SB Audigy 2NX USB - Sound distorted and interrupted after format

Salve,
due to some softwareproblems i had to format my hd, and reinstall my windows.
some specs first:
win xp prof, sp2, intel p4 2,2 desknote motherboard, sis vga, sis onboard sound
usb devices: ta 33 usb router, wacom intuos 3 and soundblaster audigy 2 nx
the funny thing is - before i formated, the sb worked well, i had no trouble.
then i got my graphic tablet - and it didn?t work properly - the pc chrashed every time i used the tablet. installing sp2 solved the prob, and sb and tablet worked well togehter.
i installed the system again, and first my onboard chips drivers were installed. i can't deaktivate them in the bios - so they are loaded, no matter if you want to or not.
then i connected the sb again, and the sound plays clean - but only on two speakers.
after installing the drivers, the sound was interrupted, or had some distortion.
i tried to deaktivate the onboar chip, but it didn?t solve the problem.
after installing my tablet - the sound got worse, and the mouse cursor often lagged or stucked. so i thought it could be a driver problem, or irq conflict. in installed sp2 again, but this time it did not fix anything.
i tried all i knew - deaktivate acpi, reinstall drivers, cleaning registry, re install and so on. then i calles the tech support - he gave me hints, i already tried, and gave me a alink for the webupdate drivers. i downed and istalled them - but still the same problems. i uninstalled my usb controllers, disconnected all other usb hardware, i even changed through all 4 ports - but the problem stayed. after 3 days i decided to format again - but - tadaaaa -it was useless. i still have the same problem - now one week is over and i?m fed up with this. i need my soundcard for making music, and playing dj sets....and i?m running out of time - so please - if anyone has an idea, i would be very glad.
i found out the distortion depends on cpu usage, but also changing the parameters of the hardwares, soundchip- and blasters accelaration did not help. dxdiag said it'ss all fine
with my system.
greetings,
psycho mantis,
germany

hi,
well i could fix the problem.
first i downloaded updates for my board and all the chips on it, and windows sp2 and so on...
but nothin worked. the problem was caused by the ir port. i disabled ir support in the bios, and then it worked fine. there was an interrupt channel conflict. now everything is fine

  • Audigy 2NX USB and PCMCIA 2ZS compatibil

Currently I use an Audigy 2NX USB with my laptop. I will install the Audigy PCMCIA notebook card on the same laptop. With the USB 2NX, when it is powered off, the laptop automatically configures itself to use the internal (motherboard) sound card.
() My understand is that with the 2ZS PCMCIA card, you need to physically remove the card (e.g. "Safely Remove Hardware") to revert to the internal sound-card speakers. Is that correct?
    (2) PCMCIA 2ZS comes with the Smart Recorder application. Can that application be also be used with the USB 2NX card enabled (and with the PCMCIA card removed) ?

I have an Audigy 2 NX myself, and I found it works best off of a direct root usb port (not off a hub). The problem is that on most computers 2 USB ports share hub. Which is why you are having that comflict.
My conflict doesn't happen there, it was on the mouse at first, now it's on an external IDE Adapter i'm using.
All I do is unplug the IDE adaptor when it stops working, waiting a few seconds, then plugging it back in.
So what I suggest is to do like I did, and switch what ports things are plugged into until it's something that can plug & unplug with no real issues.
Why this happens, in opinion, is that there just isn't enough power getting to all the usb ports when there's alot of stuff plugged into them. My limit seems to be 7 items, even though most of them are lower power stuff, mouse, joysticks. I do have a 3.5" hd in a case, which is self powered, and the ide adaptor which is self powered, and the audigy 2 nx, which is, as you know, self powered. I can plug another item in, but anymore after that will knock my ide adaptor. and i still have usb ports i'm not even using. oh, the joysticks are on a hub which is where I usually plug another item in, either my mp3 player or thumbdri've.
I think it most likely an electric problem, and that it only affects people with faulty usb componets or something. I haven't heard of it being widespread or specific chipset/usb controller problem. Can't think of anything else it could be, but i'm not an electrition.
Sorry i could be of much help, but maybe you can at least make it less of a bother to deal with.
    good luck

  • Audigy 2 ZS platinum sound distorted and muff

Too bad one cant rant as one might like in this forum. Had writtend all the details that transpired but when i pressed the submit post, my original post was lost due to expiration of time for my ticket.
    Now, i use telegraph details.
Bought Audigy 2 ZS platinum, bad sound Distorted and muffled from the speakers except center speaker and no sound at all from rear center speaker. Same setup using Audigy Platinum, zero problems.
    Using
    Asus a7n8x-e Deluxe MB
    024GB PC3200 Ram
    ATI 9800 Pro AIW
Sound blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
    Creative DDTS-00 Decoder
    Creative Inspire 6600 Speakers/Creative Inspire 5300 Speakers

    Fabrizziov,
Is the sound muffled and distorted when you plug headphones into the headphone out on the platinum dri've? If not, plug the headphones into the sound card's front output and run a speaker test to see if it is muffled and distorted from there. If it is then it is most likely a problem with the card's hardware. If this is the case I would suggest exchanging it for another through your retailer. You can also contact support for a repair if needed. Their contact information is at http://us.creative.com/support/custsup.

  • Audigy 2NX USB Root Hub Prob

Hopefully someone here will have some suggestions to help resolve my issue.
I have fi've USB Root Hubs on my computer; the USB system is 2.0
Only two of those hubs are in use. One hosts my Canon scanner.
The other hosts every other USB device on my system.
That in itself is an issue, but because not all of my USB devices are in use simultaneously, it hasn't previously been an issue.
Now, however, it has become one.
Both my Audigy 2NX and a four-port self-powered USB 2.0 hub are on one USB Root Hub. The four port hub has my two printers connected to it.
The issue is that when I use my laserjet printer, it disables the Audigy 2NX. The Audigy normally comes back up after the printer has gone back into sleep mode.
However, if I am playing a game when the printer is used (I share it on a wireless home network) it disables the Audigy and it can only be brought back up by restarting the computer.
    I think it is one of two issues;
. The four port hub with the printers on it cannot share a root hub with the Audigy 2NX; when the laserjet comes out of sleep mode, it uses all of the bandwidth on that root hub and disconnects the Audigy.
    2. A recent driver update to the Audigy is conflicting somehow with the printer.
I might also be tempted to think it was a power supply issue if I didn't have a robust 650 watt PSU on my system.
To try to get the two devices on separate root hubs, I turned off my computer and disconnected all of my USB devices. Then I connected one at a time, powering down in between connections.
The device assignment remained the same.
My next step is to uninstall the Audigy 2NX completely from my system, and then re-install from the base drivers.
My question is; does anyone know how to force devices to install to a specific and/or different root hub outside of their physical connection? An .ini edit or perhaps a driver edit's
Thanks in advance for any help.

  • My audiobooks sound distorted and I cannot listen to them - the voice echoes

Hi - I recently purchased a few audiobooks onto my ipod nano 6G and they were all fine for a while and suddenly they sound distorted like the voices are echoeing - please can you let me know how I can fix this problem as I really enjoy listening to audiobooks.
    Thank you.

Is it on mute? What IOS do you have?
IOS 7.0+: open control center (swipe from under to top) and tap on the bell.
Or, if it has the lock button instead if the bell, switch the switch on your iPad to unmute / mute
IOS 6 and under: Go to settings>General> USE SIDE SWITCH TO and click mute.
Then switch the switch. You're unmuted.
If it still doesn't work, go to a repair shop or apple so they can change the speakers of your iPad.

  • Sound distorted and no control when using akg k451's with 'in line remote' cable

Just bought a pair of AKG k451 headphones from Amazon.
The headphones come with 2 different cables, a standard cable, and one with an 'in line remote' for use with Apple products.
The sound is fine with the standard cable, but if I use the 'in line' cable, the sound is distorted and there is no control of volume or play/pause function.
I'm sure I have a problem with my iPhone 4S, as it works fine with both my wifes 4s and my ipad 2.
It almost as if my phone does not like anything with a 'in line' remote.
I'm running latest iOS etc and my phone is over 2 years old.
Is this something that can be fixed, or will I need a new phone?
    Any suggestions would be grateful.

    shortytenshi,
Caveat--I haven't tried this kind of hookup, and you didn't mention what Soundcard or game console you are using. But let me see if I understand correctly. You have two female RCA audio connectors on your game console. I'm guessing you ran two male-male RCA cables from the console to the two female RCA jacks on the Y splitter. And then you put the stereo plug of the Y-splitter into the Line-In of your SoundBlaster card (what card do you have?) You said you tested the cables, but you mentioned the female jacks, so I assume you mean that you tested the Y-Splitter. Have you verified that the male-male cables are intact and that your game console is puting out stereo on them? And do you have your speakers set to 2.0 and Line-In selected as your REC source and unmuted as your Playback source? Some cards also have a left-right speaker balance. It also would help if you could try recording from some other stereo source both using the same and different cables to test whether the card Line-in jack or cables are at fault.

  • Wifi connection very slow and interrupted after several minutes

My wifi connection is interrupted after several minutes. I can restart the connection with wifi assisted, diagnose tool. It indicates always ISP failure. When I go through the assistant, it sows that the network connection was changed, and the wifi connection is back. But only for some minutes, then I have to go the the assistant again, and again and again. Also the wifi protocoll tool did not help me.
Meantime I don't have any problems with my IPad or Iphone.
In the web I found plenty of other users with MacBook Pro (Retina) OS X Yosemite, Version 10.10.2 with similar problems. When will apple fix this bug?
Do somebody has in idea how to fix it?
    Thanks for your support!

You posted in the support forum for the Apple routers......AirPort Express, Airport Extreme and Time Capsule.....the products pictured below:
But, your post seems to describe a connection issue that you are experiencing with your MacBook Pro.  We are not sure how an Apple router might be involved here if your other devices are connecting well.

  • Creative Fatality HS-1000 USB sound distortion issue.

I've been having this issue off and on since I got this headset roughly 2 days ago. When I restart my computer the sound is completely corrupted when i get back into windows. It fixed itself when i installed the latest driver and firmware but is once again back after i shut my computer off for the night.
What happens is every sound in windows, music, logon and off, in games and such sound like a distorted helicopter taking off. Absolutely no normal sound comes through except for the annoying distorted helicopter noise. I can't for the life of me figure out the issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. My operating system is Windows XP pro sp3.

Never mind, my problem is fixed. (turns out that the racing wheel causes problems for the headset if the wheel is plugged into any other port except the one built into the MB, which is to say usb ports that are connected to the MB via cable to the usb headers. The headset also didn't like sharing those ports with the wheel either)

  • External USB Sound Card and 6-channel 5.1 SS speakers not working

Hi. I purchased a few devices to expand my sound to 5.1 surround sound. However, I'm having trouble getting any results at all. Here's my situation.
    New 24-in Intel iMac
    Logitech G51 Surround Sound Speakers
PPA International External Sound 6 Channel USB device
I can select the audio device in the Sound control panel and under the Audio MIDI Setup utility. I have changed the device to be a 6 channel device, but I cannot get any sound to come out of the speakers at all. It could be that this particular USB audio device is not compatible, but since it shows up as a selectable device I had some hope that it would work. The device doesn't claim to be mac compatible, but that isn't always a requirement. I crossed my fingers and took a chance.
If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate the help.

I'm almost certain it is because of the lack of a mac driver for this particular sound card. <gasp> This setup works great under XP when using BootCamp. If I'm dead in the water with sound card, are there reliable alternatives I look for?
Here are the links to the products I'm referring to.

  • Calls sound distorted and broken up?

Hi, currently having the same fun and games as everyone else with there new N97's, but one thing i was really let down on was the sound quality when you were on a call. Every call i have made so far regardless of who i call or where i am, it sounds very tinny and has a constant break up or distortion to it. People at the other end say they can hear my clearly though. It sounds like im loosing my signal, but i have almost full signal everytime.
It reminds me of the cordless phones at work when they arent close to there handset base's. Havning an LG Viewty previous to this i am very dissapointed with the N97. I think the technology inside the phone is great, its just unfortunate the software isnt up to date with it and customers basically have a BETA version of a phone. Why release a phone with these bugs and then issue updates for it? At the end of the day Nokia are loosing customers to other brands that produce better quality and spec phones with proper end user software straight from the box.
This is only my second Nokia in around 15 years and it could easily be another 15 before i contemplate another.

  • Soundblaster Audigy 2NX External Sound Card Fidelity Degradat

I get a muted, out of phase, tinny sound along with the music being played; sounds ok for a while then this happens regurlarly. Closing player & reopening stops the problem temporarily but recurs. I've uinstalled/reinstalled software & updated as well. Any suggestions?Message Edited by Vince8 on 0-22-2005 09:50 PM

You should insist to have the installation CD. There are several essential software in the CD which may not be avaibale for download. Alternati'vely, you may want to contact Creative technical support to get/buy the CD.

  • [MBA 2013]sound crashes and restart after a few seconds

    Hi guys,
I bought a Macbook Air in June 2013 and 2-3 months ago, I started having problems with the sound.
Basically, there is always one of those things running : iTunes, VLC or youtube/soundcloud so I always use the sound.
After some time, the sound is strange like it is dying. After a few seconds, it stops working and then I have to wait around 5-10 seconds for it to be automatically restarted. I don't have headphone or anything plugged in and no external sound card.
All my drivers are up to date and I have the last Mac OS X version (10.9.4 I think).
Does anybody know what I should do ? Format it ? Uninstall all the software like Boom, Accubeatmix (maybe they cause the problem but I've used them since I have the MBA).
I am used to using linux commands in a terminal if there is some dirty things to fix that so feel free to share those.
    Thanks.

I uninstalled Boom and it seems to work now. Strange that it worked without any problem for a long time.
I'll install it again and see what happens.
    Thanks.

  • Distortion and crash after importing images in Adobe Premiere 6 Pro

I am very happy with Adobe CS6. On thing though has prevented me from being able to finish my edits in Adobe Premiere Pro.
When I import pictures into the project, there it is: a shaky horizontal 'ribbon of distortion', which makes it imposible to view or work in Premiere. After Minimalizing Premiere, the ribbon sometimes shows up over my other applications, f.i. firefox. I wanted to share a picture of this And now the weird thing: I cannot make a screenshot of this. After pasting a printscreen into paint, the distortion is gone. So I took my phone, check out the video below.
    My system:
    - Dell Inspiron M5110
    - AMD A8-3520M APU
    - Radeon HD Graphics, 1.60 ghz
    - 8 GB RAM
    - 64 bit operating system
I hope you could shed a light on this error.
    Thanks a lot!

Thanks. I have installed AMD Catalyst in order to assess my system's problems and outdated drivers. Maybe here is a problem? I have changed my laptop's harddisk into a SSD 9 months ago and thereby had to manually install all drivers again. Still, I am puzzled what to do now. And how.
