SALES ORGANIZATION -COMPANY CODE
Hello,
Why sap says that the thumb rule that the sales organisation should be kept minimum per company code. What is the significance behind this statement. Why cant we have more than 1 sales org assigned to company code.

Each sales organization is assigned one company code.
You can have more than one Sales organisation in one Company Code .
Each sales organization represents a "selling unit" in the legal sense. Its responsibilities include product liability and any claims to recourse that customers may make. It is also responsible for the sale and distribution of merchandise and negotiates sales price conditions. Sales organizations can be used to reflect regional subdivisions of the market, for example by states. A sales transaction is always processed entirely within one sales organization.
If there is one sales organization for the company code
The sales organization represents the company code Sales areas defined in the R/3 System are used to refine the structure of the external organization
Each sales area consists of the following R/3 organizational units (in any combination):
Sales Organizations
Division
Distribution channel
If there is more than one sales organization for the company code
Possible reasons for having more than one sales organization for each company code:
· Different legal responsibilities, for example product liability
· Unusual stipulations (for example legal), which make it necessary to distribute different product lines separately u2013 for example, products for medicine and veterinary medicine
· The desire to separate completely the sales activities of different enterprise areas
Separate distribution responsibilities, each with their own Marketing and Pricing policy u2013 for example, one for the domestic market and one for export
Overlapping customer and product master records or the desire to maintain customer and product master data in a specific, unusual way
· Overlapping responsibilities for order entry, or for sales and distribution processing (sales authorizations)
As generally said , our organisation structure in SAP should be simple to improve efficiency .

This is a kind of merger and not an easy task as seen.. There are lots and lots of complications you have to handle. Recently we did this for one of our client and it was full 1 month project for 25 consultants.
Some of the complications are :
1. All the documents (specially FI and MM) has to be taken care of.
2. All the plant related data should have to be in synch
3, Warehouse and materials has to be see
4. All sales related records, master data has to be extended.
5. All the assignment you have to see
What i suggest you is, take this as a small project and follow the procedures and steps:
1. First take back up of all the documents,
2. Deassign the Sales org from the company code
3. Reassign them to next company code
4. Cutover the data again.

How Sales org & company code gets determined in POS to SAP intigration
Hi Experts,
I am a beginner in SAP IS-Retail (Sales).
I have a question on my mind that how does system determines 'Sales Organization' & 'Company Code' in the billing document which is posted trough I-Doc. I have checked a sample I-Doc but there I can not find these these org. elements .
Can someone please make me understand how system determines correct sales org/company code/distribution channel/divison.

Functional area and cost of sales accounting (company code 2000) active

I hope someone can help.
In our sandbox system, whenever I try to convert a Purchase requistion into a Purchase Order I get the following error message : "Functional area and cost of sales accounting (company code 2000) active".
Anyone know how I can resolve this issue?

CO-PA issue in Thirds Party Sales & Cross Company Code Sales
Hi,
In Third Party Sales with Shipping Notification and Cross Company Sales the CO-PA report is not reflecting the correct material cost. CO-PA is updating the material cost directly from the Material Master. Cross Company sales condition type PI02 & IV02 is using for pricing. IV02 is working perfect, but PI02 is not !
In detail, for Third Party Sales with Shipping Notification, no material is available in the stock. In material master the material cost display as $ 10/EA. But the Purchase Order value is $ 15/EA. During Goods Receipt time system is taking the cost as $ 15. While Billing time to the customer, system is posting to the CO-PA the material cost as $10/EA. FI postings are perfect, but CO-PA posting is not correct. CO-PA and P&L reconciliation is not matching due to this issue !

"Bill to" Customer and sales order company code

Can you please tell me that in sales order, what is the "Bill To" customer? Is it "Sold-to party" or "Ship-to party" or something else? In which table is it stored and what is the field name?
In which table I can find the company code related to a sales order?

Ship-to-party is nothing but to which party the material has to be shipped
Sold-to-party is nothing but to which party the material has be sold
Regarding Bill-to-Party, go through the below example
If a company has a headquarters in Banglore and it has branches in Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune.
If the people from chennai branch require some goods and they will look for a vendor and they will buy from him .
they will ask the vendor to send the bill to their headquarters in banglore and ship the goods to their chennai location.
for the above example
Ship-to-Party is chennai office
Sold-to-Party is chennai office
Bill-to-party is Banglore Head quarters.
Regarding the company code, it is stored in the table VBAK and the field name is
BUKRS_VF.
If i am wrong please correct me.

JobyIn user exit include ZXKKEU03 you should make the COPA COGS equal to the VPRS. Also you can't do a revaluation in COPA for the third party billing types.

I have done the changes of the ZIP Code for the sales organization by using the t code ovx5 the change of zip code in adress but when i rechek the changes in the order acknowledgement output there i can see the old zip code only.
Please help me how to make the change the zip code to SO, so that i can view that in output.

Check weather your developer hardcode the sales organization pin code: else check the logic weathe Sales org Pin Code is getting from following logic. Go to table TVKO and put ur sales org number in VKORG field then execute
Get the ADRNR number and pass the same in ADRC table and get the POST_CODE1 as pin code number (give same logic to your abaper)

1. In Distributor set up. how should we set up the different manufactures which supply the products for distribution.
2. How should we link the manufactures to Products they supply.
3. How should we link the sales representatives to specific manufactures.
4. Would it be a wise decision to incorporate manufactures as a division in the organization structure. Or should we map the manufactures as vendors and maintain the Vendor Info records.
It would be really great if any one can share their experiences wrt to sales organization structure in the Distribution industry especially Pharma Distribution.

first of all i have a question to you. you are manufacturer of products that means are you paying excise duty for manufacturing products or only distributor of products.

sales organizations : 2 - domestic & exports
distribution channels : 3 - retail - super stocists - C & F agents.
retail/wholesales/distributors/superdistributors/super distributors - all you can consider all into one distribution channel or tae as different distribution channels you have to analyse from reports perspective to have all these.
divisions - products = divisions lie cardiac - orthopedic to name a few.
sales office : you can have many as per your requriment.
sales group : basing on divisions = sales groups
company code = how many balance sheets you are submitting now to AAI that many company codes you have to have.
batch management with FIFO or LIFO strategy has to be mandatory in implementation.

Goods Issue posting in multiple company codes
Hello All,
While the sales order is PGI'd , there are multiple accounting documents generated. One for the sales under selling organizations company code X and another one posts a COGS under a different company code Y(Posts as Intercompany Accoounting document as it X has received from Y) which is wrong. We have 2 sales orders of different plants but with same company code , the first plant is working fine and is posting as expected , but the second one is posting multiple accounting documents to 2 company codes . We have checked all the configuration and everything looks good , we have raised a VH OSS to SAP and they are looking into it. Just wanted to get your views on taking this forward. Movement type is 601.

1. assign sales org to company code
2. Assign sales org to distribution channel
3. Assign sales org to division
4. Assign sales org distribution channel to plant
5. Set up sales area
6. Assign sales office to sales area
Like that a lot of enterprise structure assignments needs to be completed

T code VOR2 define common divisions
T code OVAO combine sales organizations
T code OVAM combine distribution channel

We have Company Code A with sales org A, and have company code B with Sales org B. There is now a requirement to merge Sales org B to company Code A and remove its linkage from company code B.

The very first Settings that needs to be changed, is:
SPRO --> IMG --> Enterprise Structure --> Assignment --> Sales and Distribution --> Assignment: Sales Org->Company Code
Here, Remove assignment of Sales Org B with Company Code B; and
Assign Sales Org B to Company Code A.
Now, your both Sales Org, i.e. A and B, are in to Company Code A.
The second Setting, that needs to be checked, is:
T. Code: OX18 - Assignment: Pant-> Company Code
If, there is any specific Plant, who is currently assigned to Company Code B, and You require it with either Sales Org A and/or Sales Org B (and Both Sales Orgs. are in Company Code A); so assign that Plant ot Company Code A.
The Third setting, that needs to be maintained:
T. Code: OVX6 - Assignment: Plant-> Sales Org./Dist. Channel
Once, done the assignment in T. Code: OX18, Assign the Plant to your Sales Org. A and/or Sales Org B.
Impact of Re-structuring the Enterprise Structure, on to Open Orders/ Deliveries/ Blling Documents
As, you know, For Delivery, Shipping Point is must and Shipping Point is assigned to Plant and Plant is assigned to Company Code (OX18) and Sales Org_Dist Channel (OVX6); System will give error as Relationship between Plant and Company Code is unique, i.e. a Plant can assigned to only one Company Code, though, a Company Code can have more than one Plant.
In short, Relationship between Sales Org, Plant and Company Code is:
Many-Many-One
It is advisable, to close all the Open Documents, before Re-Structuring the Organizational Element.

Invoice list over different company codes?

does anybody know the answer to the question: is it possible to create an invoice list with individual billing documents from different companies, or must it always be one company code?
So say I have a customer (payer) which is created for three different salesorgs and company codes. Say 3200, 3300 and 3400 and 5000. Is it possible to combine the invoices from this one payer from 3200, 3300 and 3400 on one invoicelist for sales org / company code 5000?
I wanted to test this but unfortunately not possible to system problems at this time, so I was hoping that somebody would know the answer to this.........Hi
you can try vf05 payer number and material number and execute.whether it is same company code or diffrent code i think you will get it.
or else if you have authorisation you can try customer billing status report. 100% you will get.

The best practice what normally one company follow is that we can block customers based on sales organisation via XD06 so that you wont be able to do any transactions from that particular Sales Org.
Moreover, why do you want to delete old transactions. For some reason, if you want to retrieve any old data, you cant do if you try to delete.

Applet can not run without JRE
