Selecting master failover

I have two questions regarding replicated applications.
I have setup a replication group with 4 nodes (1 master, 3 replica nodes) using Berkeley DB JE 4.0.103. I am using Direct Persistence Layer (DPL) java API, specifically com.sleepycat.je.rep.ReplicatedEnvironment class.
1. When there is a failure in current master node, the election is triggered. Is it possible to specify which replica node should be selected as next master either programmatically or through some configuration?
2. I want to specify the isolation level for my read operations as READ_COMMITTED. The API allows to specify this only if I use a Transaction object. How can I set isolation level without using a transaction?

This general issue is addressed here:

It doesn't mention the fact that you can use LockMode.READ_COMMITTED without also using a transaction, and the reason for this omission is that it isn't really useful to do so. If you do not pass a transaction (you pass null) to a get() method, then no lock will be held by the operation, which is effectively the same as using READ_COMMITTED.
If this doesn't answer your question, please describe more about why you want to use READ_COMMITTED, and what behavior you are expecting.

Exporting only selected master pages

In an InDesign CS6 file, I want to export to PDF only the pages that use selected master pages. For example, if the file has master pages A-H, is there a way to only export to PDF pages that use master pages A-C, ignoring all the other pages that use master pages D-H?

Another interesting option might be to put all the Tabbed Pages on a different layer.
You can then double click layers to have them print or not print.
You should be able to export to a PDF and choose only the pages that are Print Layers - by turning on and off the layer print mode, you should be able to export only the pages, and only the tabs in different orders.

It's in the File>Export>Adobe PDF (Print) and in the General Tab there's an option of Export Layers - and this can be set to
All Layers
Visible Layers
Visible Layers and Printable Layers
I think by Hiding the Layers for Tabs you can choose Visible Layers only and it will only export those pages.
You can then switch the Tabs back on and turn off the layer for the Body text - and export those individually.

I have imported my iPhoto library onto Aperture, and then deleted the iPhoto library so not to have any duplicates. Now, the images on Aperture are pixelated and when I try to export them the following message appears: "Unavailable master images cannot be exported.The selected master image is either offline or not found. Please reconnect it and try again." What does this mean? How can I get my photos "online" so that I can see them as they used to be?

How did you import your iPhoto Library? I assume, you used "File > Import > iPhoto LIbrary", but how did you set the "Store Files" pop-up menu?
If you chose to "Store Files in their current location", then you did not actually import the master image files into Aperture, but referenced them inside the iPhoto Library. In that case, you just deleted all your images, when you deleted the iPhoto Library. And if you did that, and your iPhoto Library is still sitting in the Trash, put it back; then your Aperture Library should work again. Or restore the iPhoto Library from your most recent backup and put it into the exactly same location where it used to be.
If you used a different "Store Files" setting, please explain where you have chosen to store the master image files. This will help to track down your images.
After restoring your master image files you may need to reconnect them to the versions. Post back, if you need help with that.

I have my aperture photos stored on a harddrive that is installed in my MacPro. I just tryed to email a photo and the message "The selected master image is either offline or not found. Please reconnect it and try again." popped up. How can I find the master image?

I recently "upgraded" from Snow Leopard to Lion (10.7.2) by performing a clean install. I then reimported my Aperture Vault. Now almost all of my 12,000+ photos show a little yellow warning icon (see attached image). I am unable to edit or manipulate these photos in any way. When I attempt to, the following error message appears: "The selected master image is either offline or not found. Please reconnect it and try again." I have already performed all 3 of Aperture's recommended Troubleshooting steps: . And here's one more bit of information. When I open Aperture while holding down the Option key (to choose the Aperture library), the dialog box asks "Which Aperture Library do you want to use?" and displays a table containing several older libraries as well as my current library (Aperture library.aplibrary) (this is the library that I am trying to use -- i.e. the one I am having trouble with). When I single-click to select this library, the information displayed below it shows its location on my external drive, as well as "12856 versions, 12920 masters." But when I double-click to open that library, I am left with the same problem. 12,000+ of these photos appear to have no master.

I am really sorry, I could not be of more help to you so far. Remote diagnosis is very difficult, since I cannot take over your computer screen.
Your problem is very unusual and it really should not happen: with a managed library Aperture should know how to find the master image files, since it is Aperture's job to keep track of them. And so there are no built in controls in Aperture at all to reconnect managed masters. You Aperture library obviously is corrupted, and you need to find out why this happenend. If you know the reason, you may try to recreate it from your vault, and avoid the problem that caused the missing masters. That is why I asked about the formatting of your drive - I wild shot - granted- but if you restored your vault to an external disk not formatted MacOS extended this might result in missing master image files. You may want to restore from your vault again, using a different drive, to avoid hard drive problems.
If you cannot find the reason for the corruption that occured when restoring from the vault, then you will have to patch your Aperture library manually, since you already tried all built-in"First Aid" measures.
You already made sure, that the library contains a "Masters" folder and the images are there. One thing you could try (after making sure you have a backup of your library):
Quit Aperture.
Open the Aperture Library Package again and move the Masters Folder to a folder outside the Aperture Library.
Relaunch Aperture and try "locate referenced Files" again;
If this does not not succeed, you might try to reimport the masters to Aperture, but this way you would loose all your edits - that why I am trying to find a clue to the source of your problem

hello, I didn t delete the drive file image and the file image is not in an external drive not plugged in.
I have a lot of of folder and photographies without no problem, but there are onlt 4 folders that I can see only the preview but i can't export or use them... Very strange...

'oparation not supported' when select master admin in identity confi

During Identity server web based installation, when try to select master admin, received error messange "oparation not supported"
Configuration store is OID and user Store is OVD. There are no connectivity issue between OID and OVD and Ldap search performed on OVD are returning users as well.
I suspect the issue might cause by Oblix attributes in OID that are not being Indexed correctly, is there any other area that i can look into the issue?

Have a look at the OVD and OID error log files to see if you can find the offending ldap query that OAM is generating. I think you are probably right about it being a problem with one of the OAM schema attributes. Could you try including obuseraccountcontrol in your ldap search, to see if that retunrs an error?

My Lr is asking me to "delete the selected master photo from disk,or just remove it from Lr" I haven't selected any photos ,I just turned on Lr

MY Lr is not responding to any process due to the following: Lr is asking " Delete the selected master photo from disk,or just remove it from Lr" the options are delete from disk,remove,cancel. Cancel doesn't work the other two options are deleting my photos which is not what it's required.

Can't select Master Page object on document page.

Yes, I know this question has been asked a million times. But, it's just not working for me. I've got a simple green box at the bottom right of my master page. I've made it into a button. I've allowed the master page to overwrite. But, on my document pages I simply cannot select this object. I've made the object into a button, per the master page, and, I need to have it link from each page back to a previous page in the document. Yes, I've tried Cmd + Shift, then click on the object, but, that doesn't work.
My button shares space with a page text box. Those are the only objects on the page, though. If I move the text box up, then yes, I can select the button. But, that's cheating.

Larger integer values indicate more desirable election winners. There is a special priority value of 0 that indicates that a site should never win an election.
An election determines a winner first by determining the client with the most recent log records. If clients are tied in this respect, the election chooses the client with this highest priority value. If both log records and client priorities are tied, a winner is selected at random.
2. I want to specify the isolation level for my read operations as READ_COMMITTED. The API allows to specify this only if I use a Transaction object. How can I set isolation level without using a transaction?
primaryKey.get(Transaction, PK, LockMode)I'm not an expert in transactions, but I do not see a way you can achieve READ_COMMITTED isolation level 2 guarantees without transactions. But I have asked some of our transaction experts about this, and one of us will respond either to confirm this or let you know about anything I have missed.

Get all records in multi selected master child tables

I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 version and using ADF-BC in my project.
I have a simple master child[one to many] relationship in my project.
In my view page,I display this master child [Ex: EmpVo1--->DeptVo2] as tables.
I have multi-slection enabled for master table.
My requirement is that,on multi selecting the rows in master tables,I want to get all the child records in my backing bean.
that is if a master row has 3 child records and another master row has 4 child records and on multiple selection of these two records in master table,I should get all the child records in my backing bean.
I need this to implement cascade delete functionality.

Your problem is that you use makecurrent, which should not be used on a multi select table. Next if you have master detail relationship you should have a view link between them. In this case you can expose a method in you master to get the related child row. No need to get the VO itself as you can use the child iterator accessors to get the child record.

Dynamically select detail report for a master report link item or button?

I'm still new to APEX, so apologies if this sounds like a stupid question, but so far I can't find anything online about how to do the following.
I have a simple report, and I want to be able to drill down from here to a detail report via a link item (or a button) in each row. The problem is that the specific detail report to use depends on a combination of values in the parent record.
So if I have a parent record in the master report with values for columns 1/2/3 of A/B/C, I would drill down to a detail report against table X. If my parent record has values of D/E/F, I might drill down to a different detail report against table Y.
I can build the individual reports easily enough, and I can set up a link item in the master report to drill down to a hard-coded detail report page. I can even generate the name (alias) of the relevant target report as an extra non-DB item in each row of the parent report. But I can't figure out how to allow each row in the parent report to actually link to a different detail report dynamically, depending on the contents of the parent row.
Can anybody suggest an easy way to do this, or point me towards an online resource that would explain how to do this (preferably in basic terms that this APEX-newbie can understand)?

When you say "Detail report" do you just mean a normal report of the child records for the selected master record or a tabular form style "Details report"?
Using different reports on a page would, typically, depend on the value in a hidden page item - for example, P1_REPORT_TYPE. Your link could pass an appropriate value into this item and the second page would then use this as a Condition for each of the report regions - each region being conditionally displayed when the hidden item is a specific value.

Master table, detail table, detail table not getting refreshed selection

i have a page where i am displaying data as master table and detail table. both table VOs are based on SQL queries which use bind variables.
i have a view link between vos of type 1:M
i created master table detail table page by dropping detail iterator from data control panel under master and selecting master table detail table
on my page i see detail table records getting populated only for first record of parent table.
on changing parent record, child table shows same records and does not refresh
i am using partial triggers on both tables to be populated on a button click as i need to pass some bind variables to VOs which are taken as input from users
how can i show corresponding rows in detail table when parent record in table changes
will i have to use table selection listener
is it possible declaratively to have master detail table view when both VOs have bind variables

How to create Table in a Table without a ViewLink for Master/Detail

Can we create a Table within Table in OA Page without using a view link. Need a Master Detail records to be displayed but I can't use a ViewLink. Is it possible to
have a Table within Table without using a ViewLink. As I have DetailVO with multiple bind variables. I tried ViewLink but it didn't work so wondering if can achieve this

I created a Table then in the table I created a detail in which I created another table I created a transient view attribute i.e. DetailFlag that I set to my outer table. When I run the page it does show me the Master records and showhide link but when I click on the show it throws an error saying:
oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: oracle.jbo.NoDefException: JBO-25002: Definition of type Attribute not found
Even though all the items in Detail table are attached to VO attributes of DetailVO
As I have a different MasterVO query with some bind variables and the DetailsVO query is different with some bind variables. Now how do I capture when a user clicks on Show and at that time wants to get some values from a selected master row and pass them to my DetailVO Query so the detail data for that selected master row shows. How do I get handle to the selected Row Data so to get the some values that need to be passed to the DetailVO.
I tried following the guide but am not able to have it functioning.

Master Slides - Need alternate solution.

I am an Apple Keynote/Aperture user who desires to create multi-image slides using a grid in which individual photos are deposited into cells like picture frames - sort of like a school yearbook layout. I have experimented with creating master slides using "Tables" and "Shapes" within Keynote, but find that they have limitations:
1. Using shapes in Master Slides, it is extremely difficult to get equal-sized borders between images using the "align" and "distribute" functions, particularly so if the cells are different sizes. As you are aware, these functions only operate on a horizontal or vertical basis. Is there a function that would automatically align all the cells on a slide in both dimensions?
2. With Tables, I cannot zoom or re-orient the image other than "fit" or "fill".
I would like to have a variety of various "grids" stored and available for use again and again. I am guessing that some software manufacturer makes a variety of template type grids - like the type graphic artists must use - that can be employed within the Apple system. If these do exist it would make my job a lot simpler. So my question is: On what computer user's forum should I raise this question?

No. As you say, creating a new master slide always just duplicates the currently selected master

Keynote doesn't treat images the way it treats audio and video i.e. images are always copied into the presentation, whereas with audio and video you have a choice to simply link to them. You wouldn't see the 'broken' image holders if you, say, dropped some images into a presentation and then moved/deleted the original images in the Finder. Keynote would be using the local copies it made of the images, and would have no dependency on the originals.
The only way I could duplicate this was to actually view the package contents of the presentation and manually delete the local copies of images that Keynote had stored. When I did that to a presentation and then opened it, I did indeed see the grey boxes with question marks that you describe.
Can you describe in more detail what you did between placing the images and then "coming back to Keynote" to find that the images had broken. Was it really just a case of closing the file, and then opening it again?
3. What is the proper way to select a master slide when creating a new slideshow slide?
I'm not sure exactly what you mean here. Are you talking about the best way to choose which master slide is applied to a new slide that you create in a presentation?
Similar to creating a new master slide, you don't really have much control over which master is used. Keynote will use the master of whichever slide you have selected when you add the new slide.
After that you can do one of 3 things to choose which master is applied to the slide:
1. Choose one from the Masters button on the toolbar
2. Drag a master from *Master Slide* area in the slide viewer onto the newly created slide in the Slides area
3. In the Slide tab of the inspector, under Appearance choose a master from the list of thumbnails
