Risk maintenance workflow on dev or prd?

Dear experts,
What is the best practice regarding risk maintenance workflow. Should it be facilitated on GRC Dev? Then regular (manual) export/import to GRC Prod to keep them both in sync?
Kind Regards,
Vit

Hi Nesimi,
I know all workflows should be tested before exported to prod. My question was regarding the approval workflow for maintaining the rulset in RAR.
A: Should the WF reside and update the ruleset on D/Q. Then export the rulset changes to Prod to keep the two rulsets in sync.
or
B: Should the WF reside and update the ruleset on Prod. Then export the rulset changes to D/Q to keep the two rulsets in sync.
or
C: WF resides and update the ruleset on Prod. As long as all evidence is on Prod, it is not critical that D/Q ruleset is in sync.
Kind regards,

  • Report Painter:create a transaction, transport DEV to PRD

    Dear all,
I have created my first report in GRR1 (Report Painter / Writer), modifying a standard report that uses the library 8A2 (EP PCA).
In all, i created the following objects:
    1) report ZRPRT (created with T. GRR1 (Report Painter / Writer))
    2) report group Z8XY(created with T. GR51), that contains only this report
    3) Account group Z_CO_XY (created with T. KDH1),with the GLPCT table, field RACCT. Z_CO_XY is  input parameter as group account, via selection screen, of the report ZRPRT.
    Now i would like:
    1. Create a transaction to run this report from the mainmenu.
2  Transport everything,  from DEV to PRD.
I would like to have everything in a PRD, also for maintenance reasons.
If in the future, i need to modify this report, I would be able to bring everything from PRD to DEV to make those changes (if, in the meantime, the objects were deleted from DEV, for whatever reason)
Please, can you give me an explanation step-by-step what I should do. Any advice is welcome!
    Thank you in advance.

Add custom reports to an existing Report Tree (SERP)
    For example:
Add custom report to:  Project System/Information System/Financials/u2026
    Find u201CPS91u201D from SERP
    Add a report to PS91
The trick is find the existing report tree related to standard main menu.
Or create a new report tree where you house all custom or selected reports in one place.
May also consider using area menu (SE43): create a structure, for example, to house all custom reports.  A useful tool to manage custom/specifc reports

  • SAP Query Creation - Where to do? Dev or Prd

    HI,
We have a two system landscape as DEV and PRD.
We want some query to be generated in PRD. So whether we have to create in DEV and then transport the report to PRD or Can i directly create query in PRD and then assign one transaction code for that?
Is there any drawback in creating Queries in PRD directly?
Please give a idea about queries.
    Regards,

    Hi Lijo,
That is precisely what I had in mind when I said that <i>"....the SAP Query, in general, is only used to SELECT the data..."</i> !!
Though the purpose of the coding section is only to enhance / customize the display, there's nothing to prevent a DELETE / MODIFY statement in there.
If you think that there is a chance that someone might access the query in the production system in change mode, then you have a major risk. But I think it is not a problem to prevent access to SQ02 in the production system. But then, the developer who writes the query (I guess that's you in this case ) should also exercise extreme caution in handling this part. NEVER use any DML statements here (DELETE / MODIFY / UPDATE).
Hope this information has been useful.

  • Transporting active version of datasource from DEV to PRD

    Hi,
When I transport a 3.x datasource from DEV to PRD, the version I am getting in PRD is 'modified'. In DEV we have both modified and active versions and there's no difference between them. When I try to activate the modified version, it says that I have to maintain the transfer rules associated with the datasource. Then it takes me to the transfer rules display but I am not sure what to do next...how to activate the datasource. How do I get the active version from DEV to PRD?
    Thanks

  • Transporting SQ01 Customer Query from DEV to PRD

    Hi All,
I am not sure whether I am in the right forum, but maybe you still can help me.
I created SQ01 for Customer Master query in our DEV environment, and i assigned t-code for the query.
Can i transport it in our PRD? Or it is more advisable to create the t-code in PRD directly?
Please note that the query is both existing in DEV and PRD.
    Hoping for your positive feedback.
    Thank you.

    Hai TINA,
Hope you would have created T code using SE93 for your query program.
and your SQ01 program may be like this, and in the program the bold letter differs from client to client.
    AQ    FU  SYSTQV000003XXXXXXX===
    AQ    IC   SYSTQV000003XXXXXXX===
So while transporting it may give error that the program is not in the client, or while executing the T CODE it may give dump.
Hence create the query in production client and create the T code for the program and assign to the users.
    Some tips may be helpful:
    1. Always Use T code : SQVI to create the ALV report, user friendly that SQ01.
    2. In case if you are making Customer master details report, if you are include all customer master tables, in case for some customer if some details were not maintained then the details will not displayed.
In that case, in the joint between two respective tables, right click and change it to Left Outer join.
    3. If some data is replicated, then need to change the table path, like in case of billing always start from Biling item then to Billing header.

  • Different Recipients of Alerts in DEV and PRD Systems.

    Dear All
I wanted to know if it is possible to configure different set of recipients for an alert category in XI DEV and XI PRD systems.
For example i have two groups "Group A" and "Group B" which should recieve alert mails. For this ,
we can create 2 different roles in XI  DEV  i.e. "Role_A" and "Role_B" and assign user id's to these roles  and then assign these roles to Alert Category using the "Recipients Via User Roles" option .This is done in XI DEV system.
My question is it possible that alert mails are just sent to "Role_B" in the XI PRD system. (not to ROLE_A). As ideally we would be transporting the alert categories from DEV> QAS> PRD can we have different recipients configurations in DEV and PRD.
    Please suggest.
    regards
    Nilesh.

    Hi Nilesh,
Yes it is possible, Just change the receipent of alert category on PRD system (you can change receipent anytime you want).

  • 10g Upgrade Order (DEV - QAS - PRD)

If I am upgrading Oracle 9.2.0.6 to 10.2.0.2, what issues will I face if I upgrade the landscape in the order of DEV, QAS, PRD.
I will wait a week between upgrades.
    Will transports fail?
Will SAP face any issues having different Oracle versions?
Do I have to upgrade DEV, QAS, PRD at the same time?

-> transports will not fail as long as the sap release will not change...
-> normally all sap systems should run smoothly on supported database platforms...10g should be no problem...the three system reside on different hosts?
to be sure (sap states that different kernel releases within one system landscape can lead to problems) try to keep the time between QAS and PRD very short and avoid transporting...
-> no, you don't have to upgrade all systems at the same time...a week between DEV and QAS is enough

  • 3-tier vs. 2-tier system architecture (DEV- QAS- PRD)

    Dear Xperts,
I would like to know your opinion about a 3-tier (DEV->QAS->PRD) vs 2-tier (DEV/QAS->PRD) BW system architecture.
Why should you choose for 3 instead of 2, or the other way around. Thus pro's & cons.
    Thx.

ps xcuse me 4 the cross-post in the 2004s part. It should be posted in this forum.

    Hello
2 Tier architecture will have Presentation Layer and DataBase Layer. So each and every time we have to access the Database directly and this may affect the DB Performance and if the number of concurrent users are more then it will be worser.
in 3 Tier case another layer "Application layer" has been incorporated as an intermediate between the above said 2 layers and this prevents the direct access to the DB. The performance is not highly affected. can Manage multiple concurrent users.
Heard about 4 tier came and installation process going in in Gulf. (not sure)

  • Different Sales Organization in CRM DEV,QAS,PRD

    Hi,
Is anyone knows how to correct inconsistent sales organization in DEV, QAS & PRD, meaning number series of sales organization units in DEV is not same with the QAS and PRD. With this situation, pricing in CRM online and internet sales is not consistent with what in R/3 and i'm getting error while doing CRMD_ORDER.
    Please help! Rewards await.
    Thank you very much.

    Hi Ravi Yadav,
    Thank you for the reply!
I tried transporting the Org model but still when I tried creating a sales order using CRMD_ORDER, the system still unable to get the right base/list price and then when I check one of the condition tables (CNCCRMPRSAP004 & CNCCRMPRSAP005) it still contains the wrong sales org unit number series. Do I need to do the initial loading R3AS (R/3 to CRM)? to overwrite the entries of those condition tables?
Please advise what to do next.

  • Defining SLD Target Systems for DEV, QAS & PRD

In a 3 tier XI landscape (DEV, QAS, PRD) which of the following two scenarios is best?
    1. In the SLD define each DEV Business System with a target of the corresponding QAS Business System and define each QAS Business System with a target of the corresponding PRD Business System.
    DEV ---> QAS ---> PRD
This means that we export ID objects from DEV and then import them into QAS. The objects then need to be exported from QAS for import into PRD
    2. In the SLD define the DEV Business Systems with 2 target systems relating to corresponding QAS and PRD Business Systems.
    DEV --> QAS
    DEV --> PRD
This means that the same export from DEV can be used for import to both QAS and PRD.
Currently we have scenario 1 implemented but I am thinking of changing this to scenario 2 which I believe is a better solution as only one export is required and it is guaranteed that the same objects are being imported into QAS and PRD.
    Any thoughts or comments?

    Hi Mark,
I dont think thats a good thing to go with. When you are exporting, how are you going to control in CMS as to which environment you are going to export?
CMS itslef works on the principle of Develop->QA->PRD. This way, when you are in QA and found some bugs and fix them, you can export them all to QA. Finally you assemble them at QA and finally import them to PRD. This way, all the chaged objects later on would also get imported to PRD automatically.
Also As per my knowledge, in SLD, one target bus sys can have mulitple sources but the converse is not true.

  • FB60 screen change layout different between DEV and PRD

    Hi,
I'm having problem with transaction FB60. When i try to change the layout in PRD, in screen Edit System Setting, some of the field showing 0 length. For example in WBS element field, in DEV show length 24 but PRD show length 0. I try to compare the version but it is same (program & table structure - ACGL_ITEM). When I debug the program, found out that it will get the structure from sap internal c program call 'AB_GET_CX_DATA'. So, maybe this program version are different between DEV and PRD.
Anybody knows what is the cause of this problem? Or maybe somebody can tell me how to check sap internal c program.
    Thank you very much.

Yes. FB60 is Enter Vendor Invoice. In this screen you can see a table with column such as GL Acct, Debit/Credit, Amount in DC, Cost Center and others. You can add or remove some of the field using Table Setting and create Screen Variant. My problem is, the length of WBS Element and Profit Center field is 0. How to change the length.
I already searched in forum but I only found how to create screen variant.
    Thanks.

  • Print preview for so10 differs btw dev n prd

    Hi experts,
how come the preview of so10 between prd n dev is different even the line spacing n font is the same
i use dot matrix printer to preview

    Hi ester,
    1. how did u transport the standard text
       from DEV to PRD?
    2. Probably the contents of standard text
are different in DEV and PRD.
       Other wise its not possible.
    3. In SO10
The STYLE and FORM (Default is SYSTEM)
may not have been transported to PRD
( in case its ur own style and form)
    4. Maybe the SYSTEM FORM is different
      in both servers.

  • Can we migrate SharePoint Designer 2013 workflows from DEV to UAT to Live without any issues? Any bad experiences?

    Hi there,
    1. Can we migrate SharePoint Designer 2013 workflows from DEV to UAT to Live without any issues? Any bad experiences?
    2. When we deploy these workflows - does IIS need a restart?
    Thank you.

That depends, did you create reusable workflows? Those can be deployed to another environment (of course depending on dependencies within the workflow itself)

  • DEV/QA/PRD

Each time that we migrate our environment to the next version
of ColdFusion, programmers in our customer base are modifying their
code to determine in which Life Cycle server (DEV or QA or
Production) they are currently running. The programmers typically
are checking part of their file path or a server name to determine
which phase their code is executing in. Is there an environmental
way to deal with this? Designating a physical server as "DEV" and
being able to check that value would be nice. Designating a JVM as
"DEV" would be better, such that a "DEV" environment could be on
one physical server, and "QA" and "PRD" could be in separate JVMs
on another physical server. Is there a nice 'clean' way of doing
    this?
Thank you in advance - Jacques

I'm looking for a way that the programmers may simply ask 'is
this code executing in DEV, QA, PRD?' They need to know which level
of the stack (DEV/QA/PRD) they are running in. Their code may exist
on one of our internally consolidated stacks (not accessible from
the Internet), one of our consolidated stacks in the DMZ
(accessible from the Internet) or possibly in non-consolidated
stacks (a business group that is using their own stack rather where
everyone else is, perhaps internal, perhaps external). Depending on
the load of servers, failures, migrations, etc., the code may be
existing on any one or several different servers across dozens of
servers. Adding/removing server names to a checklist is not ideal
in our situation. It would be preferable if the code could simply
query if it was running in Development, QA or Production so that it
could act/react (security, performance, etc.) appropriately. In our
WebSphere environment, we are able to set a custom property per
JVM, and I was hoping to accomplish the same type of management for
our ColdFusion environment. Thanks for your input.
