Runtime engine can't load vi with lvdatetimerec.ctl

Hello everybody,
i have trouble with TS 3.5 / LV 11.0
I programmed a small vi that calculates the time difference between now and a time stamp. To pass the timestamp from Teststand i use a Control (lvdatetimerec.ctl) and the matching VIs to do the task.
Unfortunally i can't load the vi into Teststand using the Runtime Engine. I get the message "Unable to load VI "xx.vi" with the Run-Time Engine. It is possible that the version of the VI or one of its subVIs is not the same as the ..."
It is certainly the same and there is no problem until i include a constant or control of that type.
Do anybody have an idea?

Try to recompile your vi hierarchy in LabVIEW (hold Ctrl and click Run), then save it, then try again in TestStand with LabVIEW runtime.
Runtime engine does not support dynamic compiling, this vi may looks fine in LabVIEW, but TestStand will complain that it is broken.

if you allready have the software and a license, i would recomend that you try to get a training from Empirix. this is the best way of ensuring that the investment you did with the software gets maximum payback. training offers is something you can get from your empirix sales rep.
if you DONT have the software and license, the first step is to get in touch with Empirix for an offer (for software and a training as well)
the training helps you to unserstand how to work with the product and how to unserstand the results

Can't load class with Class.forName()

Hi, can somebody help me with this problem. I have clas copiled with jdk 1.3.1 (I also test it with jdk 1.4.1). If I try to load a Class instance with Class.forName("package.app.MyClass)") I have a runtime exception:

I removed the import in the file header and wrote this code:

ispecModel = new com.unisys.ebs.all.ispecs.GD130IspecModel();
Class ispecClass = Class.forName("com.unisys.ebs.all.ispecs.GD130IspecModel.class");

e.printStackTrace();
the new sentence work fine, if write mor code I can access methods and members. When the runtime execute the Class.forName sentence the exception is thrown. I put all in the same file and class to avoid mistakes typing class path.
This is very rare I never seen it before and I developed java application since five years ago.

How can I load data with Scripts on *FDM* to a HFM target System????

Hi all!
I need help because I can´t find a good guide about scripting on FDM. The problem I have is the next one.
I have on mind to load my data with data load file in FDM to a HFM target system, but I would like to load an additional data using an event script, ie after validate. I would need any way to access to HFM system though FDM Scripts, is it possible??
If so, It would be wonderful to get a data from HFM with any Point of View, reachable from FDM Scripts in order to load or getting any data.
I´ve looking for a good guide about scripting in FDM but I couldn´t find any information about accessing data on HFM target system, does it really exist?

Hi,
Take a look at the LOAD Action scripts of your adapter. This might give you an idea.
Theoretically it should be possible to load data in an additional load, but you need to be very careful. You don't want to corrupt any of the log and status information that is being stored during the load process. The audit trail is an important feature in many implementations. In this context it might not be a good idea to improve automation and risk compliance of your system.

Can't load website with .jsp - get blank page? Doesn't happen all the time

When I try to open American Eagle Outfitters website, I get a blank page and it will not open. The site is ending in index.jsp. I have 3 computers and it does it sporatically on all 3. ie. 1 may open the website, 2 won't or 2 might open website and 1 won't or none of the 3 will open. I know this has to be something simple but it has been doing this for about 3 months and it is driving me nuts because I can't get on there to pay my bill or even shop! Help!!

I'm having the exact same problem! I've been using the website a lot recently, and then just about a week ago the website just wouldn't load. The page would go white and would say "Done" at the bottom of the screen. I tried googling the website to try and go in through there, and I can only seem to enter the site through "Find a Store Near You". Only this page seems to work, and whenever I click on "Women" or "Clearance" or "WishList" or anything else the page just goes white again and won't load. I've googled "websites won't load" and I've tried all the suggested steps and nothing seems to be working. I order off AE all the time and was ready to place an order, which I now can't do because I can't even sign in to the website.

Can you load songs with anything other than iTunes?

I'm trying to re-install itunes after my PC collapse, but I can't and I really want to upload new music to my ipod, but I can't, can I use any other software other than iTunes? Cuz seriously, I don't know what's the problem with iTunes, but I can't install it.

There is a lot of software for iPods that allow you to transfer music and more.

They aren't hard to find, just search.

An EXE under 8.5.1 runtime engine can't find VISA drivers

Apologies in advance for newbie question.
I built a simple app (EXE) that uses PC serial port, using VISA drivers.
Works OK on one Dell PC, not OK on another. Not exactly sure what to try.
The failure occurs when code hits the "Visa configure serial port" block.
See attached bitmaps for error message and offending block.
Do the Visa drivers need to be installed by me on the PC ?

Hello Remerlin,
Did you just create an exe, or did you create a full installer. If you are going to deploy an application that uses functionality such as VISA, or LabView Runtime, you need to create an installer and include the additional installers such as VISA. The following is a link to a tutorial on how to do this.

When creating the installer, go to additional installers under categories (in installer properties) and make shure VISA, and LabView Runtime are checked, as well as any other functionality you will be using.

Call a sequence of VIs (not .exe)) in VB. only LV runtime engine Installed

I am try to reuse my labview vis in VB enviroment. I would like to call a sequecne of vi from VB just like in LV with Call By Reference. This is a production enviroment, only Labview runtime engine installed in the computer. I realize that I can call labview exe file from VB, but then I have to compile every vis (more than hundreds) and have to reference every vis servers in VB.

Actually, the runtime engine can run any VI--not just ones built into an application. The problem will be getting data in and out of the functions.
If you have much of the code already written in LV why are you messing around with VB? Wouldn't the easiest solution be to write the entire application in LV? Just wondering.

Anyone know if it's possible to install LV2011 and LV2013 run time engines on the same machine? I want to run some older exes alongside their newer counterparts.

For some additional general information about exactly which Runtime Engines can be installed with each other, take a look at the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine Compatibility Knowledgebase article. It has a bit of additional information explaining the compatibility with SP1 versions and 64-bit vs 32-bit.

Runtime Engine Redistribution Options

I noticed that when developing Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010, one must install the Crystal Reports runtime engine in the client machines in order for the reports to work.
According to the documentation, the runtime engine can be installed by executing any of the following files as appropriate:
CRforVS_redist_install_32bit_13_0_1.zip
CRforVS_redist_install_64bit_13_0_1.zip
What I am curious about is if this is the only way to install the runtime engine or if there are other ways. For example, what if someone purchased the full version of Crystal Reports 2011? How would you deploy the runtime engine to the client computers in this case? Is the runtime engines for the full version the same as the one that comes with Visual Studio 2010 runtime engine?
Most importantly, if there are two engines, what would happen if both engines are installed in the same computer?

As far developing the Reports with CRVS2010 is concerned you would require Visual Studio 2010 and then install the following

The other you mentioned should be used when deploying the application. You can learn about it here.

If you purchase CR2011, you can design the reports, but it does not contain .NET runtime. You would have to use CRVS2010 runtimes. Do look at this.
So, what's up with CR 2011 and .NET SDK - actually, any SDK?
Two engines shouldnu2019t be a problem as each of them would have different version.

Customizable Runtime Engine

Hi,
I am using LabVIEW 8.6 and I am interested to understand how to customize the LabVIEWRun time engine. Basically to shrink its size.
I just create a sample program and installer with and without Runtime Engine.
The VI and the projec is attached.
The Sizes are,
VI         ->      6.9 KB ( Just a UI with a loop)
EXE                                      -> 151.0 KB
Installer without Runtime Engine    ->   10.4 MB
Installer with Runtime Engine ->   74.7 MB
I understand the Rutime engine includes the support for all the LabVIEW features (Web service, trace, tdms, etc).But while distributing the application developed in LabVIEW we may need the support for only the features the Application developed/configured for. Right?
Though transfering a 100 MB is not a problme now a days, I am just wondering, how it can be customized.

Besides the options then you create the installer no. I think NI could have done it, but they do not dare. If the installer was more modular it would have resulted in a lot of extra support work for NI. As people hate to read read documentation. It is much more convenient to phone NI support and yell at them. So NI has taken the all or nothing approach. As a self defense. And I can not blame them. But I have to admit a modular RT setup would have been nice.
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted

Data Load: Replace with Rule

Hi guys,
this might be a simple question but need to find out quickly:
Can it load exports with a rule file even its not in column format??
Data source is an export and NOT in column format and need to load the data with a rule file to replace a member name. The new member names in the new outline has changed a little bit.
Old: Team_1
New: Team_01
Export is done by right click data base -> export.
Any idea?

Data file in a free-form format doesn't need a rule file to import. Given your case my best guess is to just replace the names in the export file with the new names and jsut import it.

Firefox does not load the first time I click on it -- a script appears which ischrome://webvideodownloader/content/utils.js:131 -- when I stop this script running I can then load firefox -- how can I keep this script from running

I can still load it with the script running or attempting to run in the background but it makes firefox tremendously slow. After I click on stop running the script then everything seems to be ok.
how do I get the script not to run in the first place.

In Firefox the use of the term chrome refers to the user interface and other elements that are not part of the web pages.

Load Labview runtime engine with matlab platform

When I use labview DLL on matlab platform it loads labview runtime engine.
Once I use "close all" command of matlab, labview runtime engine is not available any more so I want to reload it.
How can I do this?
If I run the DLL again an error is occurred.

I recommend contacting MathWorks for assistance with the exact functionality and results of close all. Based on online documentation for calling DLLs in MATLAB, you should use unloadlibrary to remove the LabVIEW DLL from memory instead of close all. If you use this method, are you able to load the LabVIEW DLL (using the loadlibrary function) and call it successfully from MATLAB?
