Right fan never runs (but works)???

Hey mac gurus.
SO I have a used (new to me ) PB alum 15" hi-res and the right fan never turns on. I ran the apple hardware test from the original cd/dvd (thanks for that everyone, didn't know it existed until I searched here!) and when the logic board test is run, I can hear and feel the fan spin up.
So I know that power goes to it, but according to iStat and my ear (can hear and feel when the fan is at speed) The Left fan works fine, and I can hear/feel that too.
is it a heat sensor issue?!?

This utility allows you to control the temperature thresholds at which the fans kick in, so you could experiment by drastically lowering the threshold to force it into action.
The version I've got was free and works well, but the current version costs 15USD. Not sure if there is a free trial period.

I found that only Team Member / Workspace creator / Administrator can run
the work flow history report. However, we have a Purchase Order request
which need ask the supervisor for 1st approval and manager for 2nd approval.
But those managers want to see who prepare the P.O. and supervisor done the
first approval before their 2nd approval. How can I can grant the access
right to the manager to run the work flow history report for this purpose? I
tried grant the role "team member" to those manager, however, it will also
allow them to modify or delete the entry as they are the team member, but we
only want allow those managers can approve the entry and view the work flow
history without other acces such as add/delete/edit to prevent the human
mistake.

Fans never run?

Hi all,
My month old 1.83 MBP runs hot (150-160 F) for hours and hours, and I never hear any fans kick in, and no air ever blows out of the machine at all. Is this OK? I'm assuming that the fans should actually force some air out of the machine. My old 1.33 PB used to run the fan when hot and you can feel hot air coming out the back.

Thanks for the advice. I put my ear against the left and right grille, and I can hear a soft whirring noise on the left, which sounds more like a hard drive than a fan. I guess if the fans are running, they're nothing like on my 2-yo PowerBook, which blew some air out the back and was much, much cooler to the touch.
Also, I just ran a hardware test when it was running around 170 F, and it came back with an error! "4NS/1/40000000 TmOP". I'll have to do some research on the boards for this one.

My gut response would be to Boot from that install disc and do an archive install ...
To get the DVD out power it up while holding down the trackpad button

Right-click procedure run not working

Ver 1.2, windows.
The right-click on procedure name, run, is not doing anything. Had a look at options and done a search but nothing seems to be pop-out. Used to work, so what did I "switched" off accidentally?

When running from \sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.exe, do you get anything in the console when trying to run the procedure?

Macbook air's fan is running, but screen is black.

I spilled milk on the top right corner of my macbook air (beside the power button). I immediately wiped it off but I think some may have leaked inside. Now, the screen is fully black, but the fan is still running. Sometimes when I press random buttons, a "ding" sound pops up. I also tried plugging in the power source but there is no green light. I have a lot of useful information stored inside. Can anyone help please?!!

we have installed scsm 2012 r2 (UR 3) with exchange connector 3. We have connected the connector by the workflow Account (domain user "servicedesk" is in local admin group of the sm server and in the sm Administrators group) and have access
to the mailbox on exchange (2010; autodiscovery is working correct). We receive all mails in the servicedesk mailbox on restarting the sm services and see the mails in the opm logs. But no incidents are created and the connector stays in "never
tun" state and does not receive mails any More after the first start. What do we have missed to check? Beste regards Thomas

Magic Mouse won't right click on files, but works fine otherwise. 10.6.8

My Magic mouse just suddenly seemd to stop right clicking on files. I can right click on blank sapces in finder or on the desktop and it gives me the usual drop down menu but as soon as I try and right click or ctrl+click on a file there's just nothing. Can't seem to find any similar problems on google. Any ideas?

Hi, yes. The right click would work at start-up until I click on 'always allow' for permissions for google drive, then it dissappears
Unfortunately I found no other workaround other than to switch to the other views (although I strongly dislike working in the other views). But I just use Drive in my internet browser when I do use it, so it's okay for me to uninstall it. Maybe it's something to contact google about so they can fix it on there side.

I have tried almost everything. When I turn on the power button, all you can hear are the fans and nothing else. Its not very old, does anyone know what I can do as I dont seem to be able to get any support from apple.

By everything, I am assuming you have tried resetting the SMC (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964) and PRAM (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379). If you haven't tried this yet, please do!

The update you're talking about was the firmware update. Hopefully resetting the PRAM gets you up and running. Try resetting it 3 times in a row (hold the keys down until you hear 3 startup chimes).

IBook won't turn on, but fan is running

Okay, I have an iBook w/a recalled battery, which I have already requested. I am waiting for that to come in. Upon the suggestion of the apple website, I have removed my bad battery and am running my laptop solely from the a/c adapter. However, now my comp. won't turn on. The fan is running, but nothing else is happening. Also, I have followed the advice of apple's tech support link, but that has not done any good. Per their advise, I put in the Software Install and Restore disc, and now I can't get it to eject. I need help asap, if anyone has any anwers. Thanks

From the Apple Knowledge Base article on troubleshooting slot load drives:
The drive doesn't eject discs
If the drive ejects discs slowly or appears to be struggling, insert and eject a disc several times.
If the drive does not eject discs, press the F12 key. Holding down the trackpad button during startup should also eject a disc.
Reset the parameter RAM (PRAM) and/or the Power Manager (PMU). PMU reset instructions for iBook G4/PowerBook G4.
If the disc still does not eject, contact Apple to arrange for service.

Left and right fans running at different very different speeds on a 15" i5 Macbook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro i5 and it seems to be heating up a bit more than the first couple of months I had it. I also have istat which shows my left fan at around ~250 rpm's. The right fan is running at around ~2500 to 3500 rpm's. Is this normal or is this something I should take in to a genius bar to take a look at?
The temps of the CPU run from about 50 to 80. Any help or gudance is appreciated.

250 seems to me to indicate an issue - not sure if I have seen ANY computer fan purposely running at that speed - could be the fan or the sensor that monitors the fan is faulty. If high temps are being seen then faulty fan could lead to more serious issues.

MacFreePops causes fans to run

While at school I've really gotten used to using Entourage to check my Hotmail accounts. Now that I have my own computer though, I don't plan on having Microsoft Office (I have Office for Windows already, and iWork). I've been using Thunderbird lately, but just noticed MacFreePops is running at a CPU % of over 190, causing my fans to run almost constantly. After I quit MacFreePops my fans stopped.
I really would like to continue using Thunderbird for email, but is there another client like MacFreePops that won't cause my fans to run?
