Reversal of settlement from Asset to WBS

Hi Experts,
I have a question regarding reversal of settlement from AUC to asset.
I have so many line items on a WBS element, which i settled to AUC. I can see all the line items that are capitalized to AUC in CJIC screen, where i create settlement rules to settle to asset.
I have created one settlement rule for 4 line items and settled to an Asset 1. After that I have created another settlment rule for another 5 line items to settle to an asset 2 and run the settlement in CJ88 using partial capitalization, since I have some more lines left in the CJIC.
Now, when I am trying to reverse the settlement on WBS system is reversing whatever settled on asset 2 to back to AUC. I want to reverse the line items settled on Asset 1. Is it possible? If so, how can i do that?  I can see all the settlements on the WBS in CJID. But, how can i reverse any settlement that is 3 to 4 months older. We are doing 4 to 5 settlements in a month
Thanks,
Satya

reversal transaction will reverse what was transacted
so you need to reverse for both asset 1 and 2 and then edefine the settlement as required after correction and then settle again

  • How to prevent settlements from AE to wbs with different company code

    Hi gurus,
i'm currently facing a problem regarding settlements from activity elements to wbs above.
we have one controllign areas with various company codes.
For some projects, we have wbs assigned to company code A and activity elements assigned to Company A and B.
We have an automatic settlement rule generation so that we settle all activity element costs to wbs. But, for activity elements assigned to company B, we don't want to settle the costs, we want to go through a sd/mm invoicing between the two companies.
How can we prevent the settlement to take place, apart from manually removing the settlement rule for each activity element?
can we put a validation rule that check that whenever the company code in the wbs is different from the one in the activity element, then the settlement doesn't take place? or remove the automatic settlement rule generation and use cjb1 to generate settlement rules only when an activity element as the same company code as the wbs above. would it be possible?
would the WBS_SETTLEMENT_RULE BADI or badi proj be of any help?
    Any help is welcome.

    Hi Tim,
The transaction CJB1 or CJB2 creates the settlment rules for WBS only, therefore the transactions and Badi WBS_SETTLEMENT_RULE BADI are NOT relevant for the settlement rules of activity and elements at all.
For the settlement rules of activity (and elements) the default rule is inserted, as soon as the user navigate to the settlemenent rule overview screen, if the activity do not have the settlement rule at that time. I am not sure, if there is BaDi or substituation to prevent the system apply this default rule in certain case. Other alternative is to specify the objects during settlement,  e.g. using selection variant with the company code.

  • Asset Value Date determination during settlement from Orders or WBS!

    Hi,
I have a scenario on the asset value date and I am not sure what went wrong, asset side or CO side.
    The scenario is as following:
    1. Asset was converted into the system by 7/31/2008 with $10000.
    2. The capitalized on date is 2/29/2008 on the asset master data.
    3. On 8/31/ 2008, I charged $300 to an internal order and settled the $300 to this asset. The Asset Value Date on the Asset Explorer is 8/15/2008.
    4. On 9/30/2008, I charged #500 to the same internal order and settled the $500 to this asset, the Asset value date on the asset explorer for this charge is still 8/15/2008.
This messed up the depreciation of this asset. Does anyone know how to control the asset value date from the settlement? Do we need to config in Asset side or in Order side? I want the $300 charge's value date is on 8/15/2008 and $500 value date on 9/15/2008. Is this possible?
    Thanks,
    Ting

In the settlement you can fill in the asset values date.
The first posting is the basis for capitalization date(when you don't fill it in manual), when you fill it in for the second time the Asset Value Date it is no longer relefant.
This is only important when you have say in your depreciation key that the depreciation is based on days( see the help on this field)

  • How to reverse a settlement from a prior year so it can be expensed instead

There was an internal order that was settled to an asset within the group asset. This Internal order should have been expensed to a cost center, not settled.
The problem is that this occurred last year and the user has found this out this year. Since the year is closed what is the best option to do this.
The depreciation key is given in the master data for the group asset and not the individual asset level. So, the depreciation is calculated for the asset but at the group level.  Please could someone give a good solution to this problem.

    Hi,
Lets say your IO is A and cost center is B
First check how much dep was already posted to your group asset.
post a write up transaction with ABZU for that amount, so that your asset will have NBV as same as your earlier settled value from IO.
Now post a retirement transaction with ABAVN for your group asset using start date of curr FY.
While posting ABAVN, after simulating you will see the line items generated by the system, in those line items you will find one line item for Profit on sale of asset, position the cursor on that line item and click on *additional account assignments8 button in application tool bar, there mention A in IO field, so that the asset APC value will be re charged to your old IO.
Now again settle your IO -A to your cost center B on FY start date.
this might work, please check  and let me know.

  • Re : How to reverse Depreciation documents for assets

Any body please tell me. How to reverse the Depreciation documents for Asset accounting.

    Hello Ramu,
Asset transactions have to be reversed using the reversal transaction of the application in which the original transaction was posted (for example, invoice receipt). You automatically go to the appropriate reversal transaction when you choose Postings-> Reverse document.
In addition to the reversal transactions for documents created in Asset Accounting, there are also the following reversal transactions in the applications integrated with FI-AA:
Reversal of external acquisition with vendor (Accounts Payable)
Reversal of acquisition with purchase order reference (goods/invoice receipt)
Reversal of retirement with customer (Accounts Receivable)
    Procedure
Choose Postings ® Reverse document ® Other asset document.
    Enter the asset.
    Press Enter
Select the document to be reversed.
    Choose the Reverse function.
Below mentioned is the procedure for reversing Settlement of an Asset Under Construction
    Choose Postings->Reverse document->Cap. asset u. const.
Enter the asset under construction that was settled.
    Press Enter
The system then reverses all documents that were posted during the last settlement.
If you want to reverse a settlement that was posted before the most recent one, you first have to reverse all the settlements, which were posted after the one you want, in chronological order.
You cannot use this transaction to reverse the settlement of assets under construction that were only managed for cost accounting.
Reward points if i had been of help to you.

  • Settlements from revenues/debit-side down payments to receiver fixed asset

    Hi
while settling the WBS to AUC i am getting the below error
settlements from revenues/debit-side down payments to receiver fixed asset  is not allowed
please advise how to resolve the issue
    Thanks
    Rao...

    Hi Rao,
As a matter of system design revenues must not be settled to assets  under construction and/or regular assets.
Please see the note #741828 which explains the problem more detailed.
In some cases it is sufficient to maintain a "dummy" settlement rule (e.g. internal order as a receiver for the revenues) if the BALANCE of the revenue cost element in the settlement period is "0". The note #741828 advises in detail on how to proceed.
As a last resort the note also offers a coding change in case you do not want to follow the workaround (so that message KD561 is suppressed  during settlement). You may thus remove the coding change again after  you have successfully settled.

  • Scenario of multiple Asset from one AUC/WBS

    Hello,
I am having a requirement, where I need to create multiple Asset from one WBS. I checked in the system and able to create more then 1 Asset for WBS.Also if I maintain the distrubution rules for those Asset then settle it accordingly to different Assets.
I just wanted to confirm, will it we the right way of handling this scenario? My main concern is this involves intervention of user for maintaing the settlement rule during final settlement.
Is there any other way to handle this scenario?
    Thanks
    Sarang

    Hello Virendra,
I am not using Investment Managemnt. What do you mean by IM profile?
I understand that I need to maintain the source of cost in Source structure. But even in that scenario the user has to go and maintain settlement rules and create multiple Asset against one WBS.
So how do I tackle it, if client requirement is such that they want to create only one AUC, but during final Asset creation they want to create multiple Assets from one AUC. They dont want to have WBS for each Asset.
    Thanks

  • Error while doing settlement from WBS to P&L Account

    Hello
I am trying to do a settlement from WBS to P&L Account(Expense account). In this case, "Dummy" Prof Ctr is getting derived from 0KE5 (we have maintained a dummy prof ctr). We have set the validations to disallow any postings/settlements to dummy prof ctr. Hence I am getting an error while doing settlement.
Now I am maintaning a Prof ctr in my WBS master data. I am unable to understand why system is deriving dummy prof ctr and not the one maintained on WBS master data. The settlements are working fine when I do them against Balance sheet accounts and proper prof ctr is getting derived, which is being maintained on WBS master data. I am getting trouble only while doing settlement to my P&lL i.e. expense accounts.
can anyone throw some light on this?
    Thks
    Sarang

    Dear Sarang,
You have maintained profit center in WBS master which is not updated at the time settlement to FI that what makes you worried. If you are making FI posting and give WBS as an additional account assignment then Profit center in WBS master will be updated. Here in settlement WBS is sender not the receiver so that profit center will not be updated. In settlement receiver (any) is debited and sender (WBS) is credited so this credit entry will be updated in profit center.
To your second query that when you carry out settlement to balance sheet account right profit center is updated then please make sure, that balance sheet account is maintained in 3KEH with profit center or OKB9.
Your P&L account (expense) receives dummy profit center because it is not able to find cost center which can fetch profit center from the master. So, if you can afford, maintain that cost elements (expense account) with profit center in OKB9.

  • Settlement from internal order to asset under construction

    HI All,
I have allocated some labors hours cost from production cost centers to real order which is created for allocating the internal cost to asset under construction.
when i allocate the labor hours by using the "KB21N" it has used the secondary cost element that is "Internal activity allocation" cost element "1200002".
i have given the source cost element "1200002" which is created as "internal activity allocation" and in settlement cost elements folder i have given receiving category is "FXA" and selected by cost element check box. i selected required entry field in settlement profile and assigned in order type.
when i do the settlement to asset under construction from internal order it is showing bellow errow.
"Settlement by cost element not possible due to secondary cost element
    Message no. KD553
    Diagnosis
You want to settle the secondary cost element 1200002 by cost element to an asset or G/L account, which is not allowed.
    Procedure
Extend your allocation structure R3, so that secondary cost elements are not settled by cost element, but with a settlement cost element."
please let me know the problem and where i did mistake. give me the solution
    thanks in advance
    Mr.Rao

    HI,
in your allocation structure R3 you entered in the view "Settlement cost element" that settlement receiver categoy FXA receives values "by cost element". This is only possible for primary cost elements. For internal activities do not tick "by cost element" but use a settlement cost element with cost element category "22".
    best regards, Christian

  • Reverse of settlement asset

    Hai,
How we reverse a settled asset. i tried in  AIST   TC. while i posting this TC  getting error message like this " line item settlement is not possible for asset"

    Hi,
This error is caused because in asset class No Auc or Summary management AUC has been selected. This will not allow your to reverse the AUC settlement and Settlement must not have done with line item. I would have been done through trnsfer within company code transaction.
Please try to reverse this settlement using transaction AB08

  • WBS cost to be settle to Asset

    Hi Frds,
I have one requirement regarding some asset work is under construction against the project. If work is under construction all cost is booking to project gl(we are using only 4 project gl,500000-labour,500001-material,500002-subcon and 500003-directcharg.),if cost is booking to project gl has to settle the cost at the menth end to project gl,but here once total work has finished after that only project gl cost has to settle  or has to capitalized to the asset.
If i am not settling the project gl some cost will be show in the cji3 report,if i settle that will be capitalized partial amount but that is not correct. This is nothing but AUC(Asset under construction) how will  i do the allocation structure and settlement profile configuration and how will achive this requirement.
    Thanks for your advance help.
    Regards,
    Nivas.

    Hi,
    It is resolved.
We have done the AUC  settings in the system.Once we have done the project settlement cost will go to Asset once work has done(After 2 or 3 months) in AIAB has to create the settlement rule and run the settlement(AIBU),Asset will be capitalized automatically.

  • Status DLV/TECO was reversed after settlement of period 005/2009

    Dear friends,
User is getting this error, when they do the Settlement in KO88.
They are revoking some Process Order status from TECO to DLV after the settlement becasue of some adjustments are pending for that process orders.
I suggested that Reverse the settlement and do the necessary adjustments and rerun the settlement as per the business process.
But in this current period, they changed the Process order status from DLV to TECO. So that they are not getting above error.
Now they are asking why we need to reverse the settlement and do rerun the settlement.
So how to convince the user in this regards.
    Please sugget me.
    Raju

    Hi Raju,
When in previous period user had done TECO and Settlement for a particular Process Order, system might have already posted the Variances on that Order in that Period.
Think of this situtaion...If the user did TECO by mistake for an Order which was in CNF stage during last period, system had posted variances during that period. Ideally, if there is no GR against that Process Order, the Cost loaded onto that Order till the last date of previous period should go to WIP of that Period. But, because, by mistake User did TECO and Settled, system had posted Variances.
Now, during the current period, if the User simply revers the TECO and posts some costs, does TECO again and Settle, system will not object but what about the "treatment of costs" system has done during last month...? Instead of treating the cost (at the time of Settlement during last month) as WIP and showing it in Balance Sheet as Current Asset (System calculates and posts WIP for Order with neither TECO nor DLV statuses), system had posted Variances to Price Difference Account (P&L Debit) as well as to COPA.
If you want to "reverse" the "effect that has taken place during the last month's Settlement", you must reverse the Settlement (of last month), TECO in the current month and post the costs to the Order.
Still, if there is no GR happened till the end of the current month, the Order will not be of status DLV/TECO. So, when User tries to Settle the Order in the current period, WIP will be posted by the system. If the User changes the status of the Order to TECO in the current month, obviously system will calculate Variances.
It's all at the discretion of the User whether to reverse the previous settlement. You need to explain the User clearly the "treatment of costs" done by the system during last month so that they can take wise decision...
    Revert back for further explanation...

  • Settlement to Assets

    Hi
Does anyone know how to settle from a PM or internal order to an AUC or asset using transaction types so as not to lose the original makeup of the capitalised value?
    Tx...

You can only settle from an internal order or WBS to an asset under construction when these are set up as investment order /WBS.
When you have a PM or normal internal order you have firts to settle it to an investment order /WBS.
When you create a investment  order /WBS it (can) create with the release an AUC
For the assets under consruction you need to have a asset class that is set-up as a AUC class.
In the investment profile you assigne the asset class and in asset accounting you assign the default values from that asset class
