Sapum.properties for 'database' datasource

We are trying to use UME APIs from UMFactory class. We are able to connect using sapum.properties file but it requires to maintain ume.db.jdbc. parameters. These parameters are defined explicitly in clear text which creates security problem.
The question is whether there is any place in Portal where DB connection parameters can be maintained and can be used by UME APIs?
Version is EP6SP13.
Thanks,

Hi Dagfinn,
Trying to call UME APIs from Standalone Application where UMFactory Has to be initialized but i get this error.
An error occurred while initializing UME for standalone scenario.

I am trying to get configuration path as follows
String umeCfgPath = System.getProperty("ume.cfg.path");
I am using Netweaver 7.0 & found all help about confuguring UME Configuration Data but coudnt find existence of sapum.properties & ume.cfg.path .
I think for a standalone application path has to be loaded in Class Loader using sapum.properties & ume.cfg.path , can you help me in finding the location in Config tool or Visual Admin or File system of WAS & how to use them for my Application ?
Thanks in Advance !!!!

  • What are the XFA properties for a drop-down list?

I am having trouble distinguishing between the "Text" and "Value" for a drop down list.
I have a data drop-down list that is being populated by a database at runtime. I am using the "addItem" event while looping though the recordset. The "addItem" event takes 2 parameters:
param1: A valid string representing the value to display in the field.
param2: (Optional) A valid string representing the new items bound value. If empty, the default value is an empty string.
What is the corresponding XFA properties for param1 and param2?
If I want to reference "param2" somewhere else in the form, is it dropDownList.rawValue? is it dropDownList.value?

  • Set password for database connection at runtime

    Hi there,
is it possible to set the password and/or the user for the database connection at runtime.
The use case is to read the values from a file and decrypt them, and the to establish the conenction. So that i don't habe to redeploy everything if there is a change.
    Thanks in advance.

How exactly do i set these values for the datasource?
Edited by: Alex on 15.02.2012 09:50
    €: JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0
The use case is, that there is a file with an encrypted password. This should be decrypted and then be used for the connection. So when this encrypted passowrd changes, i don't want to edit and deploay the app once again. Instead the new encrypted password should be decrypted via code an then be used.

  • Report sometimes prompts for database logon prior to execution

I have installed the Crystal Reports Integration Addon on our system and it works correclty for users on our terminal services server.  But when I installed it on a user's PC running Windows XP, when I go to execute an existing report, the Runtime viewer launches, and then displays a Database logon panel with the Server field filled in, the database field is blank, and the SA user and password fields are populated, and I get an error that says logon failed.  I type in the SA user id and password, but get the same error.
If the same user logs onto the TS server, the runtime viewer launches correctly and the report prompts for input, then displays the appropriate data (no database logon is requested). But if it runs at that user's workstation, the viewer launches, and then prompts for database logon.
We are running SAP 2007A SP00 PL47, CR Basic 2008 for SAP Business One, and the runtime viewer is Crystal Reports 2008 Runtime SP1. version 2.0.0.7

    Hi Bruce,
I am not sure what the problem is.
The only workaround I can think of is to change the Integrated Security in the report to true. This means that you will be using Windows Authentication as opposed SQL Authentication. This will not prompt for SQL username and password.
Usually this is NOT an ideal process as you will have to Add each and every Windows user in the SQL Database you are trying to access. For example, you have to add DOMAIN_NAME\User_Name under the Database Properties.
I am not sure what the minimum security you need to run the report. You will try a few different options and see what works best for you. Avoid permissions that would give users ability to write to the SQL database.
Again, I know this is not ideal. But I am not sure what else can be done here.

  • Website asking for database login

</p Hi, I need your help and please help me.
I have a report that have been working all this time until IT dept told me to change the database to something else.  I changed the datasource and it is running just fine on my computer.  When I loaded my report to the same location on the website so that the users can runs it, it is populates a box asking for database login.  The funny thing is, I recreated a brandnew report pointing to the same database and it loaded up there just fine without asking for the database login.
I don't want to recreate this report and I have to do the same with 20 more reports like this because I customized so much.  Please tell me what should I do?
I am using Crystal Report 2008 version 12.1.0.892 on Window XP 32 bits
Thanks so much for your help!
    Anh Nguyen

    Hi,
If a new report works fine on the website then try opening your report in Crystal and go to Database | Set Datasource Location.
Point to the new database and make sure all the tables are updated.  Save it and upload the report to your website.  There may be a table or a subreport that is still trying to connect to the old database.
    Good luck,
    Brian

  • JhsError Messages for Database constraint

    Hello JhaedStart Team
I want to display mycustome entity alias name in place of entity name in Jhs Error messages for Database constraint , as you know we can customize this error message by replacing ConstraintName as a key in our registered customMessage Bundle (according to 25.8.3 sction of ADFdevelopers guide) .
In order to do that I should disable JHS NLS generation for JHS because it's custome messages prevent my message to be display from my customMessage Bundle , So I have tried to delete constraint key (eg CASCADING_DELETE_VIOLATION) from GeneratorText.properties but I see that the CASCADING_DELETE_VIOLATION message still generated in my project JHS message bundle.
Please help me to fix the problem

JHeadstart also supports customizing database constraint messages, as explained in section 11.4 of the JHeadstart 10.1.3.2 Developer's Guide. So you don't need to use the technique of section 25.8.3 of the ADF Developer's Guide, you can customize the message directly in the JHeadstart resource bundle.
    Hope this helps,

  • Connection Properties for the BI JDBC Connector

    Hi
I am trying to configure BW 3.5 java component. In the Connection Properties for the BI JDBC Connector, there are four required properties. (UserName, Password, URL and DRIVERNAME) What should I enter for the URL and DRIVERNAME? I am using Oracle920.
    Please help,
    JW

    I found this info at
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/htdocs/jdbc_faq.htm
Oracle is replacing the SID mechanism for identifying databases with a new services approach. This has been available in the database since 8.1.7. JDBC now supports services in the connect URL.
The basic format of a service URL is:
    jdbc:oracle:thin:[<user>/<password>]@//<host>[:<port>]/<service>
    jdbc:oracle:oci:[<user>/<password>]@//<host>[:<port>]/<service>
    Examples:
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@//myserver.com/customer_db
    jdbc:oracle:oci:scott/tiger@//myserver.com:5521/customer_db

I have uploaded detail.txt at below url.
    http://m.uploadedit.com/b041/1413264342685.txt
    Hi Mahesh,
According to log file, I find the message ‘The setup100.exe.config file was not found, therefore the DTSWizard and SQLWatson app config files were not replaced’. It seems that the SQL Server setup file is not complete. Please check that if the SQL Server
setup file is corrupted, if it is corrupted, please download it again and reinstall SQL Server 2008 R2.
However, if there’s no problem with the setup file, please check that if there is third-party software such as anti-virus software on your computer blocking the process of SQL Server installation. In addition, make sure that you choose ‘Run as administrator’
to launch the setup and configure SQL Server service accounts appropriately with administrator permission during the installation.
For more details about this error, please review the following similar thread.

  • Sql 2008 r2 property size is not available for database

What is the error means? What is my database state at that time?

    Hi Ajay
Firstly, I have seen this before. Even though you have permissions to the database, when there is heavy load (Index rebuilds), I cannot access the database. Usually in this case, I just query the system tables for whatever I need.
Secondly, your transaction log should not be filling up.
What recovery model are you using?
Do you have regular log backups? How often do they run?
You need to plan properly for your transaction log growth.
The data file fills up because the immediate sort of the index rebuild is being done in the database itself. You can change this to run in TempDB, provided your TempDB has been configured properly.

  • Prompt for database logon information

I am using CRS XI R2 SP4 on Windows
I installed a report on the server and completed the datasource information and set the checkbox for using the same database info when report is run.
However when the run is run the user is prompted for database user/password the other fields such as database host and database name are read-only.
The only difference between this report and other reports that do not exhibit this behavior is that this report has a sub-report that uses a Command object
Please suggest ways to suppress the database login prompt.
    Regards

  • Can't Save Sapum.properties

When trying to save our LDAP configuration settings in the portal I get the following message:
Hi, we are running EP6 SP2
    Can't Save sapum.properties .
I setup the LDAP and test connection and I get connection successfull but when I click on the save button I get the following message:
    "Can't Save sapum.properties ."
I tried re-activating SAP* (renaming the sapum.properties.bak file)and make the changes and I get the same message "can't save sapum.properties".
I appreicate any help and information on resolving this problem.
    Thanks,
    Jay

    Hi,
I have check the permissions  and I have full rights to the file. I can pull up the sapum.properties file and manually make changes to the file and save it, however, when I restart the engine I still get the same error when trying to make changes to the LDAP configuration options. The manual changes i saved for the LDAP settings were not there.  I made sure that I was manually updating the correct sapum.properties file as well.
My OS is Windows 2000 server.
    I appreciate all your help.

  • Integrated Security for Database

How I can use integrated security database information for crystal server?
I designed few reports using SQL Server and integrated security, I'm able to view and execute reports in Crystal Designer but I couldn't found any way to setup database information using integrated security in Crystal Server XI.
    Can someone help?
    Regards,
    parv

You will need to save the report to the server after selecting the trusted connection.
then on the server insure that an ODBC trusted connection exists as well (should be able to test from CR on the server if it's installed)
finally in the CMC report properties > process > database you must select "Use same database logon as when report is run" and enter the AD username and password to be used for the report.
If you would like a more dynamic solution where the actual user credentials are sent to the DB look up SSO to the DB in our admin guides and white papers on the business objects XIR2 articles section. This can also be achieved by setting up kerberos delegation.

  • The transaction log for database 'EMP_SP_SearchApp_CrawlStoreDB_32fdb1522c5249088db8b09c1917dbec' is full due to 'ACTIVE_TRANSACTION'

    Hi
we have a sharepoint farm for uploading documents in huge number daily and we conifgured RBS for sql server content db.
we are facing issue in sql server instance:
Suddenly the SQL server instance restarts and sometimes failover to node1 and sometimes just restart and keep running on the current server
and did some invistagations we found that
-Analysis of data shows that the slowness of IO for tempdb.ldf is cause of the issue
-tried to check tempdb using db properties but I couldn’t see the properties it gives me error,
-There might be a big transaction locking the tempdb.
Also noted  that there are lot of errors:
The transaction log for database 'MOJSP_SearchApp_CrawlStoreDB_32fdb1522c5249088db8b09c1917dbec' is full due to 'ACTIVE_TRANSACTION'
This might also be part of the problem causing locking.
    we found the errors like
The transaction log for database 'EMP_SP_SearchApp_CrawlStoreDB_32fdb1522c5249088db8b09c1917dbec' is full due to 'ACTIVE_TRANSACTION'
I see that log_reuse_wait_desc (reuse of transaction log space is currently waiting on as of the last checkpoint) is 'ACTIVE_TRANSACTION'
    adil

    Hi Adil,
    Method1:
On your SharePoint SQL Server database, open the SQL Server Management Studio.
Connect to the local SQL Server.
    Right click Your Database Name.
Go to -> Properties -> Options.
Change Recover Model from Full to Simple -> Click OK.
Right click Your Database Name, go to Tasks -> Shrink -> Shrink Files.
Select a File type of Log, then Shrink.
    Method2:
Run SQL Management Studio and login to your SharePoint instance.
    Click on "New Query".
    Type in the following commands:
    USE [database name];
    BACKUP LOG [Your Database Name] WITH TRUNCATE_ONLY;
    DBCC
    SHRINKFILE ([Your Log File Name], 1);
Replace [Your Database Name] and [Your Log File Name] with your log file.
This will truncate your log file to 1mb.
    Method3:
    Issue CHECKPOINT on the tempdb
    USE tempdb
    GO
    CHECKPOINT
    GO
Take Transactional log backup on the user database
BACKUP LOG CustomerXS TO DISK = N'M:\MSSQL\Backup\MSSQLSERVER\XS and RT\XS_Movement.trn'     WITH COMPRESSION     GO
