Scheduled report is empty (no data)

Hello,
We just migrated to BO XIr2 so I am new and I am trying to schedule a very simple report in web-intelligence.
It has 1 prompt.
After schedule there is indeed an new instance of the report but it is empty
refresh manually works fine.
what went wrong?
any ideas?
Lia

I don't think it is too complicated, just more info to leat the way to finding to what possibly could be wrong would help.
The sope of the problem is wide and narrowing it down would make it easier..
- There could be an issue with the migration process.
- There could be an issue with the XI server installation or something.
- The issue could be with the specific report..
Who know's it could be anyting... or something very simple.

  • How to schedule report filtered by dynamic date based on the date the Agent runs

    Hello
I have a question about delivering report using OBIEE agent.
If i am running an agent today to deliver report A, can I get report A based on Last Monday's date or any dynamic dates?
For example, say today is Dec 18th 2013 and my agent is running according to how I set the schedule. Now the deliver content will have report A being delivered. Now report A has a date column, normally this column is filtered by current date. But if it's delivered through agents to various users, Report A's data should be the previous Monday, so in this case Dec 9th 2013. When this agent is run again said on Dec 27th 2013, then report A should be filtered by Dec 16th 2013, which is the previous monday of Dec 27th.
Can something like this be achieved in OBIEE 11G?
    Thanks in advance.

    Yala,
    Not a straight forward way
    1) Let the report run through Agent with Current Date filter
    2) once it ran for the first time you can see IBOT name/last run time(LAST_RUNTIME_TS) in  S_NQ_JOB
Create a repository variable 'last_run_agent' using below sql to get max(LAST_RUNTIME_TS)
    select max(LAST_RUNTIME_TS) from s_nq_job where name = 'AGENT_NAME';
Edit the analysis report with current date filter and modify the filter condition accordingly to filter on newly created repository variable
    Thanks,

  • Scheduled Report: Export to Excel (Data Only) Fails

I have an issue with a new installation of Crystal Reports Server 2008. When I try to schedule a report for extract to Excel (Data Only) the report fails with the following error:
Error in File ~tmp202064233ce6330.rpt: Operation not yet implemented.
We have scheduled the report using Word, PDF, text and they all work however the Excel (Data Only) format fails everytime with this error.
I have no problem opening the report in Crystal Reports 2008 and Exporting to Excel Data Only format manually.
    Thanks in advance!

  • How to display "No data for yesterday" in a scheduled report on Webi

    Hi All,
In Webi, I am working on scheduling reports and was asked by a user if the scheduled report on Webi can display "No data for yesterday/no orders for yesterday" when the report returns no data due to No Orders submitted or a business holiday. This sounded a good idea to me as this report only looks for previous days orders/sales and there are many instances when the report will return blank page due to no activity the day before.
Can anyone please guide me on the possibility of achieving something like this on Webi using Bex query.
Any help will be appreciated .
    Thanks
    Gaurav

    Hi,
You can format the blocks in the report as "Hide When Empty" or "Hide When [some formula]" and have a blank cell added behind these blocks with a text "No Data for Yesterday"
Need to set the relative position and ordering for this accordingly.

  • Schedule a report with the system date imbeded in the file name

    Hello,
Could anyone tell me how I can schedule a crystal report with the system date imbedded in the file name (FileNameYYYYMMDD) through BOE?  When I scheduled the report through BOE, I gave a file name and selected Attach Date Time, but the file name is coming out slightly differently and with the time imbedded as well (FileNameYYYY-MM-DD-HH-MN I think). Is there a way to change the default system date time format in BOE so that the date stamp comes out the way we want it?
    Thanks!

%SI_STARTTIME% will add the time the report ran too.
Adding onlt the date will necessarily have to be done via the appropriate SDK.

  • Dynamic date parameters for a scheduled report that runs every day

I have a report that has input parameters for a start date and
end date. The report will be scheduled to run once a day at a
scheduled time. I need the report to automatically set the start
date and end dates when the report runs at the scheduled time.
When the report runs at the scheduled time, the end date needs
to be set to that time and the start date needs to be set to 24
hrs before the end date. I want the start and end dates to roll
forward automatically when the scheduled report runs each day. I
don't want any user intervention to change the start and end
dates every day. How can I do this in a report ?
Also, since the report is scheduled to run each day, I want the
output to be saved to a unique file name each time the report is
run as each day's report will report on the data only for that
day. How can I get the report to save to a unique file name
automatically each day ? Again, I don't want any user
intervention where they would set the output file name manually.

Try adding the following in the beforereport or beforepform
trigger, before the RETURN clause (TRUNC gets rid of the time
    component of the date):
    :p_date_from := TRUNC(sysdate) - 1;
    :p_date_to := TRUNC(sysdate);
    :desname := 'REPORT'||TO_CHAR(sysdate, 'DDMMYYYY')||'.txt'

  • Excel exports/scheduled reports missing data labels

    Hi All,
New to the forum so apologies if this has already been posted/answered.
When saving Webi reports to Excel or reviewing scheduled reports in Excel myself and other recipients are noticing corrupted bar chart graphics whereby the only data labels visible is the first on the left only....all of that data is there in the hidden sheets yet not being displayed
My own IT dept have been banging on about IE versions but this makes no sense as recipeints of the scheduled reports are also seeing the same problem and they're obviously not viewing/saving anything via a browser session.
Does anyone have any clues as to what might be causing this...have reviewed all of the Excel 2007 options but nothing jumps out at me.
    Many thanks in advance

  • Variable dates for a scheduling report

    Hi,
My report query has "between..and" date clause in WHERE condition.
I am planning to use the same report to schedule daily, weekly and monthly.
    1. If user schedule a report daily then query where clause should be
    trandate between sysdate - (sysdate-1)
    2. If user schedule a report weekly then query where clause should be
    trandate between sysdate - (sysdate-7).
    3. If user schedule a report monthly then query where clause should be
    trandate between sysdate - (sysdate-30).
How can we dynamically change the variable dates using Oracle reports using scheduler?
I thought of using lexical parameters but our users doesn't like to give any other values except scheduling report through scheduler.
    Please advise.

    Hi Prasad,
By Scheduler probably you mean the Reports Queue Manager. If you use the Reports QM, you may not be able to access the scheduling parameters in your report / query.
However, you can design a simple HTML parameter form where the user will have 3 values in the drop-down (daily, weekly, monthly). Depending on what is selected, you can construct a reports command line where you pass BOTH
    schedule=.....
    and
    p_where_clause=....
The "schedule" parameter will schedule the report in the server, while the other parameter "p_where_clause" will determine what to use in the report query. So the user makes only one selection and you pass both parameters based on the selection.

  • Documenting previously scheduled reports ( source data/tables )

    Hello,
I am new to crystal and was wondering where I could find the source database tables that hold the scheduling information. I am from a Oracle Discoverer Backgroud and all the scheduling information was kept in database tables under the discoverer user (owner) schema. Is it possible to get scheduling (event) infomation from the database? Where is this type of information kept for Crystal. I am using Crystal enterprise and there are about 450 scheduled reports. Rather than going thru them 1 by 1 using the client version, is there some other way to find out information on these scheduled reports (ie, when, where, datasource, parameters, etc..). These reports have never been documented and I am trying to find the best way to capture this information.
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Please post this query to the [Business Objects Enterprise Administration|BI Platform; forum.

  • Scheduled report ( Do not send when no dada found )

    Hi
    good morning everybody
I have a scheduled report in my work that sends daily cash spends to our managers , it works fine, but also sends with an empty attachment the day that company does not spend ,
I want the scheduled report not to be sent when there is no data,
    can i do this ?
    thank you soo much

    Hi Larry,
Generic paper 8 1/2" by 11" is standard but most printers have different physical printable paper area. Page margins come into play now. For example if you design a report using the generic printer driver and set your printable area margins to zero, now when you select a printer that has a 1/2" margin because it can't physically print to the whole paper size CR will have to adjust the margins and will likely start chopping off field info or in your case we may try to re-align the objects to fit.... It may be also that when you designed the reports the printer driver you were using may have problems which introduced problems in the report layout....
Even if you don't select a printer depending on the version of Crystal we still use either the default printer or Microsoft's Generic Printer driver to format the page. It's either that or the screen driver but that would be impossible to do alone...
In any event using the no printer option can cause more problems than it resolves.
The next issue is with printer drivers, we had multiple escalations to try to "resolve" printer driver problems and 90% of them are due to old legacy and non-unicode compliant drivers.
This is what I mean by producing a list of supported printers that you can test with.
    Thanks again

  • Problem accessing scheduled report results

    Hi,
I was able to schedule a Disco report successfully. From Disco desktop scheduling manager, I was monitoring the results. After the status says "Report ready", I clicked the "Open" button.
For the first dialog message "Do you want to open the results of this sheet? If you click No the sheet will be empty.", I clicked Yes button.
Then I get the second dialog message "The results run for this scheduled workbook can no longer be used because the query has changed. Do you want to query the database now for the new results?". What does this message mean? Nothing has changed in the report or database or EUL since I scheduled this report. I have been getting this message for all my scheduled reports and it defeats the purpose of scheduling.
Does anybody know what this message means and how can I resolve this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I am only guessing here but is it possible that the update date on your workbooks has got set in the future. Hence, when the schedule report finishes it checks the update date of the workbook and thinks that the workbook has been updated because it was updated after the schedule report has finished. It then prompts you to re-query for the results.
If you create a new workbook and schedule it do you get the same problem?

  • Ssrs scheduled report

    Hello,
Users are using a report daily which has two parameters:
    @Date and @clientName
The users run this report for different month-ends manually...
This report is now scheduled to run on the 10th of every month at 2:00 am. with th efollowing parameters:
The @Date is set for the last day of the previous month.
The @ClientName is always the same. i.e. @client1
The way I have scheduled it is, say today is 21st July 2014, I placed the date 30 june 2014 into the @Date parameter.
    Question:
Instead of me typing the date for the @Date parameter, i.e. 31 june 2014, how can the report do this so that it knows what @Date parameter to use when it automatically runs.
If I do not manually change the @Date parameter, then for the following month it still uses 31 june 2014 but I have to manually change the scheduled report and enter 31 july 2014 for the next run and so forth.
Remember that I do not want to change the format of the report because the users run this report too and they use different dates.
    Any suggestions please?

    Hi arkiboys,
According to your description, you want the report can auto type the last day of the previous month as the @Date value, rather than manually type the date. To fix this issue, we can type the last day of the previous month with expression as the default value
for the @Date. Then it automatically runs with the default date based on the date, without manually modification. For more details, please see:
Edit the report with Report Builder.
Right-click the @Date parameter to open the Report Parameter Properties dialog box.
Click Default Values in the left pane.
Specify a value with the expression below:
    =dateadd("d",-day(today),today)
Users can change the date for the @Date parameter to others based on their region when he view the report.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error while scheduling report for SAP users

    Hi All,
We have SAP authentication enabled in our BO environment. (BO XI 3.1 sp2 FP 2.6 on windows 2003 server).
There are some webi reports based on BW Bex queries that we are trying to run on behalf of certain SAP end users. This we are doing using "schedule for" option.
Now what is happening here is if the end user has logged in once in BO system ,it runs fine. But in case user has not logged in to BO (using infoview etc.) ,it throws error saying "incomplete logon data" . Also if user changes or reset his password in BW and if he doesn't login to infoview after that ,system throws another error "Name or password incorrect (repeat logon)".
Based on these observation, we are suspecting if BO system uses stored SAP users credentials while scheduling report for them based on their last login.
Would like to mention here that we have checked option "automatically import users".
Please advice if this behavior is normal or we are missing some setting.
    Thanks in advance,
    Chandra

    Hi All,
Any pointers or suggestions for this issue ??
Is there a setting/option avialable in CMC which could resolve these errors.
Or, user has to login once to infoview in all circumstances to avoid these errors.
    Thanks,
    Chandra

Actually this is a server that grabs data sent from an Iframe and writes it down to a temp file. I open a file input stream, lock it and then use a printwriter strream to write the realyed data to the file. Any inputs as to what is wrong with the code snippet above?????
