SAMSUNG 50 INCH Red Patch in the center

I keep getting a red patch in the center of the screen. At first I thought it was a glitch but now its been a week and it seems more noticeable by the day. Does anyone have some info on this?
Plus If I purchased the tv at best buy without insurance how long is the factory warranty good for?

what is the model number of your TV?  some of the 2010 samsungs had noticable flashes of red that I could not label for certain.  It did affect a number of certain models from last year.  if it is still under the one year warranty period i'd seriously consider getting it looked at by a tech sooner than later.
If you like posts that I make, be sure to click on the star underneath my name. Thanks!

You'll notice that the problem is usually associated with a failed/damaged hard drive, meaning you'll likely need to have your iPod serviced if you want to get it working again.

it is an Apple Studio Display 21" CRT
everything was fine with the display, came in one day and brought the computer out of sleep mode and the display was messed up. the deskptop is compressed to a 6 inch strip in the center of the screen with black bars on the left and right.

Mission Control? It isn't a little bar in the center of the screen but does display the running apps. You can access it via the Control+Up arrow key combination and there are preferences for it in System Preferences.

I am unable to create a new profile in order to update patches onto an asset. When trying to create a new profile in order update assets, I'm unable to access any option on the "Update Profile" tab. According to the manual , http://wikis.sun.com/display/EMOC11g1/Creating+an+OS+Update+Profile , that indicates that the option is disabled and the resolution is to register and manage your assets. The problem at hand is that despite registering and managing my assets I'm still unable to create a new profile. Could somebody give me insight on what else I could do in order to carry out the task of updating assets with patches.

No the update catalog action is not active. Yes it is in connected mode and I'm unable to define a default local library (all features under libraries are mostly disabled). Yed, I have supplied connected authentication usernames and passwords. How do I go about enable these features?

    public void setImageableArea(double x, double y,  double width, double height);
like I said, I've tried this method and it doesn't seem to do anything.
the width=the JFrame Width, the height=the JFrame Height right?actually, when printing, 72 points (printing version of pixels) = 1 inch, so to do WYSIWYG, you need width = JFrameWidth * 72.0 / Toolkit.getToolkit().getScreenResolution. Ditto with height
    upper left beginningx(0)---------------------------200--------------------------------600-----------------------------------y(1000)upper right beginningyou need to do something like PageSetup.getImageableX and do Graphics.translate(x,y);
also, if your page width = 720, that = 10 inches - that's a wide page (unless its in landscape)
so if i want the JFrame To Be In The Center Of The Page I Would Choose From x=200 ,y=600 depending that frame width is 400Actually, it would be 300 - 700 in your example
    Because when i tried to use:setImageableArea(200, 600,  400, 200);like the above code
no changes occurs in the printed paperYes. You need to offset the Graphics object

I wonder why so many people call it JXML?
It is so strange - I guess the JXML name just seems more natural to some people, though I don't know why.
I think Greg is right and that labelFor is not what you want:
    http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2.0/api/javafx/scene/control/Label.html
"Labels also are useful in that they can have mnemonics which, if used, will send focus to the Control listed as the target of the labelFor property . . . A Label can act as a label for a different Control or Node. This is used for Mnemonics and Accelerator parsing. This allows setting of the target Node."

  • Is there a dark-red pixel in the middle of my ipad 2 screen, Apple Staff ignored it with rude manner.

Is there a dark-red pixel in the middle of my ipad 2 screen, I 've just it for 6 days. After that I went the store (Thailand) to turn it, they told me that it's a dead pixel and Apple won't replace it to the new one - there must be more than 3 to claim.  How can I do?
The store guy told me I should go Apple Service Center. The Center's staff kept my ipad and told that replacement depends on Regional office at Singapore.
She also blame me that "Why don't you look for dead pixel before you brought?"
What !!! Dead Pixel is the fault of Apple Factory, but she said like I'm so stupid to brought a dead-pixel ipad.
"If you want me to do something on your case call to Singapore by yourself" she said.
After I called to Singapore, I found myself the staff there treated me so bad and confuse.
    1. The first guy at Singapore said  "Because you 've just brought it for 6 week you can choose between replacement or refund, but leave me your numbers we will call you back."
    2. Shortly, a rude guy called me - said to me about Bright and Dead Pixel - then said "It's not our authority to replace ipad for you, you paid your money for our dealer (Store in Thailand), so you must ask for resposibility from them. "
What !!!!! He treated me like I'm not a customer. Store and Care Center in Thailand told me it ups to Singapore, but Singapore told me not.
Who lied? However, I'm still Apple Customer. Whatever country I brought it, I paid for Apple product. Where are thier responsibilities?
I hope, Apple U.S. is my last resort.

Given that you can return/exchange it for any reason within the 14-day window after you bought it, you shouldn't have any problems.
Do you live near an Apple retail store? That may be your best bet. It certainly worked for me: I ordered mine online and when I noticed an air bubble embedded in the glass, I brought it to my local Apple Store and 15 minutes later walked out with a replacement. No fuss whatsoever.

  • I Mac (intel based) with OSx 10.6.8, screen shows blur / hazy rectangular patch in the middle. It was small earlier but is growing in size now. How to get rid of it?

My iMac (intel based) all aluminum, OSx 10.6.8, 2.5 GHz Processor, bought about 6 months ago. It was working fine till now. Last few days a hazy blur patch appears in the center of the screen. It's growing with each passing day. How can I get rid of it? Pl help me to understand the problem and the right solutio.
    Thanks in advance.

Did you buy this from an individual, retail computer business or Apple reseller?
Do you have or did you get any type of warranty?
Before I make an assumption that there is something wrong with the LCD screen.
Both sides of the iMac's protective glass may just need cleaning.
The protective glass on your iMac is held on by strong magnets.
Power down and unplug the iMac.
You need two small suction cups to remove the glass from the iMac.
These suction cups maybe able to be found in hardware store or home improvement store.
These suction cups are of the type that can be used on window panes to hold small ornaments or hanging items attached to the window glass.
Place the suction cups at top right and left sides of the glass, make strong suction with the cups and slowly pull the glass forward toward you.
Once you have the top loose, grab the top opposite sides of the glass and pull the rest of the glass panel away from all of the magnets.
Place the glass on something soft like a soft heavy terry towel.
To clean the glass, use a non-ammonia type glass cleaner with a non-abrasive cloth.
A fairly decent size micro fiber cloth will work fine.
Throughly clean both sides of the glass, and replace the glass by putting the suction cups back , line up the bottom of the glass and attach the bottom of the glass, first.
Then slowly move the glass panel inwards holding the suction cups and get the glass close to the top and allow it to "snap" in place.
Restart the iMac and see if the blurriest went away.
If it didn't, then you may have to bring in your iMac to an Apple store or authorized Apple service center for servicing or a replacement LCD panel.
Depending on how much you paid for this iMac, get an estimate for repair.
It may cost more than you paid, for the iMac
You may have to consider purchasing another computer.

  • HT1363 My ipod click wheel will not go into disk mode.  All I get is the red circle with the X in it

The only thing my ipod will do is display the red circle with the X in it.  I can not put it in disk mode, it won't work.  It's the 160 GB classic with the click wheel.  Is there anything else I can do to make it work again?

If you are unable to get the iPod into Disk Mode, the Hard Drive is likely damaged and beyond repair. You'll probably want to have it replaced either by Apple or a third party service center.

  • Recording via line-in always below the center line

I've been recording music via a line-in input on my sound card for a while now and had no real issues. However, suddenly all recording I do falls below the center line and I have to center the waveform after recording. Ive checked the connections, bought new wires and still it happens.
    Does anyone know:
    a) what causes this
    b) what issues, if any, are caused when making an "off-center" recording?
Thank you everyone for your time.

The evidence pointed to this being just another example of a machine being designed by an engineer who was red hot on the digital side, but unaware of audio design criteria.
That is more and more turning out to be at the heart of a lot of these problems. At the place I work part-time, more and more people are beating a path to our door with what turn out to be analog problems that have been very poorly understood - or in some rather worrying cases, not understood at all because of this. I had all but given up with electronic engineering (because digital is extremely boring), but I'm getting presented with more and more of these ridiculous problems - and an awful lot of them relate to what happens during the processing of an analog signal before digitising it, because that's pretty much what analog electronics is reduced to these days - I/O. Well certainly commercially, anyway.
Sometimes it's quite good fun when digital engineers come in, and either their eyes glaze over, or more often they are genuinely shocked at what they don't know. And we think that it's all pretty basic stuff!
It had a different DC offset depending on which input was selected and then the offset changed as the gain was increased or decreased.
Hmm......as far as digitising audio in a laptop is concerned, the reference (which sets the DC level you see as a centre line) has to be set at half of the potential voltage swing of the preceding line input stage, and the swing itself has to be scaled to the input of the A-D stage. Capacitors are relatively expensive compared to resistors, so they try to include as few of these as possible in the circuitry, and I think that it's more likely that they would try to manage without them. What this means is that if the power supply to the preamp is isolated from the analog supply to the A-D converter reference, then the chances of drift or an offset in the centre line increase considerably, although in reality this drift is unlikely to be excessive, or that significant - hence the 2% figure I quoted above. If you have several different inputs, then it's hardly surprising that shifts occur - if you end up with, say, and extra mic pre with its own small offset getting magnified by the next stage, then getting to 2% should be quite easy!
No, none of these are precision circuits (or anywhere near to them, in fact) - if you want those, then you have to pay more, and use an external converter.

  • Is the 24 inch Apple Cinema Display the best choice for Final Cut Studio 2

I'm about to order a Mac Pro and Final Cut Studio 2 and have a question about monitor choices.
Is the 24 inch Apple Cinema Display the best choice are there non-Apple monitors that will do as good or better job with HD editing and output?

COMPUTER MONITORS bear very little on HD editing and output...especially output. They are just the monitors you use to look at your clips and your timeline. THey work for SD and HD. You really only use them to, well, as I said, see what you are doing. It would be nice to have GOOD ONES so the image looks decent. I use the Dell 24" monitors. The current one is the 2408. Nearly half the price of the Apple 23" displays...and really, the only Apple 23" that exists connects via their new connector, so you need a new MacPro or MacBook pro...or some adapter, to get it to work. And they are not worth the extra money, in my experience.
    Samsung monitors are also good.
