SDL Issue
Hi All,
I am getting this error while gining URL in Development Configurations pool in netwearer developer studio.
IO error: Unable to open connection to host "sapbsp01:50300". The IP address of the host could not be resolved. Maybe the URL is misspelled or the host does no longer exist..
update in "host" file which is located in your system
C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc
under "etc" you find a file "hosts" open with Notepad and give the Localhost or Server host #'s
ipaddress hostname
128.xx.xy.00... localhost
1XY.AB.CD.00. hpdev
etc.. etc.

Download issue in SDL WorldServer 2009
We have found an issue in Firefox which only occurs since this week's upgrade to Firefox 8:
On export, SDL WorldServer no longer creates an .xlz named after the Task.
Instead it creates a file named Export, with no extension.
We can open it in Desktop workbench provided we rename it to xlz.
Is there a fix for this?Does anyone know about this?
The software manufacturer says this comes from a change in the way Firefox enforces security with the name of the files downloaded.
They are not able to provide advice on whether this is a setting that can be altered in Firefox, and are just asking us to use a workaround (renaming the file to .xlz manually each time) -
Whenever I use SDL under totem, the playing image always remians a fixed size. How do I correct this issue? If I can't use that, how do I get the option XWindows (X11/Xshm/XV) to work? In either case, will the fonts of subtitles look better? When I ran them under no XV, they had terrible aliasing.
As for DVD under totem, I've installed gstreamer0.10 -plugins, as well as lidnvav. However, it keeps saying that it "can't determine the type of stream". How do I correct this?To answer the last question first; VCD is old and less clear format for today's video. DVD players can play it but the resolution is poor, kind of like a VHS tape as compared to a DVD. For something to play in a DVD player, it most likely will require that a DVD authoring software be used. Windows Movie Maker can do this but it may not like the format of the camcorder you have. To use something that can handle most any type of video and convert it to a DVD playable in most any DVD player, try DVDFlick. Free and found here: http://www.dvdflick.net/download.php
Depending on what part of Nero was used, it too should be able to make a DVD playable in a DVD player.

How to correct the error
Probably the only way to eliminate the error is to correct the program.
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
keywords:
"MESSAGE_TYPE_X" " "
"SAPLMBWL" or "LMBWLU21"
"MB_POST_GOODS_MOVEMENT"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".
4. Details about the conditions under which the error occurred or which
actions and input led to the error.

000000Hi
As soon as we have started to put things into UPDATE TASK, we must
54 ensure that errors definitely terminate the transaction.

Mobility Radeon 7500 OpenGL issues

Has this always been the case for you or did you update recently and it started happening? There appears to be some sort of conflict with some machines and new changes to the kernel to allow quicker mode setting. See http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 47#p659347. I had to add !radeon to my MODULES list in /etc/rc.conf to get X to even work at all. I don't run anything that uses OpenGL so I don't know if it'll address your issue.
You may also want to take a look at http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 20#p662920 and add intel_agp radeon (that's two modules, in that order) to your MODULES list.
Well, I was having the graphical corruption issue in that first thread until I added the nomodeset boot flag. As for the modesetting, I think it directly conflicts with my boot flag, and without it, I get corruption. =/ -
Running: Captivate 6
I'm having two
issues that I thought was only tied to Cyrillic characters, but appears to be with multiple languages (confirmed with Brazillian Portugese, Latin American Spanish, Swedish and Russian).
1. Quiz Pass/Fail result message appearing truncated (top and bottom of message is cut off, or message appears wrapped and overlaps)
I've attempted converting the text to a UTF-8 format and tried that as well, but had no success.
2. We have a 108 slide test created in Captivate v6; the English version pushes all 108 slide results to our LMS without issue. When we created the version in Russian, one slide refused to push slide results.
Steps to confirm/resolve:
I've confirmed the settings are identical on the project and on the slide between both the EN and RU versions
I've pasted the russian text into the working EN project and published/tested and that particular slide does not push results to the LMS (the only thing changed was the text on the existing slide)
I've tried duplicating working slides and replacing text; it fails to report
I've tried converting the text to a UTF-8 format and replacing the text; again it fails to push slide results to our LMS
I've tried about every option I can to get the RU version fo the test working (pushing results for all 108 slides); Out of desperation I've created a work around which is putting the question and answer options in as images (not text) and then the test pushes all 108 slide results. This leads me to believe that the issue is regarding how the font is viewed/read by Captivate 6 and ultimately reported to our LMS (SABA).
I've reached out to our localization company (SDL) and their only suggestion was the UTF-8 formatting (which failed).
Please help! Thanks!!Hi,
If your homepage framework is working for German language then check if your setting are properly maintain for Area Group Key SAPDEFAULTESS_ERP2005 in French Turkish Portugese..
Solution:Login to system in each language i.e FR, TR, PT

Customer sales return - excise inv creation issue
Dear expert,
We are testing the "Customer sales Return" scenario for one of our client. Our process is,
1. Create sales return order (VA01) with ref or without reference
2. Create return delivery (VL01N)
3. Perform Post goods Receipt (VL02N)
4. Create Credit Note (VF01) - Here in this case we are differ. We are creating the "Credit Note" with reference to return delivery not with ref to sales return order
Since we planned to create the credit note with reference to "Return delivery", we have defined the CIN related customizing as "Assign Billing Types to Delivery Types".
Then we tried to create the excise Invoice using Transaction J1IIN. But we are getting the error message as
Billing document 3134000001 does not exist
Message no. 8I422
Kindly give your suggestion to overcome this issue.
Warm Regards,
NagDear Experts,
Thanks for your quick response.
Yes, already we maintained the billing relevance field in item category maintained as "A" & Copy contorl in VTFL also. Due to this we can able to create the "credit Note" in Transaction VF01. But during excise Invoice creation only we are facing the above mentioned issue.
Feedback for the response from SDL:-
Yes, we came to know that, for customer sales return process we need to raise a JV only not the excise invoice creation in J1IIN. But we are in the assumption that, this scenario is applicable of we are creating the "Credit Note" with reference to return sales order.
But in our case, we are creating the "Credit Note" with reference to "Return delivery". Since delivery is involved in the process we are in the assumption that we can able to create the excise invoice using J1IIN after maintaining the configuration in the "Assign Billing Types to Delivery Types" area.
Please give your valuable feedback on this.
Warm Regards,
Nag -
Attachment issues in mail since last upgrade.
With the latest iOS update, I am intermittently unable to receive email file attachments from some Windows users. Only receive a win.dat file. This is across the board in iMail, and on iPhone and iPad. I have not had this issue before with those same people.
Hmm... just checked zsnes in [extra] and noticed this as well. I'm normally using the wip version and the OpenGL modes are working fine (22 modes to select from). The official version will probably be fixed soon, but you can try this PKGBUILD if you are in a hurry. Better backup zsnesl.cfg and zguicfgl.dat before you try it, though.

FrameMaker and SDL Author Assistant
I just attended a webinar on SDL's Author Assistant (a content Management software)that looks like a good solution to some of my technical manual issues regarding consistency with terminology and general verbiage. It is supposed to be compatible with FrameMaker. We are currently using InDesign and are open to changing to Framemaker if this software is everything we hope it is.
Is anyone out there using this software with Framemaker for printed documents? I would be interested to know how it is going and anything I should "watch out" for.Hi,
FrameMaker will only produce RGB output for printing. Frame 9.0 has the ability to produce CMYK pdf, but it is still buggy, and you will have to wait until the bugfix comes.
There are also some issues with printermarks and "crop box/Art box" information. If you use printermarks, you will have to manually position the pages in your page output program. (CTP setter) -
hello!
i have used archlinux for a year or so. everything went quite perfectly, but because archlinux is not multilib (i need it for my 32-bit blitzmax application) i installed gentoo last week. and because gentoo did not get me "that feeling" of arch, i went back and reinstalled arch...completely new. now i have got problems with 32bit-wine. i am using arch64 and never had such a problem. we are discussing that in the german forums without any solutions yet so i hope you could help me. i guess nobody else has this problem (because i did not read of it) so i must be an idiot and do sth. wrong .
ok, first, this issue does not appear when running native 64bit applications, like frozen-bubble iin fullscreen. so i guess it has sth to do with the lib32 packages...dont know. when i am running windows games iin wine (bin32-wine 1.1.17 or bin32-wine-suse 1.1.18 from aur) in fullscreen, wine changes the resolution as it has to be (640x480, 800x600 or whatever), but i can still use my mouse and move it to the right or bottom edge and can so navigate through the whole screen ( so i can see the rest of my gnome desktop for example). because of that my games are unplayable. it happens to morrowind, half-life (the old one, not the source-based) & half-life 2, so it not depends on one game. i tried running wine using xrandr resolution changer (changed in wine config) but the i cannot change the resolution from my native one (1680x1050), also not perfectly, because i want to play my games in 800x600 ^^.
but remember, it did work quite well two weeks ago :-\ (i will never change my distro again, i will never change my distro again... )
here is maybe stuff you will need:

SDL causes console to change TTY
Hi all,
I upgraded my system the other day and I just noticed that I can no longer run SDL programs. As soon as SDL_Init() is called, my X11 display changes back to the (framebuffer) text console. Pressing Alt+Ctrl+F1 does not restore my X session, however changing to another console with Alt+Ctrl+F2 and then pressing Alt+Ctrl+F1 to go back does restore my X session (but without an SDL window on the screen.)
Has anyone else experienced this? I am not sure whether it's a kernel problem, an X11 problem or a video driver problem (I'm using Intel HD graphics.)
Here is a simple test. Put this content in sdl-test.cpp:
#include <SDL.h>
int main(void)
SDL_Init(SDL_INIT_VIDEO | SDL_INIT_AUDIO);
return 0;
Then compile and run it like this:
g++ -o sdl-test sdl-test.cpp -lSDL -I/usr/include/SDL
./sdl-test
For me the instant I press enter on the ./sdl-test line all my screens go black for a second and then I'm presented with the login prompt on another VT.
Is it just me or does this affect anyone else? Running all the latest packages as of just before this post, with Intel graphics and drivers.I know next to nothing about SDL, but I just compiled and tried the above code and it did nothing as expected (no issue as you describe). I also have intel video with xf86-video-intel.

Edited by: user633508 on Oct 8, 2010 5:10 PMHi Kavipriya,
Thanks for quick reply.
This issue after generating output -> Excel..
I am not getting any issue..
but in place of special character , it shows some squar box symbol.. remaining ok..
and remaining special characters are working fine..
the following examples which I got in my excel output..
CM&U Enertrag Randow-Höhe (8) SDL
CM&U Prützke 1-4 SDL I & II
CM&U Kulder Hof Tönisvorst (4) SDL phase I+II
the output is generating perfect.. but client reports some bad characters are coming in place of Ö. Ü,ß,.....etc
Please let me know how can we correct the above one.
Thanks.. -
EtreCheck results, Issues with RAM while playing game
I have been having issues playing a computer game on my MBP and the game crashes. Now it seems to be having an issue with saving and the error code it gives states there is not enough RAM to be able to save. Not sure what the issue is or how to free up the RAM. Does the RAM get dumped every time I restart my computer or does the inactive RAM keep piling up? Anyways here is my EtreCheck, anyone see anything out of the normal or what I should do to free up this RAM while playing. I don't understand why I am having so many issues with this, my computer is pretty good and should be able to handle anything with no problems.

Can't start kdnlive (SDL module missing in MLT)
When i start firstime kdenlive, the configuration assistant is opened, and i see the message "MLT's SDL module not found. Please check your MLT install. Kdenlive will not work until this issue is fixed.".
Can anybody help me?
ThanksI realize this may be late, but I have the same problem. MLT is not upgraded to 0.8, 0.7.4 is still the latest (http://www.mltframework.org/twiki/bin/view/MLT/). Thanks to kikoloche for providing a downgrade path, I myself will be waiting for the next update, but if it doesn't work then I hope I can downgrade then.
EDIT: Also I experience crashes in k9copy and Handbrake also, which may be due to the same issue as this.

Questions concerning OpenAL and SDL sound
Hi,
After having sound problems with Warsow, I wanted to rebuild OpenAL as it seemed to use OSS by default. However, the PKGBUILD currently in ABS does not work anymore, the download for the source is invalid. I wrote my own PKGBUILD for openal-soft, which seems to work OK so far (I just had to create a symbolic link for libopenal.so.0, as libopenal.so.1 is now created by default). This version linked against my alsa-libs works without problems. Would it be possible to to replace openal with openal-soft or at least change the PKGBUILD or is there a reason the old version is still the standard in the repos?
Another issue was sound in Urban Terror, which also seemed to use OSS by default. As this game only uses SDL Audio and cannot be compiled to use OpenAL (the flags are ignnored), I wondered why SDL uses OSS by default and not alsa. The current SDL-version is compiled with ALSA and OSS support, but it always used OSS. After rebuilding and reinstalling SDL with --disable-oss, it worked properly (read: I could play music and Urban Terror at the same time). I don't know if there is a configuration file for SDL somewhere, I found nothing in /etc/, but as ALSA is preferred over OSS nowadays, perhaps --disable-oss could be added to the PKGBUILD for SDL. Perhaps I built SDL from source with OSS installed using the standard PKGBUILD, and OSS is not enabled in the repo's SDL, but I think this could be updated nevertheless.Yes, it does work, but I find it a bit irritating that OSS is default for SDL, as the majority of users use ALSA nowadays. Same goes for OpenAL according to http://icculus.org/lgfaq/#setthatdriver - perhaps this should be noted somewhere?
