Satellite P845-BKS Keyboard doesn't respond
Hi!
I've got some problems with keyboard. It respond very slow
or doesn't respond for pressing.
If I don't see forte scee it loos lke that.
Some keys look like not pressed.
If I press stronger situation is the same.
It necessary to check all characters and the speed of printing
bacames too slow.
At service center master said that he doesn't see any problems.
He said that we should get used to the keyboard.
And re-install Windows.
But I've got the same problems.
Can anyone have any advice?
> When can I see version of BIOS?
You can find the BIOS version within the BIOS settings.
To access the BIOS you have to press F2 while powering up the unit.
But I doubt that BIOS update would improve the keyboard functionality.
In my opinion you should test an external USB keyboard.
If the external keyboard would work properly, the issue might be related to the internal keyboard.

My iPad 2 keyboard doesn't respond to keystrokes. What is the issue?
My wife was trying to activate cellular data on her iPad 2, but the keyboard didn't respond to strokes when info was requested. So, I went to email and tried to write an email and the same thing happened. I have restarted it, but problem persists. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Try this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -
T420(4177-CTO bought only 3days) keyboard doesn't respond well
When I hit the right arrow bottum for 10 times. It only responded 8~9 times. Will this problem in the warranty? How long will this fix takes? I really need to use this computer these days.
You are in UK right? This is most likely an issue with the keyboard. If you contact warranty support they should help you out.

Keyboard doesn't respond at login window... works in Single User mode
I have a G4 xServe (server 10.3) that won't accept keyboard input at login window, but the same keyboard, usb port, works fine when I'm booted into Single User Mode.
Booting into Single User mode, something interesting gets posted during boot:
"AppleCPUThermo got unsupported command"
Any thoughts?Did you find a resolution to this issue? After I installed the latest security update to OSX Server 10.4.8 I am now experiencing the same problem. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I have to unplug and replug my USB keyboard upon start up. I can use the wireless mouse, but not the keyboard.
If zapping the PRAM does not work, try another keyboard. Double check your USB port connections....keyboard to iMac. If that does not work, you need a new keyboard.

Keyboard doesn't work on Satellite L450
I am trying to fix a Satellite L450-181 for a friend.
I have had to replace the hard drive as a friend tried to load Yahoo messenger and when the laptop rebooted a screen came up to say a file was either missing or corrupted but we were unable to access any of the keyboard except the mouse and touchpad.
I replaced the hard drive and reloaded windows 7 64bit from a Microsoft disc as we were unable to find the Toshiba recovery disc. Everything works fine after downloading all required drivers from Toshiba except the entire keyboard. The keyboard shows up in the device manager as working fine with no conflicts but I cannot get any function from the keyboard at all.
I suspect my friend has locked the keyboard in some manner or there is a setting I need to enable but I am at a loss at what to try next as I have reloaded the flash card utility, the vap utility, tried the Fn/ F11 and the Fn/F10 combinations to no avail.
Any help would be gratefully received.Hi
From my knowledge its not possible to disable the keyboard using an Fn button combination.
It looks a little bit like an keyboard problem.
But as mentioned by Silas, try to test the keyboard in BIOS.
Power up the unit and press F2 to access the BIOS
Here you should set the BIOS to default press F9 and save the changes pressing F10
If this is not possible and if the keyboard does not respond, then the keyboard might be faulty and needs to be replaced.
By the way: you can connect an external USB keyboard in order to check this. -
Keys in row 1-9 and A-L doesn't respond, on macbook pro internal keyboard
Happened all of a sudden.
I tried to restart, and now I am stuck at the login screen, as i can't type my password.
I suspect it to be some sort of accidentally triggered numlock like function.
When i hold down the fn key and pres 54 a symbol is entered (but i can't see which, as it is in my password box), and also when i hold fn and hit s and g simultaneously, the whole text is highlighted.
Anyone know what is going on?
Help would be much appreciated, as the computer is useless as it is now.
Thanks

Satellite A60: keyboard doesn't work, recovery DVD can't run
Hello,
I have a serious problem with my A60: the keyboard doesn't work any more. I have tried a lot of solutions and the last one, recovery with the Product Recovery DVD-ROM doesn't work, because I can't use the keyboard!!
When the screen with the 3 choices appears, I have no possibility to answer!!
Have somebody an idea???
Thanks a lot for your answer. They keyboard might not be the problem or it might not be connected properly to the motherboard the best thing to do is take it to a service centre it shouldn't cost you anything, if it is still under warranty...but if it is just the keyboard and your laptop is out of warranty then it should cost you more than 100-200....can't say how much exactly because I have no idea.

After using the right mouseclick safari doesn't respond to any mouseclick
Hi since updating to safari 5.1.1 after using the right mouse click safari doesn't respond to any mouseclick anymore. I can use the keyboard and select menus but that is it. Reinstalled Safari, resetted safari and removed all preferences, caches and disabled all extensions etc. nothing helped. Any suggestions here?

I was triggered that another user on the same system did not have the problem I scanned my user library folder: The problem was an old safari extender plugin in my Contextual Menu Items folder. How to eject a cd when the normal ejecting function doesn't respond
How do I eject a disc that doesn't respond to the normal ejecting function?
Five ways to eject a stuck CD or DVD from the optical drive
Ejecting the stuck disc can usually be done in one of the following ways:
1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the left mouse button until the disc ejects.
2. Press the Eject button on your keyboard.
3. Click on the Eject button in the menubar.
4. Press COMMAND-E.
5. If none of the above work try this:
Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter or paste the following:
/usr/bin/drutil eject.
If this fails then try this:
Boot the computer into single-user mode. At the prompt enter the same command as used above. To restart the computer enter "reboot" at the prompt without quotes. -
All of a sudden my screen doesn't respond anymore? i-pad 2.
I turned on my i-pad 2 and now the screen doesn't respond anymore. I got the slider to unlock it, to move once, but that was it? Help?

TimDid you drop the iPad?
Yes, a wireless keyboard will work with the iPad, but you'll need the iPad to work so you can set it up.
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

Touch pad light doesn't respond to fn spacebar on Pavilion dv7-7012nr with Windows 7 Home premium 64
Touch pad light doesn't respond to fn spacebar on Pavilion dv7-7012nr with Windows 7 Home premium 64. Bought it new from HP.com in October and it has never worked.
Hi,
I belive that action OR f5 is for the backlit keyboard, not the touchpad. For the touchpad (my machine is also a dv7-70xx) you need to touch the switch (rapidly twice) which is on the left corner of the touchpad. The following image shows where is the light (yellow circle) and where is the swich (red rectangular):
Hope this helps.

Macbook keyboard no longer responding.
My Macbook's keyboard has stopped responding.
I shutdown my computer at home, and brought it in to be upgraded, when the service technician booted up my computer some keys would respond, some would duplicate their input and others wouldn't respond at all. My computer has booted up and is running normally, and I'm able to type on it through an external keyboard. The trackpad is still continuing to work as well.
The technician suggested that it may be the logic board, I'm hoping otherwise.
Any ideas? What I just did was: (and I did this before...)
start macbook.
put in disc 1
result; grey screen and the startup tune.
I shutdown the power with power button.
Started up again (wih the disc inside the reader) AND holding down the D key.
I hear the startup tune and get a gey screen.
Nothing else happens. When it started I could hear the disc in the dvd player.
It doesn't matter what kind of key or key-cominations I use. The result is almost always the same Nothing happens and I keep looking at a grey screen.
In order to shut the computer down I have to use forced shut down (holding the shutdown key for a couple of seconds).
