Send as... in Application ignores format settings

Hi,
using gw client 2012 sp2.
Settings in options - environment are simple text on create and read
(old school, mails are text only)
But if I send a document, excel sheet or pdf from applications file menu
via "send as...", gw´s send dialog windows appears offering format options.
Is this a bug?

ACK.
Thanks for all answers. May be I ask Novell for a new build. There are
some other bugs (multi user calendar), they might be fixed.

  • Office 2010 Ignores Printer Settings

I've seen this problem posted other places with no real resolution presented. - Here it is -
Ever since installing office 2010 I have several end users / customers that are unable to successfully keep print settings changed in Office 2010.  The settings in office 2010 themselves work fine, but if you try to change the printer properties they
get reset as soon as you change them.  An example is network MFPs that are set to B/W by default.  The customer changes to color on the printer properties, but word and excel seem to ignore those settings.  Acutally worse than ignore they reset
them to the default properties for the printer.  If you click on the properites, change them, click ok - then before printing I click on the properties again and they have already been reset.  This is a big issue for several customers - they need
to access the properties to set to color, change other settings, or use shortcut items for specific types of document printing.
Also, the problem didn't exist until they installed office 2010.  They can print successfully from any other application with the ability to change any settings needed.

    Hello all,
I think I may have a solution for your problem. The actual problem exists in office 2003 and was an easy fix but I have been ratting my brains since I started doing tech support for MFD finding in office 2010, I would see the problem know the solution but
not be able to find the properties in office seeing they move them. A client would click on print select tray 2 or options and office would seem to ignore it. My work around was to get them to print to PDF then print there item selecting the print options
they wanted through print driver properties.
In 2003 office you click File ---> Page Setup ----> then click the paper tab page and depending on your printer you will get options like
    Default Print settings
    Auto
    Tray 1
    Tray 2 etc
and a paper drop down box A4 A3 etc. This was a real problem as if it was on A4 and they where trying to print a3 selecting it through the print driver the MFD would ask for A4 paper instead of A3.
Ok so in 2007 2010 office this is where the options are causing the problem I only found it on thursday and as I dont have 2010 office at home I will have to double check these menu options when I am at another client but I should get it close enough for
    you to find.
Click OFFICE icon in office word go to print, there is a rectagular box I believe it was called WORD OPTIONS or Office Options. next there is a lot of tab options, Advance is the one you want. Click on ADVANCE. Scroll right down and you will see
    print and copy options.
Here you will see you overiding options
and it will be based on the print driver you have selected
Default Printer Options (Usually the one it is on) but I believe auto is what you want.
    Auto
    Tray 1
    Tray 2 etc
Also there is a few check box options I have not played with yet but one that caught my eye that was checked was along the lines of Shrink all print to A4 I would un check this.
So this is where you problem should be solved. Please keep in mind they I only just found this out so I do need to play around with the options a little more to understand there full affect but I think what I said is pretty accurate. I will re post and edit
    if I find other wise.
Something else to note. I believe having the Default Printer Options selected is the main problem. I believe this means if you are in office and you click print ---> print properties and select all the options you want it does not mean a damm,
because these word options under page setup(2003) and Advanced (2010) actually grabs the print drivers default setting i.e start ----> Control panel ----> printers and device then what ever options are set there will overide all other options you set
in the print driver from word.
I have only played with this on 2010 in word, did not check if the options are there for excel and access but I guessing its standard. Have fun let me know how you go.

  • CR 9 Ignores Formatting

Using Crystal Reports 9, I am unable to set formatting on number fields. (including dollar sign display/alignment) Reports are generated through Active Data (Field Definitions Only) with the datasource being ms access or sql server through oledb. If I populate the ttx with sample data and preview, the formatting is correct. Generating the report through vb at runtime always ignores formatting. For example, a field defined as Number in the ttx file should be formatted as 1234 but instead is displayed as 1,234 regardless of formatting applied at design time. The strange thing is, this issue does not ocurr on my old workstation. The new OS is 64 bit, but I wouldn't expect that to be a problem. So far, I have applied all service packs and available monthly hot fixes to no avail. Also, seeing strange issue with crosstab not displaying on new workstation. This turned out to be the use of a month function as a group or column.

Thank you kindly for your answer. I was aware of this solution and had previously used this technique on a report with the formatting issue. While this approach does solve the problem, it is merely a workaround for an underlying bug or program flaw...one which the developer (Business Objects) should have been aware of and one that should have a fix posted. This solution would be acceptable for a small number of reports, or if I was in the creation process, however, I have hundreds of reports that still work and format correctly on other workstations, most importantly the reports distributed to customers do not display this behavior. A previous poster having the same issue may have provided a clue, having the same issue with CR XI. In fact, the workstations displaying this behavior have side-by-side installations of CR 9 and CR XI. Given the fact that the reports format and display correctly for customer's applications, (using CR 9 runtime) this issue is more of an inconvenience in development/maintenance, having to test the report on another workstation, which is not always possible if I am traveling. I just want CR 9 to display the fields with the formatting I have set in the Format Editor, or in other words, I want it to work like it is supposed to.

  • Broadcasting PDF format settings

    Hi all,
I have to send query views in PDF format by broadcasting, but the report is bigger than one page. When the user opens it in PDF cannot modify the margins, and can not modify any printer settings, the report will be very-very small in the middle of the page. Does anyone know, who can i modify the PDF settings before send the broadcasting out?
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
You can make settings in the Broadcaster Wizard.

  • Printing Ignores Print Settings

Our mac seems to be ignoring printing settings and preset settings. We keep a black ink only fast draft setting for normal printing because it is fast and saves ink. However, all applications seem to be defaulting to High Quality, Photo Paper, Full Color, regardless of what is selected in presets. We have to select another preset, and then reselect our draft preset for the changes to stick in the print window. Then, sometimes the application will print according to our settings, and other apps just print in high quality full color anyway. This is a real time and money waster. Any suggestions?

I have tried with changeing some parameters, reinstall XE DB and APEX,
but without success on date format.
Any help to fix date format ?

Client configuration is the main factor for date formats, settings can be made in the database server for defaults but can be overridden according to the client. And check the browser language (and font) settings they can also be a factor.
Start with checking the national language settings ( sqlplus > show parameter nls;) and did you install the Western European, or Universal version? (Windows? Linux?)
Client settings are picked up from environment variables, the most important is NLS_LANG specifying client country, region, and character set so that the right characters are shown to the client (i.e. which currency symbol, number formats: 9,999.00 or 9.999,00) and in the U.S, we write dates as mm/dd/yy, while in the UK and most of Europe its dd/mm/yy. And the environment settings can be overridden within a session too, i.e. in sqlplus:
    select sysdate from dual;
    alter session set nls_date_format = 'yyyy-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss';
    select sysdate from dual;
And check the NLS_LANG setting ...
    \[linux\]$ echo $NLS_LANG
    \[win\]$ echo %NLS_LANG%
The character set for the database can cause trouble especially when the client settings are incorrect or invalid. Easiest way to find the db setting is SQL> alter database backup controlfile to trace; and check the trace file created in the user_dump_dest folder ...

  • Sending emails in PDF & TXT format generated by SAP script/Smart forms

    Hi
We have a requirement to configure SMTP node to send emails in PDF & TXT format. Currently, Output format for SAP Documents generated by SAP Script/Smart Forms configured in PDF. (Tx - SCOT - SMTP Node - Intetnet - Output Forms for SAP Documents). But, We also like to send emails in TXT format for other application in the same system. I see that you can send emails generated by SAP Script/Smart Forms either in PDF or TXT format not both.
Is it possible to send the emails in both the formats by configuring in Tx SCOT?
    Your inputs will be appreciated.
    Regards
    Chandu

    Hi chandu,
    1.  emails in both the formats by configuring in Tx SCOT ?
Scot will allow only ONE AT A TIME.
    2. The other workaround is,
      that using some FM
      convert the OTF (sapscript/smartform)
      data to TEXT,
      and send it as RAW
    3. Configure RAW =  TEXT in scot.

Cannot send email from iPhone. Outgoing settings are correct. Checked them against iPad settings which are OK and can send mail. What can I do?

    For IOS7.02
The user name and password are in two places. Make  sure they are correct in both locations.
    Settings>>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>>your email>>
First spot is here under INCOMING MAIL SERVER
Below this is OUTGOING MAIL SERVER
Select: SMTP smtp.comcast.net>> PRIMARY SERVER :smtp.comcast.net>>second location of user name and password
Here is the second place that the user name and password must be checked.
I had changed my password in the first spot, but not the second spot. I had been receiving the same error message. This fixed my problem.

  • Hallelujah, finally disabled OOPP. I use Firefox 9.0.1 and will not upgrade to anything that ignores my settings. Been looking for this info for years!

As soon as Firefox came out with OOPP, I immediately asked how to permanently disable it and had a Firefox developer straight-up lie to me and say it couldn't be done without downgrading. Thank GOODNESS for the instructions on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/713600?page=1 Finally, finally I have excised the hated OOPP!
I run Firefox 9.0.1 and will not upgrade, ever, unless I see signs that Mozilla has radically altered its development direction and discarded most of the boneheaded, broken, anti-user development that has gone into versions more recent than Firefox 1.x. Actually making your mission statement more than an empty promise might be a good place to start.
Let's see...anything else? Oh yeah, any developer who advocates overriding or ignoring user settings, or taking control away from the user, should be kicked off the team. (and investigated as a possible Government mole, but that's a lot to ask for). I hear Konqueror and Safari are looking for new devs. It gets old fast when you try to get support and instead get haughty "You're doing it wrong, stop doing that" responses. I'm doing exactly what I intend to be doing and if you can't support that, someone else will. If you really gave a damn about your users, you might start by backporting security fixes to previous versions instead of spewing out a cacophony of incompatible new versions so rapidly you end up confusing and alienating users and making them switch updates off entirely. I mean seriously, what happens when Firefox hits triple digits? You could stick a decimal in front of it, and name that build after a historic baseball player who had that batting average. But even then you will run out of players in a few months.
It's truly sad. I switched to Firefox because it was the best browser. But Firefox has been backsliding horribly since around 2.0, and the other browsers seem to be in about the same boat. Firefox IS still the best browser - but only if you use an ancient, unsupported version. That's a big problem.

Using an obsolete version released [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/9.0.1/releasenotes/ December 11th 2011] is the exact definition of downgrading. It exposes your system to all the security vulnerabilities that have been fixed since then.
    * https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html
Out-of-process plug-ins was made mandatory on Windows Vista and later because Adobe don't test Flash Player's protected mode with OOPP disabled. This change didn't happen until Firefox 14, so there was no need to go as far back as Firefox 9.0.1.
If you absolutely have to, you can disable OOPP by creating the ''MOZ_DISABLE_OOP_PLUGINS'' environment variable and setting its value to '''1'''. Firefox must be restarted for the change to take effect. This works in the current version of Firefox, so there's no need to use obsolete insecure versions.<br>
If you don't know how to create an environment variable, see the following article for instructions (the "Using the Custom Environment Variable" section is not relevant).

  • A Problem with Region Format Settings

    Hi!
I have a peculiar problem with Region Format settings on my iPod touch (Settings > General > International > Region Format). It appears that iPod touch can support more region formats than it is stated on that list. Once I registered my iPod, I selected my location, Lithuania, and it automatically set (I think because of this action, and not another, like my PC settings) Region Format to Lithuanian. Although it is nonexistent on the menu list! Good news!
However, the problem is that while I explored my iPod I accidentally checked another region, and there is no "cancel" option. So my region switched to another. And now I am not able to switch it back to Lithuanian again because there is no such selection (reset or restore didn't help).
Has anybody any suggestions how could I return to my preferred region format (Lithuanian)? Thanks!

thats interesting. I think the ipod took those settings from your computer/mac.
anyway, shouldn't there be something near you that has the same region format settings? maybe you can just use something that's exactly the same.
and btw: some of the regions have arrows next to them which brings you to subregions of that region. maybe you should check that out?
otherwise ... well ... I think only a restore would bring back the original settings.
