Role for just importing documents to workspace

It seems we need to add users to content publisher role to import document to file system so they can attach them to a cell in planning. That role gives them data source management. Is there a better role for just importing documents?

Only roles that are available are here User Security Administration Guide
Yes it is the content publisher role and it allows them to perform data source management. You can raise an SR and request for an enhancement.

  • How to create authorization role for just displaying query prefix Q and X.

    Hi Expert,
I hope someone can help me on how to create authorization role for just displaying and executing  BEX  Queries prefix Q and X. I'm currently using SAP BI 7.1.
Actually, I already created one role called : Z_FORINDO_ONLYDISPLAY_QX
where I only put in the Authorization Component (in the Role Maintenance - Tcode 'pfcg'):
    -->Manually Business Information Warehouse
--> Manually Business Explorer - Components
Activity : Display, Execute, Enter, Include, Assign
    InfoArea : *
    InfoCube : *
    Name(ID) of a reporting component : *
Type of a reporting component : Calculated key figure, Restricted key figure, Template structure
--> Manually Business Explorer - Components
    Activity : Display, Execute
    InfoArea : *
    InfoCube : *
    Name(ID) of a reporting component : Q* , X*
Type of a reporting component : Query
But, the problem is I still can make changes on that queries (Q* and X*). Even, I still can run query with prefix Z. I use S_RS_RREPU Tamplete for Query Display and execution.
Please assist. Very much appreciate your help. Thanks.

  • QA role for STMS import

    Hi experts
I need your help for understand the game of roles :P
Now I use the QA but I need to add a new filter for import over Quality System.
    My scenario is this:
D01 -> Delevopment system and domain controller
Q01 -> Test system and Quality Assurance System
    P01 -> Production system
I want create a different Role for a particular user.
The first problem is that I want to enable the developer user on Q01 to import their change request (only his own CRs)
Do you know what are the roles that I can see for do this?

You can restrict transport type with this object S_TRANSPRT
    Options
    CLCP     Client Transports
    CUST     Customizing Requests
    DTRA     Workbench Requests
    MOVE     Relocation Transports
    PATC     Preliminary Corrections and Deliveries
    PIEC     Piece Lists
    TASK     Tasks
    TRAN     Transport of Copies
    Activites
    01     Create or generate
    02     Change
    03     Display
    05     Lock
    06     Delete
    23     Maintain
    43     Release
    50     Move
    60     Import
    65     Reorganize
    75     Remove
    78     Assign
    90     Copy
    Still you want
    DEVCLASS
You canu2019t restrict the user can import only his own request (which is created by user)why because there is a option to change owner of the Request he can change the owner and then import.
But Transport activates are BASIS activity better to avoid providing this authorization to functional consultant  or developers

If you used Import you should be able to edit the resulting file in Buzzword. Just select the document in your organizer, open it up and start typing.
If you used Upload then you won't be able to edit the file in Workspaces.acrobat.com.

  • OIM 11g R2 Available Roles For Organizations Is Empty After XML Import

    Hi,
When we exported Organizations in OIM via Deployment Manager and imported them back, available roles on Organizations are gone.
To be exact; Hierarchical role assignments are gone, which are done using "include-sub-orgs" check while putting organizations to Roles.
    To understand the problem,
We took a single organization, exported it, changed only organization name in the XML and imported it back. The results are the same.
We included every possible dependency in the xml to see if this was the issue, apparently it wasn't.
    Furthermore,
On the Role screens' Available Organization's tab, when we check the "include sub orgs" box, it works fine on manually added organizations. They are shown on Available Roles for the Organizations.
But this doesn't work on imported organizations.
Is there a trick to this in R2?
How can we export-import the organizations and still see the available roles?
    Thanks,
    Erdogdu

    Hi All
Any updates please . Can any one just update whether creating a custom attribute on User Profile adds the attribute in the list of attributes for membership rules for roles .

  • Importing a pkg with rely on server storage and roles for access control

Hi we run std 2008 r2.  I'm reading documentation on prot levels during pkg import to catalog at
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms141747(v=sql.105).aspx but unfortunately the definition of prot level "rely on server storage and roles for access control"
isn't clear.  They used the prot level name to define it which didn't help me.
This option looks appealing but it isn't clear why I need to enter a pswd when choosing this option.  Will my peers need to know that pswd when they export?  Will the sql agent job need to present that pswd when running?  If I just keep current
prot level "encrypt with user" will the agent job be able to run it?  I'm sure it (agent) isn't running with my creds now.  Also, how can I tell what prot level it was deployed with last?  I rt clicked on the pkg in the catalog
and don't see anything obvious about that.  I already understand that on export prot level is changed to encrypt with user.
I'm going to look at the sql agen job right now to see what creds it runs with.

First thing to understand is that protection level is used for determining how package (dtsx) file have to be protected. Once package is deployed in server and executed from agent, the conventional way is to use method of configurations or parameters if
2012 to get required connection etc values and execute using it. It never uses the values that were set during the design time. So it doesnt matter what protection level was so far as its based on config
However if you're planning to export existing package to your system and do modification thats where protection level comes to play. If its set to any of ENcryptSensitive... type value then you'll to provide the value (either a passowrd or your userkey which
it takes automatically from login info) to see the sensitive info (connection info, passwords etc) The package will still open and so far as you manually type in missing values you will be able to execute the package. If protection level is set to one of ENcrptAll
then you will have no way to open package itself unless you provide password/ have correct userkey.
The rely on server storage option uses sql server security context itself ie it doesnt do any encryption within package by itself but will assume values based on sqlserver security. This is used when you store package itself in SQLServer itself (MSDB)

  • Can I use OCR for just a single image in a text document?

    Hi All
I have a 37page pdf document that is mostly recognised text. i think this document was created in MS word then converted to PDF. I did not make this document.
There are images inserted on some pages that are scans from another document. The document has footnotes, page numbers, title, text paragraphs on the pages with the images i want to ocr. I have already used the highlight an sticky note functions for some of the recognised text and don't want them lost.
I have tried using OCR for the whole document but it doesn't work (renderable error).
Can I use the OCR function just on a selected image within a document that has renderable text for the most part?
    thanks.

  • EAM ID based or Role based? Why settle for just one?

    G'Day All,
I've raised a question in the following blog, however I would like to open it up to other people as well so they might get something out of it and in the process might share their own thoughts on the matter at hand.
    ID-Based Firefighting vs. Role-Based Firefighting
So this is where I am at this point:
From what I can gather so far, my understanding of EAM ID/ROLE based is as follows:
    - Id Based: Logs in using own U.ID and through GRAC_SPM accesess FFID from the GRC Server and logs into the system assigned to them (ECC, SRM, CRM etc)
Only one user at a time can use a FFID.
Firefighter need not exist in every system assigned to them due to central logon however they need to exist in the GRC system
Knows exactly when FFID is being used as he/she has to login so has a psychological effect (good thing)
Better tracking of FF tasks - Specific log reports with Reason Codes. Bonus point from Auditors!
Two Log ins so potential to commit fraud. (1 action using own UserID and 1 action using FFID)
Could be hard to track and find out when a fraud has been committed so can be a problem with auditors.
ID Based -> GRAC_SPM : TCode for Centralised FFighting -> You will see FFIDs assigned to you
ID Based -> /n/GRCPI/GRIA_EAM : TCode for DCentralised FFighting -> You can see  the FFIDs assigned to you
    - Role Based: Logs into the remote system only using U.ID, so everything gets logged against that one ID.
Multiple users can use the FFROLE at once.
Firefighter has to exist in every system assigned to them - so multiple logons.
Hard to differentiate between FF tasks and normal tasks as no login required  So easy to slip up
Time consuming to track FF tasks - No Specific log reports. No Reason Codes
R.Based -> GRAC_SPM : TCode for Centralised FFighting -> You will see FFROLEs
R.Based -> /n/GRCPI/GRIA_EAM : TCode for DCentralised FFighting -> Not applicable so wont work
So based on this there are pros and cons in both however according to SAP only one can be used. To me personally,  it makes more sense to get the best of both the worlds right? So here is my question why can’t we just use both?
. Really critical tasks -> FFID
. Normal EAM tasks -> FFRole
Alessandaro from the original post pointed this out:
"Per design it isn't possible to achieve both types of firefighting at the same time. It's a system limitation and hence to configurable."
Well this is what I can't seem to get my head around. For a FFID, there is a logon session so it has to be enabled and as far as I can tell there is no way around it.
However for FFRole, there isn't such limitations/restrictions like starting a separate session. FFRole is just assigned to an end user for him/her to perform those tasks using their own user ID.
So in what way is it different from any of their other tasks/roles, other than the fact that they've got an Owner/Controller assigned to the FFRole? and
What is stopping us from using it when ID based is the default?
If I were to do the following does it mean I can use both ?
        . Config Parameter: 4000 = 1 (GRC System) -> ID Based
        . Config Parameter: 4000 = 2 (Plug-In)  - > Role Based
Please excuse me if my logic is a bit silly, Role Based firefighting is only done on Plug-in systems so the following should work just fine:
       . Config Parameter: 4000 = 2 (Plug-In)  - > Role Based
However for ID based, it is a Central Logon, so the following is a must:
        . Config Parameter: 4000 = 1 (GRC System) -> ID Based
Which means both ID/Role based can be used at the same time, which seems to be working just fine on my system. Either way I leave it you experts and I hope you will shed some light on it.
    Cheers
    Leo..

    Gretchen,
Thank you for thoughts on this.
Looks like I'm failing to articulate my thoughts properly as the conversation seems to be going in a different direction from what I am after. I'll try once more!
My query/issue is not in regards to if/what SAP needs to do about this or why there isn't more support from Companies/Organizations and not even, which one is a better option.
My query is what is stopping us(as in the end users ) from using both ID/Role based at the same time?
Now before people start referencing SAP documentation and about parameter 4000, humour me with the following scenario please. Again I would like to reiterate that I am still in the learning phase so my logic might be all wrong/misguided, so please do point out to me where I am going wrong in my thought process as I sincerely would like to know why I am the odd one out in regards to this.
    Scenario
    I've created the following:
    FFID
    FFROLE
Assigned them to, two end users
    John Doe
    Jane Doe
I set the Configuration Parameters as follows:
    IMG-> GRC-> AC-> Maintain Configuration Settings -> 4000:1 - ID Based
    IMG-> GRC (Plug-in)-> AC-> Maintain Plug-In Configuration Settings-> 4000:2 - Role Based
    User1
John Doe logs into his regular backend system (ECCPROD001)-> executes GRAC_SPM-> Enters the GRC system (GRCPROD001)-> Because the parameter is set to ID based in the GRC Box, so he will be able to see the FFID assigned to him-> and will be presented with the logon screen-> Logs in -> Enters the assigned system (lets say CRMPROD001) At this point the firefighting session is under progress
    User2
Jane Doe logs into her regular backend system (ECCPROD001) -> (can execute GRAC_SPM to check which FF Role has been assigned to her but she can see that in her regular menu, so there is no point) -> Executes the transactions assigned in FFROLEThis is done at the same time while FFID session is in progress
So all I want to know is if this scenario is possible? if the answer is No, then why not?
I physically carried out this scenario in my system and I had no problems(unless I am really missing the plot here), which brings me back to my original question: Why settle for just one?
Again to reiterate I am not getting into the efficacy or merits of this or even if one should use this. Just want to know if it is possible/feasible or not.
So there you have it. That's the whole enchilada(as they say there in Texas). I tried to word my thoughts as concisely as I can, if there are still any clarifications, more information you or anyone else reading this would like, please do let me know.
    Regards,
    Leo..

  • Is having just a Time Capsule enough to successfully back-up my important documents incase (some how) my Mac gets wiped?

    Hi,
I'm just about to start teriary education and use my Mac Pro for all my documents, and my documents get frequently automatically backed-up to my Time capsule through an Ethernet cable connected to my Bigpond 4G wireless broadband. All I really would like to know is, if my Mac suddenly loses all its documents from mal-ware or even just one from accidental deletion etc, will those deleted files still be in my Time Capsule? Or do I need to purchase another external hard-drive ment for back-ups Only?
    Thanks
(p.s. sorry if this doesn't make complete sense)

Your Time Capsule makes backups of your computer, so if the hard disk of your Mac is damaged, you can restore a full backup from the Time Capsule and leave your Mac as it was before the hard disk failure.
The Time Capsule doesn't lose files when your Mac's hard disk is damaged, so don't worry about it

  • Event for photos just imported not shown as the last Event.

Just imported photos taken today. The event should be at the end of the events. Instead it is near the beginning of the events, which were many years ago. Is there is fix for this?

  • Import for just one table fails....

    Hi,
On production server i have declared a db user , let's call him PRD_USER, with default tablespace PRD_TBL.
On development server i have declared a db user , let's call him PRD_USER, with default tablespace DEV_TBL.
On production server, i use the exp db utility in order to do the import as:
    imp system/manager from user=PRD_USER touser=PRD_USER ignore=Y file_name ='....' log='....'.
The import succeeds for about 25 tables and indexes and constraints but it fails for just one table with error : {i do not remember the ORA- error, and i have not access to it right now} tablespace DEV_TBL does not exist.
Of course this tablespace does not exist on production env. but how does this problem arise since the default tablespace for this user is not DEV_TBL but PRD_TBL...????
Do you have the slightest idea what may be the cause and how can i overcome this problem during import...???{Note: I gave a temporary solution... taking the sql creation script of the table leaving out the reference of tablespace 'DEV_TBL'}.
Both servers run exactly the same version of DB..
    Note : I use DB 10g v.2
    Thank you,
    Sim

    HI,
"If the table has Partitions, the import is attempting to create the Partitions (in the CREATE TABLE statement) on the original tablespace."
    The table is not partitioned.....
I'll check for the second characteristic...(LOB-column on Monday)
    Thank you,
    Sim

  • Help! I've just accidentally deleted an important document-filled folder.

Hi, I hope someone can help me.
I've just accidentally deleted a folder containing many important documents. It's deleted, not simply just 'cleared'.
I'm using the Adobe Reader app on my iPad operating iOS 6.1.3
Is there any way these files can be recovered?
    Thanking you in anticipation :)

The question is whether you do backups of your iPad. You can backup your iPad either to your computer or to iCloud. If you do either of these it should back up your data.
If you haven't backed it up, or do not have another copy on another device, you're out of luck.
Backup is an essential principle of using computers, and the iPad is another kind of computer.

  • Role for Functional Consultant in upgradation

    Hi
I want to know, what will be the role of SAP CRM Functional consultant in up gradation of CRM 4.0/5.0 to 6.0/7.0?
I want detailed answers for this one and also if possible than also give some document or provide link for Up gradation document
I am eagerly waiting for reply. .
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there,
First and foremost, take all screenshot of processes in the old version. (Functional)
Well to start with, the main backbone of the upgrade project are the Basis Team, so you will be needing a strong Basis Resource.
Once you define the system, a technical testing is done by them and given the system to Functional Consultant.
Compare the old screenshot with new version screenshot and ensure whether the data is correctly available, this can be random, just the basic and important processes to cover. (Functional)
Meanwhile, the functional consultant is required to develop the test scripts, which will include all the business scenarios which are been used in the old version.
For eg: Test Scripts on  Sales process -->from creating the Prospects to Lead then Oppurtunity Document and then closing the case by creation of Sales Orde Management in ECC.
After testing, it is important in any project to get the sign off from the business team, these are called unit testsing & integration testing sign-off process.
So based on your modules interfaced with CRM system, you will require one consultant from each module, for instance, SD Consultant for SD Module.
One more resource will be needed for Web UI Components to test the BSP pages and all, for this a CRM Technical Consultant is needed to be on a safer side, or even a functional consultant can test depending on his/her expertise on Web UI functionality.
    Hope this helps,

  • Regarding Distribution Monitor for export/import

    Hi,
We are planning to migrate the 1.2TB of database from Oracle 10.2g to MaxDB7.7 . We are currently testing the database migration on test system for 1.2TB of data. First we tried with just simple export/import i.e. without distribution monitor we were able to export the database in 16hrs but import was running for more than 88hrs so we aborted the import process. And later we found that we can use distribution monitor and distribute the export/import load on multiple systems so that import will get complete within resonable time. We used 2 application server for export /import but export completed within 14hrs but here again import was running more than 80hrs so we aborted the import process. We also done table splitting for big tables but no luck. And 8 parallel process was running on each servers i.e. one CI and 2 App servers. We followed the document DistributionMonitorUserGuide from SAP. I observerd that  on central system CPU and Memory was utilizing above 94%. But on 2 application server which we added on that servers the  CPU and Memory utilization was very low i.e. 10%. Please find the system configuration as below,
    Central Instance - 8CPU (550Mhz) 32GB RAM
    App Server1 - 8CPU (550Mhz) 16GB RAM
    App Server2 - 8CPU (550Mhz) 16GB RAM
And also when i used top unix command on APP servers i was able to see only one R3load process to be in run state and all other 7 R3load  process was in sleep state. But on central instance all 8 R3load process was in run state. I think as on APP servers all the 8 R3load process was not running add a time that could be the reason for very slow import.
Please can someone let me know how to improve the import time. And also if someone has done the database migration from Oracle 10.2g to MaxDB if they can tell how they had done the database migration will be helpful. And also if any specific document availble for database migration from Oracle to MaxDB will be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Narendra

    > Please can someone let me know how to improve the import time.
R3load connects directly to the database and loads the data. The quesiton is here: how is your database configured (in sense of caches and memory)?
    > And also if someone has done the database migration from Oracle 10.2g to MaxDB if they can tell how they had done the database migration will be helpful. And also if any specific document availble for database migration from Oracle to MaxDB will be helpful.
There are no such documents available since the process of migration to another database is called "heterogeneous system copy". This process requires a certified migration consultant ot be on-site to do/assist the migraiton. Those consultants are trained specially for certain databases and know tips and tricks how to improve the migration time.
    See
    http://service.sap.com/osdbmigration
    --> FAQ
For MaxDB there's a special service available, see
