Script automated ESA version 8.5.6 configuration backup.

I have automated script to:
1) SSH into ESA
2) Generate configuration file
3) Back it up.
The script works fine until I did the upgrade in the past weekend, what I found is that now on version 8.5.6, the command "saveconfig no" is restricted to "cluster mode", and I need to find a way to insert "y" into my script,
here is my script, any suggestion to fix it? thanks.
FILENAME=`ssh -l xxx -i /home/xxx/.ssh/id_rsa $HOSTNAME "saveconfig no" | grep xml | cut -f 3 -d " "`
scp -i /home/xxx/.ssh/id_rsa xxx@$HOSTNAME:./configuration/$FILENAME /usr/tftpboot/tftp/ironport

  • Oracle Open script - Automation of Oracle CRM with oracle configurator

    Hi
I'm facing any issue when recording the Order creation using Open Script (Functional testing)
as per Oracle CRM functionality while creating an order it launches a configurator to chose the relavent features against an order.
I'm getting problem when the configurator is launched , the configurator page is slowing down and no response most of of the time and not able to record single order cretion
Please suggest , is there anything that I need to disable /enable in the Open script or any other place so the configurator works normally
Note, when I create an order manually (without Open script) the configurator behaves absolutely fine and working with its optimum speed.

    Hi Raj,
    thank you for your answer.
I can only hope that the new version of OpenScript will support the newest JRE and that it's going to be released soon.

  • Bulk configuration backup and command output using script (perl or batch)

    Hi,
Can you please guide me how to run a script to get configuration backup, and/or running a particular command on multiple devices in one go and then get the output in a text file?
It would be very nice, if you could give me a sample (containing the perl/batch configuration, and the step by step on how) to get output of "show version" from multiple (only IOS based) devices....

I think this site can get you started. It has the scripts that can do what you want

  • The version 0000000075 of development configuration is now available

    Hi experts,
when im loging into nwdi im getting pop up with below message , can u please explain what is the verison 0000000075 and why is it asking for that..
The version 0000000075 of development configuration is now available
Do you want to update the development Configuration ?
    Regards
    Govardan Raj

    Hi Govardan,
a track has a server side development config (created as per the domain data settings and track data settings i.e. includes cbs, dtr, cms url, sld nameserver and the software component dependencies).
It is an XML file you can check in CMS webui -- Track Data -- Build variants -- display development config.
If you create a devconfig in your NWDS, then this XML file is getting synced to your local space (this is the file called .confdef).
After this no more sync is getting done, but the locally stored .confdef is used by the devconfig, so it knows, which cms, dtr, cbs , sld to contact, etc. in other words: how to use the track.
If you change on the server side devconfig (by changing on say cbs, dtr or sld url or SC dependency setup) then NWDS recognizes that its locally stored .confdef became outdated.
This is why you have that popup that the server side devconf version XY is now available and you can make the locally stored one up to date.
I hope this answers your question.
    Best Regards,
    Ervin

  • WLC configuration Backup with WCS

    Hi,
What kind of backup is done with the configuration Backup Task in the WCS Administration.
Is this a backup of the actual running config on the WLC or is it the saved (startup) config on the controller?
Is there a way to view/edit a configuration backup from the controller?
Can I create a task on the WCS to do a cyclic/automatic save configuration to flash?
    Regards Christian

the configuration backup is for the controllers
and the files live wherever you specified the tftp server location on install of WCS.
The WLC backup is the running config from when the backup was completed.
go to your tftproot directory to view the config
If you are running a rev that outputs in xml format AND you are not encrypting it on the WLC.
I would not try editing the file. The hash will be altered and the config backup file will be useless.
You want WCS to be able to run the command 'save config' on each controller? How handy are you with tcl scripting?

  • Cisco NCS configuration backup and restore of WLC issues found

    Hi,
I recently tested the process for a customer of defaulting a Cisco WLC to factory configuration and then restoring the configuration from Cisco NCS.  It was not seamless to say the least and I wonder if I have just gone about it the wrong way.
Have have set the NCS platform to configuration sync with the 5508 controllers at 04:00 every day and prior to the controller defaulting I ensured that NCS also reported that the config was in sync.
I have also set NCS to complete a tftp backup of the controller every night 23:00 - interestingly though I have no idea where this is stored on the NCS platform ( a VM appliance ) or what it's filename is.
Anyway my experiences where as follows:-
    1.  defaulted WLC and via serial CLI ended up at the configuration wizard.
    2.  Set the correct LAG, management IP, hostname that NCS knew this controller by.
    3.  To test things just created a dummy WLAN ( SSID ) as I assumed this would be overwritten ( big mistake ! ).
At this point I connected the controller to the network and tried to restore the configuration from the config sync version.
First problem - you have to remember to set up the SNMP community string you were using as it is needed by the configuration sync process.  After adding this to the controller I could push the configuration to the controller.
Second problem - failed to add the first WLAN from the backup as I have added the temporary dummy WLAN via the wizard and NCS reported a conflict.  So had to delete WLAN ID 1 from the WLC GUI directly and then the config push no longer reported this error.
Third problem - for some reason did not add the TACACS server details - reported the error that it could not added them.  I manually added these via a template via NCS and all was well.
Fourth problem - all but the first WLAN was in the disabled state - had to re-enable all of the WLANs
Fifth problem - any default items I had disabled or removed have not been saved - therefore I have removed the public and private SNMP communities - but these were still on the WLC after the restore.  I have disabled unused ports not in the LAG as they show an error in NCS - these where not disabled after the restore.
So all in all not a very satisfactory restore process from NCS to an defaulted WLC ( ment to simulate to the customer what would be needed if they had to replace a controller due to hardware failure ).
So - anybody like to comment on what I did wrong - is there a different / better way of achieving this ??
    Regards
    Robert

    Hello Robert,
all the tasks you did seem to be fine for me.
I was also wondering the process os restoring from NCS controller configuration backups ...
If anyone else could give another method with less drawbacks, that would be appreciated, but i doubt about it.
    regards,
    Guillaume.

  • Configuring Backups in Enterprise Manager 10.2.0.2.0

    Hello,
I am trying to configure backups in Enterprise Manager. Whenever I try to provide the host credentials, I receive the following:
"Connection to host as user Administrator failed: ERROR: Wrong
    password for user"
This machine is a primary domain controller, and therfore has no local accounts. All accounts are through the domain via Active Directory. I came across a plug-in for Enterprise Manager for AD, but it is only for Windows Server 2003. Since I cannot authenticate locally for host credentials, how would I work around this in order to setup a backup schedule? Thanks.

    [email protected]

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, this did not seem to resolve the issue, as I still received the error message when attempting to provide the Administrator's credentials. I also added the domain admin to the Log on locally option, but this did nothing as well. Is there something else that I need to put in to the fields when attempting to set up a backup job?

Requirement is to use Cisco prime to do a discovery, inventory and take configuration backup for non-cisco devices. Is it something possible out of the box ?

    plz. let me know. sir.
    thanx in advance.

    From the docs:
    Requirements for Backup Optimization
Backup optimization is used when the following conditions are true:
The CONFIGURE BACKUP OPTIMIZATION ON command has been run to enable backup optimization.
You run BACKUP DATABASE, BACKUP ARCHIVELOG with ALL or LIKE options, or BACKUP BACKUPSET ALL.
Only one type of channel is allocated, that is, you do not mix channels of type DISK and sbt in the same backup command.

  • Configure backup device in SAP(DB13)

I have installed the ECC 6.0 with SQLServer 2005 ,now I want to
configure the backup device in it. I am using external hdd for backup.
Please suggest me how to configure backup device in SAP(DB13) and
    database level.
where I have to set the parameters for backup device.
    Thanks

    Hi..
You need to configure initSID.sap inside Kernel.
Choose backup device type to disk
    backup_dev_type = disk
    and change backup root directory
    backup_root_dir = < Your_External_HDD_adress>
    e.g. G:/backup/
    Hope it should work....

  • How to configure backup device

    Hii,
I have fresh install 4.7 with sql 2000 database . I want to take backup of my database in other drive . how i will configure this drive .
    thanks & regards
    jagdish

    hi,
you want to take backup using DB13 or from SQL server enterprise manager,
if you want to take backup on network drive the drive must be map and accessible through windows.
configure backup devices on MS SQL Server management Studio,
logon to SQL server management Studio,
under object explorer navigate through server object -> backup devices
create new backup device -- destination file type. give path for your network drive backup folder.

  • What is the cisco ironport C680 and M680 configuration backup file size?

what is the cisco ironport C680 and M680 configuration backup file size?

Size of the XML itself?  That is going to vary based on what you have configured, total lines of code, and # of appliances you may/may not have in cluster.
M680, based on SMA as stand-alone, should be similar --- you are probably looking @ < 1 MB...
Looking @ my test environment, in which I have a nightly cron job set to grab a backup of...
    -rw-rw----  1 robert robert 161115 Sep 26 02:00 C000V-564D1A718795ACFEXXXX-YYYYBAD60A5A-20140926T020002.xml
    So, 161115 bytes = .15 MB

  • Cisco prime configuration backup

    Hi There,
In Cisco prime infrastructure there are two places that I can do backup of the WLCs.
    1. Operate -> Configuration Archive & run schedule archive
    2. Administration -> background Task -> Controller Configuration Backup
Can someone tell me what's the different between these two? What would be the issue if I have enable only option 1 not 2? If I want to get the running configuration of the controller to my PC How I would be able to do that?
    Thx
    Sara

An Intelligent Network Management Application doesn't have to depend on most basic tasks for user input.
It should be smart enough to start managing devices for configurations, inventory and Fault Management out of the box, as soon as the devices are added.
Under Mega-Menu like --> Design, Deploy and Operate their are many tasks which are user deployed and as per the network preferences and requirement.
Under Background Tasks we have System Defined Tasks to start many such device management activities by default.
Also, under Background task, you can configure an external TFTP/FTP server to archive the backup of the controllers configuration.
    -Thanks
    Vinod
