Returning a malfunctioning videogame?

Hi, I recently purchased a Playstation VITA game on bestbuy.com & received it with no issues.I opened it and put it on the console but it never installed, tried taking it out and putting it back in to no avail.I did a few google searches and it turns out some of these games have been faulty and people have had issues with them.I filled out the paper on the bottom of my receipt with the details to return it back to best buy, placed it on a envelope and shipped it with the game (via post office with a tracking number). On my order information (on the site) it doesn't have an option for "return/exchange" or "refund".I'm wondering what's the process once it's received by best buy? will they email me letting me know they got it?or simply refund me the money? I'm kinda at a loss since this is the first time I've had this issue.-Thanks

    Whenever I make a call: there is the "touch to return call" banner appear, however it fails to function. I couldn't "touch to return call" as it stated.     It's not "touch to return call". It's "Touch to return to call". That banner appears when you are in a call and you have switched to another application. Are you saying that when you touch that, you are not returned to the Phone app?

  • Mic audio problem?

    New to the blackberry, but my daughter owned it previously to me. I did a security wipe, and have started up the phone, as well as run most of the tests in blackberry virtual expert.  As of now, if I try to make a voice call on the phone, the only way the caller can hear me is if I put the phone on speakerphone.  Blackberry Virtual Expert also did not record anything on the mic test, so that test failed, but my voice does go through on speakerphone.  Obviously the mic works, but there must me a setting somewhere I'm missing?  I really don't want to have to use this phone on speakerphone only.

    I called blackberry, & it was still under warranty, fortunately. They sent me most of the phone in the mail minus the faceplate, & requested that I return the malfunctioning part in the box. Then talked me through transferring my info from the old phone to the new one through the computer. All in all, blackberry was very helpful & I am glad to report my unit is working flawlessly. I hope you are able to have the same experience I have had when getting yours fixed.

  • Epson vs. HP

    Hi,
    I am currently in the market for a printer and have found the whole experience quite overwhelming since it is hard to find any really good comparisons online. So i thought that asking here would be my best bet.
    I am a student interested in purchasing an inexpensive inkjet printer (around approximately $130 CAD or $100 US). I have narrowed it down to the HP all-in-one 1510 or the Epson Stylus all-in-one (either 4200, 4600 or 4800...they are all pretty much the same i think). Anyways, my question is does anyone have any input on either of these printers or on these companies in general in terms of a) How well they work with macs b) How long a typical ink cartridge lasts c) how good of quality the printing is?
    Mostly i would be using it for word documents (nothing fancy), though i may print the occasional photo.
    I have an ibook G4 and both printers say they are compatible though I am wary bc my roomate's new Lexmark printer said it was too and after downloading drivers for it, it decided not to work for me (very frustrating experience). I am hoping for something that is user friendly!!
    I apologize if i have somewhat duplicated past questions. I just really need some advice!

    I've had two Epsons I liked (color stylus 800 and 860) and they were dependable. BUT, a year ago I bought a CX4600, and I'm on my fifth one in less than a year under the warranty. First one out of the box had the flashing error light that setup materials said "major problem," call us. The next three had problems with the ink jets, nozzles (went through a set of cartridges each time trying to clean them), ink all over the place on one of them. No. 5 hasn't stopped working, but changing the ink requires me to use about a third of the cartridges cleaning the nozzles. I've had them clog up from one one-copy page to the next. And I use genuine Epson cartridges, no refills, etc.
    The upside is, with all these problems, Epson support did send me replacements and pay for the shipping to return the malfunctioning units. (They also sent me new ink cartridges.)
    I agree with posters above that it's a good company, they support Macs, and I'd probably buy an Epson again, despite all this. But I can't recommend the 4600 all-in-one.

    I figured out how to fix the flashing yellow screen problem that I've been having on my MBP!  Yessssss!!!
    I found this super handy website with the golden answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
    I followed the instructions on this page and here's what I did:
    Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
    Shut down your Mac.
    Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
    Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
    Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
    I went through the 6 steps above twice, just to make sure I got rid of whatever stuff was holding up my bootup process.  Since I did that, my MBP boots up just like normal.  No flashing yellow screen anymore!!

  • CHOOSE Menu Malfunction, HP 48G Always returns "0" regardless of selection

    I have a choose menu with various functions that prove useful when dealing with circles. I programmed it on my HP 50g and transferred it directly to my HP 48g via ASCII Kermit. The choose menu does not appear to highlight a specific choice as it does on the HP 50g, there is no indication as to which choice is selected, and jumping to menu options via entereing their number also does not function. On the debugger, no matter if OK or Enter is selected on any option "0" is always returned, as if I had cancled out of the menu. Any help would be appreciated. Perhaps CHOOSE menus are slightly different on the HP 48G?

  • How do you know if you should return your iPhone 3G due to malfunctions

    Well I have been having some problems with my iPhone lately but I'm not sure if it is something that I can fix on my own or if it is a defect. Here are some of the things I have been experiencing.
    1) Like a few others on the boards my phone has been resetting its volume. Each time I put it to 100% volume when I check what level it is under the settings it always goes down to around 50% or less. I know I did not touch the side buttions because it has even done this while it is charging, while I'm not touching it, or when it is just sitting on my desk.
    2) My sound just completely stops working. THe keyboard click often turns off without me doing so, although it is still marked as being on under settings. My text ringtone often goes silent as well while under settings it says it is supposed to be the "horn" for example.
    3) And just recently my iPhone just completely went blank. I have about 45% battery left and out of nowhere my screen goes completely black. I'll get a text message the screen will flicker and then go back to black. I tried plugging it in and the screen appeared for a second and then went back to black. The phone is on however because I am still able to receive texts.
    I would just really appreciate your guys' help. I'm not sure if I should take my phone back and exchange it. I definitely love the phone but I know I'd love it even more if I didn't have to deal with these issues. And if it is defective do I just go in apple and explain my issue or problem?

    Do a search for "List of common problems" on this forum and cxheck if your phone has these problems too.
    Then write the list down and take your phone back to the place you got it from.
    They should be very helpful and exchange for a new one... but when you get the new one check in the shop that the common problems dont exist on the replacement!

  • IPod Nano: Error Message "The USB device has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it"

    Hi everyone, I just received 2 brand new iPod Nanos for my kids for Christmas, thought I'd be smart and sync them both now before wrapping them so I don't have to be messing around with them on the day. One synced without a problem, then using the same cable, same computer, same USB port, the 2nd one came up with "The USB device has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it" I've tried restarting my computer, unplugging and reinserting the USB. Is there anthing else I can try before returning it? Thanking you for any help.

    I have solved my problem, I ended up ringing Apple and got an awesome lady who told me to reset it by pressing the sleep button and menu button together for about 10 seconds and once it actually turned on for the first time the computer then recognised it, so it's all good, :-) Thank you lovely lady!

    isConnected means was ever connected.
    Check whether isr is closed. If so, the server has disconnected/closed the connection.

  • Random restarts, Software malfunction? Error message.

    Hi everyone!
    I would like to ask for your help. My MacBook Pro started the have a malfunction about 1 month ago.
    It has been randomly restarting by itself. As you can imagine this can be very annoying when you are working on your projects.... (saving every second)
    So basically I brought my mbp to an apple store where they ran all the hardware tests. They said it was the Hard Drive so I bought a brand new hdd and replaced it by myself, reinstalled the system (mountain lion) without a problem. BUT A day after, when I fully copied al my documents from the hard drive I had before (wasn't damaged physically) the restarting started again.
    I would highly appreciate if anyone could advise me what to do... since I changed the hard drive and apple said there are no hardware problems.

  • How can I replace a brand new, but malfunctional iPhone 4?

    Hey, guys.
    I am from Russia, and on our recent trip to Munich, Germany we've bought a new iPhone 4 8gb for my wife at the Apple Store. When we got home in a couple of days, I unboxed it, plugged in and proceed to install iOS6 wirelessly. On the next day we went to the carrier office for a local microSIM, and my wife started to use the phone. But suddenly we've discovered that it won't last even a half of a day: while charged up to 100% overnight, it dropped to 80ish in about two hours, and after dinner break it was already way below 30-40 percent only to discharge completely at 5 or 6 pm.
    And all this while every 3G, WiFi, BT, geolocation or even cellular data is turned off. She just made a couple of calls, so all other time it was in standby. I saw this myself in the evening, you can hold it in your hand and literally look how battery percentage drops one by one. Also the phone is getting hot while screen is lit and extremely hot when it charges up.
    We don't have an Apple store in our country, so I can't get any official support. I can't contact Russian Apple support by phone, because it redirects me to carriers' support and they can't do anything. I didn't find any e-mail address to write to. I started digging this forum and found similar problems in regard of some kind of a bug in iOS 6, as well as some solutions, none of which were working. For instance, I wiped the phone completely, restoring only contacts from icloud and disabling everything power-consuming I could find. Sadly, it didn't help.
    So, I decided to give it to local service for some diagnostics. They ran it and results came back: phone is malfunctional because of some serious internal issues like abnormally increased voltage from the battery, bent microboard, slightly melt components and so on. They said it is beyond repair and is only subject for replacement or disassemble for spare parts. All this with a brand new device.
    You can imagine my frustration. We don't have any financial means to travel back again just to replace it, nor can we send it over via postage service. The only reasonable solution would be to transfer it back to Germany with a random friend, but I am not sure if it is possible to make a replacement, becuase I've paid for it with credit card and there is my name on the receipt.
    So, the question is, what should I do? Is there any way to replace it without my personal presence in the store; can it be done by someone else? And if not, can a friend just give it back, and they would refund it to my credit card? Also, is it mandatory to return it exactly to the same store, or any store in Europe can take it?
    I would really appreciate if someone with a silmilar experience would elaborate on the solution. Thanks in advance!

  • Droid 3 No SIM card found and various malfunctions

    Hi everyone,
    I have had a Droid 3 phone for a few months.  When I first recieved my new phone from the retailer, it had some simple OS malfunctions like resetting my wallpaper and restarting a couple times.  It only lasted consistantly for a couple days so I didn't return it in the 15 day window they give.  However, if I am opening and closing the slide a few times, the wallpaper problem comes back.  Sometimes it does correct itself if I just turn off and turn back on.  Other times I have to reset.  And it will restart once in a while, but this doesn't bother me so much.  Still not the biggest problem I have though.
    Starting yesterday it could not find my SIM card.  After searching online to figure out what that was and where it is located, I also searched solutions.  All places I looked said to try to shim a piece of paper between the card the bar that holds it.  That did not work.  Further advice said to call the manufacturer and have it replaced.  Am I able to do this?  I do not have insurance on this phone.  Would I contact Motorola or Verizon?
    Also starting yesterday, the volume adjustment buttons started malfunctioning, they turn the phone on and off (main power is still there, just turns to sleep or awake).  Once I bring the screen back on and unlock it prompts voice command and shows my contact list.  Tried adjusting media sound and in-call volume too and it ends the app or ends my calls.
    I'm not sure if the missing SIM card and the other problem are related or coincidence.  Or if the whole phone is a dud?  I'm very careful, no water damage, no dropping, but it can get beat up in my purse I suppose. I used to keep it in my back pocket until someone educated me about how bad that can be.
    Any advice?  Specifically can I exchange phones???

    I have a Droid 3 also, and have noticed the wallpaper thing.  I haven't found a cure for that one, but like you said, it is not the biggest problem.  As far as the Sim card, you can go into any Verizon Wireless store and they can replace the Sim card for you.  The only thing you need the Sim card for is for travelling overseas.  Now, this is not true for the Droid 4 or any of the other 4G phones.  The 4G requires the Sim card.  But try swapping it with a replacement from Verizon.  I do not think that is causing your other problems.  It sounds like some of the software may have become corrupt.  I would suggest backing up your data, contacts, etc and then wiping the phone back to factory settings and then reloading the Operating System software.  For more info on how to do this, go to this Verizon page at http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=44747
    I have wiped my device before and it doesn't take that long to reload.  It was a lot faster than wiping my old Blackberry.  I think that will get you back up and running smoothly.  Let me know how things go.

  • IPod malfunction, very frustrated.

    Try different ports on the computer (especially those on the back of the machine) and see if the error persists.

    make sure you have the latest version of the iPod software

  • IPhone 4 total malfunction after iOS 5.1.1 update

    I updated my iPhone 4  to iOS 5.1.1 on Friday, it worked normally for about 24 hours, and now all of a sudden it is completely unusable. If I press the home button absolutely nothing happens. But if I plug it into the charger and then press the home button, the white apple appears, and it boots to the grey screen that you get with a brand new phone. When I then swipe the slider I am asked for a passcode, so I enter the one I used when the phone was working normally. I then get the screen that says to connect to iTunes. Problem is that I'm traveling and so for the moment cannot connect to my iMac at home. (I have a PowerPC G4 laptop with me that can't go beyond OS 10.4 and iTunes 9.1.1.) Can anyone shed any light on this? Is there anything I can do now or do I have to wait until I return home? Or is the phone totally toast or what? I've read some stuff about SIM cards being corrupted with this update. Would a new one restore the whole phone?

    Exact same thing happened to my Iphone 4 on August 4th (366th day of 1 Year Warranty).  When connecting to ITunes, Restore fails and a message pops up in Itunes stating that "There is a problem with your IPhone" and directs you to Customer Support.  I took the phone to  Apple Store, the Geeks there experienced the same problem and were unable to resolve.  They suggested that the phone needed to be replaced at cost of $159.99 eventhough it started to malfunction 1 day after warranty expired.  Endless amount of pleading/arguing failed to sway them into giving me a free replacement.  Phne still not working.  Would changing the SIM help?
