Rule Author--Rules/Fact Not saving

Hi', All
I don’t know what is the problem with Rule repository, It is not saving the details properly, It is only saving details up till dictionary name and version, all the rules which I create are not saving (I am saving the rules and every thing after any change with “Save dictionary”),
this is happening when I am following Car-rental sample,” http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32110_01/web.1013/b28965/guistart.htm”
Thanks
Yatan

Oddly, I'm having a similar problem.
I've set up a rule to copy a message to an IMAP account. This works fine - until I close Mail (v3.6). When I next launch it, it has CHANGED the location to a local mailbox. Weird!

  • Rules facts not pulled through in Decision service

    Hi,
    I am using 10.1.3.1 SOA suite and JDev and have define a rule set with a singel fact.
    Using the decision service wizard, I can select the rule set from the file repository but no facts are pulled through to the wizard.
    This ultimately stops me assigning BPEL variables to rules facts.
    Has anyone got this working and if so, are there any steps I have missed?
    Thanks
    Joel.

    Anyone expierenced a DecisionService returning operationErroredFault?
    BPEL-instance Audit shows errorInfo-nde with text starting with:
    5}' when expecting one of: "fact" ...
    ends with
    at line 16 column 41 in main
    My experience is for those interested in achieving proper functioning of the Rules Author, the Import of XMLFacts, and the subsequent building of a BPEL process with a Decide-activity utilizing the Rules Engine.
    Until today I've used developer preview, but will now switch to 10.1.3.1.0 (SOA Suite and JDev build 3984 "production").
    The info in this forum thread has lead me pass some trouble, but not all:
    I can confirm that the rules engine xsd sample (driver-demo) doesn’t work with the Decide-wizard: The format of the xsd should be as described in this forum thread.
    There was one other situation in which "no Facts get pulled through" (symptom: you see an empty list of Facts in the Decide-wizard after choosing a named Ruleset).
    Cause: The JAXB-generated directories and files must be copied manually from the location specified in Rule Author when generated, and into your BPEL-project sub-directory bpel\\rules\*
    The copy-procedure is explained in the soa demo detailed tutorial (astut.pdf clause 8-10-10 page 8-87), but it's easy to miss. And if you do miss it, the wizard gives no specific clues (just a missing Facts list, same response as if the xsd filestructure is “non-supported”).
    I experienced also that it’s probably a good idea to Import XMFacts complete from the JAXB classes hierarchy, not just a selected sub-fact: Example from SOA demo, the ApproveOrderBooking.xsd:
    When making concrete Rules, you as author makes reference to a fact property or method that’s of type "ApproveType", in contrast to being a developer and choosing a Ruleset from BPEL Decide wizard when you pull through a Fact named "Approve" (not the "ApproveType", which is invisible in the wizard).
    On the other hand the XmlFact "Approve" in the Rule author is actually empty: Looking within the Author there is no clue as to why you should bother to import the "Approve"-fact: all the properties and methods used by rules are associated with the "ApproveType"-Fact.
    Further the instructions in astut.pdf is much needed to complete the assign-steps for a process to compile and deploy.
    Now the actual deployed DecisionService proved faulty when tested from a bpel-instance. It gives timeout and a payload showing:
    <ns0:errorInfo xmlns:ns0="http://xmlns.oracle.com/BPELProcessA/DecisionService" xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
    <ns0:errorMessage xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:ns0="http://xmlns.oracle.com/BPELProcessA/DecisionService">
    5}' when expecting one of:
    "fact" ..."++" ..."--" ..."+" ..."-" ..."!" ..."exists" ..."(" ...<INT_LITERAL> ...<CHARACTER_LITERAL> ...<LONG_LITERAL> ...<FLOAT_LITERAL> ...<DOUBLE_LITERAL> ...<STRING_LITERAL> ..."true" ..."false" ..."null" ..."new" ...<XML_PACKAGE> ...<IDENTIFIER> ...<XML_IDENTIFIER> ...
    at line 16 column 41 in main
    </ns0:errorMessage>
    </ns0:errorInfo>
    Beats me: The logs within Enterprise Manager (http://server:8888/em) gives no clue...

  • CO: Automatic creation of Settlement rule - settlement rule not saved

    Hello,
    First, We have a customer field in our internal order called 'ZWBS'.
    also, I have  customized automatic Creation of settlement rule for internal order by:
    1. T-code KSR4 - I have created Strategy called 'C25'.
    2. I created Strategy Sequences for Automatic Generation of Settlement Rule called 'ZC25'
    with T-code KSR2_ORC.
    3.I Assigned the Strategy Sequence To Order Type ZC25.
    4. I used User Exit COOM0003 in order to create Settlement rule from ZWBS field.
    In KO01, when i go into the settlement rule I can see the 2 lines that the user exit created.
    The problem is that when i'm saving the internal order the settlement rules are not saved.
    My questions are:
    1. Is anyone met this problem?
    2. is the user exit work on T-code KO02 also?
    thanks for your help.
    Best regards,
    Lior

    Hi Lior,
    Hope below information can give you some hints:
    See the detailed description of the error for example for order, in transaction KO02, click button 'Master data', click button 'Settlement Rule', populate column category with 'PSG' and press
    <enter>. On the 'Assignment to a Profitabilty Segment' screen press button 'Derivation' and see the long text of message K/111. In case the generation of settlement rules fails again later use these steps to find out why and check the derivation rule by means of transaction KECM.
    Best Regards,

  • Fact not found in rule session

    Hi All,
    Iam trying one sample on inference in Oracle Business Rules. lam receiving an error message -
    Error while executing a rule session unit of work, fact not found.
    The rule session InferenceSample:750003 failed because the fact com.xyz.brwithbpel.Customer could not be found or doesn't exist.
    Check the underlying exception and correct the error. Contact oracle support if error is not fixable.
    This error comes only when I test the business rules for inference condition. If I run the rules by removing the inferencing condition, the rule executes successfully.
    First thing that comes to my mind is that inference is causing an infinite loop. If this was the case it should show a message something like "Out of memory". But the error messages are telling something different.
    I am not able to find any clue. Any help will really do great for me.
    Thanks.
    .

    Hello Guys
    Did you get a way to retract the fact ? I am facing similar problem.
    Say, I have two rules and for given fact both rules are getting satisfied. But I want to come out from the rule engine when actions for Rule1 is done.
    1) Rule1 (Priority 99)
    If <...>
    Then <...>
    retract <fact>
    2) Rule2 (Priority 89)
    If <...>
    Then <...>
    But I am getting following error:
    Error while executing a rule session unit of work, fact not found.
    The rule session DiscountRules:490053 failed because the fact order.SalesOrder could not be found or doesnt exist.
    Check the underlying exception and correct the error. Contact oracle support if error is not fixable.
    But if I remove the retract <fact> from Rule1 it works fine but Rule2 is overriding the results (actions) in case both rules satisfy the conditions.
    thanks

  • Business Rule Error: Fact not found in the rule engine working memory, rule

    I am trying to create a simple decision table with an input(ValidateInput) and a output(ValidateOutput). The input and output schemas have unbounded and nested elements(Parent-child relationship). When I create a condition(specific condition on input) and in the action I am asserting the output object. But when I run using EM it throws the following exception. It would be helpful if somebody could tell me what could be the problem. Please note when I set the output as ValidateInput object then it runs fine. Also it executes fine with ValidateOutput if it doesn't have unbounded(List) element inside it.

    It's working now..I had to use Global variable to declare child element of the output variable and use the same during action.

  • Fact Not Found Business Rules Error

    Hi
    I am encountering the following fault while executing one of the condition of the rule. The other condition works fine. Hi,
    Just checked my old backup file and you are right. It does not have the business rules. One reason I can think of is they are not part of UJFS structure and in fact uses a table driven. All the rules can found with the tables UJP*.
    You can print them into html and copy into an excel. From there I think you have to manually copy into the target system. If you are using transport route, you do not have worry as the transports cover the table driven rules with the required config in the UJT_TRANS_CHG table.
    Thanks,

  • Business rule XML facts not visible soa  11.1.1.6.0

    Hello experts,
    Here comes the description of steps:
    When dragging a business rule with input and output facts defined(xsd:complexType), in bpel 2 process, in the edit rule dialog box:
    click on either of the assign input & output tabs to add a copy rule,
    in the decision fact map dialog box:
    the type is business rules facts in the drop down menu.
    Here the business rules variables are not shown.
    Having read the following older posts:
    Empty Business Rule Facts while assigning input/output facts
    SOA Jdev app - Bpel Business Rule - Assign Input Facts issue
    still, I do not see any solution or workaround offered.
    Any helping hand?

  • Business Rules Do Not Execute When Saving a Form

    When saving a form the attached business rules are not executing. Sometimes we are unable to validate business rules via AAS. When this happens we do a security refresh from Planning to Essbase and Essbase to Shared Services. At other times, we bounce planning and even Essbase and this seems to fix the problem. Today we have tried every combination (bounce planning, Essbase, AAS) and we are able to at least validate biz rules in AAS but we (i.e., users) are uanble to execute the biz rule when they save via the planning form. There are no issues running the biz rules when saving the form using an administration account. Can someone explain what's going on or provide direction as to why this problem happens and how to fix this issue?

    Hi,
    Well is your version 9.3.0.1? If yes then you have my sympathies :). We too have this version and face similar problems with Business Rules. Usually things come back to normal after following the steps mentioned above. However what I would want to know is the following:
    1) From where are you running the Business rules? I am asking this because if you are trying to run from Smartview then I would suggest you look at the time it takes for the Business Rules to execute. If it excedes the timeout settings then it will exit out. However the BR might still be running in the back ground. This you can confirm by looking at the data.
    2) Have you checked if you have installed all the patches?
    Hope it helps.

    When i had this issue i overcame it by opening the Rule Editor->Deleting all existing facts that are imported->Close JDeveloper -> Delete the contents of .rulesdesigner directory in your workspace -> Restart JDeveloper -> Reopen Rule designer and re import all facts.
    Also make sure that all the schemas that are used for Facts are valid ones.

  • Fact Not Found in Rule engine working memory

    I am using 11g, I have built a Business Rule, using RL facts, XML facts, Bucketsets and multiple Rulesets which internally has decision table and If-then rules. After deploying the same, Business rules runs successfully for some conditions and faults for some condition. The fault error for those failed conditions displays the following error:
    Fact not found in the rule engine working memory, rule session execution failed. The rule session bpel:<somenumber> failed because an instance of the fact <factname> could not be found in the working memory of the rule session. This is most likely a rule modeling error. The decision service interaction expects the fact instance to exist in the working memory of the rule session. Check the rule actions in rule designer and make sure that a fact of the expected type is being asserted. Contact oracle support if error is not fixable.
    It is wierd becuase if it is a fault with respect to working memory then I would imagine it has to fail for all the conditions as all the conditions assert the same Object. Has anyone faced the same issue or am I doing something wrong here.
    Venkat

    Ervan
    I deleted the RL facts that I had created and asserted the result to the Business Object, this seems to have taken care of this issue, but I am still not sure what was wrong in the way I build the rules using RL.Hope this helps.

  • Request does not contain any saved update rules; rollback not possible

    Hi,
    In BW on hana, there's a 3.x flow DSO where it loaded a request from PSA.
    It failed due to activation error SID Generation.  But unfortunately, due to PSA Deletion process chain, it's PSA Request got deleted.

    Request you to please help me how to handle this.
    Regards,
    Antony Jerald.

    Hi Antony,
    Once you have deleted the data in PSA there is no way to reconstruct the request hence you can do below things to correct it
    1) Identify the No of Records which having error , because if you have more records it will take more time as in debug mode we have option to edit only one record at one.
    2) Display only one record in Active table and change it using the Debug option ( not recommended ), but as you are in corner we need to use this
    3) change the records with respective values and active the request again

  • Rules are not getting fired - urgent

    Hello
    I am a newbie to the oracle rules engine (10.1.3) and introducing the rules engine in our architecture.
    I have started to fire a simple rule but looks like the rules are not getting fired.
    Here is my code snipped: I am setting a value in the fact if another value is null.
    ==========
    RuleDictionary rDict = RuleFactory.getRuleDictionary(RadiusConstants.RADIUS_REPOSITORY, RadiusConstants.RADIUS_DICTIONARY, RadiusConstants.DICTIONARY_VERSION);
    RuleSession ruleSession = new RuleSession();
    ruleSession.executeRuleset(rDict.dataModelRL());
    ruleSession.executeRuleset(rDict.ruleSetRL(taskName));
    RuleMessage ruleMessage = new RuleMessage();
    ruleSession.callFunctionWithArgument("assert", moduleVo);
    ruleSession.callFunction("run");
    ruleSession.callFunctionWithArgument("assert", moduleVo);
    // ruleSession.callFunctionWithArgument("assert", moduleVo);
    System.out.println(" Module Status " + moduleVo.getStatus());
    ========
    Any help is greatly appreciated. I am not sure if I am missing. I am suing rule author to create the rules.
    I am asserting the fact in the rules engine. Here is the RL file generated from the rule author.
    ==================
    ruleset MODULE_CREATE
    2.
    3. {
    4.

    13. )
    14.
    15. {
    16. v0_ModuleVO.status = "P";
    17. assert(v0_ModuleVO);
    18. }
    19. } //end rule ModuleId_Null;
    20. }// end ruleset MODULE_CREATE
    =================
    thanks very much in advance
    Yugandhar

    You need to specify the ruleset or rulesets that should be run. If there is only one, you can do:
    ruleSesion.callFunctionWithArgument("run", taskName);
    or
    ruleSesion.callFunctionWithArgument("pushRuleset", taskName);
    ruleSession.callFunction("run");
    If there are multiple rulesets you want to run in order, then call pushRuleset in stack-order that you want their actions executed.

  • Settlement rule does not exists in order number.

    Hi All,
    I have been recieving a error while trying to save the Production order. The error reads as "Settlement rule does not exixts in order". But fact is that order has settlement rule. Also there is a default setting done in order type settlement profile because of which settlement rule is created automatically.
    Now there is a way around. We calculate cost manually and then we go to settlement rule and check for error. Once we do so the order is good to save.
    But we are not able to save it automaticaaly after release. This issue occurs when we try to release the order and then after releasing the order we try to save it.
    Please help us on this issue.

    Hi Prabhakar,
    Thanks for your input. But the said setting was already done while implementation. All the material except this material has the issue. We are able to realease the order properly for the material except this one. And since go live we are using this material for first time.
    We did a work around. We copied this material and recreated a new material with reviced part number. That one is working fine in lower client. We have now no idea how could one material all the same data like material master and routing and BOM and work centers can work properly whicle failing for other.
    We are trying to debug this will let you all know if we find the solution. Till then if you all have any idea any prior experience, please let me know.

    I can view the rules in EAS, just cannot open or launch.  I am thinking it still has to do with the active directory that they changed, but need more time to research.  Here is the specific error now:

  • Calcmanager rules are not working

    Hello there,
    we have existing EPM environment 11.1.2.1, We just Installed a new EPM environment 11.1.2.3. After the installation and configuration I exported Calc manager rules from 11.1.2.1 and imported them in to 11.1.2.3 environment.
    It looks like Business rules are not working there. Below are the symptoms of the problem.
    (1) Rules keeps giving random validation errors. (Same rule validates in 11.1.2.1 fails in 11.1.2.3)
    (2) If I create a new rule for my planning application (lets say Test_Rule) and check the DB table I don't see any object being created. (Select * from HSP_OBJECT where OBJECT_NAME = 'Test_Rule')
    (3) Any updates I make to the rules in 11.1.2.3 is not being saved.
    It looks like Calc Manger is having hard time talking to planning DB.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    If you have upgraded from 11.1.2.1 to .3 you would need to upgrade the planning application. Assuming that you have done that, for validation, you would need to provide validation value for all your Run Time Prompts.
    This can be done in the variables tab of the Rule Designer.
    Let me know if you have issues after these steps.
