Roles and Navigation Tree

Hi everybody,
I have a portal role that contain the few worksets and the few pages in a "tree" structure.
How could I show  this "tree" structure in an portal application ?
Thanks for any feedback
Regards.
Altafin

Hello Detlev,
Firstly, thanks for your fast feedback. I'll try to be more specific.
Similar with the Navigation Tree from PDK docs, I want to show a role with it's all "nodes" and "subnodes"(worksests and pages).
In the Navigation Tree, from the user environment I obtain the root and  started from it, I build the all it's subnodes. In Navigation Tree example the root is "absolute root" and subnodes are portal standard roles(System Administration, Content Management, Java Development etc).
Similar with the above example, I want that the root to be a role's folder. From this folder's root, I wish to get the it's worksets and pages, in a tree structure.
Best Regards.

  • Report and navigation tree on same page, report based on navigational path.

    Dear fellow htmldb developers,
in my application I have one page where my client need to see a report based on the selection they made in the navigational tree on the same page. The tree has this this structure:
    Products
    ---Monitor
    ----- 19"
    ------21"
When the client clicks Monitor, 19" a report should be generated which shows all the 19" Monitors, so the sql statement for the report should be something like:
select * from table where pgroup = link1 (monitor) and sgroup = link(2)
How do I achieve this? Probably by using bindvariables. Can't figure out how to set it up though. Please help.
    Sincerely,
    Peter

  • Roles and Navigation

    Hi,
Our portal environment is NW04 Stack 11. Let me describe what I am trying to do.
Top Level Navigation tab -> Folder F1
    2nd Level Navigation for Folder F1 -> F1a, F1b, F1c
Detailed Navigation for F1a -> Public, Private
I know how to set up the PUBLIC folder so it appears for all users but how would I set up the PRIVATE folder to only appear for selected users?
Any assistance would be most appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kris

    Hi Kris,
You have to create 2 different roles with the same structure, one with Public at the bottom, and the other with Private.
Then you should set the property "merge id" of Folder F1 in the first role to a string of your choice, and set it in the Folder F1 in the second role <b>to the same string</b>.
Do the same for the rest of the merged points of the two roles (F1a F1b and F1c).
Finally, you can set the property "sort priority" of Public and Private to determine the order between them for users that have both roles.
    Hope that helps,
    Yoav.

  • Navigation through a new role and persistence of user properties

    Hi there,
I have a question related to roles and user-experience in the SAP Enterprise Portal.
Depending on the preference of the portal user I would like to offer a different navigation by assiging a new role to the user.
For example initially a role offers the navigation show below:
    Role 1:
Toplevel navigation:     Entry A        Entry B     Entry C
After a user request for a different navigation the order of the toplevel navigation changes.
    Role 2:
Toplevel navigation:    Entry B     Entry C    Entry A
In order to realize this, I created two worksets for Entry A. By using merge-ids and a difference in sorting I managed to move the Entry A to the end of the toplevel navigation bar after assiging role 2.
However I noticed that iView properties set by the portal users under role1 are lost after assigning the role2. Is there any way a user can keep the properties set under a previous role when getting assigned to a new role that has the same page?
    Thanks in advance,
    Arko

    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    context.getApplication().getNavigationHandler().handleNavigation(context,
    null,
    "<<NAVIGATION STRING>>");

  • Roles and Worksets are indicated several times in Top-level-navigation.

    Hallo Experts,
I dont understand why the Roles and Worksets in the Top-level-navigation are displayed several times. How can I change that?
    Thank you very much
    regards,
    Galyna

    Hi,
Which roles do you see several times?
If it is the home tab than you might have assigned yourself for example, eu_role, eu_core_role and cc_role.
If under the Home you see for example the Company, Work, Team... worksets twice than again you might have assigned yourself for example, eu_role, eu_core_role and cc_role.
If these are administrative roles than might have assigned yourself these roles through multiple groups/roles assignments.
If you will say exactly which roles/worksets you see several times we will be able to help more efficiently.

    Hi Maxicosi,
You can achive with Sort Priority of the Role/Workset object properties.
Refer to [Defining the Sort Sequence of Navigation Nodes  |http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/92/3e703e632c7937e10000000a114084/content.htm]

  • Empty Navigation Tree error in SRM 7

    Hello Experts,
I'm setting up an SRM 7 system. I've configured most of it, but when I test login into the web UI, I get an "Empty Navigation Tree" error with the following text: "The user menu tree for user <username> is empty. Please contact your system administrator".
    Here's some additional information:
    System version: SAP SRM 7.0
    Component: SRM_SERVER 701 SPL 0004
Portal-Independent Navigation Frame is Active (we don't have a SAP Portal installed)
Roles have been regenerated, and my user has been assigned to the org structure correctly.
Org structure has been setup with required attributes.
    How I'm doing this test:
    1. Login to SICF
    2. Go to SAP -> BC -> NWBC -> SRM -> Test Service.
    3. This takes me correctly to a "SAP Netweaver" web page, where I click on the "Login" button.
    4. A pop-up window appears where I type in my username & password.
    5. I get the error message mentioned above.
I'm not really sure what I'm missing.
    Your help is appreciated.
    Regards,
    Gilberto Gallardo.

    Hello Gilberto Gallardo,
I've had the same issue and the fix for it is to configure in tcode SU01 some roles for the user you are using to access the portal. Some common roles are:
    /SAPSRM/ADMINISTRATOR
    /SAPSRM/EMPLOYEE
    /SAPSRM/OP_PURCHASER
    /SAPSRM/RECIPIENT
    /SAPSRM/SECRETARY
    /SAPSRM/ST_PURCHASER
Perhaps it won't help you, since the post is not recent, but it will help if someone encounters the same issue.

  • Javascript error for detailed navigation tree : 't' is undefined

    Hi everybody,
I have a problem on my anonymous role. When i click on the link page of a km navigation IView in the detailed navigation tree, the IView open itself but the navigation tree disappear and i have a Javascript error :
    Error :  't' is undefined.

Could somebody help me please ?

Sorry but it's the same result.
    Anybody else?
Somebody could say me if i modify the parameter of the URL somewhere?
    http://portal:50000/irj/portal/anonymous?standAlone=true&buildTree=false&NavPathUpdate=false&windowId=WID1182328037651
I talk about the parameter buildTree or NavPathUpdate.
These parameters are added when ai click on the link of the tree.

  • Remove breadcrumb navigation Tree.

    Hi Experts,
How can i remove the breadcrumb navigation tree that appears just below the top level navigation fro ESS. I have seena  few blogs af dound that the changea are done at the coding level. Here we are using the standard ESS application and may not have access to the codesin WDJ. Is there any property of view/page/workset through which i can remove this navigation.
    BR,
    Kaustubh

This has nothing to do with ESS/MSS coding.
You need to change your Page Title bar....which is part of your portal framework/desktop.
    Possible properties will be :
    Show Breadcrumb
    Show History List
However, the challenge here will be to make these changes available only for ESS. As same desktop is being used for ESS role as well as other roles.
For this you will be required to change its PAR file (com.sap.portal.navigation.pagetoolbar.PageToolbar) in NWDS.
I am not sure even if this will be possible or not...!

  • Conception problem: Integrating navigation tree

    Hi all,
In order to help users to visualize what actions they can perform, i would like to add a navigation tree into an existing web app.
My first idea was to create a new Index.jsp divided into two frames, the first one get the tree and the second is used for displaying the .jspx called. Problem, in the browser address bar the only thing which is displayed is "http....index.jsp". I no longer have the adress of each page and that lead to difficulties in securizing the app, and some problems in using browser navigation capabilities.
A solution could be to just create my tree into a new page then including a button to go to this page from all the others, but my idea was to let this tree displayed everytime (or may be adding a way for switching rendered property).
A last possibility i imagined is to include the tree into each page, but before doing this (there is a lot of pages to modify) i would rather than some experimented people give me some advices:
    What is the best solution?
Should i use a frame based sharing or another way?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tif

    Hi frank,
    Thank you for being interested.
This web app works like an ERP (enterprise resource planning). Around 50 persons should use it. Depending on their roles they have rights for view, create, modify data in different modules (business development, human resources, instrument maintenance, etc). Each module contains many pages (customer creation and edition, quotation management, etc).
The tree displays each module and some pages of each represented by hyperlinks. Depending on the user who is logged in the tree displays less or more possible navigations. It should enable to navigate quickly from one page to another by these links. User can choose to hide it. So if user well know the application he doesn't need really to use the tree (there is other way to navigate), but for beginners it should display in a simple way all the tasks they can perform depending on their role.
I hope this explanation is more clear. In my last tries, i'm putting it in the menu3 facet of my pages, but i've problem to target the window. When i put _parent display is correct but the browser address bar display "http...myTree.jsp" and not the called page address. I'm working on, so i very appreciate all tips, advices you can give to me
    Thanks and regards,
    Tif

  • Open navigation-tree from URL-iView

    Hi,
i've created a simple URL-iView as an overview (visualization of single process-steps) for reachable iViews for a special role.
Now the problem is, that the links in this iView shall not point directly to another iView, but rather simply open the corresponding knot of the navigation-tree on the left side, so that the user can easy navigate to the wanted iView. Is it possible to do this, or do I always have to point directly to an iView?
I hope, I could get my problem across to you - sorry for my bad english!
    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,
    Chris

Instead of a URL- iview, put your infomation in repositories and try a KM navigation i-view.

  • Two iterators browsing the same data (a table and a tree) problem

I have an ADF UIX application with a navigation tree and a central page with a table of the records of a Works view object.
There is a hierarchical relationship of Works ->Subworks-> Tasks which is shown in the tree. In the central part of the page, there is a table of Works.
    I want
    1) the tree to show all the data, but only about 10 works at a time (using small arrows for scrolling up and down)
    2) the table to show only 10 or 20 records each time. Not the same with the tree.
    3) Both clicking on a link on the tree and selecting a work on the table will open the appropriate page.
    4) Opening the children of a node in the tree and clicking on the links being able to send me directly in the correct subwork or task page EVEN if I haven't visited the parent node (work) first.
I cannot seem to be able to succed in the "even if" part of 4 and I can succeed in only any 2 of the first three.
If the tree iterator and table iterator point to the same view object (work1 for example), it is impossible to show a different set of works in the tree and the table
If I use different view objects, then, if the tree part is working, the table selection doesn't work. I imagined that's a problem with "SetCurrentRowWithIndex" and I tried to set up correctly a "SetCurrentRowWithKey" event, but I didn't know how to write the handler. (I use JHS event handling, by the way)
I suppose the following has errors:
    <event name="setCurrentRowWithKey" source="GetaeergView1">
    <set target="${bindings.GetaeergView1Iterator}" property="currentRowKeyInRange" value="${ui:tableSelectedKey(uix, 'GetaeergView1')}"/>
    </event>
    Any suggestions?

    Noone has tried this again?
