SAP Connection solution?

Dear all,
I am searching the best way to connect SAP with Oracle. I need both directions with getting huge SAP data into Oracle and store only few data back. Mainly I need the connection inside PLSQL but also in the JAVA environment.
A lot discussions with Oracle gave me the following three options:
- ODI
- OSB
- SAP Webservices
What would you prefer ?

For bulk data movement/integration ODI is a recommended solution.

Handling Purchase Orders in SAP Learning Solution

Hi all,
We are currently looking into having purchase orders closely integrated in our SAP Learning Solution, meaning that all courses, internal and external, that comes with a prize have purchase order information on it. Meaning the manager approves the purchase order (and thereby the participation on the course) in a workflow.
The approval yields a course booking and Finance has all the needed information based on cost center and organization data.
Please help as we are currently seeing this task as almost impossible to handle in the current setup.

SAP Learning solution and SABA LMS Centra Integration/Interface

I am busy with a SAP Learning Solution implementation and I have a requirement to integrate with Centra which is SABA LMS virtual classroom software. Does anyone know where I can get documentation on how to do this, how long it takes and what skills are needed to do it?

I am not aware of any customer who has integrated SABA Centra with SAP Learning Solution. However there are several implementations of SAP Learning Solution integrated with Adobe Connect. Studying the documentation of this integration and talking to the consultants who have done such implementation might give you an idea of the skills required and the time taken. A good amount of documentation is available from the [book on SAP Enterprise Learning|http://www.sap-press.com/products/SAP-Enterprise-Learning.html] You may want to talk to the product owner Srinivasa Raghavachar to get his thoughts and additional documentation.
If possible ask your customer if they are willing to consider using Adobe Connect, which is part of SAP Enterprise Learning.

Trying to evaluate VBScript to SAP connection

Hello,
 I'm in need of some help. I have no experience with SAP, I'm currently working with VBScript. The company I work for uses SAP and they deployed a module to track parts being received. Unfortunately, the module was designed to receive one part at a time. Some of the locations will be receiving dozens of parts. I have been tasked with finding a way to provide a web page (vbscript) where the user can receive the parts in a batch. In order to accomplish this I need to be able to get data from SAP and then write data back to SAP.
Is it possible to not only read, but to write data back to SAP using VBScript? I want to implement a good solution and I need to implement a solution that the SAP administrators will be ok with.
I really could use some help finding a good starting point to help me understand what I need. If I can't do what I need in VBScript then I need to find a third-party tool that will let me interface with SAP.

VBScript can read and write SAP data. Without knowing the details of exactly
what you are trying to do I'll post a little code that you may find useful:

Please note, most of the examples on the above web site use VBA and not
vbscript. So, leave out the As ... part of every Dim statement for pure vbscript.

Connect Solution Manager to Portal search

Hi Experts,
currently we have the requirement to connect our Netweaver Portal Search to SAP Solution Manager. The search should find documents saved in the Solution Manager.
After searching the SDN I found some hints but came to the opinion that there does not exist any standard approach. Is this true?
Following some more details describing my problem:
The Solution Manager is also used to save project related documents like concepts etc. These documents have to be found if the user enters a query in the NetWeaver Portal. The documents should only be saved in the Solution Manager, so it will be no solution to save the documents in KM.
The hints that I currently found:
Indexing documents - SolMan Document-Management Search
SolMan and Portal - Accessing Solution Manager 4.0 documents using KM
Using KM in Solman (the other way around) - KM in Solman
Any suggestions are welcome.

After configuring you need to configure maintanace optimizer in solution manger.while configuring you need to specify the your S user id.

Product Costing in SAP Retail Solution

Hi experts
I have a question about product costing in SAP Retail (SAP ECC 6.0).
In material master data (Tr. MM43 - Tr. MM42) Product Costing view for Logistics:CD sheet is activated.
Although, for Logistics:Store sheet is not activated.
In customizing, we have tried to activate the Product Costing view for Logistics:Store sheet, but there no standard dynpro to use it. So, we have some doubts:
- Do we have to create customer (Z) dynpros in order to activate Product Costing view for Logistics:Store sheet?
- Does SAP allows Product Costing functionality in SAP Retail solution?
If both answers are YES, i have another doubt:
- In our business scenario, the store is supplied by the Distribution Center. So, does it make sense to run product costing for
a articles in a Store?
We think it makes sense to apply product costing functionality in Distribution center. In order to analyze deviations from
Standard costs to real costs. But we are not sure about Stores.
Does anyone have experience in customizing product costing functionality for a SAP retail in a Logistics:Store?

Product hierarchy in R3 is termed as Merchandise category hierarchy in SAP IS retail
But in R3 Product hierarchy is not used much but Merchandise category hierarchy that is termed as MCH is a basic thing reqd for defining master data that is article master data which is nothing but material master in R3
As i said Product hierarchy levels are available in R3 also but not much used
Merchandise category hierarchy levels is most commonly used in SAP IS retail
What we call material group in R3 is same as Merchandise category in SAP IS retail and material in R3 is article in Retail
Merchandise category hierarchy levels
Say a Retail mall has merchandise items
Under merchandise there are 2 divisions Food and non food
Under nonfood say there are 2 divisions say hardware and apparel
Under apparel there 2 divisions say Mens wear and ladies wear
Under mens wear you have t shirts,shirts and pants etc
Here t shirts,shirts and pants etc are individual articles
Menswear and ladies wear are material groups
Hardware and apparel are merchandise hierarchy level 1
Food and non food merchandise hierarchy level 2
Retail mall is merchandise hierarchy level 3
like that hierarchy levels are commonly defined and used as a must to have efficient master data in SAP retail and the maximum no of hierarchy to have ideally is 6 apart from Merchandise category
In our example we have defined three levels
The same functionality can be used as product hierarchy in R3 also but doesnt been put in to use much
In Retail the no of articles a store is going to manage to be will be huge hence this sort of seggregation is needed there must

Add new System to SAP connection adapter - HAL

Hi. I would like to add a new System ID to Application Link's SAP connection adapter (HAL).
I mean: we have been changing SAP environment (i.e System ID) and I would like to add a new System ID in the list; however, as I create a new SAP connection, only a list of old System ID is displayed.
Even if I create and test correctly the new connection, the new System ID is still not displayed. Any advice?

PS, to SAP developers: there are multiple companies frowning upon the decision to display the grayed-out buttons in saplgpad. I would hate to roll-out 720 with a in-house launcher for saplgpad that hides the buttons using some dirty hack.

Problem with uninstalling Nokia Connectivity Solut...

winXP, SP2, 6630, pcsuite 6.8.22
I wanted to reinstall my PCSuite due to transfer freezeing while using dku2 and Nokia Connectivity Solution faild to uninstall. Cleaner cant manage with that. in Add/Remove programs while highlighting Nokia Connectivity Solution there are no options like Remove or CHange, the info only. I can install PCSuite (installation freezes for few minuts) but all the possible errors occure when i'm trying to use it. Once again cleaner, registering ole.dll seems not to change anythingat all.

MMList empty is an error that a few people seem to be getting and is already well documented on here.
My best advice would be to refer to this thread and try the solution there that seems to have worked for at least some people.

Hi,
All there is a SWITCH to turn on the SAP Learning solution in the IMG.
Goto transaction SPRO and there under the IMG node Training and Event management, and Under SAP Learinig solution there is switch to turn on the Learing solution.
By Default Training and Event Management will be turned on, both TEM and LSO cannot be ON at once, only one of them can be truned on.

You wll have to mark ALL the correct options in order to gain that one full mark for a question.
