Right for Remote View Only?

I am using ZfD3.2sp2 with ConsoleOne 1.3.5 or 1.3.6. I have a Help
Desk
that I would like to grant Remote View of a group of workstations. I
am
able to remotely control workstations as administrator. I have
checked
Remote Operator tab and the users show with Remote View and I have
granted
read right to the WM:Network Address property and write to the DM:ZEN
Remote View property of the Workstation object. I am able to ping the
workstation but receive a failure due to rights issue.
Can anyone tell me what rights I really need to allow a non-admin the
ability to RC a workstation?
Thanks,
Rob Bennett

Rob,
How about this one?

  • Minimum rights for remote view/control

I am in the process of cleaning up rights in my eDirectory because our last Novell admin was quit liberal with assigning rights. What I need to know is what are the minimum rights needed to remote view a workstation and what the minimum rights needed to remote control a workstation. I have been searching Google and the forums for a while with no luck.

    Thanks for the quick response.
I ran through the wizard and then looked at rights it gave the account. It looks like the attributes are as follows:
    Remote Control:
    DM:Remote Control -- write
    WM:Network Address -- read
    Remote View:
    DM:ZEN Remote View -- write
    WM:Network Address -- read
The only thing I wanted to verify was, do I need to give those rights to the user objects as well as the workstation objects in order for this to work? I know some of the techs use C1 and right-click on the user, then select 'Remote Management'. Just not sure if I need to give rights to the user objects as well since the user will be logged in at the time the tech will be remote controlling/viewing.

  • Help networking a Security System DVR for remote viewing

    Hey,
I am trying to network my Security System DVR for remote viewing but cannot seem to get it working. I have read some post on this site as well as many others and followed instructions to the T but to no avail.
    Here's what I've got:
    Linksys WRT54G2 V1 connected to a modem.
My DVR has 3 settings for networking:
    -PPPOE
    -Static
    -DHCP
On DHCP, The DVR automatically sets these settings:
    IP Address: 192.168.1.100
    Subnet:  255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.1.1
and then the DNS is the same as the one on the "status" area of the router settings...
    Port: 10000-10020
I set up port forwarding for 192.168.1.100 for port 10000-10020 selecting "both"
If I pull up the "DHCP Clients Table" it shows the above IP Address but with no name....and the MAC address is something like ee:ee:ee:d4:03:5f.
I have tried to change the DVR to Static and do everything manually but thats not working either.
I created a Dynamic DNS with goddns.org but the DVR seems to have its own one built in that you cannot change. (at the bottom of the network settings it says something like "URL: 123484984.goddns.org----Status:  OK."  But when I try to type that in the address bar of IE it goes no where.)
I hope someone can tell me why its not working.... It was working when we first got everything set up...then it stopped. then I messed with it and got it working but didn't know what I did.  Now its broken again and I don't know what to do.
    -Ian
PS.  When I am connected to the router via LAN cable and I type the internal IP Address assigned to the DVR by the DHCP (192.168.1.100:10000) it brings up the DVR menu perfectly.  But when I try to log into it from a different location...with the external IP address...thats when I have trouble.  I do not think my external IP has changed since I got this router set up.
     Any help would be awesome.

Hmmm... Did that and I can't seem to get it working still. Whats weird is that as long as I am connected to the router...I can access it through the internal IP address.... (if using DHCP its 192.168.1.100:10000 and if using static its 192.168.1.99:10000)
Those both work when set up on DHCP for the first and Static for the second.  But as soon as I type the external IP address with the port it doesn't work.  Its like there is a firewall OR the port forwarding is not working.  But everything on the port forwarding page looks good... Its enabled, set on Both, correct port range... 10000-10020...
    Any Ideas?

  • Questions for Purchaser viewing only

    Hi team,
When creating RFX's, can you alert me of how you insert questions which are for 'purchaser viewing only' ?
There doesn't seem to be a function available on the page. I need this for some scoring issues which i have when posing, 'If not type questions'.
    Many thanks.
    Leon

    Hi
What I understand of your requirement is that you need to keep some questions/ Sections visibility restricted to Purchaser Only . Unfortunately this is not possible. However I can suggest some workarounds which may apply to your business case:
some questions may be applicable for some candidates, yet not for the other. With this in mind, we still need all scores being scored
Here you can set question section scoring method preference to Manually Score. All the questions would be visible to all the suppliers but you can designate which section of questions is meant for which supplier. Once you receive responses from supplier you would manually assign score keeping in consideration your reservations.
You can decide on a neutral score to be given for question that were not meant for the supplier.
In case you simply dont want suppliers to have visibility to all the questions, you need to create  seperate RFx events for such suppliers from within a project. In this case each supplier would only answer the questions meant for him/ her and from multiple RFx events you can select the one to be awarded based on scores obtained.

  • AVMS - No Network settings to allow for remote viewing

    Hi,
I've setup a new PC with the latest AVMS to test the app versus the old one. I setup the server component and it runs fine but when I try to access it remotely via the client app, I cannot contact the server.
Checking the in documentation it says to go into the Main Console, and in the setup menu select Network Server to enable it. The problem is mine is greyed out.
I am just using the basic license for less than 16 cameras.
Did I miss something on install?
    Thanks in advance,
    Bob James

I think I figured it out; I activated the Basic license, you need Basic Plus or Advanced to have these features.
So I put it back to activating the trial and I get the network connection. I tested and Remote viewer works.
Looking at pricing I almost fell off my chair; $1100 for Basic Plus licensing?!
I mean I want to see the viewer from another computer, but for that much I'll just RDP into the box and watch the real viewer....
Wow, what's up with the prices...

  • Using your WVC54GCA camera with TZO DDNS for Remote Viewing

Hi All, for those of you that have the new Linksys Wireless-G Internet Home Monitoring Camera, we posted a new tutorial on the TZO site to walk you through signing up for your free year of TZO included with the camera.
    View the Tutorial here
We love this camera and if you have an older WVC54GC you definitely want to check this new WVC54GCA camera out. It streams video and audio, and works in firefox as well (video only). You can also do a snapshot JPG with it via a direct URL, and it also does motion detection and can even send a mobile video format to your cell phone!

  • What is a good design for remote Views?

    Hi All,
I am thinking how would I design my process for performance consideration in retrieving dynamic values of table/view data.
    The requirement is like this:
    1. We have 50 databases residing on each own server counterpart (50 servers).
    2. Each database has table Patch_LeveL (apps_name, patch_level), which contains  just one row only to reflect the latest patch level applied for the apps on this database. Note that are we constantly on applying service packs for this apps.
    3. On our central monitoring server (db). I create 50 database LINKS for each of the 50 databases.
    4. I created 50 views over these links to make  it centralized to represent  the 50 Patch_Level tables. As   patch_level_view1, 2, 3.....patch_level_view50.
    5. I then create a central view as .... as  union of the 50 individual views Actually I am just planning to do the above activity.
My question is....is this a good design for performance? Can you share be a better approach?
Is there a limitation of joining "union" of 50 views?
    Thanks a lot,

Is there a limitation of joining "union" of 50 views? What can happen is if the connection to one of these servers is interrupted, the big "union" view will not work. As said by above poster MV, with lets say an hourly refresh, helps with this situation as you have the data that was gathered last time (and most likely it is still valid).

  • How to forward port for remote viewing...?

Since getting a Time Capsule I have been unable to use my SlingBox remotely. After doing some research I figured out that I have to forward a port...but i have no idea how...or what port to forward.
Can someone help me out here?

Use Airport Utility. Click on the Manual Setup button, then click on the Advanced icon in the toolbar. Click on the Port Mapping tab then click on the [+] button to add a new configuration. Use port number 5001 for both TCP and UDP ports in the Public and Private fields. Use the IP address you have assigned to your Airport Express that you've connected to the Slingbox. You will find this all outlined in the Slingbox documentation PDF that came with the device. You can also find it at the Slingmedia website.

  • How to improve lag time for WVC-210 for remote viewing

    Hi,
My 2 camera WVC-210 is all setup.  When I operate the camera remotely, I instanly hear the lens motor operate but there is aproximately 30 to 60 seconds lag time before the video is refreshed.  This can be very frustrating at time. I have both cameras set up wireless.
Can somebody first explain to me why this happens and what I can do to improve the lag time.  Perhaps I should tweak some settings.  I would also consider buying what ever gadget is needed to make it work better.
Just to review my problem.  Sound is instant but video lags.
    Thank you all in advance,
    Rod

May I ask if this is also happening if you’re not viewing the camera remotely? Have yoy tried adjusting the sensitivity of the WVC210?

  • Effective Rights for Remote Management

How are an Administrator's Remote Management rights determined with regard to devices and users?
If an Administrator has Remote Control rights to a device, should they be able to remote control that device no matter what user is logged into it?
Conversely, if an Administrator has Remote Control rights to a user, should they be able to remote control that user no matter what device the user is logged into?
    Thanks.

    Michelsr,
it's the most restrictive combination that's effective - allowing
    things like:
    1) you have a device policy that says "allow", but the CEO logins in
and his policy is set to "deny", then you cannot remote control him
    2) you have machines that contain sensitive information, so they have a
policy that says "deny", and a user logs in that has a policy that says
"allow", you cannot access that session.

  • Granting a user admin rights for computer binding only

Our OD is configured to require authentication when binding a computer to the directory. We want to give this responsibility to the help desk department but we do not want them to have the "diradmin" password. We also do not want them to be able to modify users/groups. • Connecting DVR to Airport Extreme for remote viewing of my home 16 camera system. I have tried for 2 days and still stuck. I have secured a dyndns account and have had no luck for 2 days. A detailed list for an amateur would be much appreciated.

I have been trying for 2 days to connect my home camera dvr to the internet through my Airport Extreme. I have read several previous posts on this topic and have not been able to get this completed. I secured a Dyndns account and registered a host domain. I am not clear on which ip address to use and really which is which. Seems like the ip address for the router is different from the ip address that showed up when I secured my dyndns host name. I used the one that was listed on the signup that staed " your ip address is". I have read up on port forwarding and watched UTube and still no luck. Can someone walk me through a steo by step process on how to get this completed? I want to be able to watch my cameras from my iphone, ipad, macbook pro and the internet. I do have a manual that came with the DVR but it seems everything is setup for Windows and a different router, seems like the AE router had different settings. I can usually figure these things out eventually but I am really stuck this time. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

Have you had any luck? I am currently attempting to do the same thing and running into similar issues.

  • SA520W SSLVPN for Remote Users Only 64kbps - Please Help!

I have setup an SA520W and configured SSL-VPN for our small business.  Everything seemed to go smoothly and I tested SSL VPN by logging in and playing around a bit which seemed to be fine.  However, shortly after deployment I started getting complaints about it being much slower than our old VPN through the consumer grade router I just replaced.  I investigated and tested with IE8 and Chrome on Windows XP 32-bit with several different machines, and in all instances it did seem very slow indeed.  While looking around I noticed that the Task Manager under the Networking tab shows the SSL VPN connection as VirutalPassage at 64 Kbps.  Going into Network Connections shows VirtualPassage under the Dial-up heading with device name Virtual Passage SSLDrv Adapter.  Additional properties describe it as an ISDN channel.  I have attached an image of the Task Manager pane.
The router is running the latest firmware of 2.1.51.  It is connected via a static IP that does not require a login, to our dedicated 5 Mbit / 5 Mbit ethernet over copper link to our ISP.  We get great speeds and low latency through everything but SSL VPN connections.  I haven't done anything fancy so the router certificate is the factory default.  Currently we are using the existing 2 SSL VPN licenses that come with the router until we need more access, at which point I want to upgrade to the 25 user bundle.  However, I don't feel comfortable upgrading until I get this resolved, because 64kbps simply cannot work for us for a VPN solution.
Does anyone know how to configure the SSL VPN to not limit at 64kbps?  My engineers are making fun of me for bringing us back to dialup, and I have to agree with them!
Thanks for any help you can provide!

I worked with Blake at Cisco Small Business Support (who is awesome, BTW) and it looks like having Split Tunnel Support enabled was what was making it so slow.  Our network setups is on 192.168.2.x, home users are on 192.168.0.x, and the VPN clients are on 192.168.251.x so I had enabled Split Tunnel Support and setup a Client Route for 192.168.2.0 with Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0.
I disabled Split Tunnel Support, and even though it still said 64kbps the link is going much, much faster!

  • Merge modules for report viewer only - can you help today?

    Hi all,
We are using Crystal 2008, VS 2008, and have an C# application that is using the Crystal reportviewer control to render a report generated server side.
We need the Crystal 2008 reportviewer control, not the 10.5 version that is currently referenced in the studio.  For development purposes, we can install the Crystal 2008 msm.
    But here's my question.......
For our client side install, is there a merge module/msi that will give me just the controls I need instead of using the (larger) merge module/msi from the site?
We need to get our build done within the next day.  Any help in answering this question would be greatly appreciated.  If you can just let us know whether there is any other way than the full msm, that would be very helpful.
    Thanks so much......

    Hi,
We need the Crystal 2008 reportviewer control, not the 10.5 version that is currently referenced in the studio. For development purposes, we can install the Crystal 2008 msm.
For development purpose the CR 2008 must get integrated with VS 2008, also all the correct references should be referenced.
    - How to integrate
    First Install IIS
    then VS 2008
    then CR 2008
How to check that CR get integrated with VS or not -
Open VS environment  go to help about - there you will see the version of CR integrated.
Note:- VS 2008 is compatible with CR 2008 SP0/SP1
For our client side install, is there a merge module/msi that will give me just the controls I need instead of using the (larger) merge module/msi from the site?.
You must have installed the runtimes to run CR on the machine where CR complete product is not installed, Hence the system must have merge modules or server install.
    Hope this helps!!
