Satellite A60 - avi2dvag error

i have Satellite A60 series laptop. It is giving me an error with this file and my works gets lost all of a sudden. Some physical dump of memory starts. any suggestions what should i do?

Hello,
If neither of those solutions help, then I advise taking the computer to your nearest ASP. ATI2 is the driver for the video controller. But the problem can just as well be that the graphics processor is dying and needs to be changed out. Which your ASP will be happy to do.

  • Satellite A60 Power Saver error

Hi all,I have a Satellite A60 and I am getting the following error at start up;"Power Saver A fatal error has occured this program will be terminated code ox2". At various times whilst logged on my notebook turns off and to continue I have to log in again as from start up.Can anyone please help with a solution.Thank you,Mark.

    Hi Mark
The only thing that you can try is to remove power saver and try to install it again. It is also possible that this will not help because there are some entries in the registry. If there is no problem for you the best way is to reinstall the unit with recovery CD. After that it will work again properly.
In my opinion it is not easy to repair some specific tools like power saver.

  • Satellite A60-174: system32\drivers\isapnp.sys error

    Hello
after many nights and using the recovery CD nd trying everything my Satellite A60 do not want to work. Even after I cleaned and formt everything new.
    I got this error: system32\drivers\isapnp.sys
I installed the HDD in another laptop and works fine. If I bring the HDD back to to the Satellite A60 I still get this error.
OR the Toshi stays at Debugger DLL when I try to install another version of win XP Pro.
I think the RAM or something in the motherboard is broken. Can I change the Motherboard RAM?
Would it help if I add some ram in the extra RAM slot?
(I use only the stock ram as it is on the motherboard.
anyother idea what this system32\drivers\isapnp.sys can be.
It says to start the laptop with the original Win XP cd and try with an R.
Well this dos NOT work in this laptop.
I can not come to the WinXP screen. The laptop will break the instalation before that!
    Konstantin

    Hi
It seems youre right. Have investigated a little bit and it seems that this notebook was delivered with a 256MB internal memory.
I dont think that you will be able to remove the memory or to solve this issue yourself.
I really recommend contacting the Toshiba service partner. The guys have more experience with such reparation procedures.
If you will open the notebook and will try to remove something so I think its possible that you will damage something more on the motherboard.

  • Satellite A60-106: Unable to open Microsoft Office 2003

I have Satellite A60-106 laptop with windows XP home edition pre-installed. After recent failure of windows i have used product recovery DVD of toshiba. Following that I was successful in downloading other software like microsoft works, one note, Norton antivirus from CD. But Microsoft student and teacher edition 2003 CD is not opening in my CD/DVD drive.
It makes normal CD accessing noice after inserting, but not accessible. Pressing 'run' shows error message as D:\ not accessible, I/O device error.
The same CD (microsoft 2003) opens with other computers.
So where is the fault and how to rectify?
I have tried all sorts of advice through web.
Can some one please help me?

    Hi
For me it looks like a hardware fault. The error says that the drive is not able to read from the Microsoft CD.
There must be something wrong with the drive lens and therefore the lens cannot read the CD and the drive is not accessible!
Possibly after lens cleaning you could use this CD.

  • My Satellite A60 getting "crazy"

    Hello everyone
After I installed Windows XP pro on the same partition the default Windows was intalled in, My Satellite A60 started to shut down suddenly after a certain time, the screen also switches to its minimum luminance so I can't see anything unless I mouve the cursor, the Mat****a DVD-RAM drive only recognizes CDs, the computer stands by automaticly and when I try to return to Windows all I get is a black screen, and so on...
So I thoug it may be the Toshiba's power saver settings on the first windows installation that's influencing the other one's power managment settings, so I uninstalled Toshiba Power saver, nothing changed :(
Then, I tried to install it on the new windows (pro sp2)but I got an error that prevents the program to run
    Anyone knows a solution?

    Hello again
    Yeah! you're absolutely right :)
The computer switch off without any message. However, the screen becomes very low-bright so I can't read anything. And all this even when I'm not under Windows
Unfortunately, I left the recovery image in another country :(
Could the problem be linked to the ACPI stuff? In fact the screen only switches-on normally for some seconds when I change the Power managment profile in the BIOS...
Tank you for your answer Pedro

  • Satellite A60 - Conflict with the clock

Greetings, I have a problem with a Toshiba Satellite A60, is this: the PC clock advances one second as time goes 4 seconds, ie in the pc are the clock is 9:29:17 and the same time but to change one second on the pc, is like this: 9:29:18 and the clock has advanced 4 seconds running 9:29:21, and disassemble the laptop and check the internal battery of the board and is soldered to the pc, if you can not take off, but I believe that working with the battery of the laptop, the pc does not have windows installed, in fact I'm going on no hard drive and entered the BIOS and still gives the error.
That could be? I suggest they do? Thank you.
My language is Spanish, so I apologize for my English.

    Hey mate,
To be honest I really dont know what mean exaclty. I only understand that you have problems with the clock.
The RTC (BIOS) battery can be charged if you leave the notebook connected to AC/DC adaptor. This also loads the RTC battery.
    Check this!!!

  • Satellite A60 crashes and reboot cycle - system32\DRIVERS\Ntfs missing or corrupt

I have a Toshiba Satellite A60 which has recently developed a serious problem and is currently stuck in a crash reboot cycle. It began with the message "system32\DRIVERS\Ntfs missing or corrupt", I have read about this problem on message boards but still am unable to find a fix.
Currently on start up various error messages are displayed stating a driver is missing or corrupt, the Toshiba start up page has vertical lines of missing data and on the few occasions it will fully boot after a short period of time vertical lines appear through the display and it crashes.
I have tried a number of fixes:
    * Re installed windows XP pro (formatting the hard drive and renewing the partitions)
    * Updating the bios from the toshiba site to version 1.90 (I believe the update also flashes the bios, though would need this confirming?)
    * Swapping the hard drive with another laptop, still will not boot and HD works fine in the other laptop, ruling out the missing or corrupt files posibility.
I realise this could be a problem with the RAM and believe the laptop has 512 fixed to the motherboard, inaccesible without stripping down, but am not sure how to determine if RAM is the problem. Whilst trying these fixes I am getting problems with booting from the CD drive and can only get the drive to spin up and recognise the CD about 1 in 10 times.
Could anyone suggest a remedy or fix I may try? or suggest how they fixed a similar problem. Many thanks

You description ssounds not very good ;(
The hardware malfunction seems to be responsible for the vertical lines on the screen
If the vertical lines appear also an external display the board could be wrong.
Youre right, I have googled and it seems the Sat A60 supports an internal memory.
As far as I know such memory cannot be removed and only a electronics technician could solve such internal memory problem.
But are you sure that the internal memory is corrupt. The unit supports only 256MB of internal memory and other modules are removable
So you could try to replace it

  • Satellite A60 restarts automatically by showing a blue screen

I have a two year old Toshiba Satellite A60, recently I have noticed a problem where suddenly the computer restarts automatically, by first showing a blue screen with white text for a glimpse of a second. Also what difference does it make to update the BIOS?

    Hi Mustafa
Generally the Blue Screen of Death appears because of hardware fault or a serious software malfunction.
Both issues are possible on your unit.
Please check this Toshiba FAQ about disabling automatic restart of Windows XP after a System failure:
    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ5B01770000R01.htm
If the error message appears again so you can see the full details of this message and then it should be possible to detect the reason why it happens.
PS: Additional you can try to recover the notebook with the delivered recovery CD. Maybe this will solve this issue.

  • Satellite A60 Resume failure and press any key to continue

I have a problem with my satellite A60.
I have had the computer for about a year and a half and have never had any serious problems with it of any kind. However last week the keyboard started to fail, first with only a few keys out, then the full keyboard.
This never bothered me much because I am quite familiar with Toshiba computers. So I plugged in an external keyboard and I was back in business.
I used it fine up until now but I put the computer into hibernate last night and when I got up this morning it says "resume failure and press any key to continue".
I press keys and nothing happens, it just stays at that screen. I try to access BIOS by pressing esc when I turn the computer on and priority is set to BOOT not RESUME, hover it wont let me highlight it to change it anyways. The computer wont let me boot from cd. Basically its just stuck at that screen and thats it.
I am wondering if there is another way around this or is my computer finished for good. I was running linux fedora the time of the crash.

Sounds tricky but its not unresolvable..
This sounds strong like a hardware issue, but I will not say it for sure.
That keyboardthing can be a defective keyboardcontroller, because your error description is describing a similar case which I had with my machine.
I send the machine to my local servicepartner and they exchanged my mainboard and the keyboard and after the repair the error, I had, never bothered me again.
Just a little question: does some fluids come on your keyboard?
    nice weekend

  • Satellite A60: Cannot connect to internet via modem - no dial-up

In my Satellite A60, WinXP Home, when I try to connect to the Internet via the Toshiba modem, I get Error 6: invalid handle, and after some attempts I get Error 50: all devices connected / request not supported.
Device Manager / Network / RAS Async Adapter shows an error (black exclamation point on a yellow field).
The driver is asyncmac.sys = MS Remote Access serial network driver.
    I have:
    - tried to uninstall RAS Async Adapter, but no chance, says it may be necessary for boot-up
    - uninstalled / re-installed modem
    - updated winXP via windows update
    - updated bios / modem / network drivers from Toshiba
No luck, the RAS Async Adapter error is still there.
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks
    Alessio - Italy

I think this problem concerns Windows XP and RAS Async Adapter, not the modem.
The modem dials correctly the number, negotiates user and password, and then I get the error 6 and 50.
I found on the internet this tip to uninstall and re-install the RAS Async Adapter:
    http://forums.practicallynetworked.com/showthread.php?t=6781
I have followed the instructions and executed RArepair.exe.
It uninstalls and reinstalls the the RAS Async Adapter, but RAS is still in error (yellow field in Device manager).

  • Satellite A60 - sound has stopped working

Satellite A60 - sound has stopped working. Downloaded new sound driver from toshiba web site - clicked on sound update icon and it worked, but disappeared every time I restarted.
Clicked on installshield icon, and install starts, but then has an error message saying 0x80040303, unknown error, setup terminates - this happens every time.
Tried to download other updates, but it says I didn't register my laptop, which I'm sure I did, and won't let me do it again because it's more than 6 months old.
    Help!!

    Hello
Try to roll back the operating system to an earlier time when everything works fine. On this way it is not easy to say why this happen. Try also to remove sound card from device manager and restart the unit.
All drivers for your unit you can find on Toshiba download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

  • Memory upgrade on Satellite A60-218

    Hi,
Is it possible to upgrade the memory for the Satellite A60-218 models?
I've heard that the memory is onboard (internal) and cannot be replaced. Is this true?
If not, could somebody give me a hint where can I find the memory modules on this model?
I have tried disassembling it without success.
    Thanks!
    Levente

    Hello
Just for info: Satellite A60 has 512 MB internal memory and one sot only is available for upgrade. This unit can handle with max 1,5 GB of RAM. On the bottom side in the middle there is placed memory module cover. Remove it and you will find RAM slot.
For RAM upgrade you can use follow compatible memory modules:
    PC2700 512MB (PA3312U-1M51)
    PC2700 1024MB (PA3313U-1M1G)
If you have more questions please write again.
    Bye and good luck!

  • Memory upgrade to 1GB RAM on Satellite A60

I have Satellite A60 and I want to update the memory from 256MB to 1GB
    Please can I do it?

    Hi
Maybe the link to this Toshiba Satellite A60 memory website could help you too:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=8333&ft=m&st=3
As mentioned there is only one upgradeable memory slot and you could use the 200-Pin PC2700 (333Mhz) DDR SODIMM modules.
Usually its not matter what manufacture it is. Only the memory specifications are important.
    Bye

  • Graphic card upgrade on Satellite A60

My Queston is if there is any possibitity to change my Radeon Mobility 7000 igp of my Satellite A60 for a better card or do i have to by a complete new Mainboard?

    Hello
This theme was discussed a lot of time in the forum and there is a simply and short answer: No, its not possible to upgrade the graphic card.
The card is a little chip which is fixed on the mainboard.
About the motherboard changing: Well, its not very easy because of a exact fitting and compatibility.
