  • Fasten the Process of MDT UDI OD Installation in SCCM 2012 R2 OSD

    Hi,
I have implemented MDT UDI Task Sequence in SCCM 2012 R2 OSD. The issue  which I am facing is the UDI Installation progress is very slow. it is taking around 2 hours to complete the whole Installation.
Is there any way to fasten the Process of MDT UDI OD Installation in SCCM 2012 R2 OSD.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sanjay Dubey

Application installs can take awhile - it depends on what applications you're installing, and how many.  For instance, installing Office is clearly going to take longer than say 7-Zip.  How many applications are you installing during a normal OS
deployment?  You can check the AppEnforce.log to see how long an application(s) is taking to install, as the start and end times are recorded.
As for the MDT Settings package, how many times are you calling this package?  My task sequence only calls it 5 times, and one of them is before you even get the UDI wizard, while the second and third is an either/or situation, depending on whether
you do a refresh or a fresh PC build.

  • Adobe Story free application install problem

I have been using Adobe Story Free version for a year but with the most recent automatic update (Dec 2012) the desktop application will not open. Upon clicking the icon for Adobe Story it attempts to take an update but stops with the following message:
" Sorry, an error has occurred. This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance."
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Sandeep,  Thank you! Adobe Story is okay now.

  • How to find using SQL query application deployed on win 7 machines with SCCM 2012 server or user installed manually.

    Hi,
how to find using SCCM SQL query,  application deployed on win 7 machines with SCCM 2012 server or user/technician installed manually. Please let me know.

Thanks, is it not possible via any script also?
Like Torsten said, how can you tell the difference between CM12 installed applications and locally installed? Once you can answer that, then you can write report.

  • SCCM 2012 SP1 fails to install OSD of Captured Image

I installed Windows Server 2012, Visual Studio Pro 2008, 2010, 2012 and SQL Server 2012 onto a machine. Configured the settings on Windows Server 2012 and SQL 2012 to how the Developers requested to be configured. Ran the Capture Media from SCCM 2012 SP1,
saved to the designated network share. Capture was successful.
I create a TS to deploy the image to the other Dev Servers but it reboots to say no valid operating system found. I checked Monitoring for the Deployment I see the Task sequence but has the following error: Device - Unknown, MessageID - 11170, Description
    - The task sequence manager could not successfully complete execution of the task sequence.
I see in the Apply Operation System from a captured image shows 1-1, 2-2, or 3-3. Does it matter which one I select and if so what does the numbers mean?
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!!

    Hi Blacksuit,
Those numbers of the captured image stand for the indexes that are part of your WIM.  And yes, it does matter which one you select.  In the ConfigMgr console, go to your Software Library > Operating Systems > Operating System Images and select
the image you imported into ConfigMgr.  Then at the bottom, click the Details tab to display your indexes.  The index that contains your OS will have an OS Version and a description.  The other indexes will be data images and not contain any
information in the Details tab.  You'll need to choose the index (number) that contains the OS for the Apply OS step.  To apply the data image indexes, use the Apply Data Image task sequence step and specify the partitions to apply the images
too before the Apply OS step.
    Good luck!

  • SCCM 2012 Software Updates not installing (bothh Windows patches & 3rd party updates)

Using SCCM 2012 R2, I am having a problem getting Windows updates to install.  Applications published to people work, and basic software installations published to machines for a straight install work.  However, both Windows patches and Adobe patches
fail to install on clients. I have imported the Adobe catalog into SCUP, and publish through WSUS. I can see the Adobe patches and Windows patches in SCCM, and can publish them. However, in deployment status out of 4 machines in my test group the Windows patches
installed on 1 and the other 3 are still in Unknown status with category of "Client check passed/Active". However, none of them are installing the patch - they don't even seem to try.  All of those are Windows 7 PCs, incidentally. On Adobe patches,
one PC fails and the other 3 machines still sit in Unknown status.  Certificates are distributed,
Any ideas what might cause the deployment to not push some targets, even when it's past the deadline?
    Thanks,
    Andy Maslin

An unknown status means that the clients are not reporting back to ConfigMgr correctly. This is often due to the WUA not pointing at the correct WSUS instance. You can verify this by examining the WUAHandler.log on one of those clients and it will clearly
indicate an issue with this which in turn is often due to a group policy overriding the ConfigMgr behavior.

Here is the complete smsts.log: http://1drv.ms/1pwTEBf
To explain the Problem in Detail:
The SCCM Primary Site Server and the Clients are in different trusted (bidirectional) forests!
Everythings working fine in this Scenario, I can install SCCM Agent on the Clients with Manual ccmsetup and with Client Push Installation. Additionally i can deploy Software Updates and so on... only OSD is crashing in the releaserequest step.
During my Tasksequence new Clients are joined to Domain A while SCCM Primary Site Server is installed in Domain B
If I change my TS and let the Clients also join Domain B everything works without any Problems and the Tasksequence finish without any Errors.
My Problem must be related to the different Domains and the forest trust.
    My Setup:
MP published to DNS in both domains
    Schema Extended in both domains
System Management Container published and verified in both domains
ccmsetup Parameters in TS: ccmsetup SMSMP=sccm.domain.b FSP=sccm.domain.b DNSSUFFIX=Domain.b
Network Access account configured with Domain B account
Domain Join account has create Computer rights on the OU in Domain A (Domain join is successful)
DNs conditional forwarders configured in both Domains and DNS resolutin is working in both directions
    Any suggestions?
    Many thanks.
    regards,
    Christian

    Hi Christian,
So do you actual get an error message in your TS or is it just failing to join Domain B?  (Could be both if the machines fails to join the domain).
Can you review netsetup.log on the machines after the issue and see what error message you might be getting during the domain join process?
Also, if it a domain join issue, can you try manually joining to domain B using the same service account?

  • SCCM 2012 CU2: Download application stay at 0%

    Hi,
Since a few days, I'm no more able to install a new packaged application. The older packages are still working and I can install it correctly.
When I try to install a new package on a client from the software center the download stay at 0%.
In the following log I found that:
    DataTransferService.log:
    [CCMHTTP] ERROR: URL=<my_server>:80/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/Content_a0639914-557d-47dd-8ab5-3578e9cae125.1, Port=80, Options=224, Code=0, Text=CCM_E_BAD_HTTP_STATUS_CODE
Successfully sent location services HTTP failure message.
Error sending DAV request. HTTP code 404, status 'Not Found'
    GetDirectoryList_HTTP('http://<my_server>:80/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/Content_a0639914-557d-47dd-8ab5-3578e9cae125.1') failed with code 0x87d0027e.
I use SCCM 2012 R2 CU2 on windows 2008 R2. In the monitoring tab, I see that the package has been correctly distributed and deployed. I try to redistributed the application but nothing change.
When I open the URL from the log in firefox, I also got the 404 error (http://<my_server>:80/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/Content_a0639914-557d-47dd-8ab5-3578e9cae125.1)
My DP is configured in HTTP and I allow the client to connect anonymously.
My Boundaries typs is "Active Directory Site"
I try to rest IIS with the command "IISRESET"
The services "IIS admin Service" and "World Wide Web Publishing Service" are started.
The Physical path of the "SMS_DP_SMSPKG$" is also correct.
I verified that the files are correctly copied on the DP after the distribution.
I read a lot of blog about this king of problem but nothing help, any suggestion to resolve the problem?
    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi Joyce,
Thanks for the reply. I don't find any error on the ISS log. The only one thing that I found and that I dont understnd is:
    "<ip_server> PROPFIND /SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/Content_a0639914-557d-47dd-8ab5-3578e9cae125.1 - 80 - <client_ip> SMS+CCM+5.0 404 0 0 1402 3"
I try to redistribute and and validate it. For SCCM everything is ok but it still not working and I got the same error in "Datatransferservice.log". In "distmgr.log" there's no error.

  • Client Install Issue - SCCM 2012 R2 - Manual Deploy Installed ok

Hello, I have sccm 2012 configured with 2,000 machine approx. It is been used mainly as a Software Deployment tool for now. On checking a recent IE10 upgrade, I noticed that there is a number of machines that do not have the client installed (and thus did
not upgrade IE). I picked 1 machine, searched in SCCM - had no client. I checked all relevant settings:
Boundary for Client in question - ok
Local Client Settings (ip,dns,no firewall, ping sccm ok and vice versa etc).
Once i right clicked to deploy the client, it installed no problem. I checked the ccmsetup log file and the only info it had was from the time that the client was manually deployed (I will attach the log below anyway). I am really puzzled as to why the client
did not install and if this is the issue why IE is not upgrading (it is hard to pinpoint as there are 250 sites approx). The automatic install task works no problem on other machines once the machine goes online.
Any help, would be great. Here is the log (I am fairly new to SCCM btw):

We have a SCCM 2012 R2 CU 2, single site. We would like to deploy the distribution point at 1 of the branch but hit with issues.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 - Updates not installing

    Hi all,
I have a SCCM 2012 R2 setup at a customer which has problems with distributing updates to the Windows 7 computers in the environment. The update group (with updates that are 100% sure required) is deployed to some test computers but the updates don't get
installed. It is also configured to be able to install the updates without looking at any maintenance windows.  I see in the reporting that the updates are required, so in my opinion they should get installed.
I've checked the registry and the Windows Updates registry keys are pointing towards the right server (my SCCM primary site server). I've created a new software update group with fewer updates, same problem.
What I find in the UpdatesDeployment.log on one of the test machines is rather strange:

The SERVICEWINDOWEVENT events originate from the business hours set in the client settings I suppose?
But I don't get why the log sais "No current service window available to run updates assignment with time required = 1"
    Any advice?

  • SCCM 2012 R2 MDT 2013 Install Features after OS Install

I have a question in regards to installing Features on Windows Servers Post OS Install/OSD.
I have MDT 2013 integrated with SCCM 2012 R2. I have created a MDT TS doing the following:
Microsoft Deployment Custom Task Sequence (All other ones were for OSD)
I removed all the steps in the TS except for the "Use Toolkit Package"
Added Several MDT Sequence for Install Roles and Features, Selected SNMP for Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2008 R2 Core, 2012, 2012 R2.
Removed the boot image since it is not needed.
    Deployed to my Test Collection.
I see the TS Running on the test servers but when I check Server Manager the SNMP is still not installed even though software center shows installed on the TS.
Am I missing something here? Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!!

Disregard my previous post. I was tinkering with the Compliance Settings and corrected my ignorance.
    Here were my steps:
    Create Configuration Item
General: Put the name, Set Type to Window, filter set to "Server"
Supported Platforms: All servers 2008 and newer
    Settings: Name,
    Discovery Script -PowerShell
    $FeatureName = "SNMP-Service"
    If (Get-WindowsFeature | Where {$_.State -eq "Enabled" -and $_.FeatureName -eq $FeatureName})
        $Compliance = "Compliant"
    Else {
        $Compliance = "NonCompliant"
    Return $Compliance
    Remediation Script - PowerShell
    $FeatureName = "SNMP-Service"
    Import-Module ServerManager
    Install-WindowsFeature -Name $FeatureName -IncludeAllSubFeature
Compliance Rule: Name, Rule Type = Value, Must Comply Equals Compliant, Checked Run remediation script when not compliant, set Reports to Information
Created Config Baseline, Assigned Config Item for SNMP Service and then deployed to my Servers.

Hope someone can assist me. I have a SCCM 2012 R2 Primary server on Windows 2012 and installed some site Servers with DP's and MP's installed on Windows 2008.

  • Latitude E6330 BSOD via SCCM 2012 R2 OSD

    Hi All,
I'm currently struggling to build some Latitude E6330 laptops via SCCM 2012 R2 CU3 OSD . I'm getting a BSOD with error code 0000007E after the drivers are applied and the laptop reboots.
I've built nearly 100 OptiPlex desktops without issue from the same server. I've tried both the A09 and A10 E6330 driver CABs, and both have the same issue. I was having an issue even building the boot image with these drivers, but removed a faulty driver
before importing them into SCCM (Conexant USB Modem driver) which resolved that issue. I'm assuming that the removal of this driver wouldn't be causing the BSOD - but I'm currently trying to find a replacement driver to see if that resolves it anyway.
I've tried using 'Auto Apply Drivers' and 'Apply Driver Package' in the task sequence, using a WMI query and also without a WMI query to no avail. I've blown away all previous drivers, imported only the A09 and then blew away + imported only the A10
drivers, rebuilt the driver packages and re-added to the boot image numerous times. Yep I've been distributing/updating distribution points each time too :)
Unfortunately I can't get onto the laptop to check the smsts/setupact/etc etc logs because it blue screens even in safe mode.
My last resort will be to add just the network+HDD drivers, and then slowly add drivers until I figure out what driver is causing the BSOD. Unfortunately this would be quite a lengthy procedure, so I'm hoping that someone has had a similar problem and
may know which driver could be causing me this grief.. Or perhaps could point me in a different direction as to what may be causing this issue....
    Thanks for your time.

Are you trying to deploying Windows 7 to the laptops?
If so does your WIM file include the platform update (how long has it been since you created / updated it)? If not then you may need to update / capture a new wim and try again.
A lot of newer drivers will cause this sort of problem if you try and inject them into an older wim file.
If this isn't the case, then I have had this happen to me a long time ago with a webcam driver so maybe exclude these drivers first? A long shot though.
    Cheers

  • SCCm 2012 R2 - OSD fails when multiple computers are getting built

    Hi everyone,
I ran into a weird issue with my SCCM 2012 R2. I noticed when I build one computer with SCCM OSD, it works fine. But when I try to run more than one built at a time, only one usually works. The rest usually doesn't get apps installed in the task sequence,
some don't get added to the domain etc. Any idea what it might be? Could it be that simultaneous connections to the distribution point are getting terminated and imaging fails?
    Appreciate your help!

Ok guys, this seems to be a false alarm here. It turns out I was missing a driver for ethernet card on my Dell T1600. I kicked off 3 Dell Optiplex 9020 and they all worked flawlessly. This is weird though, since I did install OS on some T1600 before and
    they all worked fine...
Anyway, I downloaded the driver and added it to SCCM. I will kick off the install again today and see if that solved it.
