Sample programmes in C# for setting voltage in a TDK lambda power supply

please provide some guidance for setting the voltage of a TDK lambda power supply through GPIB. Any driver software needto be installed?

If you use an NI GPIB controller, then you will need to install NI-488 and it is recommended to install and use NI-VISA. There will be coding examples installed with the drivers. You don't mention the model number but you might find an existing instrument driver from NI or the vendor.

    Was working perfect with Thunderbird 1ghz (100mhz bus)....recently went to a n XP 2000 (133mhz bus).
random freezing and crashing all the time now.
I've set bios defaults, upgraded the bios...triple checked the heatsink/fan.....yes I've got thermal paste on....my cpu temp is only showing 41deg C idle....so it can't be a heat issue...I've ran both mem chips individually, both did the same thing.
If I run the CPU at 100mhz bus it works perfectly.
So now it comes down to my power supply.
    300watt max:  15 amps 3.3V and 22 amps 5.5V
Hmm, so I'm getting a little over 100watts true power...not good
The one I'm looking at buying is from a local computer shop.
    SuperFlower 420watt: 28 amps 3.3V and 42amps 5.5V
    So that's 210watt combined.
I've never heard of this brand name before....has anyone else? Should I get it?

i have one it works great!
ALSO if you set bios defaults it went back to 100mhz
Go into frequency and voltage jn bios and make sure spread spectrum is diabled and set fsb to 133mhz and the rest of the settings on auto. then hit f10 to save settings and exit and hit enter.

  • Need driver for Lambda power supply

    Hi,
I need driver for Lambda Zup60-7 power supply,I could not find in instrument drivers,
    it is through RS-232 communication,
Is it available ? If available please send it,otherwise try to send related VI's
    Thank you.

Check if anything here helps. Otherwise, try Tools>Instrumentation>Create Instrument Driver Project. A power supply driver is pretty simple to write.

  • Where can i get a 45 Degree angle adapter for the laptop end of the G6 power supply.

I am annoyed by the power cord sticking out at 90 Deg from the right side of my G6 Notebook . the plug obstructs the usb mouse and i am looking for a 45 Degree adapter to solve this problem.
If HP make one of these then where / what site can i get it from .
If HP do not make this type of adapter than can anyone let me know if they have seen a website so i can buy one.

What is the exact model of the notebook?
I am not certain about a 45 degree adapater, but most adapters are either straight or 90 degrees.
Here is a list of various adapters.
Even though the adapter you have may be at a 90 degree angle, it should be able to rotate to where the cord is not blocking any necessary ports.
Let me know the exact model and product number so I can give something that is a little more specific.

  • Manually installing driver for Oxford Instruments IPS power supply

    Hi!
I am trying to install the driver for an Oxford Instrument IPS 120-10 power supply. I have found the neccesary driver on the Oxford Instruments site:
    http://www.oinst-software.com/OIRI/docs/LV5drv/lv5drv.htm
My problems stems from the fact the copy of LabVIEW is on a non networked  computer, so I have to download the driver on this one and transfer by a USB stick.
The driver was written for version 5.0 and I am operating 8.5, will this be a problem?
How do I install this file? When unzipped I have a collection of .LLB files and one .INI file but no further instructions.
I can't use the "find instrument drivers..." as its not connected to the internet.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Jon

The best place to place an instrument driver is in the instr.lib folder. That way, after re-starting LabVIEW, the functions will automatically appear on your palette.
You will have a mjor problem with the driver though. LabVIEW 8.5 will not open a VI written in 5.0. You would need LabVIEW 6.x or higher to open it and then save it. If you don't have any other version of LabVIEW, you might try posting the driver and ask for help in converting it.

  • Best practices for setting up projects

We recently adopted using Captivate for our WBT modules.
As a former Flash and Director user, I can say it’s
fast and does some great things. Doesn’t play so nice with
others on different occasions, but I’m learning. This forum
has been a great source for search and read on specific topics.
I’m trying to understand best practices for using this
product. We’ve had some problems with file size and
incorporating audio and video into our projects. Fortunately, the
forum has helped a lot with that. What I haven’t found a lot
of information on is good or better ways to set up individual
files, use multiple files and publish projects. We’ve decided
to go the route of putting standalones on our Intranet. My gut says
yuck, but for our situation I have yet to find a better way.
My question for discussion, then is: what are some best
practices for setting up individual files, using multiple files and
publishing projects? Any references or input on this would be
    appreciated.

    Hi,
Here are some of my suggestions:
    1) Set up a style guide for all your standard slides. Eg.
Title slide, Index slide, chapter slide, end slide, screen capture,
non-screen capture, quizzes etc. This makes life a lot easier.
    2) Create your own buttons and captions. The standard ones
are pretty ordinary, and it's hard to get a slick looking style
happening with the standard captions. They are pretty easy to
create (search for add print button to learn how to create
buttons). There should instructions on how to customise captions
somewhere on this forum. Customising means that you can also use
words, symbols, colours unique to your organisation.
    3) Google elearning providers. Most use captivate and will
allow you to open samples or temporarily view selected modules.
This will give you great insight on what not to do and some good
    ideas on what works well.
    4) Timings: Using the above research, I got others to
complete the sample modules to get a feel for timings. The results
were clear, 10 mins good, 15 mins okay, 20 mins kind of okay, 30
mins bad, bad, bad. It's truly better to have a learner complete
2-3 short modules in 30 mins than one big monster. The other
benefit is that shorter files equal smaller size.
    5) Narration: It's best to narrate each slide individually
(particularly for screen capture slides). You are more likely to
get it right on the first take, it's easier to edit and you don't
have to re-record the whole thing if you need to update it in
future. To get a slicker effect, use at least two voices: one male,
one female and use slightly different accents.
    6) Screen capture slides: If you are recording filling out
long window based databse pages where the compulsory fields are
marked (eg. with a red asterisk) - you don't need to show how to
fill out every field. It's much easier for the learner (and you) to
show how to fill out the first few fields, then fade the screen
capture out, fade the end of the form in with the instructions on
what to do next. This will reduce your file size. In one of my
forms, this meant the removal of about 18 slides!
    7) Auto captions: they are verbose (eg. 'Click on Print
Button' instead of 'Click Print'; 'Select the Print Preview item'
instead of 'Select Print Preview'). You have to edit them.
    8) PC training syntax: Buttons and hyperlinks should normally
be 'click'; selections from drop down boxes or file lists are
normally 'select': Captivate sometimes mixes them up. Instructions
should always be written in the correct order: eg. Good: Click
'File', Select 'Print Preview'; Bad: Select 'Print Preview' from
the 'File Menu'. Button names, hyperlinks, selections are normally
    written in bold
    9) Instruction syntax: should always be written in an active
voice: eg. 'Click Options to open the printer menu' instead of
'When the Options button is clicked on, the printer menu will open'
    10) Break all modules into chapters. Frame each chapter with
a chapter slide. It's also a good idea to show the Index page
before each chapter slide with a progress indicator (I use an
animated arrow to flash next to the name of the next chapter), I
use a start button rather a 'next' button for the start of each
chapter. You should always have a module overview with the purpose
of the course and a summary slide which states what was covered and
    they have complete the module.
    11) Put a transparent click button somewhere on each slide.
Set the properties of the click box to take the learner back to the
start of the current chapter by pressing F2. This allows them to
jump back to the start of their chapter at any time. You can also
do a similar thing on the index pages which jumps them to another
    chapter.
    12) Recording video capture: best to do it at normal speed
and be concious of where your mouse is. Minimise your clicks. Most
people (until they start working with captivate) are sloppy with
their mouse and you end up with lots of unnecessarily slides that
you have to delete out. The speed will default to how you recorded
it and this will reduce the amount of time you spend on changing
    timings.
    13) Captions: My rule of thumb is minimum of 4 seconds - and
longer depending on the amount of words. Eg. Click 'Print Preview'
is 4 seconds, a paragraph is longer. If you creating knowledge
based modules, make the timing long (eg. 2-3 minutes) and put in a
next button so that the learner can click when they are ready.
Also, narration means the slides will normally be slightly longer.
    14) Be creative: Capitvate is desk bound. There are some
learners that just don't respond no matter how interactive
Captivate can be. Incorporate non-captivate and desk free
activities. Eg. As part of our OHS module, there is an activity
where the learner has to print off the floor plan, and then wander
    around the floor marking on th emap key items such as: fire exits;
first aid kit, broom and mop cupboard, stationary cupboard, etc.
    Good luck!

  • I am trying to configure my SCXI-1540 card for excitation voltage and frequency using MAX - but it is not giving me that option when I click on the card and then properties, am I looking in the wrong place?

I am trying to configure my SCXI-1540 w/1315 card for excitation voltage and frequency using MAX - but it is not giving me that option when I click on the card and then properties, am I looking in the wrong place?
I have LabVIEW Express 7.0 Professional - SCXI-1000 Chassiss - along with SCXI-1112, and SCXI 1520/1314 - cable to the PCI-6052E is attached to the 1520 card.
MAX says it recognizes all the cards in the chassiss.

    Jeremy, Thanks for the reply.
I tried to set up the system as DAQmx.
I had MAX auto-detect the set-up - and it recognized all the cards - but did not select the 1315 accessory on the 1540 card - I had to do that manually - but in the configuration section I would select the accessory and it would deselect itself. I had to get out of the set-up and then right click on the 1540 card and click on the "Accessories" tab and select the 1315 terminal block that way.
It didn't seem right that the system should behave that way, but I pressed onward.
I then tried to create a new DAQmx Task
When I create new DAQmx task and then click on Analog Input no "Position" Tab appears for me to select, all I get are:
    Analog>>Voltage
    Analog>>Temperature
    Ana
    log>>Strain
    Analog>>Current
    Analog>>Resistance
    Analog>>Frequency
    Analog>>Custom Voltage with Excitation
Do you think there might be something wrong with either my hardware or perhaps my configuration that is not allowing it to recognize the 1540/1315 in DAQmx?
I had included the system report of what programs I am using, etc. as attached file nireport.txt
After the DAQmx did not work I tried installing everything as Traditional DAQ and it did let me set-up the 1540 Card with Excitation Voltage and Frequency and gain - I then went in to the VI that I had built and tried to use the Express DAQ Assisant to read the channel that I am connected to on the 1315/1540 - when I try to use DAQ Assistant it gives me an error saying that "Device not available in NI-DAQmx. It is possible that the device is being use by traditional NI-DAQ"
Which I guess it is since both configurations are now set-up in MAX.
I would PREFER to use the DAQmx set-up, but I am confused as to WHY it won
    't come up with
    Analog input>>POSITION>>LVDT
When I try to create a new DAQmx task.
Thanks for the help so far! As you can probably tell I am new at this.

  • Host-target application for setting the PC(host) time to cRIO(target)

if there is any host-target application for setting the PC(host) time to cRIO(target)? if probably a sample program provided?

    Hi Charles,
There's a function called RT Set Date and Time that you can make use of.
We don't have a sample program but this is a very simple VI to use. Read off the current date time in Windows, then enter the corresponding info into this VI and run it. The cRIO controller will then have its date time updated accordingly.

  • Setting voltage sensitivity on NI 6581

    Hello,
    I've got the following system:
    http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/206651
    The specification says:
Selectable voltages of 1.8, 2.5, and 3.3 V or external reference voltage (1.8 to 5.5
How do I select these voltages? The manuel uses somekind of read write control with an unnamed reference.  I cannot find this reference. Is the a possibility to set this on the FPGA's vi?
    Greeting
    Matthias

    hello,
I don't really know that device, but I have ever used some RIO devices, so I can try helping you.
The manuel you are talking about shows this image :
This is a "Read/Write Control" node which can be found in the "FPGA Interface" palette. This palette is available when you edit the diagram of the RT code (I said : "RT code"...not "FPGA code").
The reference you mentioned in your message is a FPGA VI reference : you can get this reference by using "Open FPGA VI Reference" function, in the same palette ("FPGA Interface", available from RT code diagram).
Those tools allow you to control the execution of your FPGA VI from the RT part of your code : you can set control values (controls placed on the FPGA VI front-panel), run this FPGA VI, retrieve data from DMA FIFO, etc...
So, from this little screenshot, we can assume that the developer put 2 commands on the FPGA VI front-panel. The respective labels for these 2 controls are "Power Supply (Connector A)" and "Internal Power Supply Voltage".
Then, from RT code diagram, he opened a FPGA VI reference, and then changed the value of these 2 controls by using "Read/Write" Control node (before or after running the FPGA VI with an "Invoke Method" node, also available in the palette).
But...there's no screenshot showing how these 2 parameters are modified by FPGA. I guess that in the FPGA VI, an "FPGA I/O Property" node gives an access to power supply settings.
In the manual, it is said :
"Use the NI Example Finder to find several NI FlexRIO device power setting examples"...Beyond my explanations that probably sound a little bit compliicated, I think that it will be the best way to find an answer to your question ! ;-)

  • I have two Apple IDs, and this is causing problems with syncing via iCloud. How do I move everything to one ID? All advice is for setting up, not for after it's already set up.

My problem is that I have been a Mobile Me user for the past couple of years, and because of that a second Apple ID was generated in addition to the one I've been using for years. When iCloud was introduced last fall I did everything I was supposed to in setting it up, but it is evident that the syncing is not working as it should. In checking, I am certain this is because I now have two active Apple IDs. I would assume this is a common issue with all who were/are Mobile Me users.
The online help says you can't merge two IDs. Okay. What I want to do is to get rid of the Moble Me ID and only use my regular Apple ID. But the help on that issue seems to only give instructions for setting up the iCloud account. It seems that when I go into my iCloud accounts, both on my iPhone and my Mac, I can view the ID but there is no way to change them to another ID or to eliminate the account.
Please help. I am a long-time Apple user and this really should be a fairly simple matter to take care of, but this is one issue where the normally user-friendly Apple way of life is giving me fits. Thanks.

I am logged into the same things on both my iPhone and my MacBook Pro, except for mail. I use a gmail IMAP account and everything there already works on both machines. The iCloud account on my iPhone uses one Apple ID and the one on the Mac uses the second Apple ID.

I cannot send an email from my iPad 2? No problem receiving, why does this happen? Have tried the suggestions for setting up email and after doing the sync mail through iTunes receiving worked great but still cannot send? Any help would be great!

The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works.  Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up.  Try them again.
Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp.  Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp.  Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.
    Kep trying.
