Java Memory error for applprod
Hi,
I have strange problem. I am running "Create accounting" program and it errors out with the error message
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Could not create the Java virtual machine.
I have sun SPARC servers, with 16GB RAM, 38 GB SWAP WITH 12.1.1 and 11.1.0.7
So following the note
Troubleshooting Java[tm]: Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap Could not create the Java virtual machine. [ID 1260764.1]
The funny thing is
when i run the command java -Xmx2048M -version it works fine on root and oraprod. But when i run in applprod it throws the same error
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Could not create the Java virtual machine.
I have checked ulimit settings, they are fine

Please any help.
ThanksHi Hussein,
I created another user test1 of group dba and ran java -Xmx2048M -version. It worked with out error.
Then i found the only difference between test1 and applprod is ulimit -s set to unlimited in applprod but not set in test1
I removed ulimit -s unlimited for applprod the executed
java -Xmx2048M -version
it worked fine.
But i guess ulimit -s unlimited is a pre-requisite for running R12 in solaris??
What shoud i do
Please suggest.
What does "echo $ADJRIOPTS" return after sourcing the env file?bash-3.00$ echo $ADJRIOPTS

bash-3.00$

Crash and Memory errors in Dreamweaver MX/8/9/10. No idea!
After executing Dreamweaver v8-10, program work fine, but if switch between application (Alt-Tab for exemple), program crash (exit with code 0xc0000005). This error show different debuggers. Windows show defaoul error "The memory could not memory "read"". Dreamweaver MX don't start. Try
almost all, what may changing situation. Disable DEP, checking RAM with memtest86, remove all Adobe products, cleaning registry, delete all setting data. Run program from safe-mode, without services of OS, closing almost all not standart, unload antivirus ware, and firewall. No change:( This trouble static, and no changing. In another software this problem do't viewing.
System:
OS: Windows Xp Pro SP3
MB: Asus P5K SE
CPU: Inter Core 2 Duo 2.6 MHz L2
RAM: 2x1Gb Kingston 800MHz
GPU: Sapphere Radeon 1950 SE 512 Mb
Kasperski Internet Security 2009
.NET Framework 3.5
Visual C++ Express SP1
I understanding, this is system bug. But don't know, how this can be fixed? 2 days i tring, but 0% succses:( Else Flash begin work more correctly, with third-party components:) Anybody may help to me? I searching so much, but no result. I could reinstal Operating System now, and one software, bad motivation. It seems that there is a conflict in accessing memory. When I replaced the video card driver to the older, I noticed that CrushDoctor can not recover from the terminate dreamweaver.exe, endlessly shifting to other memory addresses. Before replacing the driver of such attempts have been up 2-3 times. But, given the experience run in Safe-Mode, it is not clear which system process in the memory, can interfere dreamweaver any version?

JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0 Java Memory errors
Hello,
I have been developing an ADF Application that contains a tree component that is used for navigation of a BOM structure. The BOM is not that large only 600 or so records and when I am testing for short intervals I have no problems. When the application is run for extended periods 15-20mins in both the embeded oc4j container and the Application server 10.1.3.4.0, it runs out of memory and in the case of the application server the instance is restarted.
I have tried to limit records retrieved, increase heap memory to ridiculous sizes (1024MB), configure the AM pooling settings and still this occurs. I guess I have memory leak or something but I tried to use JDeveloper debug functions to isolate and cannot find. Does anyone know how I can make the app release memory and stop restarting the application server? Any tips on how to find memory leaks?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
PeterThis issue had to do with a known bug in the Java Hotspot sever and updating the version of Java to 1.5.0_17-b04 resolved this issue.

What are your JVM options? For example, -Xms and -Xmx. I believe under IBM's
1.3.1 JVM on AIX, you're limited to a maximum possible Java heap size of 2.5 GB
(that's after also setting maxdata to 0x00000000 to free up all 10 consecutive
segments (0x3 -0xC) for mmap( ), per IBM documentation here:
http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/eserver/articles/JavaPart2.html
Also, review your swap space on your filesystem (increase if necessary). Hope
this helps!

Who can give me a suggestion about java crash with Internal Error ID?
I running my server performance test, but after 7 hours, the jvm crashed and give a java internal error ID with "*53484152454432554E54494D450E43505001A8*",
and I can not query any valuable information from Google by this internal Error ID. Who can give me a light?
I have run the performance test on the other machine with the same service logic, the other environment not crash, It's very strange!

Out of memory error. Throughput zero. Server crashes
Hi,
We have this issue about 'java.lang.outofmemory' error, which brings down the
nodes one at a time. The logs don't help at all.
At the time of crash follows:
- Memory shows fine on weblogic console. It cruises flat at approx 160 megs. We
have ms
and mx heap of 512megs.
- jdbc connections on the console show 15 and we have set initial of 15 and max
of 95.
- throughput shows zero on the console
- queue length just spikes and goes like 50+ till the server finally crashes.
- weglogic.log has an entry of jdbc connection leak, which doesn't make sense.
- then a large number of out of memory statements are printed out.
It is our existing application, which worked fine. We put in small additional
features which don't really do any big thing. We have already checked our connection.close()
statements. We are closing all the connections to return them back to the pool.
Our environment is as follows:
OS: Win2k
Weblogic: 6.1 sp4
Clustered with 2 nodes
Any help would be highly appreciated.

HI,
here i only want to inform that i'm using JRockit java version "1.4.1_03" rather
than jdk.
I wonder is it "-XX:MaxPermSize" cannot be set in JRockit??This option is not available for JRockit - may be it uses different heap structure.
When your server runs out of memory - how much heap is available.

Hi Abbas,
I meet the same problem as you, get the java.lang.OutOfMemory,
you said that u added -XX:MaxPermSize=128m then problem resolved,
but i dont know where should i put this info.
Some say put it in startup parameter, but i dont know where is it.
Can you please tell me clearly which file i should add this line??
Is it in startWeblogic.cmd or other file??
Can you show me all of the setting you did in this jvm option??
Urgent!!

Slava,
Thanks for the info. We added -XX:MaxPermSize=128m and it worked. Bingo.
As you said, the parameter MaxPermSize specifies memory for long lived
objects.
Also, what I heard from someone in BEA, that this memory allocationis
something
aside from the heap assigned with -ms and -mx parameters. What I would
really
appreciate is if anyone can talk about any benchmark for this parameter.
The jvm
tuning recommendations for wls 6.1 on BEA's website (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/perform/JVMTuning.html#1104200)
doesn't mention this.
Thanks in advance.

Abbas,
Try to add -XMaxPermSize=64M to JVM startup parameters. That will
increase heap size allocaed for long-living objects. If you don't
have
an
application-caused memory leak, this should fix the problem.

RoboHelp 9 gives an out of memory error and crashes when I try to import or link a Frame 10 file or
I have Tech Suite 3. If I start a new RoboHelp project and try to import or link Frame files, RoboHelp tries for a while, then I get an Out of Memory error and the program crashes.
I opened one of the sample projects and was able to link to one of my frame files without any problem, so it seems to be an issue with creating something new.
Any suggestions? It happens when I create a new project and then try to import or link frame docs to make up the content. It starts scanning, then crashes. I did get it to the conversion setting page once, but no further.
It does not happen if I open one of the supplied example projects and link a file. But then it doesn't let me choose, during import, any style mapping. And I can't delete the sample project fold
Twice now it has told me when I tried to import (not link, but import) that my .fm file could not be opened, and told me to verify that Frame is installed (it is) and that the file is a valid frame file (it is).
The docs and project are in separate folders on my C: drive. -
Safari 7.0.3 crashes: NSTableView error
Since before installing the 10.9.3 update, Safari 7.0.3 crashes randomly when left open for a period of time.
This is on my new Mac Pro (Late 2013), it does not happen on my MacBook Air
Crash reports indicate an error inserting rows:
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSTableViewException', reason: 'NSTableView error inserting/removing/moving row
Initially when the bug started I had two extensions enabled:
com.lastpass.lpsafariextension-N24REP3BMN (3.1.17 - 3.1.17) LastPass
com.hoyois.safari.clicktoplugin-GY5KR7239Q (69 - 2.9.3) ClickToPlugin
I have since removed them both, and only reinstalled the latest lastpass extension
com.lastpass.lpsafariextension-N24REP3BMN (3.1.9 - 3.1.9) LastPass
but the problem continues.
Things I've done:
1. Booted in Safe mode
2. Reset Safari
3. Removed user caches
4. Repaired permission
5. Used safari with no extensions
All to no avail, Safari crashes at random times, usually at the worst moment, like when I started writing this, I had to start all over again...

My MacBook Pro (version 10.7.5 4GB)keeps crashing with the error message 'Your MAC OSX start up disk has no more space available for application memory' - what do i do. I keep force quitting the applications and turning the computer off but it happens again after a while
Hhow much goal and free hard disk space is available? Sounds like you need to move some things off of that hard drive.

Out of Memory Error in Java Agents running in lotus notes
I have a java agent running inside lotus notes jvm. It runs fine for some days but after some days start giving out of memory error and terminates.
I need to restart agent manager in notes to enable java agent running. Is there a way to catch out of memory error so that on its catch i could restart agent manager.
Regards,
SaituDear Peter,
The agent is written in java and
I need to know a way to enter catch block of 'OUTOFMEMORYERROR'.
My whole code is in a try block with two catches, one for outofmemoryerror and another for exception. When outofmemory error occurs control passes to the exception catch and not outofmemoryerror catch.
Since out of memory is an error and not an exception, is there a way to catch it or run some code when out of memory occurs.
Regards,
Saitu -
Hi,
I'm running a Java app that's been working perfectly for 12 months. I did the latest Java upgrade from Apple and I now have heap space errors. The result of running Java version is as follows:
java version "1.6.0_20"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_20-b02-279-10M3065)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 16.3-b01-279, mixed mode)
The error listing is below. I'd be grateful for any help in setting memory in the .sh file that I use to launch the app or for other ways to resolve this.
A search of this forum yielded no assistance on this.
Regards
Mike

How to figure out the size of an object - java out of heap memory error
Hi all,
I am using an object that I found in a library that I didn't create so I don't know its internal state or members.
I created a single one of these objects and I call announce() on this object which just sends a UDP announcement over the channel to notify listeners. However, after a message #124,288 I get a java out of heap memory error.
I am wondering if this announce() method is causing the state of the object to grow with every call...it seems unlikely but I want to check to see if it's reserving a growing amount of heap memory without ever allowing it to free.
My question is how can I check how big the object is within my program? I'd like to check, for instance, at every 10,000 messages sent how much memory the object is taking up. Is there a method call for that? Would I have to use some kind of debugger or memory monitor? I would like something easy to use.
Please let me know, and thanks in advance.
Julianjboolean23 wrote:
Thanks for the quick reply.
I say it's unlikely that the methods I call are filling up heap memory because I have one Message object. This one Message has a myMsg String member. Whenever I want to change the message I call myMsg = "anewstringhere". And then I do myMessageObject.announce(); And for that reason i say I only have one Message object. The only thing added to the heap would be the strings that I replace myMsg with. The old references to myMsg are no longer valid and should be garbage collected..
Unless of course if you are calling intern() on them.
so here's my train of thought (and this isn't what my actual code looks like):
myMessageObject.myMsg = "hello" //creates a string on the heap? I assume this is equivalent to saying myMsg = new String("hello")No they are not the same.
The text literal will be in the intern space. Both code fragments would do that.
The second example would create a second instance of String(). That second instance would be cleaned when no longer referenced. But the literal will not.
Is my thought process correct? You are calling a third party library right so mock it (write a simple replacement that does the minimal correct functionality.) Substitute it in your code. And then run. If it still fails then the problem is in your code. If not then it is either in the library or the way that you use the library. -
Safari 5.02 constantly crashing (Flash 10.6 error)
My Safari browser is constantly crashing, for instance while on YouTube. The error I am getting is pointing to Flash 10.6. How can I reinstall Safari or Flash? This is annoying, but it's not happening on Firefox.
Any ideas? I am on a OSX 10.6.4(First check that you have checked the box Enable Plug-ins in Safari Preferences/Security! )
Update 10.6.4 included an out-of-date version of FlashPlayer*. Try deleting it and installing the latest one from Adobe even if the version number appears to be the same even if it has the same version number as the one you have:
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
* To avoid this situation in the future, Apple recently announced that Macs would in future not have Flash Player pre-installed, precisely to avoid this situation, saying:
We're happy to continue to support Flash on the Mac, and the best way for users to always have the most up to date and secure version is to download it directly from Adobe.
They also noted that this will be happening across all Macs in the future, though there may be some models still in the channel with Flash pre-installed.
