SAP BRIM Concept - BUAG and Provider Order EHP3

Hello Experts,
can anyone explain in how far the CRM objects business agreement (BUAG), provider order and provider contract are connected?
What is the logical difference and in how far is there a coherence between these objects?
Thank you for your support
Vanessa

Hi Vanessa,
there's potentially a lot to add to this question and the following is for sure not complete, but hopefully helps you to get the basics:
Provider Order and Contracts
Provider Orders are used to capture any kind of create and change request with regard to subscription services provided to end customers. For the creation of services this can be the simple rate plan or a package comprising the delivery of hardware, installation services, activation fees and multiple rate plans reflecting different services bundled together.
Once the customer accepts such an order during order fulfillment the system creates follow-up documents. For all items of type rate plan the system creates corresponding items in provider contracts.
The contract is used to track the status of this services in downstream systems (billing, technical provisioning,...). It also serves as starting point for change requests and stores the time-dependent history of the contract data.
When changes should be applied, the system copies the current contract state into a new Provider Order. It can be processed either through change processes or directly by changing field values. Again: once the customer accepts the changes captured by submitting the order, the changes are transferred back into the Provider Contract.
In short: Provider orders tracks the change requests; the Provider Contract manages the installed base of the services.
Business Agreement
The business agreement is a separate object, that can be linked to Provider documents on header and item level. It's only used when you use CRM together with FI-CA (or RM-CA, depending on the industry solution you are using). In those cases the business agreement maps to the contract account object managed in ERP and allowing to group and settle the open items generate by the business transactions during the contract life time. The business agreement/contract account serves as one of the splitting criteria for invoices.
It stores payment related data like payment terms, payment methods and dunning procedures.
If you are not using FI-CA this data will be captured directly in the Provider documents without creating any business agreement. This mode is only available with CRM 7.0 EhP3 SP04.
Best regards
Stefan

    Hi SAP BRIM Experts,
is it possible to use a master agreement without a sharing contract? In our requirements we do not need any counters.
    Thanks and best regards
    Vanessa

    Hi Vanessa,
    for sure you can.
The sharing contracts are an optional feature. You should create and assign one only if you want to have e.g. a common pool prepared for all users within the master agreement.

  • SAP BRIM with FICAX and DIMPS  in a single ERP system

In our existing the ERP system, the DIMP (Industry extension)  business function set is activated, but we are not using any features or capabiliities that DIMP offers. We now plan to use FI-CAX, Does any one know how to deactivate DIMP and turn 'ON' FI-CAX.
For example, Can we builld a new instance with DIMP off and FI-CAX 'ON' and do a database copy (refresh) from our our exisitng system to this new instance, does it work or are there any challenges with this approach?

Yes Finally I Got the solution.
    please check
    >r3trans -d   To Check Conectivity between Apps and DB Server.
If 000 then its OK- mean connectivity is OK, in this case all work.
when I was installing Second system then tnsname.ora and listner file was creating and privios system entry was removed.  DUE to that reasion First one goes down.
Solution:-  Both system entry should be Listner and tnsname file. Then Both server will work.

  • SAP BRIM Provider Order can be submitted but no contract is created (change process ISTD)

    Hi Experts,
This question is related to previous entry SAP BRIM Provider Order does not generate a Provider Contract
Currently provider order (Standard Transaction Type PROV) can be submitted but unfortunately it does not create a provider contract when clicking on "Submit".
No error messages are shown on screen. PPF Actions seems to be ok, as status is green (see attached screenshot)
There are no errors in the order and number range is defined.
Can anyone provide a list of requirements für ISTD process to create a provider contract?
    Thank you and best regards
    Vanessa

Findings are that asynchronous contract creation should be disabled in customizing "Define Settings for Transaction Types". Additionally there are relevant corresponding SAP Notes: 1925135 (for SP02) and furthermore 1965276 (SP04) because contract process does need the target process type to create a contract (there is an error in SAP Standard).

  • SAP BRIM Provider Order does not generate a Provider Contract

    Hello Experts,
can anyone provide a reason why a provider order does not generate a provider contract when the Button "Submit" is clicked?
The status of the order is set to "Released" (like it should) but there is no new contract and no error message.
    Thank you
    Best Regards
    Vanessa

    Hi Vanessa,
starting point for analysis: Check the log of actions (PPF actions) on provider order header level.
The contracts are created by a standard action that is scheduled for status "released", "order modified" and no error state.
If you maintained customer transaction types/item categories -> maybe there's something missing for the copy control.
Or another common missing setting: number range for provider contracts.

  • Check date and check order

    Dear Experts,
    Fairly general question.
A check instruction can have av. check first and alloc check next and vice versa.. with no apparent difference in results of the confirmed quantity in either case. (unless we bring in rules and remaning requirement logic that I am not at the moment).
There is small and sensible requirement.
I want to confirm a sales requirement against remaining allocation at a different date vis-a-vis actual availability check date (mbdat) against ATP quantity. For simplicity assume there is no b/w and f/w consumption in allocation design.
SAP help says this is controllable such in standard. but I want to know what could be the possible side effects and any other possible interpretation of such a design...keeping in mind this is change on top of live system where pre-sales and sales documents consume allocations without a strong concept of scheduling (within the check framework). Could this have any bearing on the order of check steps i.e. if I want to check allocations at a date earlier than material availability date, should Allocation check be the first step. I need to set up a hell lot to verify all this. help.com has no such re-assuring statement that I could locate.Hence looking for first cut answers from your experiences.
Business context: I want to check remaining allocated quantity on "scheduled" goods issue date as opposed to material availability date which is scheduled backwards from customer requested date. The reason being the customer has been promised a certain shipping date based on a auction he won. This means that being able to meet shipping date is more important than being able to meet scheduled delivery date. This is true of not all sales scenarios but only some. Moreover we take allocations seriously because that is the very basis for production planning from the limited raw materials from nature
    Regards,
    Loknath

    Loknath,
I don't really understand most of what you have asked.  You have stated it all as theory and not given any concrete examples of how you would like the system to react under various scenarios.  However, I will answer as many questions as I can.
I need to set up a hell lot to verify all this
???? provided you already have a working SCM product check configured, and provided you do not have to create a custom characteristics, you can set up and test a single sequence combination alloc/product check ATP in less than a working day.  Once set up, you can switch the allocation/product check sequence in your check instructions in seconds.  The total amount of work will be the same, regardless of which sequence you end up using.  This is work you will have to do anyway to implement allocation.  If you check your planning area directly during development, you can vastly reduce the amount of time you spend on testing your theories.  In a day you will have created 90% of the final solution, and you will have tested multiple theories and scenarios.  The only wasted effort would be if you decided to abandon allocation altogether.
if I want to check allocations at a date earlier than material availability date
??? of the 3 dates available, MAD is the earliest.  What date do you intend to check that is earlier than MAD?
I want to check remaining allocated quantity on "scheduled" goods issue date as opposed to material availability date which is scheduled backwards from customer requested date.
???  Both dates (GID & MAD) are scheduled backward from delivery date.
There is nothing inherently right or wrong in using any of the 3 dates (MAD/GID/DelivDat).  When you are setting up your allocation quantities, you need to set them up in terms of the date within the sales order that you will be checking.  All the dates in your planning book will represent one of the three dates, as configured in your allocation group.
The most common reason to implement allocation is that order entry is expected to be far in excess of capacity. Under these conditions, when I set up allocation, I usually set up Allocation first, then product check.  I do this mostly to limit system load during backorder processing, since in most allocation situations, more orders will fail allocation check than will fail product check.  The product check on these orders never gets executed.

  • Usage of Cost Centers, Profit Centers and Internal Orders

    Hello everyone,
i have perhaps for some of you a simple question but it bothers me alot.
Imagine we are using Cost centers and Internal Orders. For them we create statistical key figures using transaction KB31N.
Now we are installing SAP BI and want to create a report which would be generated acording to cost centers but with statistical key figures.
The question would be how to make a connection between cost centers orders and those stat.key.figs?
In our case the economists say that we are using this kind of scenario:
    Dist.chanel ->
    Sender: Cost center, Cost element
    Receiver: Int.Order
    and Stat key fig.
This is the only place where we have a connection between thos objects. Is there other way how to connect them. perhaps using profit centers?
If somebody didnt understand it, maybe ill try to explain it a bit better
    Reagards
    Laurynas Prikockis

    Hi Laurynas,
Pls try to understand the concept as explained hereunder...
    Cost Element:
Primary Cost Element : Replication of GL to bring costs into CO module when they are posted in FI
                                       module
Secondary Cost Elements: Carriers of costs between two Cost Objects (when we want to transfer the
cost from Cost Centers to Internal Orders, vice versa and more, we create
Secondary Cost Elements to carry the costs and transfer them to the
                                            reciever objects from sender objects)
Cost Center: It is a Cost Object, maintained on long-term basis, where we can capture the costs (Ex:
                        Marketing Cost Center)
Internal Order: It is also a Cost Object, maintained on shor-term basis, where we can capture the costs
(Ex: Internal Order for Special Marketing Campaign). Ultimately, whatever the costs
posted to this Internal Order, will get settled to Marketing Cost Center.
Staitistical Key Figure: It is used as a basis for allocation of certain expenses (Simple example would
be, Total rent paid for office is $100000 per month. This cost has to go to
different Cost Centers like Finance and Accounts, Marketing, Purchase Dept
etc on the basis of "Area Occupied". So, We will define "Area Occupied" as a
Statistical Key Figure in our system.
Now, when the Rent amount is posted in FI, it wil reach a Virtual Cost Center
(An "Allocation Cost Center" with name "Rent" to be created under your
Controlling Area) "Rent". From there, it has to reach the other Cost Centers (lie
F&A etc as explained above) on the basis of Area Occupied (SKF Created
                                     for "area occupied")
For this, you need enter the Area Occupied values (Ex:Sq Ft) in KB31N and you need to create an Allocation Cycle (Distribution / Assessment) where in you will select "Area Occupied" (SKF) as your Receiver Tracing Factor.
I hope I am clear, don't hesitate to revert back for more explanation...

  • Sales order and purchase order date management

    Hi all,
I am new to SAP so please pardon the question in advance if this is a basic one.
I need a little help with purchase order and sales order dates.  Our supplier runs SAP and our two systems are tied together. Currently my supplier is not updating their promise date because this is how we are tracking late shipments. However, this means ETA/ETD dates are incorrect.  Is there a way for us to keep track of late shipments and still maintain accurate ETD/ETA dates? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Firstly, thank you Edgar and Rahul for taking the time to answer my question.
Apologies guys I should have provided more information in my initial post.
Our parent company is also our supplier.  We cut a purchase order, notify them of the purchase order and in turn they cut a sales order.  My supplier (parent company) is stating if they update the "first date" column in their sales order (which would in turn populate a correct ETA date) we will lose the ability to track late shipments.
To answer your question Edgar I am referring to the sales document. It is my understanding my supplier is only modifying the "First Date".  Are there several date field in a sales document we can use to 1. track original promise date 2. maintain accurate ETA?
From a "customer" standpoint I need to be able to view both dates so that I know when I can expect to actually receive product and if that product is/was late.
    Thanks!

  • DMS Object Link at Maintenence Order and Service order level

    Hi SAP Gurus,
We had a requirement for maintaining DMS Object at Service order and maintenence order level, as Standard DMS does not provide any Standard Object link at Order level, we went for development and following the Standard procedure i could bring the Order Tab in CV01N Object Links, and also i could search the relavent maintenence order and maintain documents relevant to it,
But the biggest problem now is i could not create DIR from the Maintenence or service order screen IW31, and the document i have placed at the order is not visible in the order screen at all,
i know it is some sort of enhancement in the Order screen to allow DMS Documents to appear in the Order screen to provide this funtionality.
let me pls know what exactly has to be done, as there is no config at the order level to get the DMS Screen, as DMS is not a standard object at the order level.
one approch as suggested is modifiying the Order screen or using Screen Exit Enhancement for Order but not sure which one to use or how to move ahead,
    Thanks n Regards
    Priya S

    Dear Christoph Hopf
    Many Thanks for your answer,
i went through the said SAP Note, but it only speaks about the notifications level, where SAP itself has provided the standard DMS Object links, and iam in latest ECC-6 version where this note  is taken care of i think,
iam looking for creating DMS Document (DIR) from the maintenence Order IW31 transaction screen, and have developed new Object link for Maintenence order,
but the main problem is, iam not able to create DIR from the IW31 Screen directly as Maintennce order is not a standard SAP Object,
please let me know how to get the list of documents that i have attached to a maintenence order to appear in the IW32 maintenence order screen, and also we need to create the documents (DIR) directly from IW31 / 32 screens.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • How to test the SAP modules like SD and MM By using Quality Center and QTP

    Hi Experts,
How to test the SAP modules like SD and MM By using Quality Center and QTP. Can you please provide the documentation regarding this.
    Regards,
    Skumar.

    Hi Sampath,
First install QTP and SAP Addin with in QTP.
2nd use QC to develop the test plan and then convert that test plan design to Test Scripts (QTP vesrion using settings)
3rd record the R/3 GUI screen of SAP for SD, MM like Create order or Create PR.
Once recording is done QTP will create a script in VB
    SAPGuiSession("Session").SAPGuiWindow("SAP Easy Access  -  User").SAPGuiOKCode("OKCode").Set "/nVA01"
    SAPGuiSession("Session").SAPGuiWindow("SAP Easy Access  -  User").SendKey ENTER
you can always add a parameter and other customization according to your requirement.
Let me know if you need more information regarding this.
    Good Luck!

  • Diference between STO and Shipment order?

    Hi All ,
There are two plants , one is manufacturing and other is sales .  In sales plant sales order is created and after MRP run Purchase requisition is created(for getting materisl from production plant) . In me59 we convert this Preq to shipment order.
1)Can oyu please tell me whant is diference between STO and shipment order?
    2) Can you tell me what is the configuration to avoid creation of shipment order and system will only create the STO from Preq after executing Me59?
    Thanks
    Rohit Chavan

    Hi Chavan,
Starting with "Shipmnt Order" definition => (from SAP Help):
An order to a transportation service provider to ship goods from a shipper to a single consignee with agreed terms and conditions. The corresponding confirmation from the transportation service provider is also part of the business object.
You can use this business object to subcontract the transportation of goods from a shipper to a single consignee if you cannot fulfill a shipment request yourself or if you regularly subcontract transportation services.
You can also use this business object in the process of transportation service provider selection and tendering. The aim of both processes is to assign a suitable transportation service provider (TSP) to a shipment order.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_tm60/helpdata/en/66/dda98bb6b64c30b925f031bb0a2023/content.htm
STO is just Stock Transport Order => functionality to move stock from one plant to another plant in two steps( inclidung GI in the sending plant and GR in the receiving plant).
Usuall documnt flow in the STO process => PO(UB or NB order type), delivery, GI -> GR (done via migo for example).
I believe that you can avoid cration of the Shipmnt order via correct selection on ME59 screen. Just something what is characteristic for STO and not for Shipmnt Orders.
    Best Regadrs,
    Tomek.
