Safari download in xml instead of pdf

Hi,
when downloading from external portal, pdf-files become ".pdf.xml" format
What do I do?
thx. John

Change the suffix back to .pdf, eliminating the .xml portion.

  • How do I use a generic button to submit xml instead of pdf?

    Hello All.
    I am using the following javascript that I found to email a form:
    var subject = form1.SF1.TxtFld1.rawValue.concat(_form1.SF1.TxtFld2.rawValue);
    var myDoc = event.target;
    try {
        myDoc.mailDoc({
            bUI: false,
            cTo: '[email protected]',
            cSubject: subject,
            cSubmitAs: "XML"
    } catch (e) {
        // exception handling...
    I would like to modify the above to email the xml instead of the pdf.  Can anybody help?
    The reason I'm not using the submit button is because I can't figure out how to customize the subject line as I have in the above script.
    If there's a better way of doing what I need, please let me know - I'm open to suggestions.
    Thanks,
    J

    Add a regular button to the form.
    Add/Modify the following script on the click event of the button:
    event.target.submitForm({cURL:"mailto:"+"[email protected]"+"?&body="This is a test email "&subject="+ subject +", cSubmitAs:"PDF",cCharset:"utf-8"});
    You will need an Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions Server to make this possible for users who only have Reader and not full Acrobat.

  • Safari download ics link instead opening it in ical

    when i click on a link which points to a ics-file safari downloads this file. i can open it and the event is imported in ical.
    is there a way  to tell safari to open it with ical?
    the mime-type i am sending is "text/calendar".
    firefox is able to send the ics file to ical.
    i can use a webcal-link but then this is rather a subscription but this is not useful for a single event which i want to import in ical.
    thanxs.

    Quit Safari if it's running. Move the file
    Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
    in your home folder to the Desktop. Test again. If downloading now works as expected, then that's where the problem lies. Otherwise, it's still somewhere in your Safari settings, but I wouldn't know where. You'd have to ask the "Speed Downloader" developer what to do next.

  • IE files downloading as .fdf instead of .pdf

    I have a user where I work that is downloading insurance quotes from an IE browser. When downloading a home insurance quote, the file is attempting to download as a .fdf file instead of a .pdf. He doesn't have the same issue with the auto quotes. I have put in a ticket with the insurance web site, but wanted to see if I could get any ideas on the issue through here since these files should be opening in Acrobat 9 but can't due to the file type.
    I know that .fdf files are used on a server application but this is a workstation. He's the only one in the department having the issue but it's not associated just with his profile on the PC. It's a Win7 64-bit OS. Any ideas?

    Like the others say, it would really help if you provide a link to a file. It's also possible that your server isn't sending back the right Content-type header for the file. Here are example headers for a JPEG and a PNG:
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Date: Fri, 29 Jan 2010 05:20:59 GMT
    Server: Apache/2.0.50 (Fedora)
    Last-Modified: Wed, 01 Jul 2009 20:44:56 GMT
    ETag: "ab8014-9f3-fef24200"
    Accept-Ranges: bytes
    Content-Length: 2547
    Content-Type: image/jpeg
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Date: Fri, 29 Jan 2010 05:21:51 GMT
    Server: Apache/2.0.50 (Fedora)
    Last-Modified: Wed, 20 May 2009 17:09:53 GMT
    ETag: "9c4180-45cb-18885a40"
    Accept-Ranges: bytes
    Content-Length: 17867
    Content-Type: image/png
    But it's impossible to know without a link. Or, you can open up the Terminal application and use this command (customize the URL for your site, obviously):
    curl -I http://sitename/path/to/mp3.mp3
    That will return just the headers so you can see what the server thinks it's pushing out...

  • Why does the email button attach xml instead of pdf?

    Sorry, it's probably a stupid question, but I can't figure it out! Thanks a million!

    Hi Diana. You can use the Button object (not a Submit button) and modify it to submit the PDF version of your document.
    After you've placed a button in your layout;
    1) click on the Object tab
    2) Select "Submit" as your Control Type
    when you've done this, a "Submit" tab will appear
    3) Click on the "Submit" tab
    4) Change the "Submit Format" to "PDF"
    5) Add the e-mail address in the "Submit to URL" field (as below);
    mailto: [email protected]

  • Problema para fazer download do XML (Firefox, Chrome, Safari)

    Oi Pessoal,
Conseguia acessar no Firefox, no Safari, Chrome => esses no Mac, e IE e Firefox no windows.

  • Pdf download not appearing in safari download tab

    Hi
    Recently I have discovered a problem,whenever I download a document the document automatically appears in the safari download tab (the tab with the arrow facing downwards) however this does not occur for pdf files. The pdf will download and go straight into my downloads folder in the dock, but it does not show in the safari download tab. This is a problem for me as i can't easily access my recenetly downloaded folders via the safari tab.
    any help would be appreciated
    cheers

    The same situation is happening to me I bought motion 5 first and the FCP X and the FCPX shows up as install but the Motion 5 shows up like its not installed, but in the purchase section FCPX does not show only Motion 5, and if I click on motion 5 to install it it tells me that it was not purchase in that app store that it was purchase in another app store, but my bank account shows up like if it was already purchase I am afraid to hit install in the motion tab install because it tells me if I want to buy it again.

  • Firefox downloads file as .ASPX instead of .PDF

    Trying to download Monthly Statements from Merrill Lynch website. Firefox used to download them as .PDFs (and MS IE 8 still does). Now Firefox downloads an .ASPX instead. Or maybe not -- If I change the extension of the downloaded file to .PDF. it loads correctly in Acrobat Reader. Why does Firefox use the wrong extension??

  • XML output in Apps instead of PDF

    Hi All,
    I have converted several Oracle reports to XML Publisher and working fine in EBS. The problem I have is that I am getting the XML instead of a PDF output when running a report under Release Sales Orders form(Pick Slip). I am able to preview the PDF output in the XML Admin page using similar XML file.
    I have the concurrent program definition changed to XML from text and XMLP template/data definition configured. Any idea on the issue?
    Best regards,
    MM

    Hi MM,
    Are you still in 11i? Check if the report(Pick Slip) is being submitted thru document set (OM(R)> Setup> Shipping> Documents> Document Sets)… if yes, then you probably need to apply a patch... or have you tried Gareth's solution explicitly calling from report AfterReport trigger?

  • Have downloaded both Adobe reader and PDF reader, but when I attempt to open a pdf from a site on safari, it starts to load, then disappears.  Any way to fix this?

    Have downloaded both Adobe reader and PDF reader, but when I attempt to open a pdf from a site on safari, it starts to load, then disappears.  Any way to fix this?

    Try quitting the PDF apps and Safari like I describe below. Then reset the iPad. After it starts try again.
    Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • Safari downloading pages instead of opening them

    so, this is weird. in the last two days, safari has occasionally downloaded a page rather than opening it. my download manager opens up, and a new file appears on my desktop. opening it gives me garbage.
    there is no pattern to it--it happens maybe 20% of the time, and it doesn't happen to the same pages consistently.
    it happens both when i follow links and when i type in urls directly.
    anyone got any ideas? thanks!

    When you say download manager do you mean a third party manager such as speed download? Or do you mean the safari download system?
