SAP BI general settings

Dear Gurus,
My client is implementing ECC and BI in parallel. I'm the only person responsible for BI. I idetified few new gl related standard cubes as a scope. BI dev box will be ready within a day or couple. My question is before I start the configuration, do I have to do any BW general settings. Can you please let me know?  and I promise right rewards for the right answer.
Thanks in advance.
Seenu

This step should be performed only after ECC people complete the configuration of fiscal variant, unit of measure and currency key on ECC side right??? Please confirm.

  • SAP Netweaver/General settings/Set Countries/Set Country-Specific Checks

    Hi All,
    following the customizing navigation:
    SAP Netweaver/General settings/Set Countries/Set Country-Specific Checks
    By the flag "Other data", I can activate the check of tax numbers.
    So, SAP gives me an error message if a tax number filled in master data of customers or vendors is wrong.
    I'd like to change the message in warning...
    I've tried to do it, but without unsuccessfully.
    Could anyone help me?
    Thanks

    Hello,
    This is a cross client activity which is not directly available in the system in OBA5.
    The error message that is AR191
    You need to go to transaction code OBMSG and enter the message number in application area.
    In case if you get a warning message at this time stating that: "Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted". In that case you need to check with your basis administration to allow the cross client settings in SCC4. Until you make necessary changes in SCC4, your OBMSG transaction code is in ONLY DISPLAY mode.
    Application Area: AR
    Message No.191
    Allowed: W
    Standard: E
    Save your entries.
    Now this is available in OBA5 and give the application area AR and enter the message number.
    In Online and batch put the message number to W.
    Save your entries.
    Hope this solve your issue.

  • Cannot Update Decimal Places in General Settings

    When I try to update the decimal points in the Administration > System Initialization > General Settings > Display path, SAP B1 gives me the following error:
    "Cannot update while another user is connected to the company."
    I am the only one on the system as "manager" with "Super User" and "Full Authorization"...
    The SAP B1 Guide titled "How to Make Initial Setting in Business One - US" says "you can change these settings at any time".
    QUESTION:  What might be stopping this change, and more importantly, how do I get around this error to be able to change the decimal points?
    Thanks all - Zal

    Hi Zal,
    I agree with you about the strange messaging used by SAP.
    But blocking the possibility to decrease the decimal places is extremely important.
    Suppose you have inserted a sales document with two items in this way:
    Item 1 ___Qty 1,234  ___Unit price 1,22  ___Line total  1,51
    Item 2 ___Qty  5,756 ___Unit price 3,15  ___Line total 18,13
    ____Document total 19,64
    Then, someone wants to change the number of decimal places of the quantity from 3 to 2.
    What happens would be:
    Item 1 ___Qty 1,23  ___Unit price 1,22  ___Line total  1,51
    Item 2 ___Qty  5,75 ___Unit price 3,15  ___Line total 18,13
    ____Document total 19,64
    If you try to do the calculations manually you will see that the results are not correct. In fact all the document would have to change in:
    Item 1 ___Qty 1,23  ___Unit price 1,22  ___Line total  1,50
    Item 2 ___Qty  5,75 ___Unit price 3,15  ___Line total 18,11
    ____Document total 19,61
    Also if the document total will show correct (in the case of rounding the second decimal position of item 2), the totals of any line is wrong. In fact there is no recalculation at all in SAP (and must not be done).
    Imagine such a modification over thousand of documents and all of the descendants (mainly if the have lead to printouts - as say confirmations - sent to customers or vendors).
    None of the economic figures will match.

  • Can't update decimals in General Settings

    Currently running V9PL11, with Addon InterCompany v2 for one head office and one branch. Logged in as manager.
    I am trying to update the decimal places for Quantity and Percent in the general settings of the Head office as the branch's decimal place for these two fields is greater, and as to comply with the InterCompany's prerequisites.
    When I press update I get the following error message:
    "Cannot update while another user is connected to the company."
    The only other user connected is B1i !!!!!!!
    I disconnected the InterCompany Addon, logged out and back in, try the same update, but still getting the same error message.
    Would anyone know the right method to get to update these decimal places.
    Also, can someone talk to SAP and tell them how ridiculous this situation is?

    Hi Phil,
    Please check below links.

    Cannot Update Decimal Points While Another User is on the System

  • Extended Notification; General Settings SAPLOGON_ID

    Hi Everyone!
    We are planning to administer the extended notifications just by using the view cluster.  We want to define the SAP GUI for Windows as the SAP GUI to use to display or execute work items in the Subscription Settings view.
    The SAP Library says that <b>'you should specify a cross-company, unique LOGON_ID for the parameter SAPLOGON_ID in the General Settings view: Otherwise the system displays a logon window when the user navigates from a message to an SAP System'</b>.
    I think this is my error. I really don't know what to put in SAPLOGON_ID parameter. How will I get this unique ID.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Reymar

    Hi Reymar / Vhong,
    You can check what the default client is by just starting SAP. A client is predefined. If you need to change it before logon then you could ask basis to set the correct one. I think it is a system parameter, but they should know.
    I couldn't say if you could set anything in the extended notification, because I am not that familiar with it, but I would expect it sets the client it is run from in the short-cut. If not it could be bug and you should check OSS.

  • Accounting Integration & Make General Settings

    Dear All,
                 I have following questions in cProjects Accoting Integration. Request you all to clear these things.
                1. What is exactly cost and revenue in cPorjects. How exactly they will be used generally.
                2. Under Accounting Integration we have a activity called 'Make General settings'. Under revenue calc type, there are two options. 1. Use cProjects Cost/revenue rated. 2. Use Sales Pricing in SAP ERP. If i select the second option where i need to enter the sales pricing details in ERP.
                3. Without entering the timesheet information, how to calculate the actual costs.
                4. In Organization Structure in PPOME, where exactly we need to enter the cost/revenue rate for the resource.
    regards,

    Hi Rajesh,
    1. What is exactly cost and revenue in cPorjects. How exactly they will be used generally.
    -->http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ppm450/helpdata/en/43/054880bbe822f5e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm
    2. Under Accounting Integration we have a activity called 'Make General settings'. Under revenue calc type, there are two options. 1. Use cProjects Cost/revenue rated. 2. Use Sales Pricing in SAP ERP. If i select the second option where i need to enter the sales pricing details in ERP
    -->If you working in MTS OR ETO Scenario that time second option comes into picture . That time you create your project against that sale order and in sales order you maintain sale pricing details
    To create sale order use VA01 and assign here you pricing
    before that you have to do following settings in SD MODULE.
    v/08 -->Pricing procedure define
    ovkk --> pricing procedure assign
    v/06 -->condition type
    v/07 -->accesses sequence
    vk11 -->condition record
    3. Without entering the timesheet information, how to calculate the actual costs
    -->That depend upon which type of project you Use if it is IT/design project then time sheet is must but when it related with building product or construction then costs calculation will change.
    4. In Organization Structure in PPOME, where exactly we need to enter the cost/revenue rate for the resource

    O -- organization unit
    S -- position

  • Decimals in query on General Settings

    Hi experts,
    I set the decimal places in General settings as follows;
         Amounts = 0
         Decimals in Query = 2
    And currncies settings is as follows;
         EUR : Decimals = 2 Digits
    Then for example, Invoice can be input as 10.35 EUR. But if I check the JDT1 by query , the amount shows 10.
    It seems that the option for Decilas in query doesn't work. Is that a bug already known??
    Also I can't get 10.35 on PLD of Journal entry. The fiels is Debit amount (FC) and Credit amount (FC), they are also shown as 10.I think this is same reason that JDT1 doesn't show 10.35.
    I know if I set the decimal places of amounts=2, query shows 10.35. But Local ccy and System ccy have no decimal, so I don't want to set amount =2.   Version is 9.0 PL07.
    Please advise.
    Thanks and regards,
    Kaori

    Hi,
    Tested in 8.82 version:
    For example, create sales order with quantity of 1 and unit price 10.35
    Condition 1:
    Set all decimal places to zero and only set decimal place for query = 2
    Run below query:
    select t0.quantity , t0.unitprice from RDR1 t0.
    Result:
    T0.quantity         T0.unitprice
      1                              10
    Condition 2 :
    Set all decimal places to zero and only set decimal place for query= 2
    Run below query to multiply quantity with price
    select t0.quantity * t0.unitprice from RDR1 t0.
    Result:
    T0.quantity         T0.unitprice
      1                              10.35
    So decimal place in query will affect when do perform calculation through query.
    Condition 3:
    Set Price decimal places to 2 and only set decimal place for query= 0
    Run below query:
    select t0.quantity , t0.unitprice from RDR1 t0.
    Result:
    T0.quantity         T0.unitprice
      1                              10.35
    Final conclusions:
    1. When you perform calculation in query (condition 2), the decimal place in query will take effect, regardless of decimal place in all other field
    2. When you retrieve data directly from field (condition 3), the decimal place in query will not take effect. But decimal place set for price will take effect.
    3. In your case, your query directly retrieve the data from JDT1 table. So that decimal in query (2 place) no effect on query result. Query result shows 10 because, the decimal for price field 0.
    4. To get correct result (10.35), you have to set two decimal places for price field.
    5. Please ignore the SAP note.
    Hope it will be helpful.

  • Changing Exchange Rate Posting in General Settings

    Hi, Plesae I need your help concerning the exchange rate. i'm using SAP Business One 8.8 PL 15. In the display tab in Administration -> System Initialization -> General Settings, I chose "Indirect". However, many transactions (invoices) were done.
    I want to change the Exchnage Rate Posting to "Direct". I know that I cannot change this setting after the first posting is made.
    But, is there a way to solve this problem. I 'm in a big trouble. Please any suggestions?
    Thank you.

    Hi Nadia,
    unfortunately you are looking at the creation of a new database. This is one of the fundamental settings of the application & affects all postings. Therefore it is not possible to change this setting after postings were made.
    You can check the DTW templates for the transactions you already have & extract the required data using queries. Convert the query output into DTW files & then use these templates then to populate the empty back up of your customised database.
    All the best,
    Kerstin

  • GEneral Settings

    Dear Experts,
    In Administration>System Initialization>General Settings>font & Bkgrnd Tab I change Font Tahoma to Rupee Foradian.
    for taking new Indian Rupee Style in documents.
    It goes well.
    But every time i log off from SAP and Re login  Font changes auto to tahoma. I tried two to three times but getting same problem.
    Every time when login i have to change font in general settings.
    How to set font permanently?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ravi

    Hi Gordon.
    Its good to see your reply.
    I got one question. I have 3 Servers on different Places.
    1. Main Server for SAP B1 Server
    2. Client Server              -                6 clients
    3. Client Server              -                8-10 Clients
    These Clients are Thin Clients(with no Harddisk, No IP Address using Server IP and working on Server remotely)
    So I just want to know if I have to install Rupee Foradian font on all 3 Servers or only on Main Server?

  • General Settings - Font Size??

    Hi,
    Does anyone know how we can access the General Settings - Font Size that the user has set for themselves?  I cannot seem to find anyway to get this via the SDK or even where this is stored in a table to simply query it.
    Thanks,
    David

    Hi Lita,
    It's held in the b1-current-user.xml file in the user's Application Data folder in their profile. Default path would be:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<Profile Name>\Local Settings\Application Data\SAP\SAP Business One
    In this file, you will find the font name and size if the user sets a value other than the default (Tahoma 10pt).
    <leaf kind="single" name="FontFace" type="String">
          <value>Lucida Bright</value>
    </leaf>
    <leaf kind="single" name="FontSize" type="String">
         <value>14</value>
    </leaf>

  • SWN CONFIG  Filters and General Settings

    Hi,
    I have entered one task in the Filter Settings and have scheduled the job.
    so when ever workitem related to that task is created, email is sent to outlook.
    I would like to add 3 more tasks to the filters so that email should be sent whenever the workitem for the 4 tasks is created.
    How do i add the other 3 task entries ??
    In the General Settings, WD_HOST entry, i have given the link of webdynpro application (Lets call it A).
    but as mentioned above i would like to add multiple tasks to filter and for each task there is a different application which should be called.
    How do i make the entries in General Settings so that the appropriate application is called for each individual task.
    Any links/blogs or information to achieve this would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    PR.

    Hi,
    I have already gone through the sdn blog and the sap library.
    I was able to specify the task what i wanted in the Filter Settings and schedule a batch job so that the email is sent to outlook when a workitem relevant to the task is created.
    In the General settings for the field WD_HOST, i specified a link of the webdynpro application which gets called when the workitem is executed in outlook.
    But if i add more than 1 task in the filter settings, i wanted to add a second link for that task.
    Can anyone shed more information on how to set different link in general settings for each task which i specify in filter settings.
    Regards,

  • User authorisations u2013 general settings SBO2007A

    In SAP Business One 2007A, on limited CRM users, even if I give them access to the administration modules that they can access, a user cannot see the general settings. (Administration >> System initialisation >> General settings)
    Therefore any user who is not a Pro user, cannot set their font size and background image.
    Is there a way around this?

    Try Changing them to a Pro user...make the desired font settings and then change them back to CRM
