Sending an automatic mail on changing message status

Hey,
I faced this problem previously where i wanted to send a mail to the key user as soon as the message status of any Service Desk message changes from new to In Progress. I received a SAP Tutor file from SAP Support which showed the whole process of configuring it. I implemented it and it was working fine. Now i have this situation that i want to send an email to the user everytime the message status is changed. So what i basically did was that i editted the condition to include all the statuses.
Now the problem i am facing is that the email is only sent when the message status is changed for the first time. Any subsequent changes later on dont result in mail being delivered. Actually that action of
sending mail is not being generated after the first time. Please help mein this regard.

First of all, are you using SolMan 3.2 or 3.1? I am asking that because the SAP Tutor file shows old version of Service Desk. If you have 3.2, are you working with SLFN transaction type or SLF1? With SLFN, you have to change action profile SLFN0001_ADVANCED. In order to send email on status change, create a new action as explained in the SAP Tutor, but using the correct action profile. Then create a condition for action for the correct status profile. It should work, it works for me..
I use the standard action "Email to message creator" to send email to message creator. I just configured "Max. 1 Unprocessed Action for Each Action Definition", Scheduled Automatically, Partner Dependent and put the message creator partner function in the Action Definition.
If it does not work for you, please explain in details what you have done and if you have any error message.
Did you check the Actions tabstrip in your Service Desk Message? You have all the log of the actions there, if the action was scheduled and did not work, you should find an error.

    Use the database procedure      UTL_MAIL.SEND to send mail and attachments.
    UTL_MAIL.SEND(from_addr,to_addr,nvl(cc_addr,null),null,subject,mail_body);
    And you can call this from forms.

    Thanks for your tip about how to send an email. So, I am trying to send email in my scenario and I don't know if I am choosing the correct type status. I have two questions:
    1 - In SE16 transaction, into table TJ30 I dont know what transaction type to select?
    2 - Is necessary choose "Depend Partner"? I don't know what kind "Depend Partner" is possible to choose.
    Reminder, my necessity is to send an email to someone (doesn't matter in this moment, could be an especific user your choose) after an specific document into solar02 changed status from "A" to "B".

    Well, you have three choices:
    The first one is provided in the Nokia Messaging FAQ (http://email.nokia.com/account/faq.action):
    I get a 'This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification 500: Failure' error when sending an email. What does this mean?
    In rare cases, Nokia Messaging cannot send emails because your email provider's SMTP server settings are incorrectly configured, or because your email provider will not allow Nokia Messaging to send email through their server. If you are receiving this error, log into your account at email.nokia.com, select Edit Settings on the account that is receiving error, select Change Server Settings and remove the information in Outgoing mail server and Outgoing server port and uncheck SSL Required for outgoing mailserver, and select Save. This will cause your emails to be sent through the Nokia Messaging server and should resolve the problem.
    The second one is to change the SMTP server. (source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahoo!_Mail#Free_IMAP_and_SMTPs_access)
    In addition it is also possible to send mail through mail clients as yahoo also operates an SMTP server (smtp.mail.yahoo.com). It is necessary to enable SSL through port 465.
    The third one (the one it worked for me) is to wait. I didn't do any changes to my email client from my phone and it worked after some time, so I assumed it was server related. (Either Yahoo! or Nokia Messaging servers)
    Currently, I'm a Yahoo! Mail Plus subscriber. (POP3/SMTP access through dedicated servers; 20 $ / Year). If you're a heavy sender, I would recommend this instead of Nokia Messaging servers.

  • Change message status after release purchase order

    Hi,
    I'm a newbie in MM...
    When a purchase order is created, the message status is not processed (yellow light) until the purchase order is released. Then the message is printed and the status changes to green light.
    As far as I see, I can't find in the spro where is this customizing set or if there is a user-exit or badi for changing the message status depending on the release indicator.

    Complete the condition record, for example, like this:
    - Transaction: MN04
    - Output Type: NEU
    - Choose third option: Purchasing Output Determination Document Type
    - Document Type: NB
    - Function: VN (Vendor)
    - Medium: 1 (Print output)
    - Date/Time: 4 (Send immediately (when saving the application))
    Select the line and press button "Communication". Complete the output device and mark the option "Print immediately"
    So, when the PO is created the system generates the message with yellow status. Then, when the PO is released, the message status will be green

    is there a way to read AOL Mail on the iPhone without it affecting the status of that mail on the AOL server?
    On a BlackBerry there is a setting to do this, so that you can keep up on reading your email, then get back to the desktop and have it be as if you didn't.

    if you dont want it to impact the AOL mailbox, set it up as a POP3 acct instead of an imap acct. Incoming server: pop.aol.com outgoing smtp.aol.com. Only problem with that is you wont get a "sent" message folder on your phone so you wont be able to see what youve sent from the phone and it wont go to the AOL mailbox either.

  • You can send an automatic mail from an application to own ePrint?

    I have an android application which displays documents in jpg hosted on a server, the idea is to type the mail ePrint printer in the GUI and send an email with the attachment to this email from a process server, is it possible? is there any restriction on that?, because I tested smtp clients GMAIL, HOTMAIL aND MAIL tO CORPORATE and I fail to print. The printer works correctly when I send the document from another side, even print the document sent to the server but previously forwarded from another account.

    To the best of my knowledge, there are no restrictions on that.  The only problems you may run into is that the emails might be rejected as spam, and what you are doing would be entirely unsupported.  To prevent the emails form being rejected, make sure there is no signature on the emails, and that there is not forward or reply tag in the subject line of the email.  Other than that I can not think of a reason it will not work.

  • SolMan automatic mail notification.

    Dear All,
    i had config all necessary settings for ticketing system through our solution manager .
    then i had config SCOt and then through PPF adm i had maintain action for message creater SLFN0002.
    and make a condition for In Process.
    So when ever i am saving any support message at In Process status then automatically mail generated for key user.
    but problem is that
    Mail only generated for those support message which had been generated only in SolMan system.
    i do not know why so ?
    obviously key user will create message from another server , what they are doing from production server and at SolMan support team getting those ticket/message but when SolMan admin is changing support message status from new to In Process then in action tab no action happen related to mail.....
    while if for testing purpose i  create any message from SolMan only then after changing message status i getting action related to mail in action tab.
    Can any one tell why it is going on...

    For which type of business functionality you want to send automatic mails.
    After the batch job finish you can set the automatic mail in transaction SM36.
    in the user defination you have to do the settings related to automatic mail of SAP office mail.
    If you are using SCM then try to use SCM's event management.
    Most of the places Work flow used to send the automatic mails as per the business event happens.
