Retrict f4 help for bw reporting variables

Hi,
just like 3.5 iam trying to restrict the f4 help of a variable in BEx by writing the code in search help exits of the infoobjects but it was not working for me and if i put break point and execute the query in rsrt it was not stopping at all.
if any one worked on restricting the f4 help of bw variable in bw 7.0 kindly guide me.

-> I have a form with only one BUTTON.
-> I have a REPORT with only one USER PARAMETER 'P_1' which is a number.

-> I added the report to form in the OBJECT NAVAVIGATOR of FORM and the NAME OF REPORT is 'REOPRT4'

Here are the following ways
1.with the help of match code objects we can create the F4 Functionality for Field.
Syntax is :
PARAMETERS: p_org LIKE t527x-orgeh MATCHCODE OBJECT zorg.
2. One more thing is we can do it with Search Help's also.
3. Even we can do it HELP Views also.
Help Views:
You have to create a help view if a view with outer join is needed as selection method of a search help
The selection method of a search help is either a table or a view. If you have to select data from several tables for the search help, you should generally use a database view as selection method. However, a database view always implements an inner join. If you need a view with outer join for the data selection, you have to use a help view as selection method.
All the tables included in a help view must be linked with foreign keys. Only foreign keys that have certain attributes can be used here. The first table to be inserted in the help view is called the primary table of the help view. The tables added to this primary table with foreign keys are called secondary tables.
The functionality of a help view has changed significantly between Release 3.0 and Release 4.0. In Release 3.0, a help view was automatically displayed for the input help (F4 help) for all the fields that were checked against the primary table of the help view. This is no longer the case in Release 4.0.
As of Release 4.0, you must explicitly create a search help that must be linked with the fields for which it is offered (see Linking Search Helps with Screen Fields ).
Existing help views are automatically migrated to search helps when you upgrade to a release higher than 4.0.
A help view implements an outer join, i.e. all the contents of the primary table of the help view are always displayed. You therefore should not formulate a selection condition for fields in one of the secondary tables of the help view. If records of these secondary tables cannot be read as a result of this selection condition, the contents of the corresponding fields of the secondary table are displayed with initial value.

Restriction of input help for BPS exit variables

Hello,
In BPS 3.0b, I created BPS variables with user exit in order to restrict the values in the input help of a characteristic (related to the value selected by user of another variable for example).
In IP, I know that BPS variables are not used anymore and we have to create BI variables. But I don't know how to restrict the values of an input help in BI. I tried with the user exit RSR00001 but I didn't manage.
may be is there a possibility to reuse BPS variables ?

How to create dynamic footnotes, if it's even possible, with Oracle
Reports?
A dynamic footnote would be one that appears on a page only if it is
used on that page.
For example:
Regions: South East West North
Widget A
S: $1500.
E: $100.
Footnotes:
S = South
E = East
------------- (page break of group or bottom of page) --------
Widget B
S: $1500.
W: $100.
Widget C
S: $1500.
Widget D
S: $15002.
W: $100.
Footnotes
S= South
W = West
We only want the ones that are used on the page to appear on the footnote

I have a similar problem: Want to display some value from the database in a margin field. I created a user parameter v_Title_Crew and pressetted it in the format trigger of a formula field. Used srw.set_field_char (0, :v_Title_Crew) in the format trigger of the margin field to display the content of the variable. But unfortunately this does not work: It seems to me that the margins are prepared before the query is executed; the variable is not set. Before I simply connected the margin field to the variable in the property palette but this didn't work better. Any idea how to solve this problem?

The output of query is empty ..

Why is it not able to find value of text item :p298_issues ...This i have made it as text item currently ..
actually it is a select list in other page..
and the database source i have set it to ..database column while ithere is no such column present..i need this to be a parameter

..Hello First post was about what i was trying to accomplish..
Some thing in line of global variables..
I needed the value of apex item to be accessed in other page.. it was select list..
There were two ways to accomplish it..One using apex collection or second
using new change item dynamic action and submitting the item..
Using these methods i was able to access the .page item in other page.
Second post i had, was about how I had solved the issue..
I hat forgotten earlier to close the post.

Can anyone provide ABAP code for a customer exit variable please?
Requirement:
0CALYEAR(InfoObject) - ZCALCYR (Variable) Calender year with default value actual year.
Proiperties of variable: single value,mandatory,ready for input,can'be changed in query navigation.
i have read some docs on customet exit variables which i got from SDN but i found it's difficult for me to get this as i am not that good in ABAP.

Help for Refresh report data!

First, the CR report XML datasource without any issues.
But, Crystal Report Viewer pop up a warning dialog window when user click "refresh" buttion on the toolbar of Crystal Reports Viewer.(The user PC didn't install Crystall Reports 2008)
Warning content as below:
Failed to load database information.
Details: The Databse connector "crda_xml.dll" could not be loaded, The correct version of the database client for this database type might not be installed.
I'm not even sure if I'm asking question correctly.
Anyone have any information about this question?

Thank you for your help.
To clarify what I am doing.
I have created a report using "XML and Web Services" by specifying the xsd and xml file. To run the report using different xml data sources, at runtime the app I have created changes the LogonProperties to specify the new required "Local XML File" and the "HTTP(S) Schema URL".
*Crystal Report 2008 runtime is missing crdb_xml.dll *
This DLL seems to be missing from the runtime MSI and the merge module?
Without this I am unable to utilise reports that have "XML and Web Services" connection type and refresh button on toolbar of Crystal Reports Viewer .
Any advice on how to achieve the same thing with "ADO.NET (XML)" would be much appreciated in VC IDE.

Help for -Generate Report using Word template having company Logo

HI GUys,
I am trying to generate a report in PDF using the word template having some company logo as footer to that .
When user click on print ,the graph should be added to the template and its should output the report in pdf.
I am able to achive this when I 'm not using the template,but when I use the template (sample code shown below),its throws the error attached in screenshot.
pls suggest the possible way to achieve this

Why are you deleting the file after creating the report? Are you sure that the image exists at the path specified when running?
Also, in your top screenshot because of data flow there's a high possibility that you actually delete the file before it gets used because there is no connection between the end of writing the report and deleting the picture.
I also suspect there's a chance there might be a permissions issue - you are trying to get the file from another user's desktop which isn't normally allowed - do the file/folder permissions give you access to that file path? I would try putting the picture on your own desktop just to rule that out.
