Seeing an unknown error in our logs, possible corruption

We recently experienced some corruption of a (Publishing) Pages library in one site and a (Publishing) Documents library in another. They are not sub-sites of each other, both are off of the root site. In one case (Pages) the Allitems view was corrupt and
no one could add or edit pages, even though the URLs were correctly returned for the users. In the second case, the Documents library, was even more corrupt, the columns, content types and views were gone in the library settings.
I am seeing two errors in my logs which may or may not relate to this. the first one I think does as this error occurred each time I tried to access the Document library:
Cannot complete this action.  Please try again.

The second error does not even show up in Google search:

So, I am at a loss where to look for a solution to these problems. Does anyone have an idea why this corruption might be occurring? And, if so, what we can do to stop it?
Thanks.

Hi I have the same issue, how did you find it was the Allitems view that was corrupted?
I have no views over my list thats corrupted.

  • TFTP 'configuration update' from 5508 WLC fails stating reason as '%Error: Config file transfer failed – Unknown error –refer to log'

    Dear Experts,
I have two WLCs and other management devices as part of same subnet. I am able to upload ‘configs’ from all the devices on to my TFTP server. However when I am attempting to do the same from one of my WLC, it is failing consistently stating error message as:
‘%Error: Config file transfer failed – Unknown error –refer to log
Has anyone else too faced the same issue and how would we overcome this? Any specific debug that could help get more details on it?
Though the error message says, refer to log but still I don’t see anything that gets reflected in ‘Monitor logs’ which is related to ‘configuration file’ upload failure.
    WLC code: 7.4.100.0
    PFA as the error snippet.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Adnan

    Hi Kaneswaran,
Just a soft reboot helped me solved the problem :). Still I am on 7.4 and facing no issues after this.
Apologies for coming too late to respond. Getting a down time window was not that easy and so was much delayed to try soft reload. I am still on 7.4 and facing no issue.
Glad that in your case it starting working all of a sudden. Could you please verify from 'show tech-support' to confirm if by chance your WLC had undergone any crash that could have caused the WLC to reload and thus accidently fixing the issue :)
    Best Regards,

  • Corrupted/Locked out apple ID "An Unknown Error has occurred" logging into support?

I was forced to use a different apple id to log into this support community because all attempts from different devices and browsers using another ID have ended up at the password prompt with "An unknown error has occurred" at the community login screen.  The ID can still be "manged" and appears to be able to make purchases from the iTunes Store over the internet.  A phone incident case number 388249960 was opened and I spent over an hour on the phone with this problem.  The ID in question was set up more than two years ago to help with my wife's iPad 1 which we paid 800 plus for,,, all the storage and bells and whistles.  Recently she started using the iTunes store to purchase and download television series and we got in trouble because her directories were filling the c:drive on a Vista Business computer she normally uses.  Before starting to deal with the problem of storage, I tried to make sure everything was up to date and downloaded/installed the latest iTunes 11.0,1,, to her machine.  I already had it on another machine running Windows 7 and two older Windows XP machines.    All of them were "tested" for home networking to our Apple TV so that I could go to the TV and find a computer which could be used as a source for streaming music, videos, etc., etc. all based on her ID.  As of this writing, I believe all of that functionality still exists, but, when I navigate to support and try to log in using her ID and password, I get re-prompted for the password and then "Locked Out" when "An Unknown Error Has Occurred" pops up above the login via the web site.
I am writing this after much agony and travial via an obsolete instance of Windows Explorer running on Windows XP Home Premium on an old portable using a newly created Apple ID which does not appear to have the same problems logging into the support community.  Can anyone out there help me?
I have gone to war with Comcast's "free" security enhancement software "Constant Guard" believing that it might be the source.  This machine had it installed at one time and has had it completely removed, but... it still experiences the error when my wife's ID is used.
The issue may be related to the recently added requirement for secuity questions and recovery email addresses which I tried to address for her ID and inadvertently ran into conflict/problem with using certain other email addresses with her ID.  Perhaps something is corrupted in the database for her ID, or related to problems with support for esoteric things like Microsoft's .NET enhancements which I have long been using on my computers, or possibly Constant Guard "started" the problem because it was probably running when account security data was being updated via the Apple web site?  I tried to get information about what I thought was the "recovery email address" associated with her account and was told by Apple Web sites that it was "in use" as an apple ID and could not be used as her recovery address.  When I called trying to confirm that this ID was "mine" I was able to provide one of two security clearance pieces of data, but not enough information to get the support person to straighten things out for me. I ended up creating "yet another" ID just to get clear of the mess.
I made a suggestion to one of the folks I spoke with that an improvement to the functionality of apple ID's would be to support "consolidation" of accounts so that if several different Apple devices had been registered with different ID's and they all belonged to the same user(s) that a "common ID" could be created.
I'm reluctant to post apple ID's in a public support forum, and would prefer to deal with this by private email.  or phone.

    Then contact Apple directly.
This is a user to user technical support forum.  No one here has access to manage Apple ID's other than their own.
There is no Apple presence here.

  • Unknown Error when I Logging and Transfer P2 Card files in FCP 6.0.6

I have been trying for the past two week to Log and Transfer P2 files to my external hardrive using FCP 6.0.6 unsuccessfully.
Originally I tried to Log and Transfer directly from the Panasonic HPX-170 in between my shooting. The first time it was a success but from then on I always get the same Unknown Error when attempting to transfer. When I encountered the Unknown Error during the second transfer I went on to create folders with the P2 contents on my external Hard Drive.
When I drag any of the P2 folder content on the Log and Transfer window I can see all the clips. I can successfully transfer small B-roll clips I have but any big size file (all my interviews) return an Unknown Error symbol at the end of the transfer. I believe this is probably why I didn't encounter any issues during my first time.
I tried deleting the preferences in FCP and then Logging and Transfer and it works if the systems settings are set for the Mac Pro but not for the external HD. The problem is I don't have enough space on my Mac. I have cleared 45GB of space but my P2 files total 54GB. I tried the same process with a Mac Power Book with FCP 5.1.4 and again in encounter the same problem.
The external HD is a 1TB Western Digital that I have used before with FCP for editing but never before with P2 files. Its in good working order and has 79GB free space remaining. Both the camera and the P2 cards (16GB and 4GB) are also performing as expected.
    I would appreciate any suggestions.

#36 - One or More P2 files failed to import.
Shane's Stock Answer #36 - "One or more clips failed to import..."
Very often in the field with this camera the camera operator will delete clips from the P2 card that they just don't like. That is the beauty of this camera. But, the still for that video file (located in the CLIP folder in the CONTENTS folder)...the still that you see when you are in the P2 Import window...is not deleted. So you will see the image, and the name, but the video file would have been deleted.
What you can do it compare the file names in the VIDEO folder and CLIP folder and see if anything is missing. If something is, then you know what the problem is. You can then just import the rest a few at time, skipping that one.
ALSO...in the P2 Import window...in the P2 Browser, there is a little sprocket drop down menu. Click on that and choose PREFERENCES. Uncheck REMOVE PULLDOWN and then try importing again.
ALSO...make sure your file names aren't too long. Try shortening them and see if that works.
ALSO make sure that the folders that contain the CONTENTS folder doesn't have any odd characters like /!@#$%^&*()?.

  • Why does it say "An unknown error occured" when logging in?

I on an iMac 8,1 (April 2008).  When I try to log into the app store it says "An unknown error has occured".  I can log into itunes with the same @mac.com account and obviously this forum.

Try signing out of the app (Store menu,) quitting the app, restarting the app and signing back in.

From waht i can understand with so many archives(8) in the space of 3-5 minutes id too high. You need to think about increasing the redolog size say around 500MB in your case. The rule of thumb says 1 log switch every 20 minutes... IS it a Peak Hour statistics?

  • Error Messages in logs

    Hi,
Recently, we had to restart our JMS server. I see the following messages in our log files. Does anyone know what these are? I see the 2nd message normally, but it seems like there should be a config to avoid this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks in advance

  • Errors in application.log "Unexpected characters found in locale."

We have need seeing a lot of this error in our log.  50 or > at the same second.  Developers feel that is the reason the application is becoming unresponsive and that Clients are calling in about the same time reporting that they are unable to access application.
We are running CF 10 S Update 15 was installed yesterday and problem happened again last night.  We are running an ORACLE database and Window Server 2008 R2.
    "Warning","ajp-bio-8012-exec-38","12/15/14","14:41:19","CFADMIN","Unexpected characters found in locale."
    over and over again.
    Any suggestions?
I have seen one other post on topic and the end result was to not worry about it, but it is troubling all the same.

/CFIDE is not locked down per the CF 10 Lock down guide.
We are moving to new servers and we will be following this Lock Down Guide for sure.
I have read thread you have given before posting my question.  I guess there is really nothing I can do at this point except do the CFIDE lock down, but seems to be a waist of time at this point with new hardware in the next 2 months.
    Thank you.

  • Active Sync Error in Event Logs - Generated by Health Monitor Mailbox.

Receiving the event log entry below on an Exchange 2013 Mailbox Server (Server 2012 OS).  No policies have been configured yet.  Seems odd that by default the health mailbox would be blocked when default policy is allow. Anybody else seeing this?

I see the same error on our 4 Exchange 2013 Servers.
I have not.  I just chalked it up to another broken item with Exchange 2013.  Maybe it will be fixed by next year.

  • Premiere Pro export issues. Unknown error messages, extremely slow export times, strange I/O & disk usage

    Hello,
I'm hoping I can start getting answers to some big issues I've been having running Premiere pro. I've had similar issues with CS6 but it seems like with CC and every recent update, the problem hasn't been resolved, its even worse.
The main issue I have is seeing the 'unknown error' message everytime I try to export a file. I'm working with RED footage. When I turn off the CUDA support, I can export without the error but my export time goes from a few minutes to sometimes hours in the render time!
I've looked through pages and pages of forums and there are so many people saying the same thing, with millions of opinions of what the problem is. Regardless, the only thing I tried that worked so far is turning off the CUDA support.
Now something I recently noticed, is that the difference isn't the GPU usage, I still show GPU being used at 500mb or 1gb out of the 2gb that it has (GTX 680)
The strange thing is without the mercury playback option, I'm seeing that disk usage and I/O go way down to kbs from a very high number. This would make sense why I'm seeing such huge changes in render times even though it still shows my 6 core CPU maxed out and ram over 40gb out of 64 that are installed.
Does anyone have a suggestion on what may be happening here? Its the only thing that has plagued my system using Premiere since day one and there seems to be no way around it..

Best way to get a real answer is go to the Tweaker's Page, download the most recent PPBM benchmark test, and run it. It's a folder that has a resource monitoring/logging program and a PrPro project with files that is short but HEAVY in effects, both AE and PrPro, so it tests all parts of a system's capabilities from disc in/out to GPU capability/use to CPU, fsb, RAM, you name it ... and after sending that back in you get a complete report on where your computer did well and what the choke-points were.
Also ... over on the Hardware forum is the place where the techies amongst us hang ...

  • Approvals on Project Server 2013 - An unknown error has occurred

Migrated Project server 2010 to Project server 2013.  All the quick launch pages were working after I completed the migration. Started the process of publishing projects and statusing/timesheets to update project.
Now I see "An Unknown Error has occurred".   Tried all my solutions for Project Server 2010 without success.
    Event log looks clean.
Has anybody seen and resolved this issue?
    Cheers!

  • ITunes 7.0.2 unknown error [-50]

I have a 4 gen ipod and was quite happy with it until the weekend. I was using itunes 6 something and had no issues. I decided that I wanted something smaller so I went and bought 2 gig nano.
All excited I brought it home and have had nothing but problems since.
I plugged the nano into my PC and got the message that I needed iTunes 7.0 or higher. So I went and downloaded it and was able to add my music to it. I then plugged in my 4 gen Ipod and things went to **** in a hand basket.
I would initially get the message in iTunes that it was updating and on the ipod it would say do not disconnect. Once updates were done (there weren't any) it would go to the new screen and my ipod would allow me to scroll through my music.
I then tried to make changes to my selection and iTunes would say updating but the ipod would not go into communication mode. It seems to close the connection between iTunes and my iPod, to the point that on the iPod it goes from the "Do Not Disconnect" screen to the main menu. My computer recognizes that iPod is attached, and running the Diagnostic shows its connected, but for some reason I can't get iTunes to communicate with my iPod without first disconnecting the iPod and reconnecting, to which it goes through the normal syncing again and then disconnects. It would do this for a while then give me the following error
    unknown error [-50]
I logged onto apple and found an article that I thought would fix my problems. I have done everything that was mentioned in the article except the registry updates but none of the solutions have worked.
It seems that this issue has been discussed for the last 2 months or more and I was wondering if there was a solution.
I cannot use iTune 6 since the nano does work with it and I cannot use 7 since my ipod does not work.
Is there any new ideas on how to fix this problem.

Ended up moving the whole iTunes library and plists to another folder and starting iTunes, then copying the iTunes music library and xml back into the folder to replace the newly created ones. Seems to be working and the play counts/playlists are intact. In case anyone else happens to have a similar error...

  • BPM getting failed with unknown error in inbound queue

    Hi ,
I am using BPM for simple  IDOC collection( time based collection) .Its working fine also .However once it fail   we can see the BPE failed in inbound processing error in smq2 and status  is  system faliure.
on debugging we can see a unknown error in transformation step that error in conversion [NN]. to proxy Z_interface name ( the proxy which automatically get created for transformation step. ) data related issue.
When we check the same  input data in IR its working fine in message mapping . we are unable to find any other error either in BPM or in the input data.
The most surprising thing is that when we deleted the message from queue and  re-triggered the IDOC once again from SAP system then its worked fine .
Can any body kindly suggest what can be the probable reason of this .As we are afraid that if the same thing will happen in production what we will do without any expalination we can't delete queue and retrigger  IDOCs there.
    Regards,
    saurabh

One option would be to raise an exception for such steps....in the Exception handler you can repeat the same step....in your case it will be the mapping (n:1) .....are you sure that the process failed in Transformation step and that the data was correct....i mean all the 5 IDOCs were sent as an input to the mapping?
Can you ensure that during this time there was no connection issue between the BPM and the mapping runtime (IE)....may be you can check with your BASIS.
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • Essbase Errors in the log and applications crashing - 11.1.2.0 and 11.1.2.1

We recently started installing a new DEV, CERT and Prod environment. We installed 11.1.2.0 in Dev and then 11.1.2.1 in Cert and Prod. In all three environments we are getting error messages in our essbase logs...“Essbase Error 1042017 - Increase the NetRetryCount and/or NetDelay” We have done all the usual changes to the config file by changing the netretrycount and netdelay settings, however the problem still persists. We are only working with developed applications in Dev, and there it causes those applications to stop. In Cert and Prod, only the sample apps are loaded, but again we get these errors in our logs. Since it spans multiple environments it seems that this is some thing with our environment, but not sure what that would be. Any thoughts?

Questions regarding version compabilities come up quite often, yet the answer is still the same: have a look at the certification matrix http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/oracle-forms-11gr2certmatrix-519680.xls
for installation instructions on your chosen platform have a look at the installation manual: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24269_01/doc.11120/e23960/toc.htm
What do you plan to do with SOA suite? This isn't needed for forms&reports.
