but it is greyed out. How can i branch to the results recording screen from QM02.

SAPs response to my problem is given below:
unfortunately it is not possible to activate the navigation
functions if the notification is not called directly but by using
a call transaction. This is the case when calling the notification
from the workflow functionality.
The navigation using the menu bar terminates the old transaction and
starts a new transaction. This means that all changes which you have
carried out in the old transaction are lost.
A navigation via the menu bar can only be provided if you have
called the transaction directly. I have attached note 374520 for
further information.

Report of result recording for multiple batches in a given time span .

Dear team ,
I am looking for a standard SAP report that gives the details of result recording with all the characteristics for mulitple batches in a given span of time . The MICs will show the actual values recorded for each of the batches.
The colums may be like this
material/batche/lot/quanity/mic1 value/mic2 value/mic 3 value...........
A standard report is prefered and we would also like to have a trend analysis done for the batches .

RESULT RECORDING PROBLEM

Dear Gurus,
I am facing problem I have maintained formula for paricular MIC,e.g Zn-for this MIC i have to calculate the percantage as 100 minus balance of the remaining MICs eg i have maintained in this form--1

Please note i have maintain the folowing parameters in control indicators for the MICs from 10 to 90 in the Inspection plan

and only for the MIC which formula is maintain i have maintained CAL CHAR.
when i creat a purchase and do migo an inpsection lot is gnerated.
when go to t.code QA32 to record results in RECORD RESULTS CHARACTERISTICS OVERVIEW
I HAVE NOTICED THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS
1) FORMULA IS NOT BEEN CALCULATED.
2)INSPECTED COLCUMN NEXT TO SINGLE VALUE IS AN INPUT SCREEN.i.E-Number of Inspected Sample Units--(WHAT I MEAN ITS NOT GREY FEILD-THE VALUES HERE SHOULD BE 1 AND GREY )
3)ALSO THE SINGLE VALUE TAB IS GREY NOT USUAL-IF CLICK ON IT THE TAB DROP DOWN.
I HAVE RUN THIS SCENRIO IN MY DEVELOPMENT SERVER AND IT WORKED PREFECTLY,BUT MY CLIENT SERVER I AM GETTING THIS PROBLEM
WHAT ARE SETTING I AM MISSING.

1) As the sample size was 1 system was taking this as Summarised recording & that is the reason why the system is showing 3 tabs instead 4
2) Please do the following setting in Config : SPRO>QM> Basic Setting> maintain setting for plant level>Plant> Result recording > untick Summ. Recording n=1.
If you had ticked this means that the results recording will always be summarized if n = 1 (for example when inspecting one unit or 1 ml).
please do check now whether the formula is working for a new lot and you have 4 tabs in RR

Actually the reason to use Quantum SCSI tape recorder is to back-up big amount of data (propriety movies footage) both on PC (what is quite easy, using SCSII host adapter with VHDCI 68 connector) and iMac what seems to be not easy. All my search by Google leads to that conclussion, they finished production of SCSI-to-USB or FireWire because somebody stopped to produce chips to covert protocols. So even buying noe second-hand adapter, no guaranty it's still working with Lion (nobody is developing drivers anymore). Strange is, nobody or just a few are using SCSII (Ultra 320) devices (while the transfer is not bad, 320 MBps what is 2560 Mbps, so the only limitation is tape recording (some 80 MBps) not an interface. Using compression mode I can (and I do) record 1,6 TB of footage data. However quite slow, is safe and cheap, comparing with any HD storage solution. USB 2 is much more limited.
I'm using Time Capsule for buck-up. But even 3 TB one day will be full of data, then old back-ups will be eaten by new once, what is not good idea for archives. I'm using another 2TB NAS HD (2x2TB RAID 1), but this is also going to be full soon.
Of course, you are right, the option is another machine (OSX,Win,Linux or Solaris) equipped with SCSII controller. But this requires another machine, just for back-up time to time, and in practice iMac folders must be shared with that small auxiliary machine because amount of data practically excluding even temporary data collection on auxiliary machine. And it must be transfer by wire, not WIFI, my only network. Tape recording is in my case really good, professional solution, isn't it?
Anyway, if somebody has similar requirements as me, and found the solution for SCSI, please let me know. So far, follow Jan's idea, I'm thinking about some embeded mini PC, fanless, equipped with slot for SCSI, with SOME smart system on-board, to deal with iMac for type recording. The option is previous Apple model, but to be honest, I became Mac/OSX user 4 years ago. I fell in love with Mac, but my knowledge about previous models is based on Google....
My desk becomes full of boxes. Do you know how big Quantum TC-L42BX is ? Is very big. And now another box.....another keyboard....another screen... And one small adapter could solve the problem. Eh....

VALUATION NOT APPEARING IN RESULT RECORDING

Hello....
I have created an inspection plan where i have assigned all the characteristic to be inspected with quantative data.
Upon goods receipt inspection lot is generated,
while doing result recording when i enter the result for eg. if the characteristic value is 1-10, and i enter the reult as 1, the valuation has to be set automatically as accepted but its not appearing, could anyone please let me know am i missing any settings.

If you are using sampling procedure, check the "Valuation Mode". It must be "Manual Valuation" to achieve the valuation Manually.
The trx code will be QDV1/2/3 for Sampling procedure.

Okey if you are not using the sampling procedure then,
Set the value as "Automatic Close" / Close, Navigate and save automatically" in the IMG settings at Quality Management->Basic Settings->Maintain Settings at Plant Level, here for the relevant plant select the "Result Recording" Tab and set the mentioned vales for the field "Recording configuration"
Revert for for further inputs.

Result recording & display of multiple tests/analysis of single sample

Hello Friends
Here is my scenario;
I receive 500 kgs of material in 5 bags. I want to draw sample of 1 kg from each bag. Thus I will be having 5 samples. I will perform the required tests on each sample. For testing I am consuming @250 gms of material. Out of 5 samples, I had to conduct the retest on 2 samples. I want to do the result recording of these tests/samples. In my understanding there will be 7 result recordings which will include 2 of Retest of 2 samples. I would like to display all the values recorded ( atleast for each samples ). Also, I would like to see the individual values and not the averaged out values the recordings.
How can I take care of constraints due to pooled sample i.e. it allows only the result recording of pooled sample and not the subsequent samples.
I would appreciate your detailed guidance on this issue.

Normally, we use Sampling procedure with Fixed Sample as Sampling Type withAttributive inspection non confirming units as valuation mode. Determination Rule as 10 ( Fixed Sample ). Sample drawing Procedure followed is "draw from all containers". Irrespective of our present settings, I would appreciate if you let me know the settings to be made in order to map given scenario.

RESULTS RECORDING WITH FREE TEXT IN QUALITY MANAGEMENT

How can I give free text of 300 chars In results recording? For a process order with batch number & recipe, (in which master inspection characteristics are mentioned which are linked to general characteristics.)
I created characteristics (type CHAR)(which can be used as free text in results recording ) I have created class, assigned chars to class & finally to material. Also assigned MIC to this class chars.
When I do results recording I need to have these characteristics to be display as free text of 30character width. But since I have to give selected set for this general chars.(which is the system requirement) I have given selected set while creation of characteristics.
Due to this I can only select the codes from the selected set. Is there any process in which I can write free text up to 30 cars during results recording in quality module? & those characteristics I want to assign to MIC so that when process order is executed the first operation of quality can be done for RR.

All of first let me make it clear, if you will assign a Class Characteristic to the MIC, then it will become either Qualitative or QNT.
Now toeards your questions solution.
Option:-1
As suggested by Venkatr, make the control indicator "Docu. Req" in the MIC control indicator set, page:-2. for the line item of MIC in the insepction plan.
So, the system will prompt you a message to insert a text as described by Venkat, where you can enter the Long text also (Check the button available in the lower part of that small window)
Option:-2
Create a document type for this purpose, and assign a file, having 300 char. to the MIC, with the help of the "Object Link" function of SAP, avaialble with RR screen also.

QM-Result Recording transfer from one material to another material

Dear QM masters,
I have following scenario:
Material A has Material B as a component and Material B has Material C as component. Material A is batch managed. Material C has in-process inspection with partial lot using inspection point functionality. Last result recorded for this in-process inspection should be used for quality certificate of Material A.

Since you are in ECC 6.0 you can also use batch derivation to have the components values copied to the next material being made. In this way, batch values for Material C get copied to material B batch and material B batch values get copied to Material A batch.
Then on the cert, you only need to report the value from the material A batch. No need to set up the result from production chain in the COA profile.
