Scanning an ean code

Hello
I am trying to make a voting application . When I scan an EAN
code the action I want to execute is an gotoAndStop action.
The question is how do a make a listner for the scanning job
?

I exactly have the same issue. Can you share the user exit to be used for that issue.
Is it only applicable for RF transaction or can you use it for e.g. a packing transaction where you attach a barcode scanner to your pc on a normal SAP GUI transaction?

To restrict End user to enter EAN code manually

In Premargin check when we go for Bar code scanning, the EAN code field appears in editable mode. After scanning an article that field gets the EAN code automatically from database table for that particular article. But one can modify that ean code as it appears in editable mode. I want to make that field to appear in grey mode so that end user can not enter ean code manually and if i scan an article this field gets the ean code from master data.
How can i restrict end user to enter the EAN code manually in the EAN code field.

Thanks for your reply but i have tried this option also. Let me explain you about the scenario.
In UI screen there is a field EAN code. It can be filled either by scanner or an end user can feed the data on his own without scanning the article.
What i want is to make this happen only by scanning not by manual entry.
Whenever an article is scanned its EAN code automatically should come in that field.
I have made the field in grey mode but while scanning it is not picking the EAN code of that article and throwing an error message as "EAN code field can not be left blank". When I am making that field in editable mode then it is able to pick the EAN code after scanning.

Scanning a bar code

I have a curve 9300 and I am unable to scan a bar code and 9 times out of 10 it causes my phone to freeze and I have to remove the battery is it a problem with the software or with the phone its self

EAN codes to be matched automatically

I have a scenario where I want the EAN codes 16 digit in the IDOC automatically picking up SAP code and creating the order inbound.
Somehow its not happening. I keep getting a message description of Item is missing, I maintain the text descrption in E1EDP01 and yet cant get rid of the error.
I am mainatining the EAN code in the material maste and expect the SAP code to automatically determined when I am creating the order.
Unfortunately this is not working.
Pleaase advice.

Goto UPSPM, open the planning folder in edit mode, right click on the function button, goto function attributes, and check "Execute function when saving". Make sure that the function button is in the global planning function section of the planning folder. This setting will make the button invisible and runs as soon as the user clicks on save button.

How can you scan the Source Code of a bunch of function modules

We are in a 46C system. I need to be able to scan the soruce code of a bunch of function modules. I was unable to use the RPR_ABAP_SOURCE_SCAN and return the lines with the string I was searching for.

Hi,
Read the main program that is the funtion pool into an internal table with statement.
READ REPORT
Use the key-word
SCAN ABAP-SOURCE
You can use the addition with includes as the function pool contains only include programs the with includes addition will read the source code present in the include.
Like this you can achieve it

itab TYPE TABLE OF char255,
itab1 TYPE TABLE OF stoken,
itab2 TYPE TABLE OF sstmnt.
READ REPORT 'SAPLSFES' INTO itab.
SCAN ABAP-SOURCE itab TOKENS INTO itab1

WITH INCLUDES.
after this you can search the string in the internal table with lots of additions available in the SCAN ABAP_SOURCE

Retail - EAN codes - Purchase 3 articles - sell 1 article to Stores

Hi out there
Could any body guide me in the right direction?
Retail:
A vendor delivers :
3 articles (all fish, but in different size boxes)
3 different EAN numbers.
The product is sold to the Stores as one article, because the fish is sold pr. kilo
The settings in the system does not allow the same EAN assignment to different articles.
Can the use of additional EAN be used, and if so how???
Hope to be able to solve this without allowing multiple EAN assignment to be able to get the Moving average correct for the product sold to the Stores

The PLU code being used in the Store for weighing the fish is in some way to be connected to the articles procured from the vendor. There are several artilces that are sold on the same PLU code in the Store.
It's the connection to the PLU sold in the store and all the articles you buy from the vendor .
We have tries to use additional EAN's to add these to the PLU article, but the system will not allow the PLU code (or EAN code)to be used on more than one article
Not easy to explain, but ....
You buy articles from the vendor:
"Article 1" with it's own EAN code
"Article 2" with it's own EAN code
"Article 3" with it's own EAN code
These articles are sold to the Store as "article 4" with a PLU code that is identified when the fish is being weigh in the store
Is there a solution for this besides changing the message code Message no. M3348 to a warning message insted of error message?

Hi,
Most of the organizations don't use EAN/UPC and material number combination.
Though if you are using EAN/UPC then perhaps you can select material number from table MARA for EAN/UPC number (EAN11 field).
And use it in BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE.

Removal of EAN code / update problem in ECC

Hi,
I have a problem regarding EAN codes within MDM. If a material is created within MDM and a EAN code assigned to the material and the records is syndicated to ECC it all works fine.
Now later we find out that the EAN code is to be removed and left blank. When syndicating this change to ECC the material is not updated.
It works fine when changing the EAN code but not when removing the EAN code.
If you do it manually within ECC you get a warning and then the EAN code is removed. I know you also have to mark a main EAN code within the additional data -> Additional EANs and ECC assigns this automatically if you change EAN codes and automatically removes this when removing the EAN code.
What is needed to syndicate a removal of EAN code to ECC from MDM?

You can configure automatic check digit algorithm for EAN/UPC category using transaction W4ES. You have the following choices:
1 Standard EAN check digit algorithm
2 Check digit alg. for fresh produce EANs with indl art. no.
3 Check digit algorithm for fresh produce EANs with SAN
4 Ck digit alg. for fresh produce EANs w/ indl art. no. 5-fig.
5 Ck digit algorithm for FP EANs with SAN + trading unit digit
6 Check digit algorithm for UPC version E (UPC contraction)

Problems getting UPC/EAN codes to write in the mastering notes

I'm pretty sure this is simple pilot error, as I don't use Waveburner on a regular basis, but...
I was letting a friend who had to turn in some masters to a label use waveburner, as his system was temporarily down. He was given the UPC/EAN codes to enter onto each CD he had to burn (7 songs on each), and when we saved the mastering notes as a PDF file, it kept saying "none" where the UPC code was to go (on the mastering notes).
I did get it to save and print on 2 CD's, but 5 I could not. I admittedly have no idea why it was so inconsistent, but attributed it to my missing something simple. The manual had very little to say about this.
Has anyone else run into this? What am I doing wrong?

I too have complained about Datasocket error codes, messages, lack of ds browser, etc. NI said that they will hopefully have some inproved ds information in 6.1

Ean code automatically in MM02

Hello,
I tried to implement the user exit EXIT_SAPLMGMU_001 to create a new ean code automatically when press the save button in material transaction MM02.
I filled the table SMEAN_ME_TAB with new ean codes, but when the execution of save in the MM02 finalize, the new values I introduce don't appear in master material.
I don't know if this user exit I can do it, or I need a Badi,which one?. In the case I need a badi to do it, where can call it?. in the same user exit?

I've not used it but as per interface document and BADI document, it can be used for create as well change. I think you will have to try it out.
When a material master record is created or extended in the standard R/3 System, default data is essentially determined from Customizing tables and from a reference material (if one has been specified).

EAN code with 25 characters - HIBC Supplier Labeling

Hello,
My client is requiring to populate the EAN code in the material master data (Basic data1 view) with 25 characters.
But, the EAN/UPC field (MARA-EAN11) is only allowing 18 characters.
Then, he sent me the table where the 25 char are required for the HIBC Supplier Labeling:
+     1     F     HIBC Supplier Labeling Flag Character u201C+u201D
I     4     F     Labeler Identification Code (LIC) an alphanumeric number
P     1-18     V     Labelers Product or Catalog Number (PCN).
U     1     F     Unit of Measure ID, Numeric value only, 0 through 9
C     1     F     Check Character calculated
I suppose that the Catalog Number (PCN) is the EAN/UPC field, but, where can be populated the rest of the fields showed above?
Could you help me in order to understand more about EAN code in SAP?

EAN Code

Hallo, can somebody help me? I like to program a new software. This software should read EAN codes from a scanner. If somebody know, where I can find a library about this or how I program this class, please write back.

Your scanner will either pretend to be a keyboard, or it will have a serial port interface. In either case the scanner is what understands EAN, and it will translate the barcode image into the numbers it represents. Your software just has to read from the keyboard, or the serial port, whichever it is. Look at the documentation for the scanner to find out.

EAN code problem

Recently I have found out strange problem on the EAN code. Some of materials have been assigned a EAN category with Internal number range, but their EAN code numbers are fall into other External number range.
Could anyone please tell me why this happen?! why system allows this happen?
