SapConsole question.

Hi everybody, looking the sapconsole develops, in the system, I noticed that are developed in a function group instead a modul pool or an excutable program. Are there a razon for that?
Regards

I would like to ask if this is your question so that others can answer
Why we need function groups and function modules if we have module or executable programs?
Is this your question?
If it is then function modules are for avoiding recursive coding.
we can use same functional module in any number of programs without coding again and again. All related function modules are stored in one function group.

  • SAPConsole and RF

    Hi everybody,
We try to print labels via an Intermec 700 Hand Held device to an Intermec 6808 belt printer. The belt printer is connected to the HH-device via RS232.
We send data to the HH-screen starting with an RS232-transmit-only-command, followed by special 6808-format-commands and variable data such as materialnr, barcode, etc.
Labels are printed, however all variable data are ignored!
If we hardcode the variables ('12345')it works.
    Does any-one recognize this problem?

I'm afraid that this isn't the right forum for SAPConsole questions.

  • WebSAPConosole and SAPConsole Transactions

I have a question regarding the SAPConsole transactions.  I need to develop Good Movement (Non-WM) transactions for SAPConsole using MB_GOODS_MOVEMENT_CREATE.  Does anyone know SAP Best Practice for doing this?  Is it to copy the R/3 transactions (MB1B, MB1C, MB01, etc.) and modify them for the SAP Console screens or would it be to build the user interface from scratch and call the function based the user input into the newly developed screens.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Sorry, I could not find a better forum for this topic.
    Scott

    Hi Scott!
Unfortunately you cannot copy MB*(Goods movement txns) or any std R/3 txns and convert it directly to SAP Console Txns OR Web SAP Console Txns.First of all when you convert to SAP Console Txns, SAP Console is Character Based  so the copy doesnot workout. For Webconsole the controls are limitied so you cannot convert the SAP GUI Screen to a Console Txn Screen. Also the screen sizes are different and you cannot fit in all the screen elements you see in the SAP GUI.
The best way is first make sure what fields you have to populate when you post the Goods Movement.Make sure for the console txns, you make the UI design accordingly(For SAP Console / Web Console transactions the screen size is 16x20 OR 8x40).Collect the data reqd for the Function Module OR BAPI via the SAP Console Transaction Screens you design and then you call the BAPI or FM to post the data.
I am not sure in which SAP version you are.I would recommend you to use BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE instead of MB_GOODS_MOVEMENT_CREATE.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.Hope this answers for now.
    Thx

  • RF Transactions LM##....Few Questions

    Hi Folks,
One of our client wants RF integration with SAP, mainly for warehouse related activities .
We have suggested him ITS approach .
Few questions I am having :
    1. Are LM## - RF transactions enough to cater the full warehouse process ? Is any LM transaction exists for bin to bin movement ?
    2. If LM transactions are not able to solve our full purpose . what should be the ideal approach for extending the solution?
    3. Do we need to create the html template and services for all RF transactions - LM## ? or just by creating the service and template of LM00 will work ? As i can see just by creating ITS service of LM00 we areable to access the all transactions
    4. Lay out is coming in different fashion in different devices ? How to solve this issue ?
    5. What are the areas needs to be looked on at development time for ITS approach .
    Regards,

    Hi,
    Regarding your questions:
    1) the existing LM transaction cover the WM processes in basic. In practice, new transaction and new screens are developed. There is no standard LM transaction for bin-bin movement, so you need to develop this yourselfs.
    2) get an ABAP'er and develop the transactions and screens yourself (happens all the time);
    3) I've only used SAPconsole, in that case you install SAPconsole and a Telnet server. Then your'e done and you can start up LM00 (I've only used character based hardware)
    4) & 5), no answer.

  • SapConsole on VMWARE and other

    Hi,
    three questions about Sapconsole:
    1) Someone knows is SapConsole is supported on VMWARE and someone is using it on this platform ?
    2) Someone is using the J2EE as WebServer ? Could you tell me why did you choose J2EE instead of IIS ?
    3) Who is using SapConsole in High-Availability configuration ?
Are you using the connection via telnet or Web based ?
How did you configure it , as there is no indication at all on the Sap documenation for this scenario ?
    regards and thansk in advance

We had done this for one of our landscapes.  It seemed to be working very well for a couple of years until we implemented a larger unit with multiple warehouses and a much larger number of users.  However, the total number of RF barcode scanners was still lower than 100 which probably represents a small implementation for most sites.  We started receiving some very significant processing issues.  Most of these were traced back to a poorly configured wireless network setup, but not all.
Through some extensive testing we were able to make SAP Console hang even with a single user logged on directly via a Windows telnet session.  Here's a snippet from the OSS Message response.
    <i>
SAPConsole i.e sapcnsl.exe is not designed to run in a multi-processor
    enviornment.
The code of sapcnsl.exe does not take care conditions into account
when running in a multi-processor system.
    The problem will persist.
If you run sapcnsl.exe in an uni-processor system the problem will not
    happen.
Also, in a multi-processor system the occurence of the hang will be
very vague, there is no clear cut time when the problem happens.
Run sapcnsl.exe in an uni-processor system the problem will not
    happen.</i>
Our response was to install this on multiple, load-balanced physical systems with a single CPU.  It's been running fine ever since.  We could probably move back to the VMWare solution since the wireless network situation has been addressed, but based on the significant end-user distrust [almost a revolt] it did not seem prudent.

  • SAPConsole:  Distributed vs Central

    Hello everyone,
I have been questioned by the Basis team and also by management as to which is better for the project:
    A)   to have a single  "Central"  SAPConsole  ( located in Geneva, Switzerland at the Corporate Data Center )
    or
    B)  have a SAPConsole installation at each affiliate ( one SAPConsole per warehouse, with warehouses located in Mexico, Columbia, Florida, New Jersey, Geneva, Argentina, Brazil, and China, etc., etc., etc., ... )
What are the Pros and Cons of the two approaches???   What do you recommend?
    Thanks, Vincent

    Hello Jo,
    Thanks for looking at this.
Well, we have a global company with manufacturing sites in many countries.  At each manufacturing facitlity we will implement a SAPConsole WM RF solution.  It is my question which makes more sense, a single SAPConsole for the whole global project or a SAPConsole locally at each affilate?
I don't think it is a complex question and there are obvious advantages to both approaches.  There can be Pros and Cons assigned to either approach by someone who has no first hand experience in such an implementation, this I know.  For example, my manager who is new to SAP has offered his opionions and advice; of which many are very good.  So this is not really what I was looking for.  In fact, I was hoping to have some one weigh in who has good experience, in a <u>global SAP RF WM</u> implementation and maybe learned the hard way as to which approach offers what benefits.  Nevertheless, all commentary is welcome.
    Thanks in advance,
    Vince

  • SAPconsole Architecture

We're evaluating use of SAPconsole in our warehouses. Everywhere I've seen a diagram of the standard architecture, SAPconsole is installed on the same server that the telnet server is installed on which is located at the plant level.
Our question is, is there any flexibility whatsoever with separating the telnet server and the SAPconsole box, or is it a requirement that they be on the same server?? Could we install SAPconsole on the actual core SAP box and have it communicate with the telnet server located at the plant??
I'm curious to know how companies using SAPconsole now have it architected and what the reasons were.
    Thx in advance.

    Hi Gurus,
I have various plant distributed on the land. We want to install one telnet server and SAPConsole for each location.
All the servers refer to one SAP system.
    Is it a plausible architecture.

  • SapWebConsole several questions

    Hi all,
I am currently testing the RF screens using SapWebConsole, and it's very difficult to find good documentation for this topic. Here are my main questions at this point:
1.The connection from the devices can be made in two ways:
    http://my-server:50000/webconsole/run
    http://my-server/sap/isapi_sapcnsl.dll
Both ways works fine, but the response time is much better using the first way, probably because this way accesses the WAS directly without IIS. Are there any advantages of making the connection through IIS?
    2. No LMxx screens seems to react to Enter, i.e I can never confirm a screen by simply scanning a barcode (having set the scanner to add Enter to the end of the scan). There are some tables in customisation for this, does this only apply to text-based SapConsole or will it also work for SapWebConsole? If yes, could anyone provide either some links to documentation, or some examples on how to set up confirmation? The main problem is how to understand the concept of screen numbers (logical and actual).
    3. I have problems getting TO's automatically assigned to a queue. I have done a setup in "Assign areas and act. to queues", where I have entered *** for both storage types and areas, to assign all TO's to my test queue, but it simply will not work. Also, if I create the TO directly on the device, from the GR by delivery screen (LM71) it will still not be assigned to any queue. Again, there seems to be no good documentation for this setup.
    Any help greatly appreciated!

I'm gonna partly answer myself about the Enter functionality. The device I am running on uses Windows Mobile 2003 and I was testing with the pre-installed Internet Explorer. When I installed Opera Mobile, the Enter functionality works. But it's still not good. One example is that the cursor is not by default placed in the selection field on the menu screens. This means I have to touch the screen or use the cursor keys to place the cursor there, before I enter a number and enter to make a menu selection.
With Internet Explorer, it is necessary to move the highlighting to the OK button and then press Enter. This means a very large amount of key presses are needed to navigate and work with this system. There must be something I'm missing, as I could never see this work in a productive environment...
And of course no function buttons works in web mode...

  • SAPCONSOLE LM05

    Hi,
in SAPCONSOLE transaction LM05, in field RLMOB-CLENUM (Barcode field for storage unit number) i´m supposed to receive a barcode containing (material + batch + amount + storage unit number).
How can i modify this dynpro so that i could get the correct value (storage unit number) ignoring all the rest?
    Best regards.

    Hi Calsadillo!
    (1) First make sure the defined length of your screen field, i believe it is 100.Basically the Screen Field Defined Length should not be lesser than the Concatenated Barcode Scan String Laength((material + batch + amount + storage unit number).
    (2) Write you own Custom FunctionModule Importing the Concatenated Barcode Scan String Laength((material + batch + amount + storage unit number) and split it and exporting SU Number.
    (3) Refer to the RF Console User Exit Documents to call this custom Function Module in the Corresponding PAI(Screen of LM05).
    (4) Alternatively, if you donot want to use RF User Exit(as it is bit complex when compared to normal user exits), you can copy LM05 to ZLM05 and call this FM and reassign it in OLML instead of LM05 for the corresponding RF Activity Menu.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
    Thank You

  • SAPConsole sapwebconsole

    Hi,
Currently we are using SAPConsole (which is part of SAPGUI) to translate our screens to mobile screens.
We have some problems with SAPConsole. So we are looking for something better. As I searched sdn Websapconsole may be a solution. But there are conflictions. So I want to ask some questions.
    1. Does WebSAPConsole do the work of Sapconsole?
    2. Is WebSApConsole necessarily part of SAP XI?
    I wish you can help
    Best Regards

    Hi sez,
    i haven't worked with SAPConsole.
I could realize that , WebSAPConsole and WebCosole are different things.
    <u>WebSAPConsole</u>
is the next generation interface from SAP, allowing direct connect to SAP R/3 from Browser based RF terminals.
Instead of using a Telnet Server & Clients, RF users connect to SAP R/3 via a HTTP session created by WebSAPConsole.
just go through this link .. this tells the difference bw SAPConsole and WebSAPConsole...
    Differences Between SapConsole and WebSapConsole
    But <u>WeBConsole</u> , as i mentioned earlier ,
is associated with  NetWeaver Mobile Infrastructure.
    Just go throgh this also.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/2147e190-0201-0010-87be-c32158b78336
      Here comes the  difference ..
SAP MI - > its an offline solution by SAP.
WebConsole  is the interface used to administrate the mobile devices (Associated with MI).

  • Do sapconsole sessions fail over ?

    Hello all,
We have users in our warehouse plant using RF Devices and connecting via two sapconsole servers to our R/3 Enterprise system.
There are times when the router on our remote location will failover to an alternate router.  We have noticed that the RF devices tend to hang and take a while to clear.
The question is when the network connection is failed over to a new router, will active sessions be impacted ?
Does the same hold for normal sapgui sessions ?  It appears our normal SAPGUI users are "less" impacted by this switchover.
    Thanks,
    Ramesh

Specific to the AP failover. Why dont you deploy AP FALLBACK? When a controller falls offline for
any reason the APs join other controllers. HOWEVER when the controller comes online they will fallback to the controllers
you want with NO intervention from you.
    fyi
NoteWhen an access point’s primary controller comes back online, the access point disassociates from the backup controller and reconnects to its primary controller. The access point falls back to its primary controller and not to any secondary controller for which it is configured. For example, if an access point is configured with primary, secondary, and tertiary controllers, it fails over to the tertiary controller when the primary and secondary controllers become unresponsive and waits for the primary controller to come back online so that it can fall back to the primary controller. The access point does not fall back from the tertiary controller to the secondary controller if the secondary controller comes back online; it stays connected to the tertiary controller until the primary controller comes back up.

  • SAPCONSOLE create own error screen

    Hi,
    i´ve just read Rich Heilman´s weblog "
Implementing Bell Signal Functionality in Sapconsole Transactions".
in my report i use SAP standard error screen '0999' by means of FM 'CALL_MESSAGE_SCREEN'.
i want to implement bell signal functionality in my error screen. Can i do it with SAP standard screen or do i have to create my own error screen?.
What do i have to consider when creating an own error screen?.
    Best regards.

    Hi,
after considering the question hat i finally intend to do is to create a new screen 9999 as a copy of screen 2999.
in order to do the copy i´ve been reading the documentation of SAP HELP and in SE51 i'd need to do thus:
    From
      Program        SAPLLMOB
      Nº dynpro       2999
    to
      Program        SAPLXLRF
      Nº dynpro       9999
and i would save it in a $tmp transport request.
    is this correct?
    Best regards.

  • RF Txn. Old Matnr question(Urgent)

    Hi Guys.
I have a question for you all.many standard RF txns use material number.if i am going to use an old material number is there a way to convert this into the new one using some user exit and then proceed.i am not sure if the guys will scan the old or new one.so i need to take care of both for a smooth txn processing.please help
    thanks

    Sanket:
I believe you are using SAP Standard RF Txns LM**.
If you want to do this with a RF User Exit, then there is a lot of work around.
When you are ready to do the user exit, there is no Conversion Routine Function Module that exists to do this. But you can use the FM "GET_MATERIAL_ID" by supplying the Old Matnr OR Read from MARA.
    Pl refer to
    Using exits with SAPConsole
For details pl refer to the SAP Documentation under LES>>>Warehouse Management>>>Mobile Data Entry>>>User Exits.

  • Help in SAPconsole for asset management

    Hello,
I am currently doing project in IT asset tracking, in which coding is done in ABAP dialog programming.
my problem is, i have created main screen with radio buttons, it is working fine in se80.. but when i run the application in SAPConsole using sapconsole command ''sapcnsl.exe'', it does display main screen but doesnt allow me to select other radio button.. coding done abap dialog programming is fine, it allows me to navigate to second radio button..
    It's urgent please help...
    Regards.
    Vikram Salvi

    First of all:
It's strange that storage type 998 is used in your system for GR in transfer posting process - it is used for initial stock upload in standard system. Interim storage type 921 is used for SLoc-SLoc transfer posting.
Is there any way i can restrict GI process so that user can't issue material which hasn't placed into storage bin (still in AUFNAHME)???
In standard system not. Maybe through development you could do a check whether there're open TR for the material in connection with the interim storage type or you could check the quants for the interimn storage type...
But I think and strongly recommend you should not do this.
The process in SAP (process in ERP) and the physical process (moving the goods physically) should go paralelly. So, my opinion is that you should find out why the goods are not placed in storage bin in SAP whilst they are already in the bin physically. Maybe workers need training / workers have to keep to the rules / you have to revise the process/ use RF devices / etc.
Question is...how can i clear Storage Type 911 (GI area for Cost Center) after GI process
    You can solve it (e.g.):
    1. Manually, in the sort run: you move the suitable quant from the interim storage type used for SLoc-SLoc stock transfer (921) to interim storage type 911 by LT01 / LT10 (because you should have a +quant in 921 and a -quant in 911).
    2. In the long run: e.g. you can set TR creation for your movement type and processing those TRs (from LB10) you will get the TO and realize the goods movement.
SPRO > LE > WM > Interfaces > IM > Define Movement Types > LE-WM Interface to Inventory Management
    3. Immediate TO creation for these postings. Please sea OSS note 136796 if you are interested in this solution.

  • Questions on Print Quote report

    Hi,
I'm fairly new to Oracle Quoting and trying to get familiar with it. I have a few questions and would appreciate if anyone answers them
    1) We have a requirement to customize the Print Quote report. I searched these forums and found that this report can be defined either as a XML Publisher report or an Oracle Reports report depending on a profile option. Can you please let me know what the name of the profile option is?
    2) When I select the 'Print Quote' option from the Actions drop down in the quoting page and click Submit I get the report printed and see the following URL in my browser.

Does it mean that the profile in our case is set to call the rdf since it has reference to ASOPQTEL.rdf in the above url?
    3) When you click on submit button do we have something like this in the jsp code: On click call ASOPQTEL.rdf. Is the report called using a concurrent program? I want to know how the report is getting invoked?
    4) If we want to customize the jsp pages can you please let me know the steps involved in making the customizations and testing them.
