SAP Asset memo value

Hello,
While we specify memo value per company code/depreciation area, the exclusion list is based on the asset class (Asset classes without memo value).
The above setting could conflict - in a sense some company codes may require exclusion and some others may not want it. While we can manage it through the asset master record, please let me know if any of you have faced a similar situation and if there are any other way to manage this conflict.
Regards,
Ram

Hi,
If the settings are in conflict with rules on company code level oar asset class level you have another options:
1) On company code level: Transaction OAYI - memo value.
2) On derpeciation key level: You can store a cut off value key in your depr. key. (define it in  transaction. ANHAL )
3) On Asset level: You can define a scrap value in the areas as amount or percentage rate.

  • Problem with Asset Memo value

Just a memo value of 1 which we configured in OAYI.
Previously the asset depreciated until there was a value of 1 left. Now it depreciates to 0 and then plans to reverse the 1 each month until period 12 when it finally posts it.
Can you please advice if there is any other setting to be made in any tcode to ensure the asset depreciated until there is a value of 1 left and not to zero and then reverse 1.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
recently I had the same case and it was solved by note 1445133.

  • Memo value in Asset

In OAYI, I set 1usd(Set memo value per company code/depreciation area)
and In asset master, i set 0 usd(additional specifications in depreciation area tab)
So, this asset's memo value(or scrap value) is 1 usd or 0 usd ??
    what's is right?
    I guess 0 usd is right, but it's memo is 1 usd(in AW01N).
    my mistake??

    Hi ,
The purpose of a memo value is different from that of a scrap value.
<b>Memo Value</b> - The memo value is the residual value which u want to reflect in the balance sheet. Usually you do not need to manage memo values, since Asset Accounting (FI-AA) always manages gross values. This means it records both the acquisition value and accumulated depreciation, not just the net book value of assets. In this way, the system guarantees that even fully depreciated fixed assets appear in all legally required reports, even if they have a net book value of zero.
<u><b>Scrap Value</b></u> - It may sometimes be necessary to depreciate assets not to net book value zero, but only up to a scrap value or cutoff value. Therefore, the system enables you to set up a time-dependent scrap value for assets per depreciation area. There are two ways of specifying the scrap value:
&#9679;     By assigning a scrap value key to the depreciation key used in the depreciation area
&#9679;     By entering an absolute scrap value in the asset master data for the depreciation area
If you enter both an absolute value and a percentage, the standard system uses the percentage rate. SAP recommends that you always enter a percentage rate.
Hope this response provides you a more holistic view of both the options. Please reward points as a way of sayinbg thanks.
    Cheers

  • Memo Value for Main Asset and Sub Asset

    Dear Experts,
I am having the requirement that, all the main asset should have the memo value Rs 1.
For this I have specified the memo value in OAYI. But system is taking the memo value for Main asset as well as Sub asset.
But we don't want to keep the memo value for sub asset.
I hope, I am missing some settings. Could anyone please help me to solve this.
    Regards,
    Aswin

    Hi:
You need to review your copy settings for sub assets for your relevant class's screen layout in  SPRO...Financial Accounting,,,,Asset Accounting....Master data....Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data....Select the screen layout which has been assigned to your asset class in OAOA. You will not find any field for value copied. So it is not possible to avoid this happening becuase it is done a t CO code level.

  • Fixed Asset: market value

    Hi All!
Due to IAS we must post an special provision:
when the inmaterial fixed asset value market is minor than fixed asset net value we have to post a provision by depreciation (in order to reflect the possible loss when we sale it)
This provision does not affect the fixed asset countable net value. So that provision don't have post in 01 depreciation area. But:
1- when we sell the assets the provision must appear in the sale affecting to the benefit or loss.
2- I need to know the provision for each fixed assets. That's why we need SAP shows its in FI-AA area.
With the transactions under Manual Value Correction folder (fixed asset menu) the fixed asset net value is modified.
We've tried to implement a second area doesn’t affect to fixed
asset values from the 01 depreciation area and vice verse to post there this provision. But The system doesn’t allow that (message error number AC528)
    Do have more ideas?
    Thank You in advance

Hi Vijay, thank you for your answer but...
It seems that Transferred Reserves is used to sell a fixed asset and transfer the benefit to other asset (If I've undertood right)
I put an exemple to fix the question:
    I adquiered a fixed asset by 1.000 euros (a building) in 2005
    - Deprecation key: LIND (Str.-line) /  Use Life: 10 years
In 2007 my building on second hand house market is valuated in 500 euros (minor than fixed asset countable net value 800 euros).
So I must post a provision by depreciation by 300 euros. That post does'nt affect to fixed asset countable net value (is just a provision). My fixed asset countable net value is 800 euros.
In 2010 I sold my asset by 1.000 euros. My fixed asset countable net value is 500 euros. So my profit is 500 euros. Then I must to reverse the provision post in 2007 .
I need to post that provision related to fixed asset but without affect to asset net value, to reverse that in the asset sale.
    Thank You very much
    Francesc

  • Some question about asset depreciation value?

In our system, there is a asset acquisition value 3297600, use life 5 years.
We use Straight line to calculate depreciation value of one month is 3297600 / 5 / 12 => 54960, this asset will be completed depreciation in 2011/08,
    Original Value
    2011/01 -54960
    2011/02 -54960
    2011/03 -54960
    2011/04 -54960
    2011/05 -54960
    2011/06 -54960
    2011/07 -54960
    2011/08 -54960
When our user transfer other asset value to this asset, the asset depreciation becomes a strange value.
The User trasnfers two asset value to this asset. The first asset transfered 303090 (Asset acquisition 3030900, Accumulated depreciation -2727810) in 2011/03/31, The second asset transfer 12480 (Asset acquisition 149,760, Accumulated depreciation -137,280)  in 2011/04/30
User expects the deprecaition value as below
    2011/01 -54960
    2011/02 -54960
    2011/03 -54960 + -50515
    2011/04 -54960 + -50515 + -2496

    2011/08 -54960 + -50515 + -2496

    2011/02 -54960
    2011/03 -54960 + -50515

    2011/07 -54960 + -50515 + -2496
    2011/08 1,949 (?)
    2011/09 -107,971 (?)
    2011/10 98,534 (?)
    2011/11 -100,483 (?)
I don't know why the SAP calculated depreciation period becomes to 2011/11?
How can I change the asset depreciation value to "User expects the deprecaition value"?
The user chooses depreciation key AS90 Configuration as below

    Hi,
In SAP there are different settings depending if you what the additional incoming charges to depreciate with independent start dates, versus all subsequent acquisitions to an asset record adopting the existing "Capitalized on" date in master data for the very first acquisition to record.
Are you getting the other option not desired?

  • Memo value

    Hi,
I have set memo value last period for existing assets.  When we run depreciation after the setting, it picked up the correct figure.  The net book value for the fully depreciated asset was 1.
But when we do a test run in this period, the net book value no longer 1 but 0.
    Please advice why this happen.

    Hi,
do you have any changeover to a phase which doesn´t consider the memo value? Maybe changeover after end of useful life or similar.
    Regards,
    Markus

  • Asset acquisition value is not updating in Asset history sheet & AW01N

    Hi,
The issue is the asset acquisition values are not updated in AW01N & Asset history sheet report for particular asset acquisition transaction only.
it`s showing in asset history sheet but its nt added in the current APC value in the asset history report & also its showing in AW01N transaction but in acquisition change column its not updating.
I have also checked the below link but still i am persisting the same problem.
    Asset acquisition value not updating
    Regards
    Amit

    Hi Amit,
    check note  366848.
Implement reports RACORR110_B and the report RACORR55 from the note 366848 in your system.
At first run the report RACORR110_B. Check the  field ANLC-ANSWL bevor and after running the report.
The report RACORR110_B accumulates the values of the asset line items  and writes the result in the field ANLC-ANSWL.
After this, please start the report RACORR55. This report forwards the  values in the following year.
(If this is not the reason (ANLC is correct), the report makes nothing.)

  • Asset Legacy dt upld-problem in uploading fiscal year assets without value

    Hi all ,
I am trying to upload Assets which are pertaining to current Fiscal year and for which no depreciation run is taken place , using Tcode AS91,
    Initially I got error :
Capitalization date must be earlier than or same as transfer date.
Then I changed transfer date to  31.03.2009 .
Now I am getting error  :
Current fiscal year 2008 has to be after transfer date 31.03.2009 .
How do I take these Assets with / without values ?
and if without values , then how can I update Asset values ?
    Regards ,
    Pallavi .

    Hi Ramesh,
I have same scenaio we are uploading the assets on 30.09.2008, so our data transfer date is same.
    The issue is
    1. When we start AS91 for current year, assets takeover values fields are in display mode.
    System configuration was:-
A). Legacy data transfer date was 30.09.2008
B). last period posted in previous system was 6th
C). capitalized date taken by me is after 31.03.2008 (Note: - when I take capitalization date before 31.03.2008, than system show me take over tab in change mode)
2). While doing AS92 also system shows me all takeover tab fields in display mode, when I select capitalization date after 31.03.2008.
The thing is that how we can upload all those assets which we have purchased in the current year and how we will treat with the depreciation in the system
up to which date we should take accumulated dep for previous year assets.
please answer if u want i can raise a seprate question.
