SD3.0 EA3: ER model - Classification Type in Table Property window

Hi,
In my ER model, for some tables in my model, I am not able to apply Classification Type. When I select a classification type and click on Apply button the fist letter of classification type appears on table header. But the classification format is not applied. For example I have created a new classification type "History" and given a background color Red. When I apply this classification type on a table the letter "H" is displayed on table header but background color Red was not applied. Table is still having default Yellow background.
This behavior is same even if I select a predefined Classification type like Fact or Dimension etc....And this behavior is for some tables only. For other tables its working file.
I am not able to identify any special difference between these tables.
Please help me.
Thanks,
Rahul

Hi,
Actually, I am using table properties dialog to change classification type. By seeing "Philip Stoyanov" reply I tired using Set Classification Dialog.
My issues is, when I use table properties dialog to change classification type for some tables* color format is not working. It is showing first word of classification type on table header. But not applying color format. Just displaying default yellow background color. So some of my dimension tables are in one color and some dimensions in yellow color.
Thanks,
Rahul

  • DM 3.1 /  Classification types

    Hello,
I'm havin troubles with my classification type colors. I had set a new type and a color for it. There where few tables in my model that I had set that type and they were purple. I imported some changes from data dictionary to two of those tables and after that the color disappeared from those two. They became yellow, but the classification type prefix remained. I tried to remove the type and create a new one, add and remove the type from the tables... But the two tables remained yellow.
I didn't find anything from the log related to this.
I had to remove the tables and import them again and now I got them purple again.

    Hi,
I'm having problems with classification type colors also in version 3.1.1 and if I remember right I had the same problems in earlier versions. Somehow importing tables from different model to current model messes color coding in some of the tables.
I created a new model, then imported multiple tables from different earlier made models to my model. After that i made few classification types, but the color coding in some of the imported tables dont't work( not all of them). Color stays in normal yellow. And I can repeat this with the same imported "problem tables" from same source model .
If tables are not imported from different models then classification types are working well.

  • Classification type ODDM  Versión 4.1.0.873

    Hello,
In ODDM the classification type can be hidden, but this feature does not seem to work properly , because besides indicate preferences datamodel , it also must be specified at the table level .
Would it not be possible to simply indicate a preference level model?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
I have a DataModel, in preferences i have check only the classifications type preferred.
after, in object table I have check again preferencia ( otherwise all are show)
The improvement is proposed not have to check again .

  • Model wage type for performance pay and additional pay

    Hi gurus,
my client wants performance pay and additional pay in the additional payments. I am confused what model wage types to be copied for this. i tried copying m2sf for these but the prob is if if the employee is joining in the mid of month say 15th , then if i am trying to give performane pay of 10,000 rs then it is calculating only 15 days pay n giving 5000 in the payroll n payslip.
if i try to copy the other wage types like m200,m281 n m282, i have the same problem . but if i copy m280 for both of these w.ts ,then it is giving the flat amount irrespective of the joining date of employee. but my question is does it have any implications on the calculation of the tax. coz i observed different model wage types deduct different amounts of tax. i.e if i copy m281 for performance apy n give the value as 10,000 then ,it give some x amount of tax on 10,000 similarly if i copy some other model w.t , for same amount of 10,000 it gives some other amount of tax.

  • First Party Legal Entity link with Fiscal Classification Type Code- R12

    Hello Team
We are working on one of the dimension on E- Tax (BI Apps).
As part of the dimension we need to identify the Legal entity and the linked Fiscal Classification Type Code (Associated Fiscal Classifications) to it. This we are able to see from the application with the following navigation.
Parties: Party Tax Profiles > Party Tax Profiles > Query with the First Party Legal Entity.
Now would seek your help from the technical perspective. How is this linkage happens between Legal Entity and Fiscal Classification Type Code (Associated Fiscal Classifications to it)? We have verified few tables and there is no link available.
If possible provide us the Join Conditions.

    Hello Hansen,
I found this note on My Support:
"R12. EBTax. How to Differentiate Tax Rate Code for Payables and Receivables Transactions in Tax Classification Code LOV (List of Values). [ID 756985.1]
Tax Classification Code LOV ( List of Values) is showing all tax rates created in EBTax. You need to choose your tax rate code in the list of values on tax classification code in Payables or Receivables. How do you differentiate the Tax Rate Code for Payables and Receivables transactions in the Tax Classification Code LOV?
    *Solution*
Please note that in R12, there is a centralized tax engine. Tax set up made in EBTax will be and can be applicable to both Payables and Receivables. Any tax rate created in EBTax, will be available as a Tax Classification Code LOV in both these applications. It cannot be restricted and it is the intended functionality.
If Payables and Receivables exist with unique operating units then the MOAC security settings can be used to restrict the LOV. Additionally if EBTax is configured propertly the tax classification codes will not be used for tax determination except in exception based scenarios. Please see the case study in *Note 577996.1* for examples
I just setup ebTax using tax codes for AR and AR and, by the moment, the tax codes from both modules are shared on the LOV. We used a convention for the code naming...but I'm will be looking note 577996.1

  • Missing Model Wage Types

We are implementing SAP for Croatia (We are bringing Croatia into existing HR system). When I tried to copy the wage types I realized that the environment is missing the model wage types for MOL 58. I raised a note to SAP with low priority but want to check with you all to see if any one experienced this kind of scenario? If so, what was the approach to resolve that?
    KR

    Hi,
Croatia is not standard SAP solution, but it is part of CEE add on.
Please check SAP note: Note 572252 - Overview note HR-CEE Add-on
When you install the add on you will have wage type catalogue as well as other payroll elements (configuration and workbench).

  • Datamodeler 4 cannot set table classification for individual table

    Hi,
using version 4.0.0.816 I am unable to set or change the classification type of a table in the tables property dialog. I have created a relational model based on a database schema, and added custom classification types. I can select and assign the classification types at model level using "set classification types" dialog but not at the table level. At table level in the properties dialog the drop down dialog at the top "Base  Classification" is always grayed out. The list boxes below with the arrows initially work as intended, but if I make a selection, close the dialog and then reopen it my selection is gone. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Hi Philip,
there is a small icon that looks like an infinity symbol turned 45 degrees in the top left corner of every table in the diagram which I assume is the link symbol. I created this model from an existing schema in the database. I have exported the model to a reporting schema.  I have not knowingly created any other models except to make a copy with save as. How can I find out what other model my tables are linked to? Can I remove the links so that I can edit the table properties?
Thanks for your quick answers so far.

I will attach a recent screen shot of a print window I opened and the extra code is above and below the window. There are matrix type blocks of code and then lines under the window. I get this all the time and it is getting worse.

  • Different types of tables and purpose

    Hi,
Could someone explain me the different types of tables an what data they store.
    Sonali

    hi Sonali,
These are the different types of tables in MDM
Flat Tables : It is a simple table consisting of record and fields ( rows and column) .
Hierarchy Table : A hierarchy table organizes information in a hierarchy, where each record is related to a parent record (even if the only parent is the root) and may also be related to sibling records and/or child records.
Taxonomy Table : A taxonomy is the classification scheme that defines the categories and subcategories that apply to a collection of records. Categorizing records enables you to isolate subsets of records for various organizing, searching, editing and publishing purposes.
Qualified Table : A qualified table in MDM stores a set of lookup records, and also supports qualifiers, u201Csubfieldsu201D that apply not to the qualified table record by itself, but rather to each association of a qualified table record with a main table record. MDM supports multiple simultaneous qualified tables.
Tables are also Categorized as Object Tables like :
Images : This table is for storing Images
Sounds : This table is for storing Sound File.
Videos : This table is for  storing Video Files .
Binary Objects : This table is for storing Binary Objects.
Text Blocks : This table is for storing  block of text.
Copy Blocks : This table is for storing  block of text interpreted as a Copy.
Text HTML`s : This table is for storing  block of text interpreted as a HTML.
PDFs : This table is for storing PDF files.
There are various types of Special Tables , i have mentioned below:
Image Variants : Used to define the structure
and format of each of the variants for each image. Each variant is a modified version derived from an original image; the original image is never modified.
Masks : In this defined subset of records are included in Mask i.e. in any scenario whether new records are added or deleted in the repository the records in the Mask remains the same unless edited by the user.
Families : Used to further partition main table records in each category into smaller groups based upon the values of other fields and/or attributes.
Relationships : Used to define each of the different record-level relationships. Each relationship can be either bidirectional (sibling) or unidirectional (parent-child).
Workflows : Stores the workflows of an MDM repository, where each workflow is stored as a record in the table.
Name Searches : Unlike Masks in case of Name search there are again a defined set of records but those records are selected on the basis of Search Selection. In this case if a record is added then the record is checked whether it fulfills the particular search criteria if it does than it is added to the Name serach else not.
Data Groups : Stores the hierarchy of data groups used to break the entire set of objects in the MDM repository into manageable subgroups.
There are various types of System Tables :
Roles : A single table named Roles. One of three tables used to implement MDM repository security and access control. Each role can selectively grant or deny access to any MDM function and to any table or field. This table is managed in the MDM Console and is not visible in the MDM Client.
Users : A single table named Users. One of three tables used to implement MDM repository security and access control. Each user can have one or more roles. This table is managed in the MDM Console and is not visible in the MDM Client.
Connections : A single table named Connections. One of three tables used to implement MDM repository security and access control. Contains an entry for each currently connected MDM client application, which can be terminated by the MDM Console user. This table is not visible in the MDM Client.
Change Tracking : A single table named Change Tracking. Allows you to specify the fields for which adds, modifies, and deletes should be tracked and stored in the Change Tracking table.
Remote Systems : A single table named Remote Systems. Used to define the different remote systems for import and export. Each specifies whether it supports inbound, outbound, or both. This table is managed in the MDM Console and is not visible in the MDM Client.
Ports : A single table named Ports. Used to encapsulate the logistical and configuration info for inbound and outbound processing of MDM data, for consolidation and distribution respectively. This table is managed in the MDM Console and is not visible in the MDM Client.
Links : A single table named Links. Used to specify the URLs that can be used as the target of an embedded browser in the Web tab in the MDM Client. This table is managed in the MDM Console and is not visible in the MDM Client.
XML Schema : A single table named XML Schemas. Used to identify the XML schemas for import and syndication. Each XML schema is the name of an .xsd file. This table is managed in the MDM Console and is not visible in the MDM Client.
Reports : A single table named Reports. Contains an entry for each report file generated by the various MDM repository operations, which can be accessed and viewed by the MDM Console user. This table is not visible in the MDM Client.
Logs : A single table named Logs. Contains an entry for the log files generated by the MDM Server, which can be accessed and viewed by the MDM Console user. This table is not visible in the MDM Client.
In MDM SP06 5.5 we can have only one main table, but in MDM 7.1 version we can maintain many main tables.

  • Different types of tables and modes

    Hi Experts
What is the specification of different tables in console and different modes in data manager.
What is the major difference between them.
Can we create a table of one type in console and can use the same table in another mode in data manager, say if I create a taxanomy table and can I use it as the hierarchy mode in the data manager.

    Hi Hari,
Differnt types of tables in Console are :
Actually the Tables in Console are further categorized as :
Main Table and Sub table which include:
Flat Tables : It is a simple table consisting of record and fields ( rows and column) . In MDM Main table is always a flat table.

    Data Manager:
Data Manager in simple terms can be stated as a place where we manage the data that is taken from various systems.
All the data that you take from all the various systems that a business is using is then taken into data manager, so that it could be cleansed and can be maintained easily in future.
There are basically four different modes in Data Manager:
    1. Record Mode:  This mode allows us to search, view and edit the records of any table in MDM repository. This is the mode that one uses most often, primarily to view and edit records in the main table and also to view and edit records in any of the sub tables.
    2. Hierarchy mode. This mode allow us to view and edit the hierarchy tables in the MDM repository, including regular hierarchy tables, taxonomy tables, and the Masks table. Though we can also view and edit the records of a hierarchy table in Record mode, Hierarchy mode specifically allows us to edit the parent/child relationships and the sibling ordering of the hierarchy.
    3. Taxonomy mode. This mode allows us to view and edit the taxonomy tables in the MDM repository. We usually use this mode to create and maintain the category hierarchy used in the repository, and to manage the attributes associated with each category and subcategory. Though we can also view and edit taxonomy tables in both Record mode (for searching) and Hierarchy mode (for editing the other fields of information associated with each category), Taxonomy mode is unique in that instead of focusing on the records of the taxonomy table, it allows you to create and manage the pool of attributes associated with the taxonomy table, and to assign attributes to categories on a category-by-category basis.
    4. Matching mode.  This mode allows us to identify and eliminate duplicate records within an MDM repository. When you view the main table in Matching mode, MDM allows you to perform u201Cmatching-and-mergingu201D on and against any or all of its records, using various user-defined criteria (like creation of Rules and Strategies) to decide whether or not records are potential duplicates.
    5. Family mode. This mode allows us to view and edit the Families table, which layers a hierarchy of families upon the taxonomy hierarchy to further break down each category into smaller groups of main table records. We usually use this mode to partition the categories of the taxonomy hierarchy by the values of other fields and/or attributes, and then to associate family data (such as an image, a paragraph, and bullets) once with each family of main table records rather than each individual record.
Can we create a table of one type in console and can use the same table in another mode in data manager, say if I create a taxanomy table and can I use it as the hierarchy mode in the data manager.
The structure of the tables are defined in Console and those tables are then used in Data Manager, but if you have defined a table as a Hierarchy table you cannot use that table in Taxonomy Mode but you will be able to see all the tables in Record Mode.
    Hope this would be useful...
    If useful do reward points!!!!
