RFC fail to reach existing BI system

I have a RFC conenction error. We have setup the BIA and run the initialRfcConfiguration.py. The system tried to create a connection but failed to reach the BI server. We have created the user from the BI system but it was not able to reach. Can you advise what need to be done to get connected. Thanks.

Hello Veiter,
have you checked that the BI system is reachable? ( ping, telnet on BI Port 32<System Nr> )
Call the TREXADMIN standalone tool at /usr/sap/<SID>/TRX<Instance Nr>
- check the connection and logon data under Landscape -> Connectivity
- check if all services are running, especially the rfc service
- check the rfcservice trace and rfc trace on BI site
Please post the error messages that we can help you.
Normally the RFC connection were created by the initial install script, why did you use the initialRfcConfiguration.py manually?

1. DQE admin user ID or password is missing in the system properties. Make sure those properties exist for this system object.
2. Default alias of the system exists.
3. DQE connection successful. If you continue to experience problems, verify the DQE admin user ID and password properties for this system object.

Source system RFC fails after transport

Hi all
in our QA system any transport containing a process chain causes the RFC connection to the source ECC6 system to fail after too many logon attempts.
This doesn't happen when we send the same transport to production.
Any ideas?

thanks, but I had already checked out this note. This refers to the post processing of the transport on BW of client 000 logging onto the BW client to carry out changes, not the RFC connection to the BW ECC source system.
The transport goes through ok, and the process chain can be activated, however at this point we always notice that the ECC source system connection fails with an RFC error, as soon as we get the password reset and changed in SM59 it works ok.

Dear All,
I've configured the Mail Transport in Portal successfully with SMTP as MS Exchange Server and Third-party Mailing servers. But due to some licensing issues a new MS Exchange mail server have been setup replacing the existing ones.
And when i configure the Mail Transport in the system i get the below message on the eMail Window:
"Error: The e-mail server could not be reached when the system was trying to send the message!
javax.mail.MessaginException: 530 5.7.1 Client ws not authenticated
I've configured (all the steps) the same way as i used to before and restarted the server as well! Please let me know the issue to be resolved, the telnet to the mailserver is also successful. I've try'd searching SDN, didn't find the exact solution... any notes on this?

It will depend on your infrastructure, I am not sure and have limited knowledge on netowrks, but in my current landscape both the system were in same domain, but still i had to maintain proxy configuration.
Since it giving authentication error, it feel it could be proxy error.

I want to do RFC to RFC scenario. When I try to import the RFC from the Business System, RFC is not imported. When I looked the corresponding technical system in the SLD, it is having the old IP address. That's why I am not able to import. So, is it possible to change the IP of the existing technical system in the SLD ?

Reason being : We can associate n business syatems with one tech system with and we configure the scenarios via business systems which itself uses Tech system , if we will make changes in tech system later on it will affect the other scenarios also which are using the same tech system

In the Sysem we can see, that the Job RSUPDTEC was created by DDIC but not started.

Issue solved.
In /etc/hosts the first entry was SAPE11.
But it must be sape11, because the instance is sape11_E11_00.
In SM51 we could see that
sape11_E11_00 SAPE11 Dialog Batch Update Upd2 Spool Enqueue ICM active
We changed the entry and restarted SAP.
Then the job can be started.

Sql Server 2012 Login Failed for user "NT Authority\System"

I have installed SQL Server on a new server. I have been getting the following error on each of the database in it.
Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM'. Reason: Failed to open the explicitly specified database 'ABC'. [CLIENT: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]
Here is some information on the instance:
1) Default instance
2) SQL Server, Sql Server Agent, Sql Server Reporting services are running / log on using a domain service account.
3) Sql Server Browser is disabled.
4) SQL Server VSS Writer is running / log on as Local Service.
5) NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM does exists in Login with just public server roles.
I ran a trace on login failed and I get:
ApplicationName: Microsoft Windows Script Host
and it runs every 15 minutes.
Help please?

Hi,
The error was thrown when the SCOM components connected to the backend SCOM databases.
You can specify a domain account, grant it the sysadmin role and the error should be gone.

Do I really need to setup RFC?

Hello,
An RFC is a Remote Function Call and is used to communicate between computer systems.
A system can be on a server. Multiple systems can be on a single server, a single system can exist on multiple servers.
When you setup the RFC Target it is the Host and not the system that is specified.
You can get the host information when logged into the ERP system by running transaction SM59.
This would then be the target Host in the RFC from Solman to the ERP system.
As Miguel suggested this is rather simple. So I hope this has shone a light for you so you may proceed.
But if you continue to have problems please advise.

RFC destination DEVCLNT120 doesnot exist

i am getting some error in production when i am selecting WorkEnvironment-->EquipmentCard in ESS i.e RFC destination DEVCLNT120 doesnot exist.this issue is not there in dev system.

Please check the WorkEnvironment-->EquipmentCard using DEVCLNT120 in the ivew properties. check the required system object for the iview.

RFC Failed: Exception condition "CNTL_ERROR" raised

Hi All,
I have an RFC in R/3 which would be called from the .NET front end. When they run the RFC, they get an error which says
RFC Failed: Exception condition "CNTL_ERROR" raised
Could any one help me what is the work around for this?

Hi Guru,
You are correct. Check the RFC for an call for screen/popup/dialog/user input etc.
Such error occurs for the system is expecting a user input.

Trusted system entry already exists for system SOL

Hi,
Im trying to add a second trusted system with smt1 transaction but the thing is that i've already have an identical SID for another system so i get the "Trusted system entry already exists for system SOL" message.
is there any way to solve this??

In SM59 - in the RFC in question - Press "Technical Settings" tab - then press "Yes" to Load Balancing - this will populate the "Target Host" field.
Then make sure that you here enter the system data for the Target System (Default it will display the Host System data which you will need to replace)
Then go back to SMT1 - Press the "Create" button - and in the Wizard you enter the RFC connection as before... Now it should work.

Unfortunately, all failed login attempts are stored on each clients' local drive. There is no table to hold them.

Table does not exist in system after DB Connect

I must extract data from a oracle db. I create a source system with DB Connect and it's connect successful.
Later, i create a datasource for that source system. but it show the table does not exist in system. I'm sure the table is correct. why?

Check the schema names & ensure it is with the same owner/name as in the DB source table/view. You can also use a simple lookup table which checks table/views in your schema from other standard tables.
