  • Changing clip speed causes Premiere to crash?

Hi, I'm making a video series and I have a problem. Everytime I change the speed of at least two clips in my timeline, sooner or later a message will come up saying "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."
I have looked up the problem online and found another person who had my problem (He was on Premiere CS3). He says he was absolutely sure that the problem was caused by changing the clip speed.
Can anyone help me with this?

I suspect the issue is due to your video format... what format are your videos? Your problem will be solved by converting them to DV-AVI. See this FAQ on conversion:

  • Slow Internet Connection Speeds caused by Ethernet Controller Driver

Problem:  Internet connection speeds are 1/10 of available connection speed.
    1. Problem statement is based on running speed tests at cnet, speedtest.net, and AT&T.
    2. I am paying for 12 MBps down load speed but I only get about 1.5 MBps.
    3. Other computers in household get 11+ MBps connected to the same ethernet cable and also different ethernet cables.
    4. I traced the problem to the network controller driver.
    5. I updated to the latest driver with no change in performance.
    6. After some experimenting I found that if I re-install the driver after the computer is booted up, the internet connection down load speeds increase to 11+ MBpS (typically around 11.4 with maximum capability of 12)
I have assumed that the driver does not load properly the first time, but why?  Or is there some other cause or setting that I have overlooked?

  • Slowing speed causing jerks during Playback in premiere pro 1.5. Can anyone give advice to solve?

    Hello.
I am from Pakistan and we use PAL.
I am using adobe premiere pro 1.5 at my P.C. No capturing card has been installed on my computer. When I strech any video clip or slow its speed, after render, it produces little bit jerks and flickers during playback. Even it shows same problem after export project. Can anyone tell me the solution. Another thing I want to share, I have installed Matrox RTX card at my office. I have not seen any jerk there during slow motion. (Sorry for using inappropriate english)

    Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, you have posted to the CS5 sub-forum, and should post to the CS4 and Earlier Forum. I am sure that one of our MOD's will move this for you, especially as you were kind enough to put the version number in the title - thank you for that.
Now, can you give us the full specs. of your Video files. The more detail, the better. There is likely some aspect of those Source Files, that is causing an issue.
Good luck, and if this post "disappears," then it has been moved for you. See the link above to the CS4 and Earlier forum.

  • Stable at at rubbish speeds and then randomly drop...

This is driving me up the wall,
    1) My speeds are terrible at the best of times, if over £150 million has been spent on the UK broadband infalstructure then why hasn't my line/exchange got any better?
    2) My hub will sync to a pretty rubbish 3-4mbps with less than 15db of noise on the line and be stable for a few days, then randomly drop to 160kbps with over 30db of noise
I have contacted BT multiple times and they do the same old diagnosis and end up re setting my line, it works fine for a week or two (if I'm lucky) then one day, boom, 160kbps ADSL speed. This is simply unnaceptable, I contacted BT again on Monday but this time they havn't even responded. Unless this issue gets resolved Ofcom will be hearing abouth this. We are paying £25 per month for a service that is about as fast as good old IDSN!

  • Typing at high speed causes double characters to not appear.

Photoshop (any version) has historically had an issue with typing speeds. If you type too fast, double letters will come out as single letters. The previous line would've looked like this: "If you type to fast, double leters wil come out as single leters"
This mainly happens when typing fast, and any of these conditions are met:
    - the file is big
    - you haven't restarted photoshop in a while
    - you've been doing some work (lots of history states)
Basically, as soon as the memory fills up, Photoshop's responsiveness becomes pretty poor when you're typing.
I don't expect a solution for this, other than a patch/update, since this is an issue on any machine with any (performance) settings.
So basically, I'm just venting about something that's been bugging me for years and years, hoping for others to chime in on this too.
I realize Photoshop isn't a text editor, but it's pretty impossible for me to type everything in a text editor before I type it in Photoshop; it'd kill my workflow.
    Cheers.
.edit: noticed the ticked "mark this discussion as a question" too late. Shouldn't be marked as a question.

Why would the OS drop events only to Photoshop?
We only have this problem in PS, not in any other program.
Even if the OS is dropping events to Photoshop, .... Photoshop might still be the problem, since it's the only program the OS is dropping event for, so why is that?
You don't really need a fast typist to reproduce this, just quickly press the same key two or more times.
You'll start to notice that sometimes Photoshop is "too busy" and just drops/ignores keypresses.
If you could reproduce this problem, I'm sure you would also come to the conclusion that Photoshop is dropping or ignoring events, you can just see Photoshop hang for a second because it's too busy, and that's when it happens...
Keep in mind Photoshop is running an a brand new, very powerfull computer with 16gb of RAM.
So I'm sure the computer is fast enough.
Is there anything I can do to help? I can easily reproduce the problem.
Can I send you some logfiles? Do you have a debug program for me to run?
Really, anything I can do, I would be happy to help.
Maybe I can run some profiler on the windows keyboard message queue to provide you with more information to see where the events get lost?
    We are using CS4.
Are there minor updates we can install? If so, where can I find those?
I don't really want to get into the discussion wether this is a problem with OS or a problem with Photoshop, because really I don't know.
I'm convinced it is Photoshop, you're not,... we both have our opinions, but they mean nothing really.
What we need is cold hard proof, which means we need to debug/test this problem that is only occuring in Photoshop.
All I really know is we have a problem that only occurs in Photoshop, so that's why we're bothering you with this
Thanks in advance, and sorry for being such a difficult customer, but this is such an annoying problem.
It would really mean a lot to us if this would get resolved.

  • 'Reverse Speed' causes crash

    Hello,
I have a project which consists entirely of AVCHD footage from a Canon HFS10.  The footage is 1080i30 (60i) and I have broken it into several sequences so I can put them together in a 'master' sequence in the order I choose.  I wanted to reverse one of the sequences, so I placed the sequence into my master sequence, right-clicked on it, clicked on Speed/Duration, selected the 'Reverse Speed' checkbox, and clicked 'OK.'  Every time, without fail, after 20-40 seconds, Premiere CS4 (4.2.1) stops responding and then crashes.  Sometimes, I'll see a window pop up that says something about rendering the file.  At least one of the times, I saw in the 'Applications' tab of Task Manager a task titled 'Droverlord' which also has a Status of 'Not Responding.'  I have tried this with various sequences made from the original AVCHD footage with the same result.  I rebooted the machine, and I get the same result as well.  Has anybody reading this experienced this problem and if so, any advice on how I can successfully reverse a sequence?
Edit:  I duplicated the sub-sequence that I was unable to reverse within my 'master' sequence.  I then opened the duplicate sub-sequence and reversed the speed of the footage itself, and then was able to place that new sub-sequence into the 'master' sequence.  So, it appears that it has more to do with my attempting to reverse a sub-sequence placed into another sequence, rather than simply 'Reverse Speed' not working at all in my project.
    Thanks,
    Matt

Thanks for the follow up on your issue. Did the issue resolve itself or did you do some strategic troubleshooting to correct the issue?
I ask since this one incident may be symptomatic of program problems that are currently being masked and that need to be addressed. However, as they say, do not mess with a good thing if everything is working now.
But, if the problem returns, please post again with details (answers are in the details).
    Thanks. Appreciated the follow up.

  • Downloading at maximum speed causes BT Home Hub 3 ...

    Hi there,
We have a BT Home Hub 3 which to be honest, is awful. Everytime someone downloads something from a source with good servers (e.g. I can DL it at the maximum speed my line allows), it prevents anyone else on the network from loading anything at all. We can roughly get 2.1MB/s, but as soon as this is reached, everyone else is kicked from the network.
How can I prevent this? It's ridiculous that everytime I want to download something which doesn't have the ability to cap the speed, I have to let the download finish, reboot the router, usually at least twice.
    Really dissapointed in BTs services.

this link show many posts of hub3 wifi problems https://community.bt.com/t5/Other-Broadband-Queries/BT-home-hub-5-wifi-keeps-dropping/td-p/1447659

Now you know why Malvern tops the Race to Infinity for votes.
My parents are in Malvern Wells and they never get  more than 1.1 Mbps.
Malvern & district aren't exactly rural, yet the whole region in general gets poor speeds.

  • Sick of rubbish speed

I moved to BT in Decemember, I had been on EE for about 5 years and if I am honest never have speeds below 4mb, I live a 5 min walk from the main exchange so I should have pretty decent speed.
    On BT this
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1.35 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.6 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.
     Additional Information:
     Your DSL Connection Rate :8.13 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.45 Mbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7.15 Mbps
Is quite regular, we had to give up using things like Now TV and iPlayer as they simply don't work on BT.
When I get up in the morning I will get 7mb speed, this will continue during the day when I am at work but between 5pm and 6pm when your at home and actually want to use the broadband its will start to slow to crawl, you get the same all weekend when your at home.  So what use is this service? Over congestion no doubt but what I can't understand is why EE never once gave me this problem using the same exchange and equipment?
Anyone any ideas? At the moment I am counting down the days until I can leave.

Can you post back the results of this checker editing out your phone number

If it does not show a cabinet number it will be because you are on an Exchange Only line which will mean you can not get Infinity because you are not connected to a cabinet, instead you are connected directly to the exchange.

It has taken four days after installation but the BB speed is now what I was expecting. I still can't undertsand why a stabilisation period is needed but hey-ho. Hopefully this will be maintained.

    Hi raymie67,
There isn't a way for customers of contacting Wholesale directly, but customers can check if there are congestion problems at their exchange for example at http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/.
Unless there is such a problem, we’ll not be able to investigate this as a potential fault until the stabilisation period is over.

  • Erratic Internet Speed Causing Connection Problems

    Hi BTCare,
I have been a BT Broadband Customer for many years and haven't faced any difficulties up until a week ago; I have the original white home hub. In June 2010 an ADSL upgrade was carried out in my area and since that time I have been able to achieve 10mb Broadband speed consistently (Peak & Non-Peak) without any problems.
In the past 5-7 days my Internet Speed has been slowly deteriorating and is now becoming almost un-usable. Earlier in the week the speed dropped to around 5mb and I contacted BT Support over the phone and they instructed me to run speed tests throughout the day suggesting that the problem may lie with internet activity in my area increasing during peak times. This didn't seem to be the case as the speed tests were returning similar speeds regardless of what time of day I carried out the tests.
Since then my speeds have continued to decline to as low as 1mb at times which has now made it difficult to even use the internet as even loading web pages sometimes takes up to 30 seconds. Some wireless devices (e.g. iPhone) can't even establish a connection to the router even when I am standing directly in front of it.
I have configured my wireless connection (changing channels etc.); re-starting the router at intervals hoping this will improve matters but this has proved fruitless. I have run a speed test now with the results as follows:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 240 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 100-500 Kbps.
     Additional Information:
     Your DSL Connection Rate :5923 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 1191 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 500 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 8.84:23.63:67.79 (SBE:NBEBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.
The results of this test will vary depending on the way your ISP has decided to use these traffic classes.
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 171 Kbps
     Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 1191 Kbps
Any support you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

  • Upgrade causing problems and still no extra speed

    Hi BT
Apparently my area had the fast broadband updated within the last few weeks but still mine is usual rubbish speed plus I have had quite a few disconnections lately with the hub lights going out.
I have been promised time and time again that things will improve and to be patient while things sort themselves out but in 3 years they have not changed at all and BT want to still charge me the same as someone on 20 mb where is the fairness in that ?
