Rmic error on appserver 9.0

hi,
i just tried to generate an idl for my EJB 2.1 using rmic utility but gives me an error using the sdk bundled with the appserver 9.0;
Class javax.ejb.EJBObject not found in interface ...
Class javax.ejb.EJBObject not found
Class javax.ejb.EJBHome not found in interface ...
Class javax.ejb.EJBHomei was able to deploy my ejb successfully but gives me an rmic error. please help. i tried the rmic from sdk with appserver 8.2 and it works fine. thanks.

We are having the same problem.
The workaround is to increase your permgen from the default to a higher value. We use 256MB, which gives us about 9 deploy cycles before needing a domain restart.
<jvm-options>-XX:MaxPermSize=256m</jvm-options>

You have rmiserver.RmiServerIntf, so you should have rmiserver/RmiServerIntf.java; you should execute javac and rmic from the directory containing rmiserver, and the command lines should be javac rmiserver/RmiServerIntf.java and rmic rmiserver.RmiServerIntf respectively. But as that appears from its name to be an interface not a class it should be rmic rmiserver.RmiServerImpl or whatever the implementation class is called. Or else fix its name to eliminate this confusion.

Error installing AppServer SE1

Hi,
There appears to be a problem with the installation of Application Server Standard Edition One.
I have attempted to install the windows version using the basic process for Portal. I have read and meet all of the system pre-reqs and have read the naming conventions for the appserver instance, etc.
Once the installation begins, it gets as far as 28% and asks for Disk One's Disk 2, but doesn't let you progress after this, regardless of the path entered.
One other person I have spoken to had exactly the same problem. Could you please check this.

I also just bought a 4630 and have the same problem (Windows XP) BUT after finally figuring out how to enter numbers on the key pad I was able to get the device to recognize and accept my wireless connection HOWEVER when attempting to print the software claims it could not communicate with the printer BUT the printer worked just fine and I was able to get at least 8 pages of high quality text.
So, it looks as though HP is SNAFU, the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing.
I'll keep playing with the software to see if I can clean up this mess.

Time Out Error while execution of messages

Our Env. is XI 3.0 , and this is related to PRD system,
This problem is relating to an Outbound service. This particular message gets executed in some times and in some cases it throws Time out Exception .
This is the following log which is from Audit log of that message :

And when checked in trace file of dev_server0 , i can see some error messages relating to rfc logon load(SMLG) , but I have checked in SMLG and load balancing is defined over there and the status is also green.

Rmic and "contains an invalid return type."

since two days, rmic does not compile anymore. rmic is called via an Ant job like this:

And I get errors like

in the Eclipse output console. On the other hand, the Session interface looks like this:

If I comment out all methods of Session, other messages appear, such as:

All classes compile fine with both Jikes and the Eclipse compiler.

Sorry, even if I comment out Enumeration, rmic will not compile the classes. To me it looks like something in the interface for Session is wrong, but I dont know what it is...

Various errors on self-monitoring (non-Prod) evironment

Hi all, i do have few issues that i see on the app srv log for PPM, any idea whats causing this errors:
- Component Performance metric calculations may be inaccurate or incomplete (usually getting this)
- Errors in AppServ log "Communication to Monitor Servlet failed" (always)
- Component objects not fully cached (rarely)
- No Component PeopleCode trace information (always)
I do get data populated in current and history tbls for PPM.

1.0.2.2? Is there something stopping you from upgrading to the later

HRMS sign on page issue with PIA

Hi all.
I've installed Peoplesoft 9.1, PT8.52 (Oracle 11G 64 bit database) on windows 2008 server 64bit and an HRMS DEMO DB on a Virtual machine PSDEMOVM.
I also installed Oracle 11G client 32, and configured a PS client workstation on another virtual machine PSDEMOWS
I did all the steps and now, from the server machine, I entered PSADMIN and created a domain following all the configuration steps.
I installed PIA also, user PTWEBSERVER/PTWEBSERVER.
website: ps
Auth_Token_Domain: companyname.com
I am not able to access the application.
PTWEBSERVER exists in the database and has the same 'encrypted' password as in 'configuration.properties' file.
No errors found in both appserv and webserv logs.
The login page http://psdemovm.[companyname].com:7180/psp/ps/?cmd=login&languageCd=ENG gives me the 'Internet explorer cannot display the webpage' error message.
I tried using: http://psdemovm:7180/ps/signon.html it shows an error message 'Your URL should contain .companyname.com' and redirects me to the URL mentioned above and with the same error message.
One more thing, I am able to access WebLogic Console page using http://psdemovm:7180/console.
What am I doing wrong? what should I check?

It worked when trying to access using 'localhost' not the name of the machine.
But it showed me the following error:
'CHECK APPSERVER LOGS. THE SITE BOOTED WITH INTERNAL DEFAULT SETTINGS, BECAUSE OF:
bea.jolt.ApplicationException: TPESVCFAIL - application level service failure.'
They say this error might be related to the PTWEBSERVER user, but nothing found yet.
And It didn't work when trying to access it from a different PC on the network using the machine name.
Update
I checked the following:

Bea.jolt.ServiceException: Invalid Session

Good day to all!
I know that this is common problem, but if you kindly point me in the right direction, that would be more appreciated. I am currently running PT8.50 HRMS 9.1 DMO on Windows 7. The PIA is giving this error:
CHECK APPSERVER LOGS. THE SITE BOOTED WITH INTERNAL DEFAULT SETTINGS, BECAUSE OF: bea.jolt.ServiceException: Invalid Session
When logging in, I get that the app server is down. I am in familiar with why I see app server is down. I also believe that I understand why I am getting the above error. During installation, I put my own password for PTWEBSERVER as oppose to the default. I thought I updated the password with the default, but doesn't seem to work.
I also understand to check the appserver logs, but I am not familiar where it is located, so if 'I could get the location of these logs, I will post the log and that would confirm if it is a password issue, or not.
And if I need to uninstall and reinstall PIA, please tell me what I should do there. Thank you and Be Blessed

Thank you for that helpful tip. I misunderstood Bob's post then. I though the updating was only if the acct was locked (which it wasn't because I checked). In any rate, I did rerun the script and the script was successful. Just to be sure, I logged into datamover via bootstrap mode and just typed in exactly the command that was given. I didn't miss anything I am assuming correct?
I am still getting the same error message, even after updating the password. Here is the log, maybe this will help. Be Blessed

DB2 Issue - The specificed library could not be loaded

When we start our application, we are getting the following error:-

Database is up and running. Stored Proc is being used by another application, in websphere. What else could be the issue?

Cannot log in after migration from 3.4 to 4.0

Moving from LSES11/Vibe3.4 to SLES12/Vibe4.0..
After struggling with JCE files and Encryption things i finally get catalina.out and appserver.log errorfree...
up to the moment when i want to log in..
i use the login mask in any browser and get the following stack into the appserver.log.
It seems like it doesn´t know which method to use or it has some old stuff in any config file.
Does anybody have a clue what´s on here?

I seem to have the same problem as Gerd.
Recent 3.4 installation updated to 4.0. My Vibe site is running but can only display content to guest. When you click login and submit credentials, the page displays a tomcat 500 error and no more vibe content.
appserver.log repeatedly shows errors in the LDAP user sync process and Gert's exact line:

HTTPS To External Server (Sender Channel)

Hi Guys,
If I can please get some assistance with this issue. Have been trying to resolve it for a few days but no luck. Bit of background I am trying to connect to server e.g. https://www.xyz.com/download inorder to download xml files. The connection is going through port 443. When I do a connection test from SM59 nothing happens it just keeps on waiting. However we have checked the traffic through firewalls etc and logs are showing that the PI server actually does the full hand shake and file downloads with the external server but I can't see any files or any response back.
Checked the HTTP trace and can see the following two errors:
IcmConnRollInWP: AppServer context already released [icxxthr_mt.c 3809]
IcmPlAllocBuf: MpiGetOutbuf failed (rc = 14(MPI_ESTALE: outdated MPI handle)) [icxxplugin_m 1142]
However they are not making too much sense. Can someone please assist.

I should probably explain this a bit more.
Case 1:
When I goto www.xyz.com (without specifying any ports) and using our proxy settings.
I can get an ACK 200.
Case 2:
When I goto www.xyz.com @ 443 (while using proxy).
I get a proxy time out (Don't understand why)
Case 3:
When i goto www.xyz.com @ 443 directly without using Proxy (as it should be) system just hangs in there- I dont' see anything. However in the background from the logs we can check that a full handshake and data transfer was done. So where did that data go?
Some other information:
1) Port 443 is active for HTTPS
2) NO SSL certificate is required as authentication is username and password.
Can someone please assist.

I am installing this in a virtual environment. All other apps (Planning, Essbase etc) installed successfully.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

When you installed System 9 in your virtual environment, did you break out the install on to seperate severs? For example, Shared Service on one server, Essbase on another server, Planning on another, etc etc? The reason I ask, is that i just completed our System 9 intall and i found that it's often easier to rebuild the server rather than troubleshooting some of these errors. Just my experience
