SAP KM Navigation Interface - Custom Layoutset

Hi All,
I want to assign my Custom Layout set for the Context menu of the Portal root KM folder.
Ex:
For the portal URL, http://Host:Port/irj/go/km/docs, then it will show you the Navigation Interface link. On click of that, it will show the KM root folder and the chid folders in it.
When you see the Context Menu of any of those folders, it shows lot of options. So I created a new Layout set without any options.
Now I want to assign my custom Layout set to the KM Root folder as well as the children in it.
I don't want to pass any parameter like rndLayoutset, etc.... and also note that I am not going to use the KM iViews.
I want to assign my custom Layout set even when you access the KM without login as explained with the URL above.
Thanks & Regards||
Ashok M.

Hi Ashok,
> *I want to provide my Custom Layout set for the Root folder and it's child folders when I accessed the KM folders with the URL: http://Host:Port/irj/go/km/docs , by clicking the Navigation Interface link even without Login to the Portal. And for the Logged in Users, the Default Layout set should be applied.*
>
> Just to clear my requirement, I said that I am not using KM Iviews, or not appending any Parameters like rndLayoutSet
When you open the URL you mentioned above and click on the "Navigation Interface" link, the same component is opened that lies behind the KM navigation iView (com.sap.km.cm.navigation). If you don't specify a Layout Set via parameter "rndLayoutSet" the default layout set is used that is configured in the KM configuration.
There are a couple of different options how you can achieve what you are trying. I described them in detailed in my weblog: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/10289
Let me know if you have further questions,

  • Configuration of SAP MDG User Interface in Customer Namespace - 7.0

    Hello All.
I have been constantly reading about the mentioned content,
SAP MDG user interfaces from one single place. A dedicated WebDynpro application is provided to manage all user interface configurations.
You can also copy a standard SAP user interface configuration to the customer namespace and configure it to your requirements.
Can anyone give more details about the SAP MDG User Interface or share any links which denotes the same in detail.
    Any Help Appreciated !!.
    Regards,
    Shankar

The document mentioned in the link does not state anything related to use user interface in customer namespace as suggested by sap in Innovations page. this is more about FPM applications.
Can you please suggest how do we use MDG User Interface in the customer environment directly as suggested by SAP.

  • Exception when using a renamed com.sap.portal.navigation.toolarea.par file

    Hi,
I would like to modify the toolarea of our SAP Enterprise Portal. Basically, I just want to move the tools to the right hand side.
    <b>Problem Description</b>
According to several threads I found on sdn
    - How to modify the header
    - copy and rename par-file?
it should be fairly simple to modify the tool area.
    - download com.sap.portal.navigation.toolarea.par from portal server
    - import the downloaded par file into your NetWeaver Developer Studio
    - Change the ToolAreaiView.jsp in project folder dist/PORTAL-INF/jsp
    - Save changes
    - Deploy project to the portal server (>File>Export>Par File><Name of your project>>Next>...)
    - Remove the standard Tool Area iView from your Framework page
    - Create a new iView from your uploaded par file (chose default component)
    - Add new created iView to your Framework page
Done, you should see your customized tool area. Unfortunately I encounter a Portal Runtime Exception (Page could not create the iView). I did exactly as described above.
    - I downloaded the com.sap.portal.navigation.toolarea.par.bak file from >System Administration>Support>Portal Runtime>Browse Deployment>ROOT>WEB-INF/deployment/temp.
    - Extracted the com.sap.portal.navigation.toolarea.par after changing the downloaded files file extension to zip
    - Imported the extracted par file into Netweaver Developer Studio under a new project name
    - Found the ToolAreaiView.jsp in project folder dist/PORTAL-INF/jsp
    - Did NO changes
    - Exported the project into a par file and deployed the par file to the portal successfully.
    - Removed the old Tool Area iView from the Framework page
    - Created a new Tool Area iView from my uploaded par file (default component)
    - Added the new created iView to the Framework page.
    - I logged on again and instead of the Tool Area I see an error message
    <i>Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : pcd:portal_content/sdm_Germany/de.sdm.kellermann.folders.home/de.sdm.kellermann.folders.coreobjects/default/frameworkPages/de.sdm.kellermann.coreobjects.frameworkpage/de.sdm.kellermann.iviews.toolarea

    J2EE Engine: 6.40 PatchLevel 89291.313
    Portal: 6.0.11.3.0
Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 SP2
    NWDS: 2.0.11
Any ideas what I did wrong? I appreaciate any kind of help.
    Best regards,
    Martin

    Hi Yoav,
thank you for your swift response. You were right. I do not know why but after I imported the downloaded par file into NetWeaver Developer Studio, the new created project did not contain the jar files, which come with the par file. I added the jar files manually to the project, put them into the project's build path and instructed the NWDS to put them into the par file which I deployed to the portal server.
Afterwards I completed the routine described in my first post and everything worked out. Thanks a lot for that hint.
By the way do you know how to instruct NWDS to include the jar files automatically during an import?
    Best regards,
    Martin

  • Custom LayoutSets & ResourceRenderers

When creating my own custom LayoutSets and/or Resource Renderers, where should I place the .jar files for the system to pick them up?
    EP6 SP2
I have tried a few places and was only able to get everything to work in the following directory:
    portal/portalapps/com.sap.km.cm.ui.flex/lib
The trouble is, when we apply a patch the custom JAR files are blown away.

    Pran,
I have followed the documentation, however I am getting the following message in my knowledgemanagement.log file...
com.sapportals.wcm.rendering.layout.LayoutControllerFactory ....... No mapping available for requested LayoutController with alias <ewpMenuGridTreeListLayoutController>
I have also noticed the following:
could not create command with alias ewpMenuGridTreeListLayoutController and classname XYZ: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sapportals/wcm/rendering/control/cm/NeutralControl
    Is it related perhaps?
    Any ideas?

    Hi experts,
We had an issue with portal access. I wonder if portal is venerable for security threats?
Could you please let me how to restrict the unauthorized users (anonymous user) to the portal URL.
    https://HOST:50001//irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.default .
    Appreciate your help.

    Hi Maruti,
    Hope you are doing good.
Can't you just amend the portal permissions so that this access is not possible.
    The PCD location should be:
    com.sap.portal.system/security/sap.com/NetWeaver.Portal/no_safety/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher....
    Hope this helps.

  • FM to check if SAP or e.g. customer system?

    Hello ABAP experts,
is there a function module to check if the current system is an SAP or e.g. a customer system?
Can FM INT_VCM_GET_SYSTEM_DATA be used for this?

    Hi Edgar,
no, I just would like to have an indicator/flag to find out if the current system is e.g. an internal SAP system or a customer system (where e.g. special care has to be taken when running eCATTs for example).

  • SAP IDOC's, interfaces and BAPI's

Hi i am new to SD, can anyone give me documentation or reading material for SAP IDOC's, interfaces and BAPI's .
    Help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanking you

    Hi Reddy,
Very general question, I don't think you will find the answer in one document.
BAPIs are normal function modules, with predefined input and output structures to perform standard business transactions.
IDOCs are standardised interface documents to transfer data.
Once the IDOC is read, it almost always calls a BAPI to perform the business transaction.
Therefore start with reading about BAPIs since you will definately have to master those when starting to work on interfaces.
There are hundreds of BAPIs so best is to start with a specific process, example sales order create or material master create.
Try transaction BAPI, this lists most of the BAPIs and contains excellent documentation.
    Thanks for your points,
    Filip

  • Setting required to create Business partner record in SAP GTS for the customer who transferred from the SAP ECC system

    Dear Experts,
Can you please suggest me list of activities require to automatically  create Business partner record in SAP GTS for the customer who transferred from the SAP ECC system .
i.e If I create the customer master record and transfer the same CMR to SAP GTS , what are the setting requires to maintain in SAP GTS sytem to automatically create the Business partner .
    Ram

    Hi Raghu,
Below are the main settings required to enable you to transfer Customer Master Data to SAP GTS. Please note that their is a difference between, Customer Master Record and Customer Master Data in terms of data and for GTS, we transfer Customer Master Data. Hence, below are the settings required:-
    In SAP ECC system:-
Activate the change pointers for Customer Master Data apart from enabling basic connection settings.
Schedule a job to run at regular intervals to transfer all the customer master data for the available change pointers to the SAP GTS system
      2.  In SAP GTS system:-
Maintain the Mapping for ECC Customers to SAP GTS Business Partners in the General settings area of the SPRO in SAP GTS system
Ensure that the Number range is maintained for those GTS  Business Partners.
Also, some time you may be required to maintain the organisational structure to ensure full working.
I hope this will be helpful to you.
    Regards,
    Aman

  • Com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par.bak

I have been given the task of creating a new masthead of the portal but do not have access to the files, could someone please send me: com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par.bak
I have tried to get this through Portal Runtime -> Browse Deployment but I always get an error when I try to upload the PAR file into NWDS.
Thank you in advance, if anyone sends it to me please post here also so others know (And so i can reward points)
    Michael
    [email protected]

    Hi Michael,
it's quite dangerous just to use "some" navigation.masthead, maybe different from you SPS/Patch version.
    The question is:
    > I always get an error
    > when I try to upload the PAR file into NWDS
Why that? Have you been aware that the downloaded file is a ZIP which <i>contains</i> the PAR in question?! (So you first have to unpack the PAR, which you want to import afterwards).
If yes, did you choose File -> Import -> PAR-File?!
If yes, what kind of error came up?
    Hope it helps

    Hi Detlev,
Thanks so much for your reply. Regarding "Create Portal Archive (EAR File)" everything is understood, thanks! In NWDS 7.3 everything must be deployed via .ear file
Regarding the libs... yes, of course I know I compile the sources against some libs Then, I'm gonna type it an example:
    - NWDS 7.0 > import com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par
Everything is ok and working. Now, the same in 7.3:
    - NWDS 7.30 > import com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par > LogInRedirect.jsp > exactly the same code as NWDS 7.0 (of course), but with errors in lines:
    <%@ page import = "com.sapportals.portal.navigation.*" %> >>> The import com.sapportals.portal.navigation cannot be resolved
    <%@ page import = "com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntime" %> >>> this is resolved correctly into SAP_EP\resources\prtapi.jar
I understand I must to add the corresponding libs for "com.sapportals.portal.navigation.*" to be used... but how I could know which one and where is located? I hope I'm explaining myself clear...
    Thx!!

  • Disable Items in User Interface - Custom

I have been looking through the Control Identifier/Policy ID number from the spreadsheets below.
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=6627
I have been unable to find the following item in order to remove it using group policy.  Can someone tell me definitively if it does not exist and if it does what is the correct ID in order to disable it through User Configuration->Administrative

Under Tasks, New Task, Assign Task there is a check box next to "Send me a status report when this task is complete" that I want to remove.

    Hi Ethan,
    >>Under Tasks, New Task, Assign Task there is a check box next to "Send me a status report when this task is complete" that I want to remove.
Sorry, based on my knowledge and test, there is no corresponding policy ID to disable this checkbox.
In addition, I searched around and found that this setting should correspond to the following registry key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\options\Tasks
    AddToUpdList
Regarding this point, the following article can be referred to for more information.
