Saving Queries within SAP B1

Hello,
I remember on 2005, blank ad hoc queries would be saved as queries.txt so we could just overwrite the last one on the server in order to bring it up on screen. However, itu2019s annoying that it now defaults to no name (u2018.txtu2019) therefore brings up an error when we try to export to excel. We then have to call it something like u2018a.txtu2019 or u2018888.txtu2019 just to make it display on screen.
Is it possible to make ad-hoc queries default to u2018queries.txtu2019 again?
Regards,
Juan

Dear Juan,
I have tested a database demo in 2007a sp 01 pl 10 and when I export the values of a query in the query generator it will save the document as .txt as default (txt is the text file).
After it was saved, I tried to change the type of the document from .txt to .xls to transform it into an excel file and the data was still consistent.
Maybe I am not answering to your question. I thought you were speaking about 2005 SAP Business One Version and not sql server version. Am I correct?

  • Exception reports within SAP

    I am looking for any information on built-in exception reports within SAP, do these exist? The company I work for typically runs custom reports to identify duplicate payments, receiving errors, missed opportunities based on payment terms, etc. These reports are generated outside SAP. I have been able to use screen MB5S (GR/IR Balances) to isolate over received purchase orders, but I am interested to learn more about the tools that are built into SAP. Any help is appreciated!

    Hi.......
    Welcome to SAP Business One Forum.......
    You can not get the query for inbuilt reports.
    But for some of the reports saved in Query manager by System you get.
    But i would suggest you to create your own SQL queries.....
    More beneficial to you.......

  • Refresh individual queries within a workbook in SP20 EHp1 System

    Hi,
    Currently we have upgraded our BI system to EHP1 pack for SP20. Now we are in BI7.01. We have found in SAP release notes for EHP1 like " in BEX 7 analyzer we will able to Refresh individual queries within a workbook:".
    Can you please tell me how to acheive that, as when we are trying to do it refreshes all the sheets.
    Also in Global settings tab " Allow single data provider refresh" is disabled. Kindly tell me step by step procedure to acheive this,
    Thanks

    Hi Krishna,
    Really thanks for your instructions. We have enabled hte "refresh on individual workbooks" in the workbook settings tab adn we are able to see the same in the context menu of the analysis grid.
    Again i have few doubts.
    I can able to see two options as below.
    1. Refresh
    2. Refresh this query.
    What is the difference between this two?. Also when i click the "refresh this query" it shud display the "selections screen of the particular query", But it is not at all showing me a selection screen,
    What i am doing is.. I am simply doing "refresh this query" option that will refresh my screen first adn i am doing change variables.
    That will give me the selection screen of the particular query. If i am not doing so, all workbooks are refreshing,
    Please advice, whether selection screen of the particular query can be shown when clicking "refresh this query".
    Thanks/

  • Problem saving queries with calculated key figures

    Hello Experts,
    I am analyzing this problem since many hours during the last weeks and I don't know, what else to do.
    The problem is saving a key user query containing a calculated key figure in the production system (BW 3.5 SP SAPKW35015). The Error 'The query could not be saved due to a problem in transport' occures.
    If I exclude the KF from the query, saving is possible, so the calculated KF must be the source of the problem.
    The system is set to not changeable, but the 'Object Changeability' of 'Query Elements' in 'RSA1' --> 'Transport Connection' is set to 'Changeable Original'. If I set this option to 'Everything changeable', saving of the query works, but this is not possible in production, because transported standard queries would also be changeable.
    For saving queries, die authorization object S_RS_COMP and S_RS_COMP1 is included completely with *, but this does not help.
    I also transported the query and the KF again from development system ... no change, same problem.
    I found the SAP note 533413, but what does this mean? "This problem can only be solved in the next BW release ..." I heard from colleagues, that BW 7.0 has the same problems.
    Does anyone have an idea, how to solve this problem?
    I would be very thankful for any reply...

    Thank you for your answer, but I have set the Object Changeability to Everything Changeable and restricted the user with S_RS_COMP. So only certain query names can be used and changed. Experiences from collegues said, that deleting and transporting again would not help.

  • Unable to view saved queries in Favourites

    Hi Experts,
    We have few users using Bex. They can successfully save queries in Favourites, however when they are trying to open the queries saved in Favourites, they are unable to see anything. That is they are unable to view their saved queries under Favourites.
    From Backend perspective they have SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW. Please suggest what might be the issue here?
    Thanks
    Deb

    Hi,
    Thanks for your inputs, No issues found in the Gateway Logging.
    The SAP Note 1031850 doesn't seem to be relevant here as we are on SAP_BW component version 701 and the note talks about components 700 and 710.
    I don't know whether I am able to explain the issue properly; Users are able to save queries in their Favourite Folder by putting an XYZ technical name to it. However after coming back to the Analyser, they are unable to view any saved queries in their Favourite Folder. Interestingly this is happening in the QA environment while in Dev everything is fine.
    Thanks,
    Deb

  • Saved Queries in Business Partners not working

    Hi All,
    I have 2 saved queries that populate the following Business Partners fields with default data:
    Group - I have a default group for a Vendor and a different default group for a Customer
    ShipType - I have a default Ship Type for a Vendor and a different default Ship Type for a Customer
    To trigger these saved queries, I have used Auto Refresh when BP Type changes.  The problem I am having is you have to change the field from Customer to Vendor and back to Customer again to trigger the saved queries for a Customer.
    Questions:
    Is there an alternative to using BP Type that will trigger the saved queries that return a different result depending on the BP Types?
    Should I set the default programically instead? And, if so, what event will capture if an 'Add' is a customer or a vendor - keeping in mind you do not change the combobox for customer (because it is already displayed in the combobox as the default in SAP)?  Also, keep in mind the combobox value is returning =Nothing unless I physically change it.
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    Ramona

    Hi All,
    I would like to let you all know I have used the following to solve my question:
    1)  The event that works well at capturing whether the data returned is a Customer, Vendor or Lead in FIND mode (when the form is first loaded)is SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_FORM_DATA_LOAD.
    I have set default data and default UDF categories depending on if the data returned is a Customer, Vendor or Lead.  I have removed the saved queries.
    2)  For the ADD, I have used a menu event that will force the combobox to change from the default of "customer" to "vendor" when someone clicks on the add button.  Then I have added code to the Combo_Select Event that will populate the defaults.
    I appreciate the responses I received.

  • Find and replace Dreamweaver mx 2004 problem: not opening saved queries

    Dreamweaver mx 2004 is not opening saved queries! I use find and replace often and uses to save code replacements to reuse
    it. But now when I open the saved query I have 2 situations:
    1) comes completely blank
    2) or only shows truncated text or code in fields.
    I opened the dwr file in text editor and seems to be fine, I mean information saved is there.
    Tried recreating cache, or deleting caché, tried saving new or overwritting existant ones, tried saving into a completely different location,
    tried in other site definition. Nothing seems to work...

    Which FTP app did your predecessor use to upload files?  If it's still on your work station, it should contain the log-in credentials.

  • 2 Queries within 1 workbook in BEx BI7.0

    Hi Experts,
    I know that there is a new method of creating a workbooks in BI7.0 using the Design Mode.
    Suppose I have put 2 queries within 1 sheet in excel (one on top of the other). I did this by inserting 2 analysis grids within the same worksheet.
    When I try to drill down the query on top, the area it occupies expands and completely overwrites the query at the bottom.  As such, the bottom query disappears.
    Is there a setting somewhere which will make the system adjust the position of the query at the bottom in this scenario?
    I remember that with 3.x, when you insert 2 queries within the same worksheet in the workbook and you try to do a drilldown, the system would ask if you want it to overwrite or adjust the affected query area.
    I am trying to look for the same functionality in BI7.0 workbook creation.
    Thanks for your help in advance.

  • EWA for Business Objects (XI 3.1) within SAP Solution Manager

    Hello!
    We use Business Objects (XI 3.1) and would like to get weekly a EWA report within our SAP Solution Manager.
    Our SAP Solution Manger has only ABAP stack and it has the SPS version 25.
    We also do not use Wily Introscope/Diagnostics and E2E tools within SAP Solution Manager.
    Question
    Is it possible to set up EWA for Business Objects with our requirements (SOLMAN with ABAP stack and without E2E/Diagnostics tools)?

    Hello,
    The short answer is no. You can verify this in SAP Note  1507629  - Preparing a BOE system for Service Sessions in Sol. Manager.
    "...1.) Managed System Setup
    Perform the Managed System Setup for SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise as
    described in the "End-to-End Root Cause Analysis System Landscape Setup
    Guide". This guide can be found in the SAP Service Market Place:
    -> http://service.sap.com/diagnostics
        -> Navigate to the "Media Library"
           -> Open the document "SAP Solution Manager Landscape Setup Guide"
    Please ensure that you perform all steps mentioned in the guide which
    are relevant for your product and version. Please read also SAP note
    1357901, which is also referred to in the above mentioned setup guide."
    So this is a requirement. There are also pdf documetns attached to this note  that describe how to setup the EWA in Solution Manager. EGI_SBOP_EWA_part1.pdf and EGI_SBOP_EWA_part2.pdf.
    The fact you have no Java stack and have not installed Diagnostics, just means it has not been done. It can be done and then you can do a managed system setup, and the balance of tasks required to prepare the system and Solution manager to generate EWA reports for the BOE system. Its just more work, not a show stopper.

    Paul

  • Possibility to execute Acrobat Pro's "Combine files into PDF" function from within SAP?

    Good day.
    Presently, a company uses Acrobat Pro to manually combine files such as *.pdf, *.jpg, *.doc, which have been downloaded from SAP's Document Management System, into one pdf file. I would like to know if it is possible to automatically execute Acrobat Pro's "Combine files into PDF" function from within SAP (ECC 6.0) application system. I'm wondering if this could be achieved from a program via OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) or RFC (remote function call).
    Thanks in advance for your thoughts and inputs.

    Yes, you can combine PDF files via IAC/COM methods.

  • Control multiple updates and queries within one transaction in JPA

    Hi,
    I have a question regarding control multiple updates and queries within one transaction. We are using EclipseLink 2.3.1. With below code, will I be able to:
    - have all insert, update, select queries committed in one transaction;
    - queryGetBalance will return the latest OrgBalance after update;
    - if one fails, everything rolls back.
    Thanks!
    Jeffrey
    PS: I realized that I cannot use em.getTransaction().begin() and em.getTransaction().commit(), since I am using JTA.
    =============
    @PersistenceContext(unitName="Test")
    EntityManager em;
    em.setFlushMode(FlushModeType.COMMIT);
    newTransaction.setAmount(1000);
    newTransaction.setType("check");
    em.persist(newTransaction);
    orgAudit.setUpdateUser("Joe")
    orgAudit.setupUpdateTime(time);
    em.merge(orgAudit);
    Query queryUpdateBalance = em.createQuery("update OrgBalance o set o.balance = o.balance + :amount where orgId = :myOrgId");
    queryUpdateBalance.setParameter("amount", 1000);
    queryUpdateBalance.setParameter("myOrgId", 1234);
    Query queryGetBalance = em.createQuery("select OrgBalance o where o.orgId = :myOrgId");
    queryGetBalance.setHint("javax.persistence.cache.storeMode", CacheStoreMode.REFRESH);
    queryGetBalance.setHint("javax.persistence.cache.retrieveMode", CacheRetrieveMode.BYPASS);
    queryGetBalance.getResultList();
    em.flush();

    Yes, the operation will be in a single transaction, assuming you are using a JTA managed SessionBean and the code is part of a SessionBean method.

  • Embedding 2 queries within the same tab in a work-book?

    Hi Experts,
    Is it possible to embedd multible queries within a single tab in a Workbook?i.e. can we define a cell range in which a particular query is to be embedded and a different cell range within the same tab for another query?
    Thanks
    Aravind

    Hi,
    It is very much possible.
    Just insert the 2 queries at different places and save the work book.
    In the properties you can so the the result of the 2 queries do not overwrite and ouput is adjusted accordingly.

  • Using Document Management within SAP

    Hi,
    I'm relatively new to SAP and need to have some information about using the Document Management Services within SAP.  As with other ERP products there are drawbacks to allowing this functionality such as disk space concerns, upgrades, performance issues.  Based on some other threads I've read about this it looks like some of the options can be disable to eliminate some of the disk space concerns.
    Could anyone point me to a good document that describes Document Management Services and the benefits/drawbacks?  I would also be extremely interested in personal experiences of why you would and wouldn't use it.
    Thanks,
    Julie

    Hi, Julie
    Purpose;
    The Document Management Service (DMS) is a service of the information management infrastructure provided by the Knowledge Provider within the framework of SAP Web Application Server. The central task of the DMS is to process documents and document-like objects on the basis of application-specific content models. Only the DMS can modify document administration data and save this data in a storage medium, such as the SAP database.
    Implementation Considerations;
    In order to use the DMS, you need to implement some Customizing steps. For details, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) under the following path: SAP Web Application Server ® Basis Services ® Knowledge Provider ® Document Management Service. The IMG modules contain details on the individual Customizing activities.

  • Un-reconciled Report within SAP

    Hello,
    I am wondering if there is a standard report within SAP which shows all un-reconciled transactions for a particular bank as of a certain date?
    I have tried running the following: Banking  Bank Statements and External Reconciliation  Manual Reconciliation. However this doesn't appear to give me what I want.
    Regards,
    Juan

    Hi Juan,
    Do you want to see unreconciled transactions on a GL/bank account or transactions on a bank account?
    Unreconciled transactions can be viewed on the GL's account balance.
    If you want to see the transactions that have gone thru on a bank account, you would use the External Reconciliation as you indicated. You would select the transactions that are showing on your bank statement; the remaining entries are the outstanding entries that have not gone thru that bank account.
