Satellite Pro A120 - What Toshiba processes can be excluded from start-up?

My old A120 has over 50 processes showing in Task Manager before I even open a browser or any other application.
This seems far too many for a machine with a 1.46 GB processor (and half a gig of RAM).
Many of them are Toshiba processes, and look worryingly as if they are associated with hardware operation.
Is there a list anywhere of Toshiba processes which can safely be turned off - and which advises how to do this?

Every notebook has preinstalled different software and therefore different processes are running in the background of the OS.
There is no general answer what processes could be disabled.
Fact is that Toshiba notebook supports many different additional features which need the additional software.
If you dont want to use features like FN buttons, Toshiba control buttons, etc then you could disable the process responsible for this feature.
If you dont know exactly what a certain process do, then goggle simply for some details. There are many websites with different database which includes information about Windows background processes.
Then you could access the MSCONFIG and in the Startup tab you could disable some processes just for testing.
In worst case if something would not work you could enable it again.
