Rpd Error

Hi,
I am creating the Hierarchy for the table Regions_D. These is having two columns REGION_ID and REGION_NAME .
After creating i am getting the below error
Under RegID----REGION_ID
and
RegionName------REGION_NAME
[nQSError: 15001] Could not load navigation space for subject area HR.
[nQSError: 15019] Table Region_D Class Section is functionally dependent upon level RegID, but a more detailed child level has associated columns from that same table or a more detailed table.
Pls help any one what i am doing mistake.

Region_ID and Region_Name are actually referes to same information. You cannot have it as a separate level since Region_Id referes to a unique Region_Name.
If you have a column called Region_category then you can have hierarchy like Region_Category>>Region_Name. Region_Id has no meaning without Region_Name.

Since its a Aggregate function I am getting error Attribute XX defines a measure using an obsolete method!!

Added that date dim to LTS of Fact and derived from Physical tables Max(date)-- Error Ambiguos identifier--Calendar_date That error means there is more than one column with same name . :) check the query.

Created a logical column and derived from existing logical tables as MAx(date)---Obsolete error on Consistency check.When you create a new logical column instead of using derived from existing logical columns using an expression. Select Derived from physical mappings now Edit and map your new column to physical table's column and in the expression use Max("your physical tbl qualifier"."DATE").
Now check for consistency, you shouldn't get that error anymore.

Rpd Error At Opening Time.....

I Installed BI Application 7.9.6.3 on unix machine.i copied Venila RPD in to my local machine.when i open repository
on Offline mode i geting error like this.In my local system we installed Client tool only.
[NQSError:46008]Internal error:File server\utility\File\src\sufile.cpp,line695.
How to over come this...

Warning in the RPD: Error No 38128

Hi All,
When i'm running global consistency checker, it throws the following warning.
**Error no: 38128**
Presentation level. "presentation subject area"."presentation table". "presentation hierarchy table"."hierarchy detail " has no display columns.
Could anyone Plz help me to resolve this warning.

Hello,
Did you set any "Use for display" at any level in the hierarchy of the dimension in question.
Go to hierarchy with the error in the BMM go to each of its levels to find a level that has no key marked "Use for display"
Remove the hierarchy from the Presentation Layer which was already created, and again drag from the BMM Layer for your changes to come into effect.

I am getting below error when trying to pull data from Noetix views (which are in OBIEE rpd)

Thanks Srini, actually we just unlocked and made that user "OPEN" and deleted cache in presentation services and re run the query, still we see same error.
FYI BI Server cache is disabled.
Do you think opmn bounce is required once we unlock user in database ?

FYI , yesterday (before this issue) I had a issue with starting presentation services , so as adviced in forum I replaced the files sawguidstate and sawguidstate.atrin the location:
<Instance_Home>\instances\<instance_name>\bifoundation\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1\catalog\<project>\root\system\mktgcache\<name>
with the same files from a backup or from another working OBIEE 11g (11.1.5)instance.

Error while deploying RPD in OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.3)

Hi Friends,
At times while deploying RPD in OBIEE 11g, I am getting an error, "_*Supplementary information regarding operation: DOMAIN, UNEXPECTED_ERROR;/tmp/zipped-directory.zip (Permission denied)*_".
We have installed OBIEE over a LINUX machine. I tried to locate this file in the server but was not able to find any such thing. This error happens at random and I am unable to predict the occurrence of this error.
Can someone guide me how to resolve this issue?

You have to disable the central configuration:

Getting error while upgrading rpd to 11g from 10g

Hello,
I have a rpd using obiee 10g.I want to open the same in obiee 11g,but getting error like need to run one file.
obieerpdmigrateutil.exe.
So i just run with -i,-u and -o option, that now i am getting this error->
The file 'DBFeatures.INI' is required for RPD migration and could not be located. Please ensure that ORACLE_INSTANCE is pointing to a valid instance directory.

Firstly you need to upgrade from 10g to 11g,you need to run a .bat file from the path and follow some steps like collecting the artifact files like NQSconfig.ini,instanceconfig.xml,DBfeatures.ini with RPD and catalog to upgrade to 11g.

Error in checking in RPD changes

Hi,
I've been encountering a problem in the Admin tool every time I try updating the Initialization Blocks. An error like this pops up *"Communication error connecting to remote end point address = [ip add]; port=9703"*.Then it will not check in the changes I made (please note that the RPD stays open at this state). But when I try to click on any of the object, RPD will close and a dialog box with an error similar to this will display "OBI Server is not running, repository needs to be closed."
Please note of the following:
1. When changes are to be made in the table/columns, check in is allowed.
2. When creating a new Init Block, check in is allowed.
3. When deleting an Init Block, check in is allowed.
4. When duplicating an existing Init Block and modifying its variables and default initialized value, check in is allowed.
5. All defined Init Blocks do not refresh anymore.

Actually Integrated the BI with Oracle EBS R1213....
Still It return the Same error when opening the RPD in online mode

Error starting OBIEE 11G coreapplications after loading new RPD file in EM

Hi,
After I have loaded my new RPD in EM, and restarting the BI coreapplications.
Basically the symptoms I am getting are very similar to this: https://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2129556, I have tried removing other (sampleLIte RPDs) with no luck. Not sure what else I can do. The RPD's physical layer draws data from SQL Server. Have tested the system DSN and its ok.

Using OBEE 11G in Windows 7.

Its weird.
As part of my own investigation, I went to physical layer and saw my SQL Server was set wrong. I set it to 2008 the correct version.
Also my ODBC was set at 3.5, I changed this to 2.0. After doing this I saved it and reloaded it onto EM and it all worked. Just to verify that this was indeed the root cause, I reverted the settings back to original and loaded it again. It works.
Not sure in the end what was the root cause.

while upgrading the RPD make sure that user weblogic server must be up and running including the all the BI Services.
first look into these servers and run the upgrade utility.

Error deploying RPD in OBIEE 11g

Hi All,
I am trying to deploy RPD in OBIEE 11g. Everything has been working fine then I had an error on trying to restart the server. Server Log returned the below message.
[13026] Error in getting roles from BI Security Service: 'Error Message From BI Security Service: PolicySet Invalid: WSM-06102 PolicyReference The policy reference URI "oracle/wss_username_token_service_policy" is not valid. '
[43065] The connection with Cluster Controller PIETRO_MAXIMOFF:9706 was lost.

Hi,
This kind of issues occur, when the application wsm-pm is not running. To resolve this, login to EM -> Application Deployments -> Internal Applications. The two applications wsm-pm on AdminServer and managed server should be up and running.
