  • New satellite speakers to SBS 370 2.1 speaker and which !!?

I am pretty happy with the subwoofer's performance of the Creative 370 2.1 speaker set, but I guess I can expect better performance from the satellite speakers.. any specific speakers (Hope it's a balance between performance and budget, and CONNECTS TO THE WOOFER AS THE NATIVE SATELLITE SPEAKERS DO).......

  • SBS 370 2.1 Problem

    Hello everyone,
I have a SBS 370 2.1 speaker system, but it is not working properly now.
Only one speaker is playing the sound.
    i stay in Bangalore,India,
Can anyone direct me to a service centre here.
I really love listening to songs on this set and am missing them a lot.
So would be grateful if someone can help me on this
    Regards,
    thejoshmachine

First of all make sure that the jack going into the soundcard is plugged in tightly as a loose connection could make one channel disappear. I've also had this when the soundcard's output jack gets damaged.
Try plugging headphones into your soundcard and check to see if both channels come out of it. Then try connecting a CD player/walkman/ MP3 player or any other stereo source into the speakers to see if they both channels work.
If it is the speakers, try going here to request technical support:

  • Help Regarding Creative SBS 370

I can not connect the Creative 2.1 Speaker Jack with my Pagaria DVD Player. It can not be inserted So any body please help. Thanks & Regards, Saumitra

You can use equalizer to turn your sub down, just lower the db of the band on the left of the equalizer (the low frequency). Hope this can help, but there's definitely wrong, setting the speaker to 5. usually won't make you loose sound randomly.

  • Broken Wire? (SBS 5.1 560)

First off, I've had this SBS 5.1 560 sound system for about a year and a couple months.
As time went on, it got to the point with my SBS 5.1 560 speaker setup that the sound from my left speaker would "crack in and out" occasionally. By messing with the position of the volume control thing (bending it), I would get the sound to play properly. I assumed something happened to the wire.
NOW, the sound is completely unattainable out of that speaker. I think the wire may have fully severed, or something along those lines. All I know is that it is physical, involving the wire.
I considered stripping and soldering the wire, but there are a number of problems with that:
    1) I don't know which wire it is.
    2) I don't want to damage the system to the point of hopelessness
    3) I'm sure there are other things I haven't thought of
I guess my biggest concern is FINDING the wire that is broken. On the volume control thing, there is one wire that is separate from the rest, and then a combination of 3 little wires. I wish I didn't have to strip that, but Murphy's Law might come into play.

The speakers system does not depend on the bundled software to achieve 5.1 surround. Most sounds that you will play within windows are stereo. This means that they are encoded with left and right signals only.
Do you have a Creative sound card installed in this new PC?
If so, what happens when you enable CMSS?

  • Center speaker not working

Have just hooked up Creative SBS 560 - 5.1 speaker system. All the speakers working fine except the center speaker. I've plugged all the speakers into the center speaker jack and none of them work there. When plugged into their correct positions, they work fine. Any suggestions as to what to do to make the center speaker work. Thanks for any help.

What sound card are you using? If you are using Creative 5.1 sound card, try enabling the CMSS feature.

  • Apparently faulty new SBS 560 speakers: advice needed!

I'll appreciate any advice people can give me!
Last week, I bought a SBS 560 5.1 speaker system from an online retailer called Komplett. Having just moved into a new flat, I didn't get to test them until yesterday. When plugged in, and even when not connected to the PC, they make an alarming "humming" noise - most of this noise comes from the sub. Furthermore, whenever I turn them off, they make a brief "screeching" noise. Music played through them is a little distorted, and the humming appears to grow - after putting on a tune yesterday, I had to run back into the living room and turn the speakers off when I realised I could hear the "humming" noise from the other side of my flat.
A friend suggested that it's a problem with either the power supply or the sub. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Oh, one other thing - I'm based in the UK, and the speakers arrived with a Euro plug. Komplett provided an adaptor - just a simple plug head convertor. Is this an issue?
Thanks in advance for your time!
    James
Oh - one other thing. Adjusting the bass level at the back of the speaker does have an effect on the volume of the humming. Oddly, though, the level of noise is reduced at the highest setting, and is utterly intolerable at the lowest.

Yes, they specifically fix Nvidia 330m problem, they state that the only true solution is to remove old chipset with their brand new chipset that has been apparently released by Nvidia as an update for this issue, this is exactly what they say:
    What faults can we fix?
We can fix graphic/display issues relating to the 15" / 17" Nvidia 330M models in 2010 Models. These are fixed using the appropriate professional equipment.
Brand New Chipset Repair - (only option we recommend for Macbook Pro Nvidia Models) With this procedure we re-fit a Brand New Nvidia GPU Chipset reballed in leaded solder.
**** Special Offer - £10 off making the Brand New Chipset Repair £169 + Post! ****
They also provide photos of certain logic board (including photo of serial number) with old chip, chip removed and new chip installed as a proff.

  • Does iTunes 11 supports 5.1 Speakers?

Does iTunes 11 supports 5.1 Speakers? If yes which all speakers does it support and how to activate it on iTunes?I am able to play music in 5.1 surround mode using other players such as WMP 11, VLC, GOMP, WINAMP but when I play music using iTunes it only plays in stereo mode i.e. 2.1. The side / rear speakers do not give any output.
    Specs:
    Windows 7,
Gigabyte FX990-UD3 Motherboard with 7.1 audio on-board support using 6 3.5mm jack pins.
Creative SBS A520 5.1 speaker system.
    iTunes 11.1 installed.

I think you mean HandBrake. I use HandBrake and I know exactly what you're talking about. Unfortunately, sometimes HandBrake shows that there is CC available but when you rip it, the CC doesn't appear in iTunes. I notice that but there is no way around it. This only happens with newer releases (I'm positive you only see this issue in newer films). HandBrake needs to be updated to keep up with the newer encryption by DVDs. There is nothing we can do. Hope that this post answered your question.

  • Connecting 5.1 system to MacBook Pro

I have a SBS 560 5.1 speaker system which I wish to connect to my MacBook Pro. Does SKS know what cable/connections I need to accomplish this?
    Many thanks

    liveunlimited,
I'm not a MacBook Pro user but I don't think the notebook has inbuilt 5.1 capable soundcard. I believe the most you can get from it is stereo only. You can connect the green audio cable from the speaker system to the headphone jack on the notebook and that should get you some audio in stereo.

  • Center channel doesn't work

    Hi
I just purchased a CL SBS 580 5.1 speaker system and a SB Audigy SE sound card. The installation of the sound card was uneventful, and sounds do work. Mostly, anyway. I installed it with the 5.1 speaker settings. Then I proceeded to disable my integrated nVidia sound chip on the motherboard that was previously working as my sound device. First thing I noticed was that WinAmp only seems to use the front channels and the subwoofer. I don't know whether this is a bug or a feature. After noticing this I ran a diagnostic on the setup. In the channel test, all other channels sounded fine except the center channel, which was mute. I switched around the right rear and center channels, and discovered that the speaker itself works fine (in the diagnostic, anyway). But the center channel doesn't. No white noise with the 'noise' test, and no female voice with the 'channel' test.
Yes it's plugged in properly into the center channel on the sub, yes it's turned on and yes the volume is at an audible level, both on the speakers themselves and in the sound card volume control.
    Here is the diagnostics log:

1024 MB DDR 266 MHz RAM
    Asus A7N-266 Motherboard
    Windows XP Pro SP3
ATI Radeon 9200 SE 128MB video card

Ok, so now I tried to play a DVD movie with my DVD-drive. Before I got this new Audigy sound card and SBS 580 speakers, movies would run almost fine, as in the video and sound would be smooth unless there was a great deal of action occurring, in which case it would be slightly choppy. But now, the video seems to change pace, occasionally stopping entirely for a few seconds, then running again, but slowly, then running normal, then becoming choppy, stopping again, and so on. Also, the sound does the same, sounding almost normal one second and choppy the next. But the biggest deal is the fact that I don't hear any speech! I read somewhere that the center channel handles speech in video playback, and without it I can't hear any talking.
Is the subwoofers center channel broken and should I go get another set with the warranty, or whats the problem?

  • New speakers ( SBS 2.1 370 ): subwoofer humming and beating ?

    Hi,
I've just purchases new speakers (SBS 2.1 370 , subwoofer + 2 speakers) for my computer.
I'm afraid that either they're defective, or I've done something wrong (never having owned a subwoofer before)... the symptoms are:
    1. The subwoofer issues a non-stop humming noise (low electrical buzz), even when there's nothing playing on my computer, and even if all possible volume dials are turned as low as possible :
    - Dialing the volume all the way down, using the dial at the back of the subwoofer
    - Dialing the volume all the way down, using the dial near the speaker's power button
    - Using Windows "volume control", setting it to "mute".
None of these helps - the buzzing continues... only way to stop it is to completely shut off the *power* to the speakers (turning the power switch off , or disconnecting the cable).
    2. In addition, whenever some atcual sound is played on my computer, the subwoofer would issue occasional bass beats (kind of "drum beats"), -2 beats per second. Those beats are irregular, and are not related to the sound file being played (it would occur even when playing a recording of someone speaking quietly with no background music).
BTW I have Pentium 4, Windows XP Home (Service Pack 2), not sure what the sound card is, but it's some interl on-board, and it came with SoundMAX.
    Thanks very much

I have the exact same problem with 550D Megaworks speakers. Just started around the time when i spilled a drink on my remote.

  • Lost cd for sbs 2.1 370

hello...i lost my cd for my creative sbs 2.1 370....can anyone tell me where i can download it's?

For speakers you don't normally have to install any files, the speakers just connect to your soundcard. Make sure the soundcard or onboard audio is installed correctly, as that will be feeding the audio to your speakers, if the soundcard doesn't work correctly then the speakers won't be able to do much.

  • Creative Labs SBS 560 Stereo Speaker Set

Hi, I'm planning on buying the , saw it here:
    http://www.hcw.be/hcwcs/p.asp?mscssid=&p=F793&d=L#ld
My question is, does this speaker system uses the headphone jack to connect?
    example:
    http://www.cewindows.net/reviews/032005.JPG
Because I have a 2.1 speaker system, and I can connect this to my xga-box (little machine to connect my gamecube or xbox to my monitor)
    http://www.futuremax.nl/images/xb/bg/650.jpg
(I put the cable from my 2.1 system in the side)
And I need to know if I a) Can connect this 5.1 system to my xga-box
    b) Will have sound through all the speakers, including the
    subwoofer?
    Any advice would be appreciated

    Bruuss,
Any of the Creative soundcard that's advertised as supporting 5.1 speaker system or higher is compatible with the SBS 560 and yes, the Audigy 2 ZS is compatible with the SBS 560.
As for connecting two output device, you can get a stereo splitter adaptor so both the speaker and headphone can share the audio output jack.
