Role or associated query to be transported first ?

Hi *,
I have some queries created which are assigned to a request. There was a pre-existing role. I was required to include these queries in the role. After inclusion, shall I record this role change in a separate request or in the same one ?
If recorded in a separate request, which one shall I transport first - the queries or the role ?
Regards,
Srinivas

Try to include the queries and role in same request.
If you want to include them in separate requests, transport the request carrying queries first, followed by the request carrying role. If the role is transported first, it may look for the changes in the role (in this case query inclusion). If the corresponding query is not there, the request will fail.
Hope it helps.

Hi Mave,
Pls follow this
Goto PFCG
Enter the role there.
On the application toolbar you can find the button for transport. Click on that and assign this to a transport request
Release and transport to the other system.

• Query Element in Transport Connection

Gurus,
When i transported my report to production it failed because some elements are
missing;
Question1 - How do i identify the objects based on the GUID (that long alpha
numeric number).
Question2 - I don't know how i missed couple of elements because i have
collected the query element in transport connection, thought it
would bring any object associated with the query.
Thanks a lot..

Hi Geni,
I would take the objects which are in red in the failed request.
copy that object from the list which is the ELTUID.
Then goto se16 > RSZELTDIR table
Enter that ELTUID which is the first field and execute
This will give u the name of the element which is missing from the transport request.
Then collect that element and transport again.
Hope this Helps.
Thanks

• SAP Query Use and Transport Strategy

Anyone wish to share their experience in the use of SAP Query? We generally have an understanding that we don't want to be giving out this tool to end-users in Production. We would like to create queries, and when we wish to give them out we'll attach t-codes to them and roll them out.
However in practice, this is becoming difficult. An example is where in our gold client we create queries and then we would typically transport to our unit test client. But whenever we do an export, it generates a transport request. Before we are done testing we may end up with 10's of transports for a single query?
Anyone have some ideas on a transport strategy for SAP Query? How about it's use in Production? Our landscape for changes are typically DEV Gold -> DEV Test -> QAS -> PRD. We would ideally like our transport strategy for queries to match what we do for everything else.

HI,
Query objects are transported in different ways according to the query area in which they were created.
In order to know which transport options are available, you must first understand how query objects are created.
Standard Area
Query objects are stored in the client-specific table AQLDB. They are not connected to the Change and Transport Organizer.
Global Area
Query objects are stored in the cross-client table AQGDB. They are connected to the Change and Transport Organizer.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/d2/cb467f455611d189710000e8322d00/content.htm
Global area objects can be transported into other systems. Standard area query objects can not only be transported to other clients within their own system, but into all clients of other systems as well. In addition, query objects can be transported from the global query area to the standard query area and back within the same system.Transports are normally performed by the system administrator, not by end-users. For this reason, you need the appropriate authorizations

• How to know in which roles a given query is ?

Hello,
Suppose I have a certain query.
Is there a way to know in which roles this query is other than do a manual search in pfcg?

Hi Roy,
You need to recheck the settings , i tried assigning web template to role , and while i try to transport it thorugh transport connection using following options
Grouping indataflow afterwards
collection mode : collect automatically
display as list.
And this shows me query involved and roles to which it is attached to.
Hope that helps.

• How to collect the deleted query in a transport request.

Hi Friends,
I have created a query and transported it to the Quality, the data content is all ok, except that i have not used the Project Naming conventions. Now i have a defect against my name for this. I have to copy the same query with the correct Naming convention and transport it.
My question is after copying the query with correct name i have to delete the old query (if not there would be 2 versions of the same query). How do i collect the deleted image of the query in a transport and send it to quality?.
I tried deleting a test query from Bex Designer, but this does not ask me for a transport. should i use RSZDELETE?. Not sure if it asks for a transport request when i delete the query.
Can someone pls tell me how to go about this?.
Thanks in advance.
BN

Hi BN,
I do agree that deleting directly in Quality and Prod is not good way and not recommeded.
I have not tried and deleted. But if the system is configured in such a way that if it doesnt ask for a request
then i feel you have no option.
If any object is deleted then you must have the deletion image collected into request at the same point when you are deleting.Because later when we go to transport connection we wont find the object itself.
What i think from your point as you said you have done earlier is you must have any open request regrding this query and when this query is deleted , the deletion image is also included in the same request.
So go to se03 and give your deleted query name and check all the requests.
Check in the requests when the deletion image is captured or not. we might be knowing that this is cpatured.

• Roles in a Query

Guys,
I created a Role and assigned a Auth Object, But I am not able to see this role when I open my Bex Query? How can I see the roles in Bex Query?
Thanks,
Kumar

Hi,
Have you attached any queries to the role using the menu tab?
If you have - you could try doing a 'user comparison' if it was not done after assigning your user id to the role.
You could also try logging into Query Designer again.

• Find Query Name in Transport Request or In TR what are Queries.

Dear All,
I would like to find a Query Name in Transport Request(DEVK.....) or Vice-Versa in Transport Request (DEVK........), what are the queries are included. I created SAP Query using SQ01 and assigned the InfoSet. The query is succesfully executing and getting the required result but I dont know the Transport Request Number which was created. In stead of creating New request, I would like to know the existing Transport Request what are the Queries are assigned.
Regards,
Ujed.

Hi
If you have included the Query in Transport using SAP Query Transport tool, it creates Transport request and makes an entry in the table AQTDB. Check the table entries in the table AQTDB.

I was watching the notes, its really weird when i load the cube and execute the query for the first time, its ok, to the second stay in cache, but i was watching that the cube doesnt allow me activat the BD statistics, i dont know if this is necesary to improve the performance of the query, what i know is this:
1- before i create a Hierarchy for an infoobject thta is in the cube , the query used to run ok. Now when i load the first time and execute its ok, but the second stay in cache.
2- now i can activate the statistics for the cube, the indexes are ok, i checked for the RSRV and all is ok less the statistics.

• Missin Roles in BexAnalyzer Query section

Hi All,
I have issue with user can't see the roles in BexAnalyzer Query section.
SSM_CUST already have CONDENSE_MENU YES and DELETE_DOUBLE_TCODES NO.
S_USER_AGR ALready had the roles assigned. But still can't see the roles that assigned to them.
Please advise.
Regards,

hi,
are you saying you want to add custom Roles to 11G?
it's either on the Advanced page or the Administration where you can add new custom Roles.
there is also the RoleManager Service (API) that can add them programatically.

• Backend AC std roles: Generate in each environment or transport from DEV?

Hi all,
After installing SAP GRC AC 5.3 application there are standard roles (/VIRSA/*) created in the backend without profile generation
Since such component has been installed in DEV, QA and PROD the different roles (without profiles) are also in the three environment.
Which is the right way to proceed?
1) Should we generate the profile for such roles in DEV and tranport them to QA and PROD?
2) Should we generate the profiles in each R/3 environments?
3) It does not matter to go for 1 or 2?
Many thanks in advance. Best regards,
Imanol

None of the above, if they are not assigned to users.
Best practice is to create a transport request for them and release it. Then delete them (no standard functionality for that anymore because it created problems, but check OSS for a solution "mass delete roles").
You can then import them again into a client if you really need to. Deleting them will be a performance gain for you from GRC perspective, and you should anyway not generally use the standard roles directly with profiles, but rather copies of them with their own.
Unfortunately there are exceptions to the rules and some standard roles have "personalization keys" for access to WDA applications. In SolMan you should not delete the standard roles without checking the installation guides first...

Julius

• Query regarding moving transport request

HI all,
I have query regarding moving the transport request.
I have a main program with 3 includes. I have made some changes in the 1st include and transported it to the quality(testing). Now i made changes in the 2nd include and saved it in a different request(as request for the 1st include is already released). Now i am moving the changes of the 2nd include into the production. Here I want to know whether all the changes that i have made for the 1st include also will reflect in the production when the 2nd request is moved to production( incase of 1st include, only moved till quality) or only the changes made in the 2nd include will only reflect.
Kindly clarify as soon as possible.
Best regards
John

Hi,
Thank you very much for the response. I have a query regarding the same. If i am making changes only in one single report and i am moving it to the quality. Now again i am making changes in the same report and saving it in a different request and moving it to the production. in this case, i wanted to know whether the whole changes made in the first and second request will reflect in the production or only the 2nd request's change will only reflect (since it is only a single report. there is no include in the program)
Kindly send ur suggestions.
Best regards,
John

• Query Panel LOV Selecting first value

Hi all,
I created a LOV to use for one of my VOs. I created it as an Input Text with List of Values. I updated the AF Table using this view to use the new list of values and it works correctly. However in the query panel for the table when you try and select a value from the LOV it always chooses the first record in the LOV no matter which one you select. The query panel is implemented as a separate pop-up/dialog for the AF table.
I'm not sure why it is working fine on the actual table but not working correctly in the query panel.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Jdev 11.1.2.2.0

Found the solution to this one.. I did not specified which were the key columns in the VOs that I created to reference in the LOV.
Once I specified the key column in the VO, the LOV returned the correct value in the Query Panel too.

• Query variable modification transport

I modified a query variable description in RRMX and a change request (let's call it CR1) gets created. But I wonder if I should go to RSA1 Transport Connection to add the variable to CR1? and how? I used to do this before quite a while ago and don't remember. Anyone's answer is greatly appreciated!

I go to RSA1 Transport Connection and locate the query variable and find that the CR number I mentioned above is listed under the column of Transport Request, that means I don't have to take any action, right?
I also go to SE09, find the CR number, but find the following under it:
