Runtime error Bex Query Execution

Hi guys,
I'm facing an BW-BEX error, when I Execute a Bex Query that supposed to
make some time to retreive data, about 30000 records, un Excel runtime
error occurs
with the same query but enough restricted to retreive less than 5000
records, this time it works fine
This bug occurs on any PC workstation not only on my computer.
ST22 shows no thing abnormal.
ON RSRT, it works fine
Any Idea ?

     We did the system copy from production to Sandbox system. Executing one query got terminated with the following error.
     Error SQL Error: 1110
     Abort System error in program SAPLRRK0 and form RSRDR;SRRK0F30-01-
     I copy this query to the new one and remove all the filter. It works!!!

How can I reduce BEx Query execution time

Hi,
I have a question regarding query execution time in BEx.
I have a query that takes 45 mins to 1 hour to execute in BEx analyser. This query is run on a daily basis and hence I am keen to reduce the execution time. Are there any programs or function modules that can help in reducing query execution time?

Hi Sriprakash,
1.Check if your cube is performance tuned: in the manage cube from RSA1 / performance tab: check if all indexes and statistics are green. Aggregate IDx should as well be.
2.Condense your cubes regularly
3. Evaluate the creation of an aggregate with all characteristic used in the query (RSDDV).
4.Evaluate the creation of a "change run aggregate": based on a standalone NavAttr (without its basic char in the aggr.) but pay attention to the consequent change run when loading master data.
5. Partition (physically) your cubes systematically when possible (RSDCUBE, menu, partitioning)
6. Consider logical partitioning (by year or comp_code or ...) and make use of multiproviders in order to keep targets not too big...
7.Consider creating secondary indexes when reporting on ODS (RSDODS)
8.Check if the query runtime is due the master data read or the infoprovider itself, or the OLAP processor and/or any other cause in tx ST03N
9.Consider improving your master reads by creating customized IDX (BITMAP if possible and depending on your data) on master data table and/or attribute SIDs when using NAvs.
10.Check that your basis team did a good job and have applied the proper DB parameters
11.Last but not least: fine tune your datamodel precisely.

Air Runtime Error when querying local Cache

Hi,
I am running into trouble when attempting to fill a datagrid
from a local SQlite cache, when the cache has been emptied either
because it was never filled with any data or the files have been
deleted. One would think there would be a mechanism in Flex to
check the cache for proper structure without resulting in a runtime
error. Reading the Dataservice documentation, there appears no way
to inspect the cache without getting the runtime error.
Basically, I have an Online/Offline application synchronizing
data with a MySQL server via LiveCycle Dataservices. Everything
works fine Online, and also Offline as long as the cache files have
data in them.
The problem is that if the program has just been
installed(and server is not connectible) and the user hasn't
connected to the server to retrieve any data yet, the local cache
is empty and will result in the runtime error, or if for some
reason the cache files get deleted, then Air will throw the runtime
error.

BI BEX Query execution from ABAP into a File w/ Text

We are currently running BI 2004s and have a requirement from a user to load a file (preferably excel but a csv or txt file would also work) on a server with the results of a BEX Query and they need the format to look exactly like the Bex results including the columns for the char. text that are specified in the Bex query properties. If we could run this ABAP program in background and foreground - that would be a big plus.
I have searched and reviewed many of the FM, programs and transactions in this forum to do something like this but the text is always missing.
Any suggestions (the simpler the better) would be appreciated.

Yes, I did try RSCRM_BAPI. It looks very promising but the text is not there. Example - Business area 9160 shows up but the text for it "SAFLEX" does not and this text does show up in BEx.

Error while query execution - Query getting locked by another user execute

Hi All,
I am facing an issue ..
When I execute a query I am getting an error message ie popping as blocked by some other user. And I able to see the lock when I go to SM12. If the other user logged off or if we unlock his entry, then both the workbook and query is getting executed as expected. What can be the reason for this phenomena?
In my understanding, in the same time multiple users can execute the query /workbook. But in our case its not allowing.
Can someone suggest a resolution at the earliest, as it is affecting the reports in live environment

The Bex Analyser (Front end) Patch is 501 and the SAP BI is 15.
The error message that I am getting while executing the query is "The object requested is currently locked by user --".
When I go to SM12, I can see a lock in the user's name.

Reproducibility:
-     This error was reproducible only on the benchmark platform using an automated test tool and only if logs are turned off (production environment simulation).
-     On the same platform, if logs are turned on, then the problem did not occur (different execution timing).
-     Despite many attempts, we where not able to isolate a simple test case to demonstrate the problem.

After lot of investigations, we can certify that nothing else, except execution timing, is involved in this case…
My impressions:
-     The returned error message is totally out of context. The expression is well formed. Only one ExpressionBuilder is used in this query construction. The expression is very simple ( where a=? and b=?), no parallel expressions are involved. And, the same code works without high concurrency…
-     When looking at TopLink source code level, we can see that the exception is thrown because the session associated with the expression builder has been lost (it’s value is null). Neither the application nor the framework can change this information (it is protected). It seams that somewhere, TopLink code did not handle properly threads safety and alter it.
-     The fact that changing application execution timing (by turning logs on/off) corroborates this.
A TAR has been opened on metalink but the case is very hard to reproduce…
Did someone have encountered similar problems before ?

Passing the Data class to the ExpressionBuilder constructor is normally reserved for parallel expressions. TopLink does not handle these expressions in the same way. It does not check same things on them and expect a root ExpressionBuilder to be left without class. TopLink sets the class on a root ExpressionBuilder only on internal clones for a temporary usage. I am afraid of side effects. Did somebody have some return off experience on this?
I don’t see what using named queries will change in this case, but I will try. We have used named queries in the past but; our experience show clearly that using named queries is slower and less reliable (using a string to identify the query is one more source off error for developers).
Here, the main problem is that changing anything can remove the error but, without an explanation on its origin, there is no real warranty.

Error in Query Execution in BI 7.0

Hi,
We had recently upgraded to netweaver 2004s. While executing a query we are getting the below error. Object Field I_S_DATA-ZINSCOUNT not found while executing the query. ZINSCOUNT is a key-figure that is used in the query.
The query is working fine in Server at BW 3.5 version, but not with the system upgraded to BI 7.We checked the data present in the ODS, the values exist for this key figure.
The backend is exactly same for the system at 3.5 where the query is working fine. We have checked the transfer routine/start routine for the same; they are same as for the system on BW 3.5. Only when we execute the query (for BI 7.0) we get the error mentioned above.
Please provide us your views on the same.

i tried reactivating the query, but still the problem persists. i have identified the problem. The error occurs at the BADI defined for ZINSCOUNT. but, i am still unable to identify why the BADI has a problem post upgrade.

Function Module error in query execution

Hi SDN Gurus,
When I run this query in Dev it gives me an error: "Function Module RSD_ZK_ACCT_TEXT_GET does not exist." When I look up in SE37 in both DEV and QAS, there is no such function module though I don't get this message in QAS.
ZK_ACCT is one of our important infoobjects and is in the query.

Try with Tcode RSRT and with the following option:
Buttom:Genrate Report.
Menù: Repair.
And then execute once again the report.

Runtime error and mapping execution status

We have set maximum no of error parameter to = 50. When our mapping encounters an exception like Unable to extend space on some table space and at the time of encoutnering this exception no of error count is less than 50 - mapping returns success status. With the result that execution pipe continues with the next mapping. Though we would like to keep error count to 50 or higher value - so as not to interrupt the pipe if there is an insertion or updation failure but we would like the mapping to stop when space error or such an exception comes. Please let us know how can we achieve this.

I believe that if you look at the execution status in Workflow Monitor, you'll see that Workflow handles and reports status correctly within the top level flow and all subprocesses.
However, OWB Audit information for subflows is NOT registered as expected, the subflows always appear with status successful to me, even when mappings fail. I'm not sure whether it is a bug or that success actually means that the flow has concluded/finished (as opposed to status busy). I've had difficulty with OWB Workflow language before, as eg. the workflow AND operator has nothing to do with execution status logic, only with sequencing (ie. a wait-for-all-before-continuing-operator). The operator name and icon graphics are counter-intuitive to me.

Error in query execution from Query designer

Hi,
We have recently installed the BI 7 server, when i execute the query from query designer i got the following URL:
http:///irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?QUERY=TEST_REP&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=2
due to that page is not displayed, i guess there is some sort of hostname setting need to be done.
Can anybody please guide me where all these settings are done, help required urgently ?

May be you have not included host string in logon pad.
1. Open SAP log on pad
2. Select the system and go to change mode
3. you have IP defined for the system, here you need to put host string name which u can get from C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc file for your SAP system in your system.
4. Save and exit.and run query again

We upgrade the system from BW 3.1 to 3.5 NW

I select 0FIA_DS11/ZASSETST1 query and I try to execute, It is working fine
I select 0FIA_DS11/ZASSETST1 query and I try to Generate report, I am getting following error

BEx Query Execution problem

I got a problem when I click Execute button in Query Designer to run a query. It popup a IE windows with a URL like below

Apparently, the URL is wrong. It seems it try to connect to EP server to run the query. But I donnot have a EP server. What I just want, the query running via BEx web service. The expected URL should be
http://SERVER:PORT/sap/bw/bex?QUERY=PM_SALES_ANALYSIS&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=1
Some configuration in SAP BI 7 server,
SICF --> test BEx service works fine
RSPOR_T_PORTAL not maintained(No entry)
Environment: Only SAP BI 7 without EP
Is there anybody can help me on this? How can I check and configure to fix this problem? Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi Wang,
You could check the setting in SPRO transaction through following path:
in the SAP Reference IMG under SAP NetWeaver -- > Business Intelligence --> Reporting-Relevant Settings --> BEx Web
You can also assign standard web templates to all your queries from here.
