To find the BAPI, there is no easy way. Either you know it from some documentation, or you try to find it yourself based on its name (i often use wildcards to see what is available and then test the function module to see if it is the one i need or not). The other option is debugging
For the 2nd possibility, try reading the documentation available there:

It should help you understanding the concepts.

  • Travel Time Calculation in CRM 2007 Resource Planning Application

    Dear all
we are using CRM 2007 RPA to schedule Service Technicians to Service Demands and also want to use the "Schedule" button to automatically have the system create Service Arrangements. We do use WFM Core and not any external tools.
The problem we are having is related to calculating travel time: the system automatically would line-up service arrangement after service arrangement without any time in between. We wonder how we could include travel times or other expected "in-between" times (e.g. customer specific delays) into the scheduling functionality.
Further, if we have the system propose resources for a demand, there is a column "distance" which says "n/a" in all cases - we wonder how we could (without using 3rd party tools), populate this field - and on what basis.
Thank you very much in advance and best regards

  • Bounce Management in SAP CRM 2007

    Hi Experts,
we have SAP CRM 2007 and I have a few questions about Bounce Management.
It is a very simple scenario, so it´s fine if only hard bounces for incoming EMails are handled.
    1) Do you need ERMS for that simple form of Bounce Mgt?
    2) Is the Usage of Inetraction Center required? (We do not want to)
    3) Is it possible/recommended to create Activities out of incoming bounces?
    4) Can you segment on Bounces, not only within the Campaign Automation?
    5) What ist the effort/set up to use Bounce Mgt in that simple scenario about?
    Thanks a lot
    Florian

Yes, I was mentioning SAP Note 897730. The major pre-requisite mentioned there is Event linkage settings through SWETYPV transaction and in your case you just need to do the Rule Modeler settings. If you are using DEFAULT policy you do not need to do anything in Service Manager Profile.
    The note pre-requisites mentioned are
The required services and service manager profiles for using the E-Mail Response Management System (ERMS) are defined: All entries necessary for bounce management are delivered in the default Customizing. As I mentioned before Service Manager Profile: Bounce is already defined and you are going to use that profile. The required service in your case would be "Bounce Data Update" or one of the 5 standard service mentioned in this note. These are already defined and taken care of in standard configurations. Therefore, you do not need to do anything over there.
Please do the above two settings and if you have any issues please come back to me. I am sure you won't have any issues with the requirements that you mentioned. I just took one hour to set up hard bounce scenario. Only if you are planning to use services that are not standard it becomes slightly tricky. In our case major issue was that there was an error in the standard workflow. I did not know much about Workflow bindings etc. before, but then I had to dig deep into this and it gave me an opportunity to learn workflows. This was the good thing that came out of all this.
    Regards,
    Deepak
Please note you will have to do the Event Linkage settings in SWETYPV transaction.

  • CRM 2007 upgrade roadmaps

    Hello there,
We are planning to upgrade from CRM 4.0 SP7 (on WAS 6.20) to CRM 2007 later in the year. Before this, it is desired to start using the CRM Web Shop (E-Commerce with CRM), which is not in use yet.
What's the popular opinion on here: upgrade CRM first and then tackle the Online Store - or is there any reason not to implement the Online Store first, ie before upgrading. In other words, how easy is it to migrate a CRM 4.0 Online Store to a CRM 2007 Online Store later on ?
Also, is there any material available regarding upgrade roadmaps? I don't mean release documentation, but a guide that picks you up on your current CRM/ERP release / Netweaver platform and then tells you which options you have for upgrading.
    Kind regards,

Thanks for your helpful answer, Andrew.
I think the web shop scenario we're after would be B2B - any infos on changes and implications for this?
Also, what do you mean by "direct technical upgrade"? I know that minimum requirement for CRM 2007 is NW 2004s (7.0), is that what you mean?

  • Sap CRM 2007 Security related issue

    Hi All,
I am working on SAP CRM 2007 security.
I have scenario, which we are trying to fix.
There are two users A and B.
A is assigned to role X
B is assigned to role y
Business Partner 123 is created for user A
Business Partner 456 is created for user B
These Business Partners are assigned to Authorization Groups.
    See below:
1)Authorization Group (LK01) is assigned to Business Partner --123.
    2) Authorization Group (LK02) is assigned to Business Partner --456
    3) Authorization groups LK01 is assigin to user A in PFCG role X
    4) Authorization groups LK02 is assigin to user B in PFCG role Y
    a) User A assigned with PFCG role X>Authorization Group (LK01)>BP 123.
    b) User B assigned with PFCG role Y>Authorization Group (LK02)>BP 456.
    Note:
    1) Authorization Groups are assigned to BPs under the Control tab.
    2) These Auth Groups are assigned in Authorization Object in PFCG role.
Now, USER 'A' should not be able to work under the BP 456 as this BP is assigned to authorization group LK02.
The issue is when we open the WEB UI and login with user A role X, He can search for the BP 456 assigned to Auth Group LK02.
User A can open the Interaction History and edit the Service Order created using the BP 456.
He can Edit the following in Service Order details:
    1) General Data Status (from created to complete), Contact person, Sale Rep name.
    2) Organization Data like Sales Office, Sales Org Unit, Distribution Channel
    3) Business Partner.
However, one good thing is he cannot edit the Account details like Account ID, House No, Employee Resposible, the message he get is "No authorization to change partner with authorization group"  which is a
    good thing.
I have tried to be precise, please let me know if you require more information.
    Regards,
    Dave.

    I suggest the following:
Please, check whether the system works if you activate the implementation BUPA_F4_AUGRP.
In addition check the notes 559662, 674869 and 782927. Maybe the notes are already implemented but you can try then the implementation of the BADI (SE19). It should resolve your issue.
I have implemented this Badi solution before, and after activation; the search help ; nor search result list did NOT show any Business partners anymore that had an authorization group I was not allowed to see.

  • FAQ: User Interface Guidelines for CRM 2007 are now available

The CRM UI Concept Team has made the UI Guidelines for CRM Web Client User Interface (CRM 2007 UI) available to the BPX community:
This document provides an overview of the on-premise as well as the off-premise versions of the SAP CRM Web Client User Interface (UI). It contains the properties and principles of the SAP CRM Web Client UI that are already committed and available. For planned features, refer to the corresponding specification documents.
The information in the guidelines starts with general topics, followed by details. The sections are organized with high-level topics like Page Types and Navigation Schema first, followed by the consecutive sections describing which building blocks and elements of the UI populate the various pages. A section typically starts with one or more screenshots of a central UI element with a generic explanation. The subsequent sections explain the detailed aspects of each element.

  • How to add new fields to CRM 2007 Web UI

    Hi,
I am new to SAP CRM 2007 and I am interested in how to extend the Web UI, for example adding new fields, to meet the customer requirements. Should I use the EEW or is there another "new and easier" way?
    Thanx & best regards,
    Oliver
Edited by: Oliver Pregler on Jan 30, 2008 5:50 PM

Actually for the new IC webclient UI you have need to take a look at your options:
    1.  New Installation:
Use the EEWB and add the fields.  As part of the EEWB work, you will have a couple of post-processing steps where you will add your generated fields to the new screens.  However this doesn't require any programming.
    2.  Upgrade from CRM 4.0/50
    - New fields to add as part of upgrade
See the directions for new installation
    - Existing fields to add as part of upgrade
--See the blog on the 40/52 CUSTOMER_H migration for transaction fields
--Business Partner fields part of BUT000 available via UI configuration tool, no extra work needed
--Business Partner fields part of tabular extension, manual work required, I am still "perfecting" this method and plan on writing a blog once I have the technique finished.
--Product Attributes - use the transaction CRMM_UI_PROD_GEN and CRMM_UIU_PROD_CONFIG
I know CRM 2007 is based on the same tech foundation as 2006s, with some differences in how the UI tool works and the fact there are some screen layout changes(editable overviews).  The extension procedures are generally the same.  I can answer some of you extension questions based on my work with CRM 52 so far.  It will generally apply to your situation.
BTW:  The PCUI is no longer supported in CRM 2006s and above.  Even the old SAP GUI transactions such as BP, COMM_PRODUCT are removed from the standard CRM menu.   The SAP CRM web client should be used instead now.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • Work flow in CRM 2007

    Hi,
I want to implement some work flow related activities in CRM 2007. Can I implement this using Guided Procedures in CAF or workflow ? Which is the better way? pls suggest..
    Regards,
    Ajay

    Ajay,
Your question is a little vague as you don't have a business scenario for your workflow related requirements.
I will say that if the workflow process does not involve switching out of CRM and only involves steps in CRM, then traditional workflow will work fine.  If you need to do something where the steps involve multiple systems then guided procedures would be a better solution.
Perhaps if you share more of your scenario you will get some better ideas on how to go about it.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • CRM 4.0 IC webclient to CRM 2007

    Hi
Currently we are on CRM 4.0 using IC Webclient for our call centre. Around 30% of development done in BOL layer programming to suit the business requirements.
Now we are planning to upgrade to CRM 7.0 with IC Webclient
Can anybody help us in providing information and precautionary measures to be considered for upgrade.
    Regards
    Satish Kumar

    Hi,
just wanted to stress that even than BOL/ genIL is still compatible it has been significantly increased especially around the advanced and saved searches and some more new features like a generic "text-for-key" support service to facilitate UI development.
The biggest change however that you might experience in the BOL layer is, however, the complete BOL support of all CRM objects including all sub objects, relations and attributes. So the enhancements that you have done in your 4.0 project might not even be necessary anymore unless you've introduced completely new objects. Also fields you added via EEW will be available in the respective BOL objects without manual code effort.
On the UI layer itself you have to be aware that even though the whole CRM 2007 UI is based on the same UI framework as CRM 4.0 IC WebClient, this framweork has been significantly enhanced and supports now also concepts as components (to organize, structure and manage different areas of the CRM application), reuse via components and windows etc. Also there are two new sets of tags: THTMLB (Low level UI controls such as input fields, tables and trees) and CHTMLB. The latter one contains eta tags for configuable views that allow the adjustment of views via the configuration tool, which allows defining fields and arrangement on a form or a table as well as re-labelling.
Also the toolset in general has been heavily enhanced and there's also the concept of modification-free enhancements on the UI layer based on inheritance.
The upgrade will be "technical" meaning that all your stuff will survive but due to the componentization of the UI framework will not run out of the box in the new environment. You will have to "re-do" investments you've done on the UI side - however this should be much easier compared to 4.0 due to configurability of the UI and the improved toolset.
I hope this information helps to get an idea what you can expect.

  • CRM 2007 and Custom ISA 4.0 application interoperability

    Hi,
We are in the process to upgrade our CRM 4.0 back end system to CRM 2007, in fact we already performed the BASIS upgrade in our sandbox system to estimate the effort required for the upgrade on different areas.
One of this areas is related with the ISA web application, we have a custom ISA 4.0 application that we use to capture business transaction in our CRM system, but this application is running in a separate NetWeaver 7.0 system on the DMZ, we would like to know if it is possible to integration of the old ISA 4.0 with the new CRM 6.0 (CRM 2007) backend system.
The reasoning to try to leave the CRM ISA application on 4.0 is because we are using it just to provide us the framework to create transaction in CRM, in fact we only create one type of transaction in the CRM system from this web application and the effort to upgrade the java application to the new version together with the support package stack could be very high for a application that is not very heavily used.
In summary, the question is if it is architecturally feasible to connect a CRM ISA 4.0 web application with a CRM 6.0 (CRM 2007) backend system?
Thanks for your help with this,
    Zareh Vazquez

    Hi Zareh
Firstly I can advise that ISA 4.0 Is not compatible with CRM 2007.
One of the biggest issues that you will encounter if you attempt this
is the compatibility of the ISA application with
the Internet Explorer 7 and Mozilla Firefox 2 browsers.
In ISA 4.0 even if you can get it to work with CRM 2007 these browsers are
not supported and no workaround is currently available or planned to address this.
This compatibility has only been address in the later versions of ISA 5.0
As these browsers versions are now becoming more commonly used
I think that this will be important for your consideration.
Please review the following notes which discuss such issues.
244869 Problems with the display in Internet Explorer 7.0
    064439 Browser-specific stylesheets for Firefox and IE7
I hope that this will be of assistance.
    Warm regards.
    Peter
