Self Service HR addresses

Hello all,
We want to change the Self Service HR address page. Seeded, it is driven off of the City. An LOV is provided for the user to match. Short story, it is cumbersome, and not all the fields that are required, are marked as such (though there is a bug in dev to address this; not working yet).
My question is. We want to drive address entry from the zip code; have the user enter their zip, the LOV give city-state-county based on that, then have all 4 fields updated based on users response.
Has anyone attempted this? If so, can you give details, as to where to start and how to proceed?

There should be an "Add" button in the Main address and Other address sections in Personal Information function in Employee Self Service. Click on that button to add addresses.
If you cannot see those buttons then check if there are any personalizations enabled to hide the add button. You can also check the seeded employee self service responsibility to check if the add button is enabled for address.

  • Main Address in HRMS not showing in Employee Self Service

    Hi
The Main Address (primary address) that has been captured in core HR is not pulling through to the employees personal information screen in Employee Self Service. Any ideas as to what the problem could be?
    Thanks in advance

According to MetaLink note 278417.1 the cause is that the Addresses were not properly loaded, probably missing out the "Country" field. Addresses without Country field will not show up in SSHR.
    "Fix
In the PER_ADDRESSES table if 2 records are compared, i.e one entered for a new address and one for the record loaded thru APIs, then it will be seen that the Country is missing in the record that came thru API.
Customers will need to correct their data in order for the Addresses to appear in SSHR.
Customers can write an update script to update the Country (We do not support this) or update the Country field using the APIs or reload their addresses using API's."

  • Provide self-service user with information about his/her VM? IP address at a minimum?

Just setup a private cloud using VMM 2012 Sp1 as well as app controller 2012 SP1 fresh installs on Server 2012.  Since it's a lab, app con is installed on VMM server.
I have the cloud and templates and service templates and self service working as well as an IP pool handing out IPs.  I was wondering if there was a relatively simple way to provide at least the IP address of the self-service provisioned VM to the self-service
user who requested it, preferably through the app con site somehow.
    There's 2 reasons behind this:
    1.  I'd like to avoid having them console in, get the IP, and then log out and RDP in.  I'd prefer they just RDP directly to the IP the first time and go about their day.
    2.  Our DNS is not MS and does not allow auto registering, so connecting via RDP through the app controller site doesn't work because the FQDN is not reachable after VM is provisioned.
Any way to get that info easily to the user?

    Hi C. Baum,
App Controller doesn't have the ability to provide the IP address of virtual machines.
My recommendation is to have the name of the virtual machine register in DNS -- its much easier for most people to deal with hostnames rather than IP addresses.
    Kind Regards,
    Richard

  • Need to Apply validation to Address Line1 in Self Service HR

    Hi all,
Currently user is able to enter any no. of characters in Address Line1 through Self Service HR (ie. web). We would like to resctrict user to enter not more than 20 Chars in Address Line1.
Could anyone please let me know whats the best method to have this done.
    Thanks,
    Nagesh

    Hi Nagesh,
Employee personal address comes from the DFF called "Personal Address Information" Select the Localization Address which you are using from Context Field Value, select the segment and check under Address Line one and set the value set to 20 Characters (Mandator).
Note: this does not require any personalization.
    I hope this helps you.

  • Address update service in Teammate Self Service

When UK employees update their addresses via the MySAP Portal Teammate Self Service the following error occurs  "Enter both the communication key and number".  I cannot find what is causing this error.

    Hi,
That means you have not mentioned the Communication type for this employee, go to IT0105 and maintain the Subtype 1, that is system User name and the email id of the employee.
    Good Luck

  • Default Value in a DFF is not getting populated in Self Service Page

I had an issue in Self Service Page.
In the SS page there is hidden mandatory field in DFF segment, which should get populated with a default select statement.
But this field is not getting populated with the default values.
But this is working fine in Forms , i.e the default value is populated in forms.
Why the default value is not populated in Self Service Pages?
For Eg: If there is a DFF "SAMPLE_DFF" which has some context with segment
    Context Code : GB_CODE
    Segment : "Enter the Group"
and this segment is made required and defaulted with a select stmt (select stmt returns 'XXXXX')
In forms if am not entering any value, then its defaulted to 'XXXXX'.
But in Self Service this is not happening.
    Can anybody help me out...

Actually, I have narrowed down the problem. It is not quite the same.
DFF is Receivables, Address Information (Release 12). We have 2 attributes defined and we want the default value of the 2nd to be dependent on what the user selects in the 1st.
So the default value of the 2nd is defined as a SQL Statement, select :$FLEX$.INDUSTRY_CODE from dual (where INDUSTRY_CODE is the value set name from the 1st).
We know the syntax is correct because if we actually hardcode a default value in the 1st attribute (select 'BLAH' from dual), then we do see that the default value for the 2nd attribute fills in with BLAH as well. However, we do not want that. We want the user to choose a value for the 1st attribute from the LOV, and then have the 2nd attribute default to that same value. This is the part that does not seem to work in OAF, but definitely used to work in Forms.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks much!

    Hi,
    NW2004s SP9  EP7.0 ECC 6.0
we are trying to implement the self service for my employee in related activites functinality from the general information of team workset ( Team --> General informatio --> Related activities --> Self service for my employee ) in MSS which is a replicaiton of ESS in MSS functionality from the previous versions.
    When
I click on any of the options like Personal data or Addresses it gives me a blank page with no information on it. (It does give a DONE message with error/warning message on the status bar of Internet explorer. The error message says getactivetrackingEntryValue() is null)
Do I need to do anything to get this page working. I do not see any config related to this.
    Appreciate any inputs.

    James,
I think the note refers to note been able to display the general infromation iView itself. I have implemented the note and am able to see the genral information iView. My issue is I am not able to perform "Self service for my employees" in "related activities" iView.
Thank for you reply and correct me if I am wrong.
Sanjay, I have raised the issue with SAP, in the mean while if you can please let me know the patches or a list of them that are requried thyat would be awesome. Sorry for asking you this, but the basis team here asks to tell them what is requried even though I do not have sufficient authorizations to check them.
Appreciate you help on the same.

  • Lost wireless and repeated self assigned IP address

After I updated to OSX 10.5.6 my powerbook started dropping my wireless/internet connection, and adopted a self-assigned IP address. This happened whether I connected to the router via wireless or cable.
I was eventually able to change the system configuration files as suggested in previous posts, and reset my PRMU. This has worked for a wee while, but sometimes on starting up my laptop, the machine self assigns again.
I know the internet is available as I can access it from my iphone.
Then 20min ago, whilst surfing, the internet went down AGAIN, and self-assigned its favourite IP address.
I recently updated to 10.5.7, but the problem remains.
Is this a new problem or has it been going on for a while?
Also, is it a hardware or a software problem?
    Any ideas?
    Charlie

If you are able to connect initially and then it drops out I would look towards possible sources of interference. While most modern devices avoid this issue fairly well, it is a possibility. Devices such as cordless phones used to cause problems.
If it is dropping out while you are physically connected, I would perhaps check the settings on your router. Most models have a reset function which will allow you to reset it to factory defaults. Then you could reconfigure it and see if the problem persists.
The other possibility is that there is a software service on your macbook that is starting up and causing the network loss. If possible, I would attempt to initialize and reinstall all the software on your macbook. Note that this will wipe everything off, so make sure you make appropriate backups before reinstalling from scratch.
Once you have reinstalled the OS, you can upgrade it to the most recent version and see if the problem persists before installing any other software that may interfere with it.
You really need to go through a process of elimination to find out whether the problem lies with the macbook or the router. However considering your iphone works fine, I would look towards the macbook first.

  • How to configure sync rules involving a CSV file and portal self service

    Hello,
I need to configure some FIM sync rules for the following scenario:
User account details are entered from a HR CSV file and exported to AD  Users have the ability to modify their own AD attributes in the
FIM portal (there is not a requirement for them to view their  HR CSV data in the portal). The FIM portal modifications will be exported to AD as expected.
    My setup is as follows:
CSV file - name, last name, employee ID, address.
CSV MA - has direct attribute flows configured in the MA between the data source and MV Portal self service attributes –
users can edit mobile, display name and photo
I've also set the CSV MA as precedent for the attributes
FIM MA – attribute flows defined for MV to Data Source as usual (i.e. firstname to firstname, accountname to accountname, etc).
AD MA – no attribute flows defined as inbound and outbound sync rules have been configured in the portal using the Set\MPR\Triple.
I’m thinking of using the following run profiles:
CSV MA – full import and delta sync (imports HR data)
FIM MA –  export and delta import (imports portal changes)
FIM MA – delta sync (syncs any portal changes)
AD MA – export and delta import
If my understanding is correct this should sync HR data from CSV to AD, as well as user attribute self service updates from the portal to AD.
If I wanted to just do a HR CSV sync could I get away with just steps 1 & 4 ? (presumably not as my rules are in the FIM portal?)
If I wanted to do just a portal sync, could I get away steps 2-4?
Any advice on how to improve my setup is much appreciated - cheers
    IT Support/Everything

The truth is that your design should be done in the way that it doesn't matter which profiles in which order you will execute. At the end, if you will run all import, synch and export profiles on each data source you should get same result. This is beauty
    of synch engine here.
Your steps from 1-4 will synch data to your data sources and at the end will give you expected result. But not because of the order you are executing them but because of correct attribute flows. If flows from CSV file and from FIM portal might be done for
the same attributes you need to think also about attribute precedence.

  • Can't get rid of self assigned IP address

    Hello,
I have been trying to resolve this problem by myself for the last 4 days (by googling and reading forums) but nothing works so here I am.
I moved last Tuesday and everything worked fine until that day. Since I am in my new apartment, I can't connect to the Internet because of a self assigned IP address. Here is more info:
-I have a new modem since I moved (the apartment where I was living was furnished and had a modem already). However, I am using the same service provider and modem than the apartment I was subletting.
-I only have a modem (no router) and I use the Ethernet to connect.
-I am writing this message from a PC laptop which confirms that the modem is working fine and that the ethernet cable is fine, etc.
-I did many rounds of shutting down the computer, renew DHCP, unplugging the modem (from 1 minute to 10 hours) and plugging everything back.
-I called the ISP but they could not help (they just repeated the same instructions that I could find in the guide)...They have no idea how I can get rid of the self assigned IP address.
The problem is still the same, I can't get rid of the self assigned IP address (169.xxx).
Please help if you know other tricks to fix that issue...
    Thanks a LOT in advance!!
    Julie

Re 1) Setting up a new account won't solve the problem in itself but it will help narrow down the cause. The idea is this: the problem might be caused by something system-wide (e.g. a preference file in /Library/Preferences) or it might be caused by something that is specific to your account (e.g. a preference file in yourhome/Library/Preferences). If we knew which, we could target the troubleshooting appropriately. The easiest way to figure out which is to create a new user, log in as that user and see if the problem remains. If it does, it must be system-wide; if not, it is specific to your account.
Are you using any firewall software? If you are using Tiger's built-in firewall, how is it configured?

  • Airport self-assigned IP address, no internet

We got a new router from Verizon and my Mac will not connect. Network Status gave this message: 'Airport is connected to the network xxxxxx. Airport has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect to the Internet.
How do I fix this an get connected to the internet?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike from Baltimore

I have also encountered this problem and I have been researching it all over the internet all evening and trying everything I could find a suggestion for. Here's what I have: Two G4 Powerbooks, one is a 550MHz 15" Powerbook, the other is a 1.5 GHz 17" Powerbook, they are both running 10.4.11 with all the updates that Software Update has to offer, the 17" is connecting via built in Airport Extreme card, the 15" is connecting via Sonnets Aria Extreme PC card. I have AT&T DSL and I'm using the 2Wire modem/router they provided me with. Neither of the Powerbooks can connect wirelessly to the internet. Furthermore, they cannot even ping the wireless router. 4 days ago, both were connecting without any trouble (and had been able to reliably every day since the beginning of August when I hooked everything up). I have made no changes to my router's settings over the weekend. Nor had I made any changes to the Powerbooks' settings during that time. It just stopped working. If I wire one or both of them to the router with ethernet cables, connection works fine. My Desktop G4 which is normally wired into the router via ethernet, connects fine so I know my internet service is available.
So far, I've restarted both machines numerous times, restarted the router numerous times. Reset the WEP password. Changed the wireless security to WPA. Changed it back to WEP. Trashed the airport plist. deleted every wireless network entry in Keychain. Disabled DHCP and assigned IP numbers manually. Changed the wireless channel (I've tried 1, 6, and 11 with and without interference robustness).
I've been reading posts about this issue on half a dozen web forums (dating back to as early as June 2004). It appears to affect a variety of routers (2Wire, Netgear, Linksys), a variety of machines (Powerbooks, iBooks, MacBookPros, iMacs) a variety of OSes (10.3, 10.4, 10.5).
This thing is really getting me down. Anybody have any other ideas?

  • How to create a Tip for a field in a Descriptive Flex Field in Self Service

How to create a Tip for a field in a Descriptive Flex Field in Self Service ?
    Example :
    For Address
Each Address Line should have one Tip.
    What should I do ?
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi John,
It seems you have created Address Location DFF in self service in OA Framework.....
I have created a Address Location flex in OA Framework . It dipslays the segments properly but i dont want to display the segments if they dont have any value.
I only want to display segments with values . The segments with null values should not display at all...
i.e , if Address Line 2 value is null , it should not display Address Line 2..
If you have done this, pls let me know how to go abt it.
    Thanks in Advance,

  • Macbook Pro Self Assigning IP Addresses

    Hi,
I bought a Macbook Pro in August of this year, that came with Lion. I had no trouble connecting to the internet in my apartment, and had no problem connecting to the internet on my college's campus. However, a few weeks ago, I brought my computer to campus and when I tried to connect to the internet, it said I could not connect because I had a self assigned IP address. By this time, my computer had upgraded to Lion 10.7.2. My college's campus does not require a password, so I just deleted it off the list in network preferences when I got back to my apartment and brought it back the next day. It finally seemed to work ok. Then I went to my friend's house over the weekend and she has a password for her internet, and after I entered it correctly, at first it told me the same error about a self assigned IP address, but then it finally connected. Today on campus, when I turned on my computer the first couple times, it worked fine. But now when I just turned it on again it came up with the self assigned IP address error again.
I'm not sure if there's anything I can do because this seems to keep happening inconsistently. But I was wondering if anyone had any tips, and I'm happy to provide any additional computer information because I'm not sure what else is necessary to know for this situation.

    OK try this:
Open System Preferences/Network and for Location select Edit Locations
Click the + sign down left and create a New Location called 'Home'
    Under Location then select 'Home'
Down left is a button with a cog and small down arrow on it, click that for a pop-up menu and select 'Set Service Order'
When that window opens drag Airport to the top of the list and put Ethernet second and Firewire third, click OK to close the window
Back in the main window click on Airport (at the top of the list) and then hit the 'Advanced' button down right
Click + and enter the name of your home wireless network and set the appropriate Security setting and enter the password - click 'Add' when done. Drag it to the top of the list if multiple items so it always tries that first.
Click the DNS Tab at the top then hit + and enter the Primary & Secondary DNS Servers supplied by your ISP, if you can't find these try using 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.1 - click 'OK' when done.
Click the TCP/IP Tab and set 'Configure IPv4' to Using DHCP and IPv6 to Automatic then click 'OK'
Click 'Apply' bottom right and you should be assigned an IP number by your router and have Intenet Access

  • Ethernet Self-assigned IP address

I am running Tiger and recently ran into connectivity issues. I am getting the message that I have a self-assigned IP address and cannot connect to the internet. I have had no issues for 3 years and all-of-a-sudden I get this message. A pc laptop was able to connect with same modem and ethernet cable with no problem. I have seen discussion topics like this on here, but the majority of them are running Leopard. Please help!!
I have been through NUMEROUS trouble-shooting phone calls with my service provider and had 3 techs out to my house and no one can figure out the problem.
Here is what I have eliminated:
    1. Rebooting the modem
    2. New modem (actually three new modems were tried)
    3. New ethernet cables
    4. A trip to the Apple store to verify my NIC card wasn't bad...it connected instantly.
    5. I brought my machine to a neighbors house (who uses the same provider) and it also connected instantly
    5. Quadruple checked my network settings.
Any tips or advice is appreciated!

Your computer can connect at the neighbor's house and at the Apple store with no problems, but at your house you can't connect at all? Therefore your computer is fine but your home ISP is bad. But a different PC can connect at your house, so therefore your home ISP is good. There's some missing information here, this just doesn't make sense at all. Maybe a weak signal from the ISP that is bad sometimes, but not all the time?
If the Apple store and your ISP can't help you figure this one out where they can actually check out your machine and hardware settings, then I think getting any help here with a limited flow of information will indeed be very difficult. I had a hard time understanding exactly what your problem is and what you can safely rule out as the culprit.
Cancel your ISP service and sign up with another provider if they can't get it working for you, that's what you are paying them for. The Apple store said your machine is working fine, right?
